Hundreds of White House/Abramoff contacts revealed.

A draft bipartisan House committee report has found “hundreds of contacts between top White House officials and former lobbyist Jack Abramoff and his associates” which “raise serious questions about the legality and actions” of those officials. “Bush administration officials repeatedly intervened on behalf of Abramoff’s clients,” Roll Call reports.

UPDATE: Watch ABC’s report on the new contacts from World News Tonight.

"485 contacts between White House officials and Abramoff", and R. Clarke couldn't even get a meeting with the Cabinet.

  2. Bluedog49 Says:

Gosh, and just a couple months ago they were saying there were "only three or four contacts." It almost makes one think the Whitehouse was lying about its relationship with Abramhoff.

  3. CpnJustice Says:

I want them out of that house now!! November can't come soon enough!

  4. Briseadh na Faire Says:

Bluedog - there were only three or four contacts...per week!!!

Republicans: The LIE AND DENY Party.

    Bwah ha ha ha ha.

This is another leftist (read terrorist) tactic. those who believe this lie will be imprisoned and tortured.

Trolls in high level meeting..how to spin this one? Waiting!

  10. SmackTalk Says:

After passage of the most draconian police state bill to ever come before congress...

The spin from the right can now consist of the following...

    So what!?

  11. bones Says:

It's not true, Bush said the only contact was at a White House JewishN Year's celebration. So this story MUST be a lie or President bush would be a BIG FAT LIAR!

  12. War4Sale Says:

    Snow at tomorrow's press gaggle:

"It was only a mere 400-something meetings. As we said before the president and Mr. Rove barely knew him

Virtually every day the evidence mounts that the last honest Republican was Dwight D. Eisenhower.

  13. SpudgeBoy Says:

This is another leftist (read terrorist) tactic.

Once again, for our retarded friend. The terrorists are conservative fundametalist Muslims.

They are closer to Bush than they are to us.

Does it feel like we are speeding straight to hell to you guys?

  15. ruskindoc Says:

I wonder what tomorrow will bring.... more wrongdoing by this administration and people in high places....it's "de rigeur" these days for this country which is slowly flusihing itself down the commode.

  16. Marie Says:

Bush said he hardly knows him. Bush doesn't lie, does he? Neither does Rove. They are good christians.
Those "3 or 4" contacts were actually 300 or 400.

  17. midwestblue Says:

These guys aren't politicians--they are common thugs who hijacked the electoral process, assumed the presidency, purposely allowed 9/11 to happen, and made sure there was a war going on so they could grab even more power. These sociopaths torture because they can, and it gives them pleasure. With the suspension of habeus corpus, don't be surprised to see detention centers inside the U.S. if the Republicans win in November. And definitely expect the draft, because they thirst for endless war. Power and wealth at all costs--the mark of brutish, twisted souls.

Here's the roll call. My OWN Democratic senator voted AYE for this bill. He's also from a "red state." I've communicated to him in the past that if he was going to vote like a Republican on national defense and "terrorism" issues, which are BAD for America I would never vote for him again. He has a totally CRAZY opponent. His name is Bill Nelson (D) of Florida. His opponent is Katherine Harris. I certainly won't vote for her....but I can't, in all good conscience, vote for him either. Note the ONE Republican that voted NO to this bill. Lincoln Chafee. If he gets reelected, I hope to God he switches to the Dems or declares as an Independent as Jeffords did.

Grouped By Vote Position (I've bolded the Dems who voted "Yea." )

Where's Exley and G-dawg? Funny how they never show up in the difficult to spin threads.

  20. impeachcheneythenbush Says:

Sorry - I missed Stabenow, who also voted in favor of the bill.

  21. j swift Says:

    Sorry, but screw watching ABC.

  22. ZimmJim Says:

Gee, over 450 visits to the White House and the press has yet to ask Bush if he ever had sex with that man.

  23. TheOtherMaven Says:

I was already going to vote against "Macaca" on the 7th. And come the next Senatorial election I will vote against Warner. Shame on him, staging a fake "rebellion" only to come running as soon as he heard his master's voice.

  24. ruskindoc Says:

Who really cares anymore. It's clear that the dems certainly don't. We've always know that the Repugs don't.....so why should any of us care at all? Let them have a ball and do what they wish! The sky's the limit!

  25. JPark Says:

#19 This is a dark day. I used to respect Rockefeller. My senators are damn lucky. Well, one is lucky...Feingold would never vote for this. Kohl, I don't know.

  26. Marie Says:

What the heck happened to those Democrats? Are they afraid that thier opponent in November will beat them up with a Nay vote?
Did they not think they could defend a nay vote with principles and ideals?

  27. Marie Says:

    Between 2001 and 2004. Hmmm.
When did Jeff Gannon get all those passes into the White house with the sloppy record keeping of his arrivals and departures?
We all know Mehlman is in the closet...
"...$25,000 for meals and drinks with White House officials...
...expensive meals and exclusive tickets... "

  28. Midnight+Rambler Says:

Since ABC is being boycotted I don't care if they report the presidents head is on fire. Until I hear it from a credible source I don't believe it.

  29. Josh+P. Says:

Principles and ideals go right out the window in an election year... The only Senator worth hardly anything is Russ Feingold.

  30. MagickMuffin Says:

I had to do my blog on this.

Remember that Karl Turd Blossom Rove and Casino Jack Abramoff shared Susan Rolston.
She worked for Casino Jack before becoming Turd Blossom's assistant.

And then who knows how many visits were held outside the strict record keeping of the WH. It's been published that they used to meet on street corners if it was nice outside, if not they would meet up at his Signatures resturant.
Casino Jack, Ralph Reed and Grover Norquist have been freinds since college and they have been friends with Rove just as long.

But of course Mad king Boy George didn't know Jack, he said he didn't know Kenny Boy Lay either. Even though he flew on Kenny Boy's corporate jet when he was campaigning back in 2000. Other than that he didn't know him.
So, I'm sure he doesn't know Jack.

Why would anyone who knows how government works be upset with the party out ofe power?? If the republicans wanted this torture bill and they got it. Their in power (White House, Senante and House of represenatives). Democrats can only watch and scream. The American people are the real losers here because they beleive the attack Ads that will come out in this election cycle. The idiot, the american people, are to lazy to research for themselves the real truth. Therefore the fall for whatever bull@#$% is fed them from their elected official.
