During a joint appearance on The Factor, Paul Begala and James Carville cited information from Think Progress that confirmed Chris Wallace never asked Bush officials about their response to the USS Cole bombing.
Rather than deal with the facts, O’Reilly attacked Think Progress and Media Matters as “hired guns” who practice “smear” tactics. He has resorted to name-calling before; in his new book, Culture Warrior, O’Reilly calls us “vile.” Watch it:
Transcript:
O’REILLY: This is ridiculous. There were legitimate questions. Wallace grills Rumsfeld. I grilled Rumsfeld. And come on.
CARVILLE: First of all, I don’t think that FOX has been fair to Bill Clinton. I like you. I like Chris Wallace. I like Sean Hannity. I don’t think in any way, shape or form that…
O’REILLY: Give me an example of unfairness.
CARVILLE: You know, just like Bill Clinton said, you never asked him — how many times was Rice on that show?
BEGALA: Twenty-three.
CARVILLE: How many times was Rumsfeld on that show?
BEGALA: Nine.
O’REILLY: What are you talking about?
CARVILLE: Chris Wallace’s show.
BEGALA: Chris Wallace, this is what the President said…
O’REILLY: Does this come from Media Matters? Is that where this comes from?
BEGALA: They’re a great website. Do you ever read them?
CARVILLE: They’re totally documented.
O’REILLY: Hired guns.
BEGALA: Actually, that didn’t. That came from the Center from American Progress, ThinkProgress.
O’REILLY: These far left web sites you guys take this information off, these are paid to smear people they disagree with. Do your own research.
If there was ever a most traitorous person to American ideals and standards, it is Bill O’Reilly. He opposes everything that our soldiers fought and died for in previous wars.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:10 pmCongrats on yet more free publicity. The more bad-mouthing Bill does, the more visitors you’ll get. Even his loyal fans will be enticed to come over to see what all the fuss is about.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:12 pmO’Reilly is vile
September 28th, 2006 at 1:12 pmIts a shame TV news doesn’t air corrections. If O’reilly ever did any fact checking on his show, he’d have to spend 50 minutes correcting all the lies and misleading facts he gives.

September 28th, 2006 at 1:12 pmThere’s pay for speaking the truth? No way! The truth is priceless!!!
It’s the lies that’ll cost you, BO. They’ll cost you Big Time.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:13 pmALRIGHT! Bill O’Reilly hates us! Life is good!

September 28th, 2006 at 1:19 pmo’reilly is merely a pimple on the ass of honest, ethical public dialogue in this country… he’s the r’s version of jon stewart, without the humor…
And, yes, I DO take it personally
September 28th, 2006 at 1:20 pmCost of a laptop $975.00
Cost of a monthly internet service $24.95
Cost of calling out lying self serving blowhards like Bill Oreilly = Priceless.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:20 pmIn the spirit of being vile.
To the Bill watchers who have come to read this blog:
Did you know your man Bill sexually harrassed a female co-worker and discussed using vibrators?
Did you know your man lies so you can hear what you want to hear?
Did you know all popular blogs have funding sources, and the people who post here are not paid to do so? (except the right wingers who come here).
Blogs are a relatively new phenominon, and the establishment is getting their feathers ruffled by counterpoints and challenges to their assertions.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:22 pmHe’s talking about himself…and these people grilled Rumsfeld? Thanks for the comedy.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:24 pmNo one has been able to pin down O’Reilly on what exactly he considers a “smear”. Challenge him to provide one example and he can’t. Tell him that Media Matters just posts what he says, in full context, and he says, “No they don’t.” But he can’t come up with a single example of either TP or MMfA being wrong about him. And yet, he still hasn’t admitted that he was wrong, twice, about Malmedy.
Bill, when they tell the truth about you, it’s not a “smear”, it’s a “fact.” Obviously, that’s another word whose definition you don’t know.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:25 pmOh, yeah, by the by, TP my direct deposit account number (in secret code)

