Regarding the above quote. Familiar language, isn’t it? But it’s not about global warming, it’s about global cooling. Fear of a new ice age. Anybody here worried about a new ice age? Anybody upset we didn’t act now, back then, to stockpile food and do all the other things we were warned we had to do?

We must deal with climate change now!

“We simply cannot afford to gamble… by ignoring it.
We cannot risk inaction. Those scientists who say
we are merely entering a period of climatic instability
are acting irresponsibly. The indications that our
climate can soon change for the worse are too strong
to be reasonably ignored.”

It's not undemocratic to question the motives for debating something that's beyond debate. Get the point. Why are people disputing this. They are either ignorant, in that there isn't a single peer reviewed study that disputes global warming among the thousands that have been published, which a person would know if they took the time to read anything that isn't some right wing crap before injecting their stupidity into the debate, or they have an ulterior motive.

So is it unamerican to suggest that on an issue which shouldn't be 'sensitive', a person should have some freaking clue before they indulge in their spiteful desire to disagree for the sake of disagreeing? Maybe it is if you're stupid.

@kdz: Way to picking at common spelling mistakes to try to make a point. Also, thanks for reminding me how much global warming has to do with ILLITERACY, the ability to read. The idea that common ideas even as sensitive as Global Warming shouldnt be debated is undemocratic and unamerican. I personally do believe in global warming, but I wont take away another's right from believeing the opposite.

Also, George brought up a good point. If you actually cared about the full picture, you might previous drudge headlines such as "ENGLAND SETS ALL-TIME HOT TEMP" in August, "Drought continues in hot and dusty Phoenix, which has endured 140 plus days without rain..." in March and "Hot Temperatures Force Blackouts in Texas" in April.

I question any data that purports to prove rightwing GOPers are actually human.

DNA results are definitely suspect, and should be doubted.

See?
Questioning data can be
a GOOD thing, no?

"Climate Change" is what the scientific community says, but "global warming" is what the popular press and the public say. In matters of language, fortunatly Orwell is often wrong -- the public wins; war is not peace.

Even if the press makes a universal and conscious effort to adopt the term "climate change," it is likely that the public will continue to talk about "global warming" for many years to come.

An example of recent use of the term "climate change" is the linked report from the Congressional Budget Office, "Uncertainty in Anlyzing Climate Change: Policy Implications."

#182: It’s not like he’s spreading misinformation to millions of people, he’s just questioning data, as all American citizens should.

All Americans should question data? So, you're suggesting that all Americans should try to misrepresent statistics to mean whatever they want them to mean, as Matt Drudge does?

Wow, looks like someone dredged up a bunch of wankers.

Once they separate the anti-development, anti-western civilization yokels (yes, you) from science, then maybe the mainstream will listen. For now, global warming is hyped just like global cooling was 30 years ago and the population explosion years before that.

Let’s face it. If you want to save the environment, kill yourself. You use more resources than 99% of the people who ever lived. By inducing your own death, you’re saving the planet. Amen.

And that is a perfect summary of the Rightwing. If you disagree with them, you should just kill yourself, because hell they just cannot handle the fact that they are complete and total BRAINLESS PIECES OF SHIT.

There is not a single peer reviewed study that contradicts global warming, and you don't get that many scientists agreeing on anything unless there is a shitload of evidence for it. You guys like whine and bitch about the fact that we liberals don't like you? Guess what wanker, we don't like you because you keep on accusing us of the shit your pisstanks have done.

9/11? Blame Clinton for the security, yeah because it is not like he left office eight months before the fact now is it?

Katrina? Yeah blame the liberals, meanwhile the state of Lousiana put forward a plan to modernise the levee system - BEFORE the Hurricane, only to have what funding they had for levees cut. Yeah and blame the liberals for the shitty response, it is not like GW Bloody Bush hired a political lackey in the position of FEMA head when that specific position has always historically been run by someone who actually knew what the hell they we doing now is it?

Dividing the nation? Yeah because it is not like calling people filthy liberals for mildly disagreeing with you on any given issue isn't a great unifier now is it?

Weakening America's economy? Yeah and under Clinton what was the deficit? A surplus. Your Republicans, your beloved sainted pedophiles, have run up the biggest Deficits in American history, and yeah adjust for inflation and do you know what it takes to beat Bush's deficits? World War Two!

And we are the fiscally irresponsible aren't we? You have Delay comparing himself to frigging Jesus Christ and we liberals are the ones who are morally bankrupt? You have Ann Coulter calling the widows of 9/11 the Witches of East Brunswick and we are supposed to be the ones filled with hate? Actually, yes, we are.

We hate the fact that under your bloody stupid goverment, nothing has been done about pollution. Indeed pollution standards have been relaxed, while the rest of the world is bringing out tougher and tougher measures. You want to know why Ford is not competetive with Japanese cars? Because the rest of the world is not interested in gas guzzling shit-mobiles. We want cars which don't pollute as badly, and looking at America, where you have a goverment that subsidises pollution, we simply don't see Ford as being a non-polluting vehicle.

We hate the fact that being anti-Bush is called being Anti-American by the same hypocrits that just couldn't wait to accuse Clinton of wagging the dog over terrorism, and we certainly hate the people who made the accusations and then went on to blame Clinton for not doing enough to curb terrorism.

And look at this, Ha! Shocking, scientists are jumping up and down saying "We have to do something about global warming" while you total imbeciles on the right are ignoring them just so that you can make a political point about liberals. You have spent so much effort trying to make us look bad, you Bin-Laden loving chicken-f$^*ers have been ignoring every bit of evidence that might suggest there is indeed a frigging problem.

Drudge posts lies. He has been repeatedly discredited. He is a hack, and not a terribly bright one. That the rightwing likes the taste of bullshit and just loves being lied to does not mean the rest of us do. Get your head out of your arse, look at who the bloody President of the United is, and stop wasting our damned time talking about liberals.
