President Bush told reporters he was “shocked and dismayed” at Foley’s behavior, and said: “I know Denny Hastert. I meet with him a lot. He is a father, teacher, coach who cares about the children of this country. I know that he wants all the facts to come out.”
All the facts, George? What about Jeff Gannon?
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:35 pmTar & feather the both of them!
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:37 pm“father, teacher, coach…” Sounds like we should look into what HE does with boys too.
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:39 pmTime for BOTH to go. I’ve had it.
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:39 pmHeck of a job, Denny
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:40 pmlet’s get to the facts. i’ll help. fact: hastert knew this was going on for at least a year. fact: foley has been doing this for at least 5 years. fact: hastert was warned about foley and gave a slap on the butt, i mean wrist. so what else do you need?
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:41 pmOh, yeah, and Bush was going to fire anyone involved in leaking the identity of a cia agent too.
Republicans are the party of imorality.
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:44 pmjust the typical covering one another you would expect
regarding criminal activity. What the hell is the u.s.
putting a alcoholic to have authority in a organazation
like that? True alcoholism normally can be pardoned,
but you’d expect the utmost integrity in that kind of
organazation, not a sex pervert.
Just shows you big government is big inefficentcy, big
in wasteful $$’s, big in mismanagement, big in railroading
big covering the fox hen or whatever it is
and BIG IN CORRUPTION
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:44 pmFacts??? How many more facts do you need, Dubya? This is the same crap Snow was shoveling yesterday. Heck, there are enough facts for even the Washington Times to call for Hastert’s resignation. Then again, Dubya doesn’t read news papers.
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:45 pmI looked into his soul
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:47 pmSatan steps out from under his rock to praise Mammon. How Republican of him.
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:47 pmoh… i fogot to mention
“the facts”, just like government waste of our money….
oh it goes somewhere, it just doesn’t disappear
but the facts will be perverted SO MUCH that the truth
won’t even matter anymore, the here sa, authority,
whatever it’s called, the grapevine
ya right….. government waste goes somewhere and so does the
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:48 pmfact of foley, hastert, and all the rest of this crooks. Ya right
delay and abramhoff…. all coverups, do nothing AND CORRUPT
These days a compliment from Bush could be a big liability.
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:50 pmI may lean to the right, but I’ll say this. Anyone from either party who knew about this and didn’t do anything should be asked to leave office, Hasert included. This Foley is pure evil. If Hasert knew about this in 05′, he should resign ASAP.
Anyone who has affairs with minors or people that work under them, should be forced to resign ASAP. It is disgusting and wrong. Foley left, hasert should also leave. Clinton and those that covered his affair up should have all resigned. The congressman from Conn. that paid for sex (Forgot his name) and those that covered it up should have been forced to resign. ANYONE who has sex with a minor, a person that works under them, or a person they paid for sex should resign and those that new about it should resign.
It is disgusting behavior. My children and the rest of American children need to learn that this isn’t acceptable. Letting people like these people get a pass on this stuff sets a very bad example and teaches our children that it is acceptable to act in a immoral way.
It is time to clean house.
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:51 pmFacts? What would Bush know about facts? When he wants facts, he just makes them up.
October 3rd, 2006 at 2:55 pmRoger Roger
I agree with almost everything you posted in 14. The parts I disagree with, I set aside for now.
Anyone who sexually exploits a child, a person under the age of 18, should not be in office and should be in jail. Anyone who knowingly covers up such a crime deserves the same.
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:03 pmYes, Bushie, he always wants the facts. Yessir, Joe Friday, that’s Bush. Just the facts, ma’am.
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:04 pmBush – model of integrity and openness and honesty. A real Boy Scout, that George Bush. Endorsement from him really adds a lot to this.
If ya ask me, you’re either with the cover-up or against the cover-up.
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:07 pmRoger Roger, What is wrong with paying for sex? I got married almost 30 years ago and having been paying for sex ever since. In fact I have been paying just for the possibility that I may have sex. And if I ever have sex anywhere else and my wife finds out about, I will really pay for it

October 3rd, 2006 at 3:11 pm“He is a father, teacher, coach who cares about the children…”
Hastert was a HS wrestling coach. I was on a HS wrestling team, and I remember some of the characters (men) who hung around the team during practice and in the locker rooms, and wanted to “roll around a bit”. Given the dots floating around this situation it makes me wonder…..