You mean this isn’t a smear site?
September 28th, 2006 at 1:29 pmWell that’s a fine how-do-you-do
You folks aren’t “vile” – you are idiots!
Was George Bush our president when the cole was bombed? No, Clinton was.
Did Clinton do anything to avenge the Cole bombing? No, not a single thing. It was only much later, after 9/11, that the Bush adminsitration was able to locate and go after the Cole bombers.
When the 2000 election result was still in doubt, and Bush officials asked for office space to begin a transition process, did Clinton agree? No, he did everything possible to thwart any effort by Bush to begin organizing for a change of power.
BTW, after Bush was finally inaugurated, did Clinton support an early confirmation of Bush DOJ nominees, so that they could begin getting up to speed on the terrorist threats against our country? No, it took months to confirm former Senator John Ashcroft as Attorney General, and not once did Clinton lift a finger to support his confirmation on grounds that the nation’s security was more impoortant than partisan politics.
There are plenty of transcripts of Chris Wallace ands others asking tough questions of the Bush administration. In the meantime, I’m actually glad Clinton has made himself the focus of attention again, so that Clinton apologists like TP can remind everyone of what a selfish, egotistical and ineffective leader this man truly was. The judgment of history will be unkind to you all.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:32 pmOh, Bile-O, you’re becoming such and asshole…
This from a… man… of sorts, that claims that he never goes on personal attacks. At some point his, and Fox 24-Hour Comedy Channel’s entire demographic will consist solely of Vice President Palpatine…
September 28th, 2006 at 1:32 pmHow dare they bring in facts and examples that are documented!!! That type of accurate information that would let people decide is exactly what’s wrong with America.
At least that’s what I read into what phoney Bill said.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:32 pmO’Reilly is only a blow hard bully from Long Island who both loves and hates himself first and foremost. and is best ignored.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:33 pmWhassamatter, Bill? Can’t take a little of your own medicine…. what a WIMP.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:33 pmWe’re all on o’liely’s HIT list?…….yeah…..HERE COMES FOX SECURITY!!!..run everyone………..call my girlfriend and talk dirty billie….
September 28th, 2006 at 1:33 pmCitizen Dad,
We are not the “idots”. And you need to familiarize yourself with the facts before you decide to condemn others.
Have a nice day. Peace to you.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:36 pmOh, that’s rich, coming from O’Reilly.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:36 pmHey, O’Lielly: Name one “smear” that wasn’t a fact. The smears are from your Republican/conservative operatives posing as TP posters.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:36 pmO’Reilly hates America. He hates freedom and he hates democracy. And above all else he hates the truth.
I have long surmised that certain right wing posters at this site, those who predictably spew the daily RNC talking points, are GOP party operatives being paid to work the TP beat.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:36 pmThis is the perfect opportunity for this Bush Bloviator to get Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and any other of the “Follow me or else ” gang and clear the air. Ask them why was Clarke demoted? Why wasn’t anything done about the Cole incident on their watch?
Actually Countdown had a great segment on that last night. TP could you post that time line for the benifit of us all?
September 28th, 2006 at 1:36 pmObviously, that should be “idiots”. We’re not “idiots”, but some of us are bad typists.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:37 pmCitizen+Dad
Care to provide any links there mate?
September 28th, 2006 at 1:37 pmBill,
what a puss. Even on our worst day we did not drink Clinton’s Koolaid. We knew he was a liar, (like all politico’s) but he was doing what this country needed. The right will never admit that Bush is a LIAR!!!
Texas Juice
September 28th, 2006 at 1:37 pmWOW! We made O’Lielly’s hit list! This is like being on Nixon’s enemies list! A badge of honor!
September 28th, 2006 at 1:38 pmRight now on Fox News, they are describing the Clinton-Wallace interview as an “assault on journalists”. What irony! The hypocrisy is breathtaking. And one Fox/GOP mouthpiece made the obligatory reference to Monica. Such comedy!
September 28th, 2006 at 1:38 pmJust watched a report on Irwin’s untimely death. Why is it that guys like O’Reilly never go swmming with stingrays?
September 28th, 2006 at 1:42 pmThe neck of an empty bottle of Night Train was poking out of Bill’s suit pocket in the video. Look very carefully.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:44 pmCitizen Dad hasn’t a clue, and 9/11 was on Bush’s watch. Why do people ignore the facts? Wallace was fact checked and never asked those obvious questions to our current admin.
What a waste of time trying to debate GOP’er’s. Even with plain spoken facts in front of them, they say the opposite. WTF?
September 28th, 2006 at 1:45 pmYou liberals are just teed-off that O’Reilly became so popular and that exposes liberals and liberalism, just like Rush, Hannity, Savage, etc….
Get over it …. and realize that now we finally have channels to expose you liberals for what you really are.
Your war on Christmas was exposed and now Americans are saying “NO” to you GOD Hating, Homo Loving bunch of nutjobs.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:46 pmWhat a waste of time trying to debate GOP’er’s. Even with plain spoken facts in front of them, they say the opposite. WTF?

September 28th, 2006 at 1:48 pmWhat’s your going rate for posting for O’Reilly? I think I’m not getting paid enough to post…are you making more than ZERO?
Gee, you’d think B.O. fact checks what spews from his mouth!
September 28th, 2006 at 1:49 pmMr. self-righteous. The pontificator of all things putrid.
Media Matters backs up what they report with documentation (transcripts or video, etc.) What does B.O. back up his comments with — bulls**t.

September 28th, 2006 at 1:49 pmOLiely your an IDIOT!
September 28th, 2006 at 1:49 pmI think the rate at which (apparently) new right wing Bush loving zombies like Citizen Dad are showing up at this site is a pretty good indication that GOP strategists care what is written here, and are worried by what happens here. It demonstrates the success of this site. They know they are getting hurt by the blog world, to which more and more Americans are turning to learn and discuss the truth.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:50 pmGood G-Dawg, good boy. You’re trying out some new words and phrases, now. Atta, boy! Why, in a few years maybe we’ll have you actually telling the truth. Now, sit, stay.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:51 pmAs Bill says – give one example. Let’s see some cold hard confirmable examples of the things you state about O’Reilly. Of course he is entertaining, its a TV show. We wouldn’t watch some boring idiot. How hard is it to state that:
most traitorous person to American ideals and standards, it is Bill O’Reilly
Its a shame TV news doesn’t air corrections. If O’reilly ever did any fact checking on his show, he’d have to spend 50 minutes correcting all the lies and misleading facts he gives.
As for examples – before Mutt and Jeff came on Bill showed Chris Wallace asking Rumsfeld the same ? Except Rumsfeld didn’t fly off the handle about it.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:52 pm#20, You exemplify why ignorance is bliss.
Was George Bush our president when the cole was bombed? No, Clinton was.
Those behind the Cole incident were not known until it was transition time in the White House. Bush got the info in the first days in office – he sat on it and did nothing. Bush is the do-nothing president.

