Rep. Curt Weldon (R-PA) is now blaming»

CREW’s Melanie Sloan, former National Security Advisor Samuel Berger, and former CIA officer Mary McCarthy for his current ethical troubles. Weldon believes the FBI’s investigation is “revenge for his criticisms.” (TPMmuckraker has more.)

so pathetic, just like the rest of the corrupt, lying right wingers

    melt down time

  2. Patrick Kennedy Says:

He isn’t crazy. Really he isn’t.

  3. PatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC) Says:

There can be no more powerful indicator that this guy is guilty than his blaming someone else for his problems.

  4. Bluedog49 Says:

Can you imagine how paranoid Weldon would be about the FBI if it were run by democrats?

  5. km4 Says:

Debra Weierman, a spokeswoman for the FBI’s Washington field office, said the agency conducted six searches today “in relation to a pending investigation.” Four were in the Philadelphia area and two were in the area of Jacksonville, Florida, she said. Weierman declined to give further details, saying affidavits supporting the search warrants were sealed.

Jacksonville is home to the U.S. headquarters of Itera International Energy, a Russian company that McClatchy and the Los Angeles Times reported had hired Karen Weldon’s firm for $500,000. On Jan. 25, 2003, Weldon traveled from Philadelphia to Jacksonville at the expense of Itera, according to a disclosure Weldon made to Congress. The telephone at Itera’s Jacksonville office was busy or disconnected.

Bye bye Curt ( R, PA ) and welcome Joe Sestak ( D. PA )

  6. Wayne A. Schneider Says:

So is he saying that Melanie Sloan, Sandy Berger, and Mary McCarthy are all alternate versions of himself? Because he really has no one to blame but himself if he did anything illegal. I always thought that the Republicans were the ones who believed in “individual responsibility.” If you did the crime, don’t blame society, or your neighbor, or those aliens from Mars, blame yourself! It seems like that rule only applies when someone else gets caught.

  7. Your+Conscience Says:

WE ARE CONTARDS AND THIS IS OUR SONG

It’s the liberals. It’s the ACLU. It’s Clinton. It’s Monica. It’s the “climate of permissiveness”. It’s France. It’s the liberal media. It’s Clinton’s p*nis. It’s Hillary. It’s Gov. Dean. We never could have known they’d fly planes into buildings. “No actionable intelligence”. They didn’t tell us to do anything. O’Neill’s lying. Clarke’s lying. General Shinseki’s lying. The Union of Concerned Scientists is lying. Our own weapons inspector David Kay’s lying. Wilson’s lying. John Dean’s lying. Newsweek lied! CBS lied! Everyone’s lying but us. We had to lie. We never lied.

Plame outed herself. Her husband outed her. The liberals outed her. No one outed her, since everyone already knew her covert identity. Rove had nothing to do with it. No comment. Lib’ral, lib’ral, lib’ral.

It’s the libs trying to pull Schiavo’s feeding tube. It doesn’t matter that DeLay pulled his own dad’s feeding tube. “Culture of life”. It’s Janet Jackson’s boobs; it’s the Statue of Justice’s boobs. Reading the news might cloud my judgement. It’s the “decade our government…blinded itself to our enemies”. It’s the homosexuals wanting to marry. “Restore honor and dignity to the White House”. A decision to go to war wasn’t a decision to go to war. “No actionable intelligence”. It’s the pledge of allegiance. They’re taking God out of America. Osama didn’t tell us when, how, where, and by what means he’d attack, and he didn’t leave a forwarding address. The 9/11 panel is biased against us. Saddam = Al Qaida. Saddam = Al Qaida.

Chalabi’s an honorable man and I believe everything he says about WMDs. Chalabi’s a crook and he passed secrets to Iran. Chalabi’s the liberals’ fault because they didn’t shoot us when we started using his “intelligence”. Chalabi? I don’t know any ‘Chalabi’!

It’s just a few dead-enders. They’ll be gone when we capture Saddam. They’ll be gone when we capture Saddam’s sons. They’ll be gone when we hand over “sovereignty”. They’ll be gone when Iraq has elections. They’ll be gone in 12 years. They’ll never be gone.

We fight them in London so we don’t have to fight them, er, uh, well, can’t get fooled again!

Bolton didn’t lie! He just knowingly gave incorrect answers under oath.

Aw, so what’s another ISLAMIC STATE in the mideast? It’s not like Bush has made it a home for terrorists or anything!

