Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who recently mended fences with that “agent of intolerance” Rev. Jerry Falwell, appears in and narrates a new ad for Sen. George Allen (R-VA).
What a pathetic fall from grace for one of our true American heroes. A sad end, groveling before the rightwing powerbrokers that elected George Bush. And now sucking up the likes of George Allen.
There appears to be no depth he will not sink to that would endear himself to the Republican party a desperate attemt to gain the nomination. Because of his honorable service that made me proud to be an American, I will not resort to namecalling. He’s doing that all by himself.
After a great deal of research, I found that “macaca” is actually a sign of respect, especially when said to older white folk in power. So the next time you see Mccain or Allen, feel free to say “Oh, Macaca!” when trying to get their attention. I think they’ll really appreciate you for doing that.

Don’t forget, Joe, about the 2000 election.
Bush smeared the Hell out of him. Now he’s kissing ass? What is with that?
McCain is the chosen ass kisser for now, he’s on a fast pace, last place with Santorem and many others….They are nothing more than water carriers for the water boarders of the reich….Once held in honor through their own actions have been reduced to toilet paper for bush and his regime…Blessings, we need them…Action’s, take them….Peace is not possible untill we clean our house, senate and white house.
First he embraces the guy who, in an earlier campaign, stepped on his neck and smeared his wife and daughter, then he stands on the dais with a racist and a bully. Is there a masochistic trait in McCain? He sure doesn’t act like a leader - he acts like a guy who caves under pressure. What happened to the Viet Nam hero who survived 5 years as POW? He joins the others who approve that Busy can approve torture as he sees fit.
Sorry, McCain, you should retire now before it gets any worse.
The overwhelming power of the Religious Right has destroyed the few things that were positive about the GOP. I can respect a fiscal conservative, but not when they are stumping for hate-mongers like George Allen. Pathetic.
Joe,

I think someone at TP cut Yenta out along with my response. Oh well. I always like reading your posts, trueblue. You, Sharon, and Marie give a good perspective to what otherwise might be a drab evening. (And keep me from getting too vulgar with some of the trolls!)
McCain is a complete fraud > anyone who supports him is certified stupid! Somebody said the torture bill was passed hastily in the Senate today, so does anyone know how many Democrats voted for it and their names? Every one of them must be punished!
There is always a point in life where ones mental facilities start to shut down. For W, that occurred at about 1975. In McCain’s case, it seems to have started as far back as 2003 and definitely by 2005. The problem is that Bush is suffering from drug and alcohol induced dementia while McCain is stepping into senility. In any case, the nation would have been better served if McCain had won the Republican nomination in 2000, regardless of the outcome, but 2008 is another matter. Our nation needs to reinvigorate its scientific and technological base or forever sink into the oblivion of failed societies. We need a leader of caliber, not a sniveling failure or lap puppy.
Ooo, Yenta, I did not see your post but I did see somebodies response to you. I just have to say you are ALL woman. Except for your male aliases…then I just have to say…ewwwwwww.
#20 Here’s the list you requested. I was really surprised by some of the people names on the list. Tip of the hat to DU, for the list:

Johnson (S.D.)
Landrieu (La.)

Lieberman (Conn.)
Menendez (N.J)
Pryor (Ark.)
Rockefeller (W. Va.)
Salazar (Co.)

60% of one group and 80% of the other Suni and Shitite cheer when an American is ambushed and killed in Iraq. These stats tells us that the belief we can remove the bad guys without hurting any good guys is as rediculous as trying to get rid of the Nazis without hurting any Germans.
65% of Americans don’t know why but they do know it’s a disaster. The term to describe it is half assed, the war in Iraq. We must either start killing Iraqis where we find them, the ones that won’t surrender or we have to get hell out on the double.
No Republican administration has ever won a significant foreign war. Iraq is no exception to that rule. We shouldn’t be there in the first place. Stupid enoguh to go there is not a recomendation for what to do now. We need a liberal Democrat, FDR or Truman type to lead us out of this mess.
We are looking at major global conflict with Islam. That’s what bin laden wanted and he’s won. Bush is a double jerk. Bin Laden said it, he would only attack America if America failed to attack him in Afganistan. 9-11 could have been prevented by simply reading the intellegence reports and taking action in Afganistan where we stood, past tense, a chance to win.
guess what everybody. THIS IS THE REAL MCCAIN. mccain isnt the hero you think he is, and this isnt some flaw he has made. this is mccains strategy, he plays everyone, and it is all a ploy.
Aww cmon guys this is a good thing, I mean how many people do you know that listen to Falwell personally, even thru friends of friends. Most people know he’s just a profit$$ and not a prophet.
#36 how would you like to punish them, waterbroard, sleep deprivation, loud music?
I think some real loud music would be appropriate. ;-P
How about Ship of Fools?
Ship Of Fools (Save Me From Tomorrow) Lyrics
We’re setting sail to a place on the map
From which no-one has ever returned
Drawn by the promise of the joker and the fool
By the light of the crosses that burned
Drawn by the promise of the wormen and lace
And the gold and the cotton and pearls
It’s the place where they keep all the darkness you need
You sail away from the light of the world on this trip, baby
You will pay tomorrow
You’re gonna pay tomorrow
You will pay tomorrow
Oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don’t want to sail with this Ship of Fools, no, no
Oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don’t want to sail with this Ship of Fools
I want to run and hide
Right now
Avarice and greed are gonna drive you over the endless sea
They will leave you drifting in the shallows
Drowning in the oceans of history
Traveling the world, you’re in search of no good
But I’m sure you’ll build your Sodom like you knew you would
Using all the good people for your galley slaves
As your little boat struggles through the warning waves
But you don’t, pay
You will pay tomorrow
You’re gonna pay tomorrow
You’re gonna pay tomorrow
Oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don’t want to sail with this Ship of Fools, no, no
Oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don’t want to sail with this Ship of Fools, no, no
Where’s it coming from
Oh, Where’s it going now
It’s just a, it’s just a Ship of Fools
#2 What a pathetic fall from grace for one of our true American heroes
No way has this guy ever qualified as a hero. Heroes are imbued with qualities that set them apart from the mainstream. Mc Cain does not have honor, integrity nor has he ever exhibited the courage of his convictions and tell it like it is.
I thought Colin Powell’s fall was tragic, what I see McCain doing is perhaps the equal. Consider, a Nam vet/prisoner of war, hung out to dry in South Carolina by the GW campaign in 2000. One would think that, if anything, McCain would be a bit more sensitve to political attacks that he apparently is. I forgot to mention his support of torture! Is he still a credible candidate for the GOP nomination in 08? If so, how low can they go?
The article “Senate delivers tribunal bill†by Kate Zernike gives America a black eye in its image in advancing the global cause for Democracy. The Senate joined the House in passing an ill-conceived legislation, the Military Commissions Act of 2006 that disregards key human rights protections. This is a crack of doom of our best American traditions. This legislation, in effect, gives its stamp of approval to human rights violations. To begin with this establishes a new judicial system to try a wide variety of people in military commissions that lack the minimal safeguard in denying the accused the right to examine evidence against him. A person can be executed in this flawed system. This also strips an accused “enemy combatant†to file a writ of habeas corpus to challenge his detention. Any prisoner, American or not, can be held in prison indefinitely without a charge or judicial review. Worse, this provides retroactive immunity to those who may have been implicated in creating policies or participating in torture and other inhuman treatment. This is the core for the Miliary Commission Act—to bail out the Bush administration’s involvement in authorizing torture in Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib Prison.
Will the real John McCain please come back from wherever he has gone? Who IS this apologist for the worst examples of misgovernment in modern times?