September 28th, 2006 at 1:53 pm#20
On who’s watch did 9/11 occur?
Where are the perpetrators of that? What has Bush done for 5 years to resolve it — why he has invaded a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.
Ignorance is bliss. That’s why you can sleep at night.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:55 pmI apologize to #20 , my last two comments are directed to #18 CitizenDad.
September 28th, 2006 at 1:56 pmI think it’s funny that Bill O’Reilly’s ratings have been in a freefall since 2001, and shows no signs of slowing down. I guess when you’re a practiced liar, people don’t want to hear it. It’s even funnier when it’s Bill himself that’s part of his so-called “war on Christmas” by seeling “Holiday Ornaments” on his own web site, rather than “Christmas Ornaments”!
Ha! I guess they’ll have to declare that there’s a war on Bill’s IQ to explain why he lies so often. . . .
“”Young viewers just don’t watch The O’Reilly Factor like they used to. April marked Bill O’Reilly’s lowest-rated month in the 25-54 demographic since August 2001.*
His 415,000 demo viewers in March was a new low, but O’Reilly managed to lose a few more in April, averaging 412,000 in the demo. Here’s his post-Katrina track:
Sept: 1,115 / Oct: 518 / Nov: 468 / Dec: 460 / Jan: 472 / Feb: 458 / Mar: 415
But this trend started long before the hurricane. for O’Reilly, April’s numbers reflected his lowest demo rating in almost five years.
Among total viewers, O’Reilly delivered a respectable 2,102,000 million viewers for the month. But that, too, was low — the lowest, in fact, since July of 2004 (when he had 2,042,000). ”

Congress had tried to stop the FCC from killing the fairness doctrine. Two months earlier, it had sent President Reagan the Fairness in Broadcasting Act of 1987 (S. 742, 100th Cong., 1st Sess. [1987]), which would have codified the doctrine in federal law. The president vetoed it.

September 28th, 2006 at 2:03 pmRecipe for grilled chickenhawk;
One fifth of Jack Daniels
2 cups of cayenne pepper
One gallon of hydrogenated crisco
marinate chickenhawk for a couple of years in the Jack.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:04 pmwhen fully stewed, douse it with crisco and roll in cayenne.
Bake for a couple of minutes, then hold a press conference.
Ask the chickenhawk if it knows how long it was marinating.
Ask it if it has enough time in the bottle to make intelligent decisions.
Ask it if it thinks it has enough of the spices it went in the oven with.
It will probably answer, that it knows some of the crisco it rolled in, but wouldn’t know about the pepper it doesn’t sneeze on.
And there really isn’t any way to predict if cooking it longer would make sure it was done or not, as that is one of the things we don’t know if we know.
Nobody has to pay me to smear O’Lielly…

You perverts have a problem with sex… so you freaked out about an affair.
You people hate intelligent people because they embarass you. And you hate Bill Clinton because he’s a genius.
Bush did absolutely NOTHING for eight months except fire the counter-terrorism chief. Bush and Osama are entirely responsible for 9/11, and you know it. BUSH HAD KNOWLEGDE OF SUICIDE HIJACKERS AND DID NOT WARN THE PUBLIC… HE WANTED AN ATTACK TO JUSTIFY AN ASSAULT ON THE MIDDLE EAST.
You Reptiles would support anything he does because you are blind worshippers of your satanic leader. You are fools of the highest order, and dangerous to real democracy and peace.

What did the Reptiles expose about Liberals? That we are sick of the religious delusional morons trying to force their fantasies on us, trying to force their 10 commandments in MY kid’s schools? Trying to tell women what they can and can’t do with something in their own bodies?
Who tries to kill Christmas? No One! Do people have the right to have religious symbology removed from publicly owned places – damned right! The progressives are on the move, and cannot be stopped. Good luck with your ancient “beliefs” (that get a lot of innocents killed).

September 28th, 2006 at 2:21 pmOkay Citizen + Dad, since you laid down the gauntlet and are eager to battle….LET’S GO!
You folks aren’t “vile†– you are idiots!
Well, that’s one way to start up a debate. Once you start name calling, you’ve pretty much lost all respectiblity in any discussion (but I’m sure you already know that.
When the 2000 election result was still in doubt, and Bush officials asked for office space to begin a transition process, did Clinton agree? No, he did everything possible to thwart any effort by Bush to begin organizing for a change of power.
Ummmmm, care to provide a link that proves this (you know, one of those “non partisan” sites) I will bet any amount of money you still believe the thoroughly debunked myth that the Clinton administration removed all the “w”s from the White House keyboards and had graphic pictures of pornography on several White House computers.
PS Nice strawman
BTW, after Bush was finally inaugurated, did Clinton support an early confirmation of Bush DOJ nominees, so that they could begin getting up to speed on the terrorist threats against our country? No, it took months to confirm former Senator John Ashcroft as Attorney General, and not once did Clinton lift a finger to support his confirmation on grounds that the nation’s security was more impoortant than partisan politics.
This particular strawman is interesting, but irrelivant.
One name: RICHARD CLARKE
Next!
Please provide those “plenty of transcripts”
As for a reminder of what a selfish, egotistical and ineffective leader Clinton was; I believe over 68% of the American people will disagree with that statement. And why the hell will the judgement of history be unkind to me? That makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE!
Well thanks for playing, have a great day, enjoy your kool-aid, and don’t forget to turn off the lights when you leave!
September 28th, 2006 at 2:23 pmPresident Bush’s job approval rating has climbed to 42% – to the dismay and hate of Democrats. No matter how hard they try to bash our country, our president, and protect terrorists they seem to run amuck.

Dems not all the facts!
The president’s approval rating rose among registered voters from 41 percent in late June to 44 percent in the new poll, with 54 percent disapproving.
54% is greater than 44%. Dats a fact!
Democrats hold a lead in the poll, 49 percent to 39 percent, when registered voters are asked which party they intend to support for Congress this year.
49% is greater than 39%. Dats a fact!
Oh, and here’s a link, I like to use sources.

