Okay, say what you want about my intelligence. I am confused. If we impeach Bush, aren’t we then putting Cheney behind the reigns? And then we try to impeach him?

I don’t understand the process. Yes, I could look it up. But maybe someone knows and I can actually get something done at work today! :)

  2. Manuel says:

So if you want to deal with N.Korea and Iran you NEED the draft !!

  3. Jay Randal says:

Bush will never pull the troops out of Iraq, because the Oil Cartel slobbers to control the Oil, but since Bush is president till January 2009, who has agreed to keep the troops in Iraq till end of 2010?

  4. Joe Sixpack says:

Well, that news ought to cheer up the National Guard and active duty recruiters.

  5. Dog_named_Boo says:

    Don’t expect the United States to take any action against Korea at this point, according to the Walrus;

John Bolton, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, dismissed the report as a North Korean attempt to bully the United States into bilateral talks.

“This is the way North Korea typically negotiates, by threat and intimidation,” Bolton said. “It’s worked for them before. It’s not going to work this time.”

  6. Dog_named_Boo says:

Actually Southpaw I think Cheney is actually the defacto presnut pulling the reigns.

George runs around doing photo-ops and signing paperwork or clearing brush at the crawford pig farm.
Cheney stays hunkered down in undisclosed locations for the most part. [Unless he's out stumping for his sychophants]

White House counsel John Dean also refers to Cheney as “the de facto president,” so impeaching George wouldn’t make much, if any difference on what we see George do or say in my view.

  7. JesusChrist_GodOfWAR says:

Well, these current troops levels are sure an effect killing machine!

    [from: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6040054.stm ]

An estimated 655,000 Iraqis have died since 2003 who might still be alive but for the US-led invasion, according to a survey by a US university.

The research compares mortality rates before and after the invasion from 47 randomly chosen areas in Iraq.

The figure is considerably higher than estimates by official sources or the number of deaths reported in the media…

Hello! Wake up, America. This is what the world has KNOWN for years about this fine little dictatorship we live in.

BushCo can’t convince me that those who died had ANYTHING to do with the events of 9/11!

Emperor George can’t convince me that those who died threatened the US in any way shape or form!!!

  8. Marie says:

And Bush just said he is not “staying the course.”
I think this means that my very young grandsons will likely be drafted for Bush’s folly in Iraq.

  9. SouthPaw says:

    #7, Dog Named Boo

That’s kind of what I thought myself.

Although, if Americans had to see Cheney on t.v. for press conferences, it might kinda give the right the willies….

  10. Marie says:

655,000 dead Iraqis – Bush dismissed the news as “not credible.”
Although it was a combined effort that produced the report.

  11. June says:

Its almost as if they are intentionally attempting to destroy the US Military.

    Your assumption is correct…

    …therin lies the rub (Cheney’s taking over)…

    …America is caught in a Constitutional quagmire…

…however, I believe there is enough of a paper trail…

…whereby any enterprising journalist or special prosecutor could find enough damning evidence…

…to prosecute Cheney for war profiteering and various sundry conflicts-of-interest…

    …Cheney’s MORE of a CRIMINAL than Bushiva…

    …one mustn’t forget that fact…

…thus, this nation’s electorate should NOT be deterred from seeking to bring down ALL of the CRIMINAL BUSHITE JUNTA…

…and seeking justice and remuneration for their corruption…

  13. Daryll says:

You inept liberals, If we leave, the terrorists will perceive this action as a group victory. The world will also consider us as a weak, defenseless and vunerable country. Grab some balls. This won’t be an instantaneous win. Remember WWII? Stop criticizing the president, worry about yourselves.

  14. kelso says:

Can we stop loss our troops all the way until 2010? Some of them should be on their 12th tour by then, poor bastards.

  15. June says:

    Daryll,

The war in Iraq is helping the “terrorist” as Al Queda says its in their best interest for the US to stay there. The world already perceives us as weak and vulnerable. Look at North Korea.

Not to mention, we’ve already been in Iraq longer than our involvement in WWII and there appears to be no end in sight.

    Something has to change, no?

Perhaps you should begin to worry about yourself and stop supporting the President. I AM worried about myself AND my family which is WHY I criticize Bush. Get a clue. We need a change, now.

  16. SouthPaw says:

#13 I agree, Big Papa, that Cheney is worse than Bush, and that is my fear. Will he take the absolute power and run with it?

Do we have to complete the impeachment process of Bush before we can move to impeach Cheney. I mean the further down the line you go, it just doesn’t get any less scary!

And I hear you on the “enterprising journalist and special prosecutor” but one can only hope that once BushCo are on their way out, these people you speak of will step up.

  17. kelso says:

The way this administration set up it’s staff and cabinet, you would think that eventual impeachment was the goal all along.

Look at the Order of Presidential Succession, it’s a line up of first class ZEROs –>Cheney –> Hastert –> Stevens –> Rice –> Paulson –>Rumsfeld –>Gonzales

The outcome of multiple impeachments gets worse as you go down the line. It’s not even worth the trouble, the MUPPET is far more manageable than any of his successors.

  18. Daryll says:

June, you obviously don’t care about the protection of our soil. To this date, there are various types of terrorist cells being created within the Al Queda Terrorist group. Sure, we should have expected this, but we must defeat those cells that are being created to attack us and our allies. Let the troops leave, when another massive attack happens, blame yourself. Let me guess, you’re utilizing the CMRS (Clinton Military Response System), which means do nothing.

  19. SouthPaw says:

Clinton clinton, clin-ton, clintie clint, clintonton. Clinton. Clinton clinton.

Just since he was left out of so many threads, I thought I’d represent. I hate to leave him unblamed anywhere.

    Bill Bill Bill
    Clint ton ton.

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. – - ARTICLE II, SECTION 4 OF THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

  21. Hastert says:

Does the chimp really think he can keep troops in Iraq even after he’s out of office? What hubris! Really, the man is an egomaniac. I’m going to waywardson’s site above and I’m going to join. This Bush has rotten mellons for balls. All size and no substance.
Impeachment won’t happen until we have the majority in the House, and then Hastert can’t be in line, it will be Pelosi.

  22. Spudge_Boy says:

You must keep in mind that Prescott Bush, George Bushs Grandfather financed the NAZIs. He had to appear in from of the US Senate and have the bank he co-chair taken away from him. He was also the Senator of Connecticut. These people are NAZis. They ar trying to ruin this country. Not “almost” they “are” intentionally attempting to destroy our military.

And you obviously don’t care about the protection of our constitution, coward.

    Comment by SouthPaw

If both are implicated, both can be impeached; and if Hastert loses his leadership position in the elections, Republicans should get used to saying “President Pelosi.”

    With what army?

    Comment by Jake

    ?

  27. WaltTheMan says:

    #29 – barfly,
As Rummy would have said, “We’ll go to war with the Army we had.”.

  28. JPark says:

There is a reason Bush is president and not Cheney. Everybody (even wingnuts) know when Cheney is lying. Impeach Bush and bring the pus to the surface. Cheney would never win a vote.

  29. JPark says:

This is my brother Daryll and my other brother Daryll. Wait, is that brother or cousin? Both? Southern family trees confuse me.
