Right in line with the Pet Shop Boys’ latest hit single “I’m With Stupid” which although it’s a song about a bad relationship, supposedly is a metaphor for Blair’s relationship with W (aka Stupid). Good stuff…
Winston Churchill knew the difficulty of fighting a war and was grateful when America joined the fight – that was not an easy alliance. On the other hand, Nellie Chamberlain thought being an ally of the US was a walk in the park. I suppose when one’s perspective favours appeasement and capitulation at ALL COSTS, a military and intelligence alliance IS difficult…..
MA,
Going back to the good old days when things were done correctly. Too bad bad you can’t find examples of that these days. WWII….what will you bring up next the alliances that were forged during the French-Indian War and how difficult they were?
#6, ForTruth – I was just as surprised when I first heard that song.
#7, Will OBGYN for Food – That’s true, but he did start looking for Osama again for (I have no proof, but I think) about a week total after 9/11/01 until he realized that his poll numbers had sored, so he couldn’t just catch him and simply move on with the rest of the country… He had to milk the tragedy for everything its worth and use it to help get him a second term and continue to use fear for his and his party’s advantage. That’s when he stopped looking again and diverted attention towards Sadam. Just my conspiracy hypothesis with no proof. ;-)

So are you saying that Tony Blair is having a hard time being our ally because the US currently favours appeasement and capitulation? Mighty you might want to have a check under the bonnett, that makes no sense. You have applied the Mighty filter to that statement, and added your own stuff. Thanks for leaving.
Things will be worse with the Tories in power , I know “worse you say”
Even though Tony Blair is a lying mass murdering thief , David Cameron will be worse than that. The Tories dont even want to have a debate on going to war they just want war anyway,
Tony Blair will be gone by 2 months Ill bet , Hes just staying in power cause he wants another war, most people realise this
America and britain need a Proportional representation voting system
Tony Blair actually promised this in the Labour manifesto before him being the prime minster ( Another Lie )
You see we both have 12 Years Red, 12 Years Blue, 12 Years Red, 12 Years Blue , Then your lifetimes up and your children have to suffer the same nonsense ……..
As where the Proportional representation voting system stops this happening ……… THATS WHY ALL OF EUROPE USES THIS SYSTEM
“Naturally, this sounded much better than Mr. Blair’s initially scripted remark ‘Yes, it’s hard sometimes to be America’s puppet, because the puppeteer’s hand is often rather unforgiving’.â€
“Yes, it’s hard sometimes to be America’s strongest ally,” he said, adding that close involvement in the European Union could also be difficult. “At the moment I know people only see the price of these alliances”. I am confused at why TP would run this article. After reading it, I simply wonder: ‘is this the reason democrats could only support the war on terror for about a week after 9-11. Because it is hard?
Bush quit looking for Osama when he became president.
Comment by Will OBGYN for Food
Actually, he met with the Taliban in early 2001 and gave them $43 million.
Bush was too interested in the (Chevron) pipeline being built across Afghanistan. Karzai was a Unical lobbyist. The entire saga of the Taliban, Afghanistan, Bush, Cheney, Chevron, Unical, Halliburton, is a convoluted, twisted tale of greed and selfish interests.
Terrytheturtle, how’s it going? Maybe it is an insignificant point, but doesn’t it make your heart sink when you see the wave of international disapproval directed at the U.S? It does to me. Is it possible that disapproval affects not just how we feel, but how we think? Should it? The U.N. has formulated numerous resolutions only to capitulate when it comes to enforcement. There are times when the majority is wrong. (you could probably say that about the last election). Do feelings ever affect judgement?
What? Like it’s “hard work”, or something?
Stupid lap poodle.
The Brits should have stormed Blair’s flat long ago! Well, having said that, Amerikans should have stormed and reclaimed the WhiteHouse too.