The fact that all the Reptilian talk shows are popular is exactly what is wrong with this country. Most Americans are stupid (51 percent according to the last election results).
Bush’s approval has climbed to 42? Wow! And, yes, that fact is very upsetting to Democrats – it means that people are still not learning anything. Surprised?
September 28th, 2006 at 2:27 pm#77 that poll is from Fox.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:28 pmWar on Christmas? You mean, this war on Christmas?
September 28th, 2006 at 2:28 pmSTOP lying to the American people! You know Democrats rely on felons, illegal aliens, dead people, and people voting more than one time in order to win anything.
That is why Democrats are so fiercely against IDs for voters.
Dem da facts!
September 28th, 2006 at 2:29 pmG-DAWG
Again Your an idiot!!!!!
THE Media IN AMERICA IS NO LONGER FREE
IT IS CONTROLLED BY 6 PEOPLE!!!!!!
BUT you wouldnt KNOW that because well your a BUSHBOT.
The largely unpublicized Telecommunications Act of 1996 set the modern tone of “deregulation,” a relaxing of percentage constrictions that solidified the previous history of privatizing the utility and commodifying the spectrum. The legislation, touted as a step that would foster competition, actually resulted in the subsequent mergers of several large companies, a trend which still continues.Disney, Viacom (and its spinoff CBS Corporation), Time Warner, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, Bertelsmann, and General Electric together own more than 90% of the media holdings in the United States
And where do you think America is rated as having a FREE PRESS?
http://www.rsf.org/rubrique.php3?id_rubrique=554
Yeah were #44 (FRIGiN SAD)
IN THE WORDS OF YOUR BUDDY OLIELY….SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!
September 28th, 2006 at 2:29 pmOooh, I feel so “vile” now, being caught in the act of requiring FACTS and TRUTH. Shame on me. Now that O’Reilly has admonished us all for being so unreasonable, can we ask that he take a flying leap into the dung heap from which he emerged?
September 28th, 2006 at 2:31 pmHere’s some more polls. News viewers
FOX – Aug 2005 — 1,001,000 — Aug 2006 — 933,000 – 7% drop
September 28th, 2006 at 2:31 pmCNN – Aug 2005 — 433,000 — Aug 2006 — 584,000 – 35% increase
MSNBC – Aug 2005 — 220,000 — Aug 2006 — 277,000 – 26% increase
STOP lying to the American people! You know Democrats rely on felons, illegal aliens, dead people, and people voting more than one time in order to win anything.
That is why Democrats are so fiercely against IDs for voters.
Dem da facts!
Ummmm, source for your facts please? Did G-Dawg tell you so? It was probably in the latest Tiger Beat.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:31 pmIt’s right-wing hatemongers like O’Reilly that give American media and journalism such a horible name.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:33 pmJustqDog
No, Dem da baseless accusations.
and Trolls.
83 was a really clumsy attempt at impersonation, and a real sign that you are in fact retarded. Buh-bye.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:33 pmG-Dawg,
O’LIELLY’s and FAUX ratings are dropping faster than this current administration’s ratings. Your useless words on here are well, useless.
Go out and preach your nonsense to your other friends, you know the 30% that have not signed on for a real administration to take over and start rebuilding this nation properly. Good luck, and don’t worry our new administration will put policies in place to benefit even people like yourself, the 30% that will be ranting and raving for years and years after most of this current administration is serving time in prison.
In the year 2000 I predicted this administration would be the most indicted and convicted administration in the history of the US and everyone thought I was kidding.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:35 pmBaseless? Just Google the topic and see all of the fury of Democrats trying to block voter ID.
Like you care about facts?
Not!
September 28th, 2006 at 2:41 pm93 Bruce Gorton
OK, so it was a lousy impersonation. However, I am not retarded and I’m on your side and was attempting to make fun of “puppy-love” G-Dawg. Does that mean I have to go??
September 28th, 2006 at 2:43 pmAnd what does sexual preditor O’Reilly call what he does on his show? WTF is wrong with these people. It’s okay for the neofascists to lie about and smear others but it’s wrong when honest Americans tell the truth about the neofascists.
Can’t trust Republicans to speak the truth and never, ever trust them with your money.
Privatize Rick Santorum
September 28th, 2006 at 2:45 pmBaseless? Baseless? Just google the topic of Republicans and Hardly Ever Get Laid and watch all the NEOCONS get flustered and scurry
Dem da facts, jack!
See, two can play at this game
September 28th, 2006 at 2:46 pmSo, TP, where’s my check for speaking the truth?
September 28th, 2006 at 2:47 pmJustqDog, I googled “voter ID” and got 1.69 million hits. Care to be a little more specific. Link an objective article stating that:
“Democrats rely on felons, illegal aliens, dead people, and people voting more than one time in order to win anything.
That is why Democrats are so fiercely against IDs for voters”
Because that’s what you stated as fact.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:48 pmJustqDog
Baseless. First of all a national ID would not prevent a Democrat hacking the Diebold machines and rigging the elections that way if they wanted (And the machines are highly susceptable to just that, an issue liberal sources have brought up repeatedly, asking for auditable paper trails) and second the Democrats are already in the lead in most states according to the polls.
Third the national ID just adds expense to what is already a system which is working fine, that is, unless you think there is something fishy about all of those elections your Republicans keep winning. Do you think there is something fishy going on there?
September 28th, 2006 at 2:49 pmI never see Rube-ublicans accuse the left of straw man arguments. Do they know what it means?
September 28th, 2006 at 2:50 pmThe more an animal is cornered, the more dangerous it becomes. My aren’t the trolls fierce.
Writing is on the wall, the pendulum is swinging, there will be a new sheriff in town. Many different ways to say it but the facts are the country wants a change. It’s time the current Republotiles hand over the keys. Conservatives are best at the minority anyways. They’re good at whining and saying they could do better but terrible at actually making that happen.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:50 pmPatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC)
Nah sorry, I thought it was someone impersonating you. It was the exact sort of thing a particularly clumsy troll would do.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:51 pmLooks like G-Dawg has a ghost writer now. Post 101 does not have all the spelling and grammatical errors.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:51 pmG-Dawg, on another thread, you equated dissent with treason. I challenged you to find one quote in context from anyone who signed our constitution that would support this fascist position of yours. In response, you ran off like a little bitch to another thread. Come on, you unamerican little bitch. Find one founder who shares your view that dissent equals treason. If you can’t find a founder who shares your view, you are, by definition, unamerican. Now slink back to your stinking little hole.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:51 pmG-Dawg, keep spouting slurs and mindless hate. Even the other trolls will back away from you.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:51 pm#101
September 28th, 2006 at 2:51 pmG-dawg….how does it feel to be a bigot?
LOL O’Reilly is just a paid GOP whore, so who cares what he thinks about ThinkProgress and anti-Bush posters like me on here! He can kiss my ASS!
September 28th, 2006 at 2:53 pmBruce Gorton
September 28th, 2006 at 2:53 pmWhew! Thanks for watching my backside, though. I have to remember the “sarcasm off” signs when these goofy moods hit me.
I’m a conservative. I don’t get paid to come to this site. I came to find out what the progressives are all about. What they believe in. As it turns out, it’s just hate for anything they don’t agree with.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:54 pmCan we get a show of hands from the other trolls, who else think G-Dawg might be just a bit of a bigot? Maybe a little.
G-Dawg, remember, set the base of the cross into the hole in the family’s front yard BEFORE lighting it. It’s real tough to set it up once the flames are whipping wildly.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:54 pmG-Dawg – Teddy Roosvelt’s calling you out…
“Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President or any other public official save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country.â€
September 28th, 2006 at 2:55 pm-Theodore Roosevelt
“To announce there must be no criticism of the President, and to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, it is morally treasonous to the American public.â€
– President Theodore Roosevelt
Are you unpatriotic, servile, morally treasonous or all three?
Coffins+……hey, do we get PAID for telling the truth???…..you took the words right out of my mouth..lol.
September 28th, 2006 at 2:56 pmBillie you fool, the truth is FREE, and CANNOT BE CHANGED, OR BOUGHT OR SOLD. Seeing how you get paid to LIE…you just don’t understand us do you.

