  1. Kevin says:

    its a pole. No fact.

And wouldn’t you realy hide out if you just pissed off the USA?

  2. WaltTheMan says:

There’s that 35-38% again! Where do they find these people?

  3. dlet says:

Stupid 30%ers. What is with the brain-dead third of our coountry. I am sure we will be hearing from some of them here in 3….2…..1…..

  4. yawn says:

    polls = pointless :(

  5. clif says:

Well since only G.W. Bush is holding office, and is actually in power to do much about it at all, his numbers do reflect on HIM right now. and for all his photo ops, and stage managed speeches, Georgie does not rate very well at all.

I guess blame Clinton SIX years after the fact is wearing quite thin.

The chimp in chief is gonna have a buck to stare at on for a while, just as good old Harry Truman said it should be. He ain’t getting away with “pass the buck” anymore.

  6. Jim Conrad says:

    WOW! America gets a brain!

  7. Republicans are the fear and smear party says:

WOW! At least Americans are starting to wake up! This shows that the Republican propaganda machine is not working as well as it used to. This may actually make Rove a little nervous. I expect to see more Republican meltdowns, implosions and outbursts in the next few days.

  8. JesusChrist_GodOfWAR says:

#1 – Bill Clinton had a pole and knew how to use it. Emperor George’s pole appears to be flaccid, as is common in many Republicans.

This is a poll. OK? Got it? And the poll suggests that Americans have awoken to the fact that your Boy in the WhiteHouse isn’t doing enough to keep Americans, including your sorry ass, safe. Got it?

  9. lw says:

Apparently 36% believe Bill Clinton has actually been president since 9/11/01, so he must be the one responsible for not killing or capturing bin Laden for the past 5 years. So sad.

  10. bs says:

again, the same o’l 30-35%. it’s the same folks that support bush and his evil doers——the christians(bible belt). that ought to tell everyone about christianity and the supposed love, tolerance, peace they share in there (hardened) hearts.

It’s quite easy to take the words of a saint who died 2000 years ago, and who was written about by someone who couldn’t know this saint 150 years later and twist those words into whatever you want them to mean.

Why, it’s only a small matter of faith! You can quickly forget about following the original ideas and actions of the saint. The resultant religion is now nothing but hardened dogma that in no way resembles the original.

It happens in many religions. Christians can’t see it. Too bad for them. Fools.

  12. Tim Wilkins says:

Can’t see why anyone is surprised at the one-third support for Bush. A student of history will recognize that this is about the same percentage(Tories) who opposed the Revolutionary War. Back then, we beat the crap out of them and then exported their sorry a**es out of the country. Time to do it again, but this time Britain and Canada might not be willing to take them in…how about the Moon…if they can breathe there, they can have it !!

  13. Jay Randal says:

The core-base Bush lovers of 35% to 40% are severely brain damaged, and can never be swayed to see the truth about anything! They are lost souls to reality!

  14. PAL says:

What is with the 30-35% ??? I bet if they did another poll to see if Christianity should be the official religion of the U.S., you’d see 65% opposed, 35% for it.

  15. james+k.+sayre says:

  16. Chris H. says:

The 30-35% are “Christian Fundamentalist.” The share an ideology, though not a religion, with the “Islamic Fundamentalist.” They are both right wing conservative movements (as are the Nazis). In America we call the “Christian Fundamentalist” Republicans and the “Islamic Fundamentalist” Terrorists. It doesn’t change the fact that they hold the same values. One group commands a army with planes and state of the art wepons systems; the other group commands suicide bombers to their death. They have the same goals of world domination based on religious perversion. It suprises me that more people don’t see that.

  17. People in the Sun says:

This poll, these numbers, even the mention of Clinton’s name in relation to Bin Laden is the strategy Rove is going for. In the face of Bush’s complete failure the only thing they can do is to suggest others are also to blame, and that Democrats are no better.
The Path to 9/11, the Fox News ambush, and this poll are all distractions from the otherwise clear truth of Bush’s failures.

  18. God'sRightHand says:

    #16, good post.
    This surprises me, too.
We have no dialogue between religous ‘experts’ on both sides.
We have no middle ground to allow each to exercise beliefs.
We have no serious negotiations or diplomacy in action.

Islam, Christianity & Judeasm all have common roots. That would
be a good place to begin dialogue, in my judgment. Until then, I
guess we’ll have to keep killing each other & bragging about it.

    Sad, indeed.

  19. JesusChrist_GodOfWAR says:

Perhaps we should start calling he 30 to 35 percent who support Emperor Bush not just “Christian Fundamentalist”? How about:

    Christian Terrorists
    Christian Fundamentalist Terrorists
    Christofascist
    Christofascist Terrorists
    Christofascist WackJobs

Afterall, who was it that blew up that governement building in OK City? And weren’t his direct ties to the Christian Identity “movement” well known? Yet, for some weird reason, most of those christian religious nutballs who fomented violence against the US government escaped arrest and prosecution.