No one could have anticipated that a category 5 hurricane aimed directly at New Orleans would have destroyed it! No one could have anticipated that they might need federal assistance quickly! Of course no one’s in charge of accepting the generous aid offered by other nations — isn’t that the mayor’s responsibility? Being a judging supervisor for the Arabian Horse Association is ample experience to head FEMA! It’s the mayor’s fault! It’s the governor’s fault! It’s Howard Dean’s fault! It’s CBS’s fault! It’s the Monica Crime! Ted Kennedy killed Mary Jo! Libtards killed Terry Schiavo! Wah! Wahhhhhhh!

It’s all these former staffers hawking their books. Money never corrupted anyone. “I’m a uniter, not a divider!” It’s the stem cells. It’s the feminazis, the intellectual elitists, and the ecoterrorists.

    It’s Cthulhu. It’s the martians.

    It’s anyone but Bush.

  8. budpaul Says:

Hey, dumbass. Don’t blame the messenger. Although, if I remember correctly, I think it was Truman who said, “The buck stops at Melanie Sloan.” I could be wrong, but I think that’s what he said.

#7 Wow. You might have missed one or two but this is impressive. I’m going to cut and paste this and highlight a different color each time one is used. I’m guess by Nov 6th all will be used.

  10. n Says:

He’s going to wring someone’s neck over this!

  11. ForTruth Says:

Isn’t there something Weldon could be investigated for? After all, there is an (R) after his name.

  12. pgl Says:

Josh Marshall watches CNN so we don’t have to. Seems CNN thinks those LIBERALS at the FBI are out to get Weldon. Help us all - a bunch of Commie liberals have taken over the FBI, the Justice Department, and even the White House!

  13. Singing the Blues Says:

Hey Curt how about giving that 2004 letter to the press so they can verify your conspiracy theory.

Another repug going to the slammer.

  14. bye bye GOP Says:

Next up: Weldon blames Clinton’s blowjob for everything criminal he’s ever done or will do in the future.

  15. Flamethrower Says:

    he is soooooooooooooooooooooo stupid.

    It had to be the…..,b>CLENIS!™

  16. beep52 Says:

Weldon was just practicing family values.

  17. RealScientist Says:

#7 My compliments to perhaps the best post I have ever seen at TP. I am copying and emailing it to friends.

    Spread it around, everyone.

  18. Josh+P. Says:

I bet he was drunk when he asked his buddies to give the contract to his daughter… You know how the ‘bottle’ can make you do so many stupid things.

  19. Briseadh na Faire Says:

I followed the links and was surprised to hear Weldon say he was endorsed by the AFL-CIO, so I did a quick google. And, lo and behold, this is what I found:

“while Sestak was holding court near Havertown’s Superfund site and getting the League of Conservation Voters endorsement, Weldon was attending a fundraiser hosted by some local union people (according to the Delco Daily Times article).

This sets up an interesting conflict between the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, who has backed Sestak (Sources: Forbes, 7/28/2006, Delco Daily Times, 7/28/2006 and these local labor people, some of whom are in the AFL-CIO.”

    And “Where Curt Stands:
Curt is a champion for American businesses.”

Sounds like a champion of the working class to me. Yup. Uh-huh.

It sounds more and more like they’ve all attended the Rove/Machiavelli school of politics.

  20. Jay Randal Says:

The FBI is controlled by the Bush Regime, so if Weldon wants to blame the real person behind his troubles, then he needs to blame Bush who could call off the FBI with snap of his fingers!

  21. MoreFamilyValues Says:

    #18 re: being drunk

And don’t forget he was molested by his catholic priest as a boy.

  22. normalasf Says:

#7 - Thank you! This is perfect. I’ve been looking for a synopsis of the last 5 years to show my mom why she can’t vote for any more Rs. This will surely help.

  23. Josh+P. Says:

You know, God controls everything anyway. That must mean that God hates Republicans… I like the way that sounds.

  24. aquarius Says:

Perhaps my thoughts are too simplistic, but if you have done nothing wrong then why issue a statement about the timing of the investigation?? Why not just say, feel free to investigate.

And does the timing have anything to do with being crook? I mean if you have done wrong, you shouldn’t be screaming about the timing of an investigation.

  25. Jay Says:

Isn’t it blatantly obvious how deep in bed the MSM is with the democrats and liberals this election year? For two weeks now, its been non-stop Foley until we are sick of it and now this. Harry Reid profits a $700k and no one in the media wants to touch the story. If the dems don’t take both houses of congress this year, when will they? They need to disband as a political party forever if they don’t win a majority of the seats.