September 28th, 2006 at 2:57 pmG-Dawg is gettin the SMACKDOWN!!!!
September 28th, 2006 at 2:58 pmFACTS G-DUMBASS FACTS!!!
it’s just hate for anything they don’t agree with.
Comment by Kevin — September 28, 2006 @ 2:54 pm
No, It only becomes hate when one is attacked. you know, when someone starts a post with “you liberal Idiots” or “you homo loving morons”, …etc.
But I do have a challenge for you, Kevin. Go to a right wing blog, pretend to be liberal, or a progressive, and without attacking anyone, just post “I think President Bush may be wrong about Iraq” I betcha 10 to 1 odds you wont get a response like “well, golly gee, I disagree, but let’s discuss this in a civilized and friendly matter”
September 28th, 2006 at 3:00 pmThere’s you challenge, please report back soon
As if “pot-smoking homos” are dangerous and George Bush’s anti-American policies aren’t. Nice try at a side-show, G-Dawg, but you forgot the dogs and ponies.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:00 pmI wish I got paid for posting here!
Does this mean I can bill FOX for the time I spend researching the bogus claims made by the “trolls” on this site?
September 28th, 2006 at 3:01 pmPeople might want to bring this one up as well to O’Rielly. When Bush received warning about Bin Laden he went on vacation!!! The schudule of his vacation is there as well for 2 weeks.
http://www.americanprogress.org/site/pp.asp?c=biJRJ8OVF&b=45265
Despite this clear warning, President Bush did nothing to increase the urgency of the government’s efforts to stop al Qaeda. President Bush yesterday amazingly claimed that he did everything he could to fight domestic terrorism. Yet after the Aug. 6 memo, he stayed on vacation for two more weeks. He convened no high level meetings. And he did not bring the government to “battle stations” as Rice misleadingly stated last week.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:03 pmRather than deal with the facts, O’Reilly attacked Think Progress and Media Matters as “hired guns†who practice “smear†tactics.
Cry me a f***ing river, Bill. Pulling the layers back and letting the light in – and the truth exposed – only makes his and the other conservative wingnut media hacks retorts and defense more pitiful every day.
They’re glory time is waning and they’re in the sliding into biggest s***hole of their Fox/media careers because more and more people are waking up and taking a stand against their foaming at the mouth, ego driven and calculated fear mongering.
Bravo, Think Progress!
September 28th, 2006 at 3:05 pmNaw O’Lielly is plugging his book on smearing the S-P [Secular Progressives] see O’lielly hates Civil law [Secular society] and he hates the progress that made America great, He hates the great melting pot of the world.
So Tighty Whitey O’Lielly must attack the civil peaceful people, the melting pot, that make America what it is =)
September 28th, 2006 at 3:07 pmWhen you think of O’Lielly just think of Archie Bunker with a Falafel and microphone!
Thank you DRxJ for the civil point. From this very blog:

1) Homosexuals and pedophiles are NOT the same!
2) You must think the American who wrote the following is a traitor:
“In every country where man is free to think and to speak, differences of opinion will arise from difference of perception, and the imperfection of reason; but these differences when permitted, as in this happy country, to purify themselves by free discussion, are but as passing clouds overspreading our land transiently and leaving our horizon more bright and serene.” –Thomas Jefferson to Benjamin Waring, 1801. September 28th, 2006 at 3:16 pmShouldn’t Falafel O’Lielly be hiding out in a bunker somewhere with Slick Cheney?? I mean, per the gigantic head himself, he is on Al-Qaeda’s hit list you know…. what a clown
September 28th, 2006 at 3:16 pmIt was 44 the other day LOL! It dropped 2 points. Heh.[now take out the +- 4-6%] 42%-6%=36%
Yeh Bush is really soaring! lol!
September 28th, 2006 at 3:17 pmKevin
G-Dawg’s first post on this thread:
As for attacks on O’Reilly
So yeah Kevin, DRxJ’s post holds fairly true.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:17 pmO’Reilly has zero credibility – after his phone sex debacle, he’s become a total laughingstock. He’s a caracature! He has nothing constructive to say, his faux attempts at using some emotion look pretty impotent, and his physical presence is repulsive – need I say more? O’Reilly, who? He’s “yesteray’s news”! Is he still on the air?
September 28th, 2006 at 3:17 pmI can’t watch that stupid show because no one is allowed to speak. Any sentence that doesn’t start out sounding like it is in agreement is spoken over top of vehemently. Blech!
Anyway, thanks for the new kicks, TP!! I can run higher and jump faster!!
September 28th, 2006 at 3:19 pmMaybe O’Reilly will have a career in “clowing” soon since his ratings are tanking???

Oh, please, NO!!! I am involved in clowning, a noble performance art which brings truth and laughter to people. “O’Reilly the Clown” just makes me what to vomit.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:23 pmPatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC)
Isn’t being a clown one of the more demanding parts in a circus? I don’t think O’Reilly has the brains nor the fitness for there to be much of a threat of him becoming one.

Agreed. That’s why I thanked him. But my point (and I admit I didn’t make it well) is you can’t excuse bad behavior by doing the same. I try to avoid calling people names. I would much rather discuss ideas and promote understanding from both sides.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:31 pmGOPigs!
No, think of Richie Rich crossed with Ted Bundy.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:32 pmLook you little freepers, you must get your hate mail right!
How many times must we go over the 7 basic rules of hatemail for you FreeRepublic Rushbo Hannatites?
September 28th, 2006 at 3:32 pm
Only two troll posts in the past 35 minutes. I guess it’s time to pack up and move on. It’s been nice playing “smack the troll” with all you guys. Until next time, ladies and gentlemen, remember: “To conserve the Constitution, we must apply it liberally”. And you may quote me.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:35 pm-Bruce Gorton
Hey! maybe a Randy Michaels [rubber penis wearer and frat boy extraordinaire of Clear Channel] crossed with Charles Manson!!!
September 28th, 2006 at 3:36 pmKevin
The thing of it is is guys like G-Dawg and such aren’t really worth debating. They come here with the fixed idea that they are going to insult us, call us liars, and we are going to take it because we are just sissy liberals. We can give as good as we get and if someone is interested in meaningful debate we can switch over to that too, well, most of us anyway.
There is the odd occassional conservative who is willing to argue sensibly, and that conservative (a guy called coachjason is an excellent example) is often treat with a lot of respect. The thing of it is, when you have the people who are there just to attack, it gets in the way honest debate so we may as well vent spleen.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:37 pmI’m a conservative. I don’t get paid to come to this site. I came to find out what the progressives are all about. What they believe in. As it turns out, it’s just hate for anything they don’t agree with.

September 28th, 2006 at 3:55 pmno chance of that.
September 28th, 2006 at 3:56 pmIs there anything really debatable about this thread? Of course there is with the individual postings but about the subject of this thread? I’d like to see the opposing view backed up with facts and then the debate can begin.
September 28th, 2006 at 4:00 pmAnyone else bother to read justqdogs blog? Big surprise: He’s a hateful propagandist.
September 28th, 2006 at 4:06 pmBill O’Reilly is just another hypocritical nasty dry drunk. His show is just an ego feed for him. But he is leading the fight for Xmas against all the grinches out there, so he must be good!(Bushbot logic)
September 28th, 2006 at 4:16 pm#70 – Yeah, you’re right on the cook needing the JD, but the “virgin” olive oil must be reserved for Bill O’RiledUp.
September 28th, 2006 at 4:22 pmOnce again, I get to say that I told you so. You beat your chest like you are bad-asses, itching for a fight, until you do receive the negative attention you evoke, then you cry like bitches – every last one of you.
You have finally awakened the sleeping giant, and not a moment too soon. Christian conservatives and moderate Dems now see that you went from harmless looney’s to malicious perpetrators – now you must be destroyed.
You will be ground into dust beneath our feet – endlessly and relentlessly – congratulations on getting noticed.
September 28th, 2006 at 4:30 pmBill O’Reilly calling someone “hired guns paid to smear people”? Now if that isn’t the pot calling the kettle black. Actually, it’s a Rovian tactic: accuse your opponent of whatever you yourself are guilty of. O’Reilly is an actor, spewing conservative garbage with no basis in fact or reality–in place of which he uses those very smear tactics he pretends to decry. I can’t wait for a late-in-life or deathbed confession: If only someone would truth-serum him into admitting his whole “conservative tough-guy” routine is just an act today.
September 28th, 2006 at 4:43 pmTelling the truth—it’s the only smear tactic O’Reilly doesn’t use…
September 28th, 2006 at 4:43 pmJason, you are dust beneath our feet. Go away.
September 28th, 2006 at 4:54 pmbtru,
Reps lose in November?
We’ve had that conversation – I have extended an invitation to you to be on this site the day after the election, so that we can discuss the results. Your comment the other day was that you expect to lose, because of Diebold voting machines, Fox News, yada, yada, yada ….
Progs are unwilling to work within the federal and state processes established by our founding fathers as a fair means for everyone to be represented, and use any means to gum up the works – that is unpatriotic and unAmerican.
September 28th, 2006 at 5:18 pm“Paid to smear people they disagree with”
And O’Reilly’s job is what exactly?
September 28th, 2006 at 5:22 pmWow! Congrats. This is a real honor for you guys!
September 28th, 2006 at 5:49 pmAmerica’s Least Wanted
Strange, doesn’t o’reilly get paid a lot more money to smear people that he disagrees with? Double standard anyone?
September 28th, 2006 at 6:07 pmI’m surprised O’Rielly had the time to pay attention to TP given his psychosis otherwise known as his radio show, his significant falafel addiction, and his sexual harrasment lawsuits.
September 28th, 2006 at 6:12 pmInteresting that O’Reilly brings on the 2 biggest lib attack dogs on the planet and I thought you lefties would be happy. The right loves an honest, intellectual debate but it seems all you folks want is to smear and name call….

