Re-elect nobody; that's the only conclusion. No 2nd terms, no 3rd, just out. Enough. Both parties. DC has turned into a bad soap opera, produced and scripted by lobbyists, acted by sanctimonious frauds.

...the party of Moral Values is faltering and scrambling to make this go away. Which is what Danny Hastert tried to do three (3) years ago. Sweep it under the rug and hope it goes away. Let the children suffer from the perversions of a predator-pedifile.

NBC should run their "To Catch A Predator" in the House of Representatives to see how many Grand Old Perverts/Predators/Pedifiles they can catch on tape.

Oh, come on get a life, leave the hipocracy to the bigoted right movement. What about all the adulterers in Congress ?

The resignation of Foley is more than adequate, leave the guy alone,it really is no biggie, but the war on Iraq certainly is of consequence to the youth who will have to pay the increased taxes hence.

Values do evolve, and so should the American public,no need to circle the wagons on this issue in 2006.

[...] Monday, October 2nd, 2006 in politics by Daniel Larison I tell you what, I don’t know who knew what when and who is remembering correctly. I know one thing: that e-mail they call an “overly friendly e-mail” that had predator stamped all over it. No one in this country can suggest otherwise. You’re in a leadership position. You have a colleague you know is at least a potential predator and we have the pages coming through his office every day? They had an obligation, that same day, to investigate him further, to call in the FBI, if that was an appropriate action and also to call in those pages and make certain every one of them was interviewed to see if there is any problems here that goes deeper than what they already knew. They failed the parents of this country is what they did. ~Bay Buchanan [...]

#54 Perhaops term limits should apply only to the House. I don’t know if that is feasible, but it seems the need for turnover is less urgent in the Senate than in the House.

I totally agree. While I am as left as they come I don't want people with only way of seeing things controlling the country. The house, since they represent such a small constituency (often very homogenous) they tend to be radical in the way their base would like them to be, whether very liberal in cities and very conservative in rural and suburban areas (though the burbs are starting to turn more purple). So...you can have a place like Sugarland, Texas voting in the extremists from the right and those in ATL? voting in Cynthia McKinney (though it seems our side does a better job at holding our reps accountable). The result is you can get a whole lot of nuts in the House.

Bay's not crazy. She is a "real" conservitave. Not a neo-con. A "real" republican conservative should be outraged by what has happend in the last few days. Foley is simply a pedophile, and anyone who knew about this and covered it up, is guilty of pedophilia.

DONT VOTE REPUBLICAN. IF THE LEADERSHIP WILL COVER UP A FELLOW REPUBLICAN PEDOPHILE, THEN NON OF THEM DESERVED TO BE IN OFFICE.

HASERT SHOULD RESIGN TODAY!!!!

I was with Bay Buchanan on this issue until the end of the interview when she claimed that Foley's intentions should be considered bigger than Iraq. What should be made clear is that as odious as Foley's intentions were, they do not rise, or sink, to the level of what is happening in Iraq. Never was this made clearer than this weekend when my wife an I traveled 100 miles to see the moving film The U.S. vs. John Lennon. In that film, it showed, among other things, people marching in the streets protesting against something called the Vietnam War. Despite the fact that there is no military draft today, that should not excuse the fact that there is nary a protest regarding the illegal and immoral occupation of Iraq. The irony concerning Foley's actions is inescapable. Foley's behavior should be condemned but at the same time there should also be the same amount of outrage, on a daily basis, concerning the needless death and destruction that is taking place in Iraq.