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:12 pmWe were that close to getting a “Heckava job”.
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:13 pmBush endorsement = Kiss of Death
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:28 pmHeh heh, heh heh, Bush said “facts.” Heh heh, heh heh.
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:41 pm#16- “Anyone who sexually exploits a child, a person under the age of 18, should not be in office and should be in jail. Anyone who knowingly covers up such a crime deserves the same.”
And anyone who praises perverts while serving as President of the United States should be impeached immediately.
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:51 pmLETS GET THESE CORRUPT REPUBLICIANS OUT OF OFFICE
ONCE AND FOR ALL FIRE THEM AND GET SOME REAL
PUBLIC SERVANTS
THESE FOOLS GETTING PAID THIS KIND OF MONEY
October 3rd, 2006 at 3:54 pmCOMPLETE TRASH INSTEAD OF RETUNING SERVICE
WITH INTEGRITY JUST GETS THEM TO ALL ACT
LIKE A BUNCH OF CRIMINALS…. BECAUSE THEY
ARE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM
#25. Gerry Eastman Studds. In 1983, he admitted having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male page a decade earlier. He didn’t go to jail. He was re-elected as a democrat. Any reasonable progs willing to admit to a double standard here?
October 3rd, 2006 at 4:19 pmHere’s another thing. Hastert has said he knew of the e-mails about Foley asking how the page had weathered Katrina and asking for a photo of the page. I’m sorry, but relatively innoculous. Hastert went to Foley, explained it was improper, and told him to stop. Now, much more damning information has come to light (nothing as serious as statutory rape, though). Hastert advises Foley to resign. Foley resigns, admits responsibility. Hastert and company request investigation. Contrast that with the Studds scenerio. He was having sex with a 17 year old page. He was re-elected as a democrat. Who resigned? Who’s acting more responsibly? Keep going progs, you are digging your own graves.
October 3rd, 2006 at 4:27 pmAh yes the lowering of standards by pointing out something equally bad that someone else did. This is a popular tactic with the current admin. “But, but, he did too!” Studds(funny name) should have resigned and been arrested. Why that didn’t happen is beyond me. Wrong is wrong, Democrats who commit acts like this or other crimes should be prosecuted as well. Double standard? No. That was twenty three years ago. The Foley thing is happening NOW. The defense of this perv is truly disturbing and anyone covering for him (cough, Hastert, cough) should resign or be forced from office.
October 3rd, 2006 at 4:33 pmSo Bushit ‘knows’ Hastert, does he? So what makes Hastert more special that all those lobbists he can’t remember meeting? Hey, one of you republican trolls, can you spin this one for me, please?
October 3rd, 2006 at 4:50 pmHastert didn’t allow an external investigation until Nancy Pelosi demanded one. He tried to further cover up his scandal until Pelosi stood up to him and let every American know what COULD be done about it and then Hastert FINALLY relented. Hastert must have something to hide if he has to be forced to do the right thing.
October 3rd, 2006 at 4:54 pm#29. who’s defending Foley? He’s creepy and right to resign. He also needs to be investigated. But, instead of trying to get Hastert to resign, hold him up as the standard of how to handle member discretion. He has definitely done a better job than democrats past. I’m becoming more and more confident about who is providing the adult supervision in Washington. (It’s not selective, double standard imposing democrats).
October 3rd, 2006 at 5:04 pmDidn’t we hear this same exact speech about Rove back when Bush was still covering up his outing of Valerie Plame?
October 3rd, 2006 at 6:15 pmDid Bush cheer for Hastert’s wrestling team?
October 4th, 2006 at 2:43 pmHow convienient of Dubau to not personally know Hastert? Give me break the guy is the Speaker of the House! And we thought he was only out of touch with the American people haha!
October 4th, 2006 at 4:41 pmI do not understand why this very big investigation has to be startted…another wasted money of the tax payer. Has nobody ever thought of asking Foley himslef who and when he talked to. Let him testify under oath and send him to the slammer without parole if it will be established that he lied. So here you are….saving millions of dollars instead of spending it for N-O-T-H-I-N-G….