September 28th, 2006 at 6:30 pm
O’Lielly just sold 100,000 more books-it’s as simple as that. I don’t think he gives a crap one way or the other and laughs all the way to the bank just like anne.

Yes, and that’s so obvious from Bill’s immediate response of “Hired Guns”. etc. Doesn’t he realize that Media Matters and Think Progress have the video? He’s even stupider than he looks!
September 28th, 2006 at 6:54 pmHomer Simpson: “The right loves an honest, intellectual debate but it seems all you folks want is to smear and name call….”
Homer, were you in a coma between the years 1993 and 2000?
September 28th, 2006 at 7:24 pmto a wingnut, reality-based truth = smear. Therefore O’Lielly is technically correct.
September 28th, 2006 at 7:28 pm.
the only valid point this douchebag has is “do your own research” that’s the only intelligent thing that ive ever heard fom fox news… other then that he’s a fascist asshole :)
September 28th, 2006 at 7:31 pmCITIZEN DAD
It seems you suffer from the same ailment as Bill. Fox news. declared GWB winner before the votes were counted. Other news agencies followed suit.
Then came the “hanging chad” issue where we found out that if your brother is the governot of Florida, you can fix an election and get away with it.
As a result, it would have been impossible to allow the GWB administration to transition in when there was doubt as to their legitamacy.
It is the Congress who approves the Attorney General, and not the outgoing president. It would not have been prudent for Congress to approve the appointment of Ashcroft, when the results of the fixed election was in doubt.
So you see, But For GWB fixing the election, there would have been no delays in going after those who bombed USS Cole. Therefore, it was GWB’s fault that these terrorists slipped throught the crack and not Clinton’s.
September 28th, 2006 at 7:34 pmUncle Ho #164
Yeah, I volunteered in ‘75, but I sure as hell would not now. I would just be a pawn in Bush’s genocidal and futile war on “terror” which is increasing terrorism.
Is it just me, or does anyone else realize the war on terror cannot be won by military means? Certainly those who have terrorized or are training to should be “taken out”. But bombing Iraq and killing more innocent civilians than Al Quada makes our “war on terror” some kind of sick, dangerous, demented, ironic, terrible joke.

“Bush got the info in the first days in office – he sat on it and did nothing.”
http://www.globalsecurity.org/intell/systems/armed-predator.htm
“The deaths in Yemen of six suspected al-Qaida terrorists, including a key planner in the bloody attack on a American destroyer two years ago, were the work of a missile fired by a unmanned US aircraft. On 04 November 2002 six al-Qaida members traveling in a vehicle in Yemen were killed by a Hellfire missile fired by a CIA controlled Predator unmanned drone aircraft. Among those reported killed is Ali Qaed Senyan al-Harethi, a key suspect in the October 2000 attack in Yemen on the US destroyer Cole. the senior al-Qaida leader in Yemen, Abu Ali al-Harithi, was riding in a car along with five other alleged terrorists. A missile, reportedly fired by a CIA unmanned aircraft, hit the vehicle about 170 kilometers east of Yemen’s capital Sana’a”
Yeah he did nothing….he turned those responsible into nothing.
September 28th, 2006 at 8:47 pm#54
“Where are the perpetrators of that?”
According to the 9/11 Report, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed who is in U.S. custody, was the principle architect of the 9/11 attacks.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalid_Shaikh_Mohammed
“Formerly a Pakistani-Kuwaiti member of Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda organization, according to the 9/11 Commission Report he was “the principal architect of the 9/11 attacks.”
September 28th, 2006 at 8:51 pm“Do your own research.”
Good one, Bill O.
Hey BO, you smear people, and you get paid for it — you could work at TP!
:P
–Sorry, I couldn’t resist…
September 28th, 2006 at 9:12 pmHey Tracy (#174)
So, are you saying that we have already caught the mastermind of 9/11? (KSM) and that we don’t really need Bin Laden? Job done?… terrorists defeated?.. then why are their numbers growing?
Why? Because Bush and the other dumbasses in this administration attacked a country that had not even scratched an American (non-agressor), and are trying to bring on the big religious war between the hypocritical suicidal nutjob Christians, and the hypocritical suicidal nutjob Muslims.
There is just one problem: Those of us who are neither are getting a little restless over all the religious nonsense, and we will soon put a stop to it.
September 28th, 2006 at 9:22 pmLOL, war on christmas. Or should I say THE EVIL SECULAR LEFT ATTACKING GOOD OLD FASHIONED AMERICANS? Anybody who buys that really needs shock therapy. That means you G-Dawg. I don’t even have to belittle your name, it speaks for itself.
September 28th, 2006 at 10:08 pmWow, Tracy, we caught the guy behind 9-11? Great!!! Let’s get out of Iraq. Queen had a little song that comes to mind at moments like these.
September 28th, 2006 at 10:09 pmTracy, the event of 9/11 is what propelled Bush into giving some thought to catching terrorists. In the 8 months of his term before that, he sat on his thumbs. And you know it. And the record shows it.
September 28th, 2006 at 10:18 pmAs for the 1993 bombing, all but one of the terrorists is imprisoned. And there was not another attack on American soil for 8 years.
You guys must be doing something right.
September 28th, 2006 at 10:32 pmThis just in !!! Wingnuts pick on Bill. You clowns are like small children, and your logic is so consistently flawed that your talking points are, well, goofy as hell. If Clinton had not exploded, you all would have said, “There you go, see what a sissy he is”? Cowardly dem. Maybe you are alot like children, in that you want it both ways. Pathetic…And you and I both know you would have, right, sure you would.
September 28th, 2006 at 10:48 pm#181 Actually I think Tracy is kind of delusional. I know, he is very pious…he sees the mother Mary in his potatoes.
September 28th, 2006 at 10:48 pmHired Guns Billy O?
You mean like all those Reptilian whores who called the war-hero John Kerry a coward and a liar?
You mean like all those fat pasty talk show Jabas who rally idiots with their fear and hatred?
You, sir, are no “factor” – and you have been put on notice. (yeah, it’s just as stupid when I say it too)
September 29th, 2006 at 2:39 amhello. the USS Cole bombing happened when Clinton was President. it only makes sense he would be asked that.
September 29th, 2006 at 12:07 pmlast time i checked Bush nor Rice was in office.
the entire framing of the question by think progress shows they are exactly what Oreilly says they are.
fyi. i dont even like Oreilly, or watch his show. so dont attack me with your partsan crap.
If you all really watched Bill you would know the facts as they are and not what these kooks are feeding you , Just check it out before you listen to the rants of these guys.
September 29th, 2006 at 12:38 pmYou cannot hope to bribe or twist
September 29th, 2006 at 12:38 pmBill O, that so-called journalist

