They are (whether purposely or not) conflating donations from Abramoff himself with donations from some of his clients, like the Indian tribes. Democrats rightly point out that the tribal donations are entirely separate and legitimate. Although I strongly support most of the TP posts, it looks like the two types of donations to Pombo are being conflated here. There may be different circumstances that I'm not catching here (and I am completely open to hearing about those), but I think we should generally stick solely to the actual Abramoff donations lest the issue grow so complicated that it is hard to escape the attitude of, "See, both parties are corrupt". OK, I’ll be a thorn in the side here despite the presence of trolls.
