No one is asking for “sources and methods”. No one wants to compromise our “security”… just an accurate unbiased assessment of WTF is going on.

She explained it on another thread, she isn’t referring to all Christians or even really only Christians, she is more referring to people who use their religion as a weapon. Sort of like Islamic fundementalists do, but without the willingness to take themselves out of the gene pool. Really, how much evolutionary fitness does it take to not blow yourself up? It is like those kids who think choking themselves is a bright way to entertain themselves.

For the most part religious people are just people, there are bad people, and there are good people. The trouble is, as Yeats said best:

The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Which means the worst Christianity has to offer tends to be the most vocal element. You have a lot of airtime for guys blaming Hurricane Katrina on a lesbian comedian who isn’t even very funny and a whole generation that listened to Jack Chick’s take on Dungeons and Dragons, but not much that represents the ordinary Christian who would much rather live in peace then end up killing people because they don’t agree on what to name their gods, and who believe themselves and their kids bright enough to recognise that sometimes a game is a game, not a course in Bible studies.

Note, that I am by no means the best Liberalism has to offer, I tend to get too dogmatic over stupid shit, and sympathy isn’t my strong suit but I am who I am, and I recognise that there are far better people out there then I am right now and probably then I will ever be. It is those who don’t recognise this, that seem to cause problems.