“So, are you saying that we have already caught the mastermind of 9/11? (KSM) and that we don’t really need Bin Laden?”
No, I was just pointing out a fact that Marie was apparently unaware of and the many here think 9/11 was planned and coordinated by bin Laden.
“…and are trying to bring on the big religious war between the hypocritical suicidal nutjob Christians, and the hypocritical suicidal nutjob Muslims.”
Having said that I think you are the nutjob.

“Let’s get out of Iraq.”
And let Iraq become another puppet country of Iran like Lebanon is?

“In the 8 months of his term before that, he sat on his thumbs. And you know it.”
Yes I agree he could have done more, but Jame Woosley, former Clinton CIA director point out recently on Kieth Olbermann’s show that the burecratic process made the handover to Bush’s administration slow and that is was still in progress even after 9/11.
“As for the 1993 bombing, all but one of the terrorists is imprisoned. And there was not another attack on American soil for 8 years.”
How about all the others who were responsible for all of the other attacks after the 1993 WTC bombings, including the U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya?

“He probably thinks he’s BEHIND EVERYTHING, that he’s paid to do!!”
I am responsible for everything I am paid to do. If there is anything that goes wrong with any of my projects the owner calls me first.
September 29th, 2006 at 1:42 pmUhmmm, Tracy
You do remember that Clinton did try to go after the terrorists on multiple occassions right? And you do remember what the conservative owned media and the conservative run congress had to say? Will you own up to the fact that they impeded Clinton’s every attempt to address terrorism? “Wag the Dog” ring a bell?
September 29th, 2006 at 2:57 pmThis guy is a liar. Lazy. Until Democrats control one or both houses of Congress, he will be comfortable spouting crap. Why does anyone think that the progressives have these websites that fact check and put up unrefutable facts? Because they have to. They have to be better than the power elite. And then we have these COWARDS, failed to serve their country war mongerers like O-Reilly just saying what they want? Because they CAN. They control the government. We have these COWARDS getting young Americans KILLED. Vote Democratic in November. Take back your country.
September 30th, 2006 at 12:12 amANYONE with half a brain knows FOX NEWS is a total NEO-NAZI propaganda machine to spread disinformation…F*cking NUCLEAR NEO-NAZIS running the world into hell. Thank you, totally corrupt american politicians….KARMA,KARMA,KARMA

“Will you own up to the fact that they impeded Clinton’s every attempt to address terrorism?”
If you are saying that Republican’s giving heat to Clinton for destroying an asprin factory to divert attention from Lewinsky was something that actually hampered Clinton from doing his job then he was an absolute wimp as a president.
October 2nd, 2006 at 10:02 amI find it utterly repulsive that people who frequent this site find morality, Christianity and a values-based approach to life to be so wrong. There is no way to bring intelligence to people who think that their government is against them. We must stand up and defend ourselves against those who wish to see us dead, or we’ll be as blindly attacked as we were on 9.11.01. However, if those who saw the truth were all that were left, we’d only have Republicans in the White House and running the free world for all eternity. Too bad we can’t provide directions to the houses of those who oppose being American to the next set of attackers.
Then again, they wouldn’t target you because you’d rather denounce the true God that is Christian and become Islamofascists than defend one nation under God. UNDER GOD, People! Not under weak, pathetic, drivelling idiots who denounce Christianity in an attempt to make sure their children can sleep with and marry whomever they wish. Adam and Eve… not Adam and Steve, kids.
October 2nd, 2006 at 4:07 pmThe ;hired guns’ ws referring to media matters, not thinkprogress. You guys have a false headline.
October 6th, 2006 at 3:51 pm[...] We’re thankful Bill O’Reilly does not resort to name calling – well, besides labeling the ThinkProgress as “far left loons,” “kool-aid zombies,” “hired guns,” “vile,” “haters,” a “far left smear website,” and “a very well-oiled, effective character assassination machine.” [...]
November 23rd, 2006 at 9:44 am[...] O’Reilly frequently compares the progressive blogosphere to “fascists.” ThinkProgress escaped O’Reilly’s radar this time, but he has previously blasted ThinkProgress as “hired guns” who are “paid to smear people.” [...]