  26. Eargy Earp Says:

    #7. Really, really Excellent.

The only thing you left out was Bugs Bunny laughing hysterically an crying out “WHAT A MAROON, DOC!!!! WHAT A MAROON”.

Two little point of personal pleasure I find when driving and listening to the news on the radio:

    (1) When ever I hear John Bolton say anything, I loudly chant “STOP THE COUNT !! STOP THE COUNT!! STOP THE COUNT!!”. How anyone in the free world can give that fellow any respect for any opinion after the anti-democracy thuggery he performed in FLA in 2000 is beyond me.

    (2) Whenever I hear C. Rice lecturing another country, I start mimicking her in the voice of one the Martians from “Mars Attacks”. Listen to her next time you get a chance: You can’t avoid the same shrill twang in her voice.

  27. chimpeach Says:

Isn’t it blatantly obvious how deep in bed the MSM is with the democrats and liberals this election year?

No. They’re finally starting to do their job. If they’d been doing their job from 2000 to 2003, we could have been spared a Bush presidency, or at the very least a senseless war based entirely on lies.

Obviously you’d prefer they didn’t report crimes committed by Republicans. Maybe you should ask the Republicans to stop committing so many crimes.

  28. paul Says:

#7. About half the things you sarcastically say are true. It is a pretty good list to justify voting republican in November.

  29. Eargy+Earp Says:

Yeah but #7 forgot to mention that paul is brainwashed (another truth).

  30. paul Says:

    Isn’t Harry Reid’s son a lobbyist?

  31. Mr. Evil Says:

Condoleezza Rice talking (pretend you are listen to the martians in the movie Mars Attacks): Wahh wah waaah, wah waaaah wah wah, WAAAAHH WAH! Waaah waah waaaaah waah wah waaah WAH wah!

    Condi - what a joke!

  32. john Says:

what a loser he probably wakes up with a headache and blames someone else sound familiar with these losers, there motto it’s everyone elses fault. what a bunch of pathetic cowards these dickheads are

  33. jon Says:

Does anybody remember Weldon repeatedly on that xenophobic Lou Dobbs show, screaming Able-Danger, Able-Danger? It was Weldon’s pet project.

  34. oxillini Says:

Hey Jay, tell you what. Reid is under investigation. If he did anything wrong or illegal, the investigation should bear that out. I am not in favor of giving him a pass because he is a Democrat. Let’s talk about how Hastert went from a net worth of around $300,00 to $6 million. Guess what, it involves a land deal and it made more money than Reid or Whitewater.

  35. nitpicker Says:

Here’s a question: Would someone ask Curt Weldon how inclusive he can really be with Democrats–as he says repeatedly he is–when he can’t even bring himself to refer to it as the Democratic party, but, instead, continues to use the “Democrat [sic] party” in the style of Tom DeLay and Joseph friggin’ McCarthy?

  36. Deep Thinker Says:

We need congressional term limits !!!

  37. Kelso Says:

I need to read up on the Reid land deal thing, but from what little I know it doesn’t sound like much of a story. If a person buys land on the edge of the fastest growing city in the United States, it doesn’t really suprise me that it’s worth a lot more than it was in 1998.

The story says he didn’t disclose the transfer of the land to a LLC. There might be more to it, but I have a hard time seeing the “corrupt” angle here.

  38. oxillini Says:

Kelso, the Reid deal is a non-starter. Nothing significant will come of it and it’s details are too intricate for front page news. Hastert’s land deal is far easier for the general populace to understand, but no one outside of the Chicago media seems to care.

  39. big+papa Says:

    Did anybody mention to Curt…

    …that it’s HIS gods’ (Bushiva and L’il Dick’s)…

    …Justice Department?

  40. turtle Says:

Corruption, lies and spin… all part of the republican modus operandi. Could we not ask for better caimpaign fodder. Let’s hope he spread this message far and wide on the campagin trail.

  41. JPark Says:

Paul, yes, after all this…vote Republican. Prove to us you are retarded.

  42. JC Fate Says:

Are all of you people so blinded by by dogma that you fail to see the truth? Check your liberalism just this once. Weldon is being taken out because he is raising questions about able-danger and the government involvement in 9/11. You can’t see the forest for the trees, and you call it Progress? Please spare me.

    James