One man’s “terrorist” is another’s “voice of reason”.

  20. G-Dawg says:

Liberals live by polls and that is exactly why they are losing elections, because they go by polls instead of having a backbone.

  21. Tobey+Tall says:

strong>Rice says she would not back gas embargo on Iran YAHOO FRONT PAGE

NEW YORK (Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said she did not support a gasoline embargo on Iran as a way of punishing Tehran for refusing to give up its uranium enrichment program.

this says everything about Americas foreign policy ???? Bloody joke
lets see ok – no medicine – no food – no airplane parts – BUT YES WE WANT YOUR OIL ….. HA HA HA HA HA

  22. Chris H. says:

Any other answer would have an effect on the price of gas right before the elections. When the gas is low, stupid people think that things are ok…

  23. JesusChrist_GodOfWAR says:

    #26 – Kevin, you CRAZY CHRISTIAN…

Don’t you mean “Kevin, you CRAZY CHRISTOFASCIST TERRORIST…”

  24. frenchfries says:

That’s actually much better than ever before! Right after 9/11 it was the other way round. So the whole “blame Clinton” shtick of the right wing is severely backfiring!! Way to go!

  25. Kevin says:

What makes you think I’m a Christian? I never made that claim. Oh that’s right. You can make up facts and call it truth and then call anyone you want a liar. Because you have no rules. You just hate.

  26. SouthPaw says:

I have a friend who is of the 30%, and just last week she was telling me how she is losing faith and hope in Bush. Then today she tells me that she watched the interview with Clinton and couldn’t believe that people were saying that “he lost it” or that he was agrumentative. She said that at least Clinton showed some passion. She no longer sees any look of any feeling on Bush’s face and she doesn’t feel that he’s concerned about what is going on, and that if the media didn’t want a real answer, they shouldn’t have asked the question. So, it’s official that the 30%-ers are starting to see through this. I never thought I’d hear those words from her mouth. It gives me hope.

  27. confusedashell says:

DIEBOLD ™ will determine the outcome of the November elections, just as it did in 2000, 2002 and 2004.

The sheeple will do nothing but bleat for a while, as the corporate marketing and propaganda media ignores cries of “foul”

The sheeple, having exhausted themselves with their little protests, will resume their positions on the great couch, to watch another season of Survivor

  28. budpaul says:

Woah, the wingers won’t stand for this. Time to kick the Clinton smear campaign into high gear!
    America’s Least Wanted

  29. Dave says:

    approx 35%?

    Why doesn’t this surprise me?

Let’s face it, 35% of Americans are haters, pure and simple. It will always be around 35%. Just like the time when President Clinton left office, his approval rating was around 65%. Let me guess that it is the same 35% hated America back then who are hating America in this poll.

These 35% hate America. They are your flag burners. They hate apple pie. They hate democracy. They hate freedom. They hate liberty. They hate decency. They hate President Clinton.

For these people, there is no hope.
I only hope they find medication so they don’t get rabies.
I only hope their medicine make their life a pleasant rose-colored haze.
I only hope they don’t go off the deep and and abuse oxicontin like their Daddy does.

    God Bless America!
    God Bless President Clinton!

  30. Jason+M.+Hendler says:

Interesting poll, considering that any portion of blame that Clinton carries is good for Bush. Again, please, please, please spend as much time as you can talking about Bubba and Hill’reh – they suck all the oxygen out of other Dems’ messages.

  31. Marty Didier says:

Although the poll and topic targets Osama bin Laden with determining who was worse, Bush or Clinton, there’s something else that all of us need to know about. To begin with, the Bush’s and Clinton are all involved with being involved in a mammoth sized criminal system within our Federal Government. The reason why I know this is because I was in a family for more than 26 years who was directly involved. The reason is money! Corruption only works when they are able to spend money! War is a perfect excuse for spending too. And it’s worked for many or our stupid wars too as discussed many time within the family.

Another issue to accept is that they are experts in playing games with the information they release for our consumption. There are many new articles discussing the interconnections with who owns what in the news systems we depend upon to learn from. And of course knowing this only widens more of how else is involved. I know from the family that many large corporations, billionaires and groups are involved so the criminal system grows even larger. This topic much like talking about Bush’s lies, is again something that will fill books. It’s impossible for me to describe this in a simple manner. I’m hopeful the news from the blogs continues to teach us all the finer details that make up this criminal system. In some areas, most of the dots exist for us to piece together what this is. All we need to do is look at this as a criminal system and not a collection of mishandled, mismanaged and screwed up series of mistakes.

You’re doing a good job ThinkProgress, please keep up the good work!

Beware, there are other layers of crime, than corruption, that are much worse which they have been up to for all these years. You will be surprised to learn that it’s all on US soil and used against us. These are some of the ways they eliminate threatening people in a quiet way and we all need to know all about this too!
