“Just 20 days until Election Day, the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds approval of the GOP-held Congress is at its lowest mark in 14 years, the Republican Party’s favorability rating is at an all-time low and President George W. Bush’s approval rating remains mired in the 30s,” NBC reports.
Ha Ha Ha!!! I almost think W’s second term has been worth watching these Neocons self-destruct. Awesome news.

October 19th, 2006 at 12:03 amThe death of Habeas Corpus hasn’t helped the Republicans as much as they thought it would. HA!HA!
October 19th, 2006 at 12:04 amThe death of Habeas Corpus hasn’t helped the Republicans as much as they thought it would. HA!HA!
Comment by Republicans Are The Fear And Smear Party
But it will hurt ALL of us. I’m not laughing anymore.
October 19th, 2006 at 12:17 amYes finally a clear majority of Americans dislike George Bush, and the GOP, but Dubya and his GOP pals control the voting systems in almost every State, so they plan to cheat big on November 7th to stay in power! What will Americans do on November 8th after being screwed over?
October 19th, 2006 at 12:30 amold joke:
if pro is the opposite of con,
what is the opposite of progress?
October 19th, 2006 at 12:38 amGeorge Bush will just declare that the Democratic led Congress has been “aiding terrorists”, declare them “enemy combatants”, and send them to the secret prisons and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi will be water-boarded side by side. POLICE STATE!
http://www.getsomejosh.com
October 19th, 2006 at 1:03 amThanks Zooey, I’m not laughing either. We are one terroist attack away from a Police State, and dessenting opinions like ours will be dealt with by the Emperer. No Cornflakes for you…straight to Gitmo and your progressive views.
October 19th, 2006 at 1:05 am#7 – If that happens, and we don’t take to the streets then we truly are finished as a Democracy. If this whole nation does not realize that the GOP didn’t even offer any KY, and we just take it, we will be done.
October 19th, 2006 at 1:05 amPost 11 Josh > The GOP are so cheap they will NOT pay for KY to screw us all over > lol.
October 19th, 2006 at 1:20 amWell, lets hope people can stay focused for the next 20 days and not fall back into complacency.
October 19th, 2006 at 2:04 amThankyou, thankyou, thankyou for clarifying that it is the Rapepublicans which, following Gingrich’s earlier antics, have blocked the lawful functioning of the Congress in order to rape the country under spurious, unelected leaders and unqualified cronies.
Now they’re afraid that Pelosi might get subpoena power. That’s funny — I didn’t know Speaker Pelosi is a senior black man named Rep. John Conyers.
Conyers as head of the Intelligence Committee = GFH Bush running from his friendly new pals at the new Neocon Warcrimes Prison.
Which is why they are going to steal the election, rub themselves in lard, and continue their assault on our lives. Because until you stop a criminal, they keep on robbing. That’s what they do. What they do NOT do is let a little something like popular opinion polls and ballots dictate the results their crony St. SecStates announce.
October 19th, 2006 at 3:58 amToo many polls and too much reporting on them. I think for most people it comes down to who represents them locally and a national style poll isn’t a true barometer.
Where I live in Maryland there is one true contested race and most other incumbents are expected to win handily. Yet I’d bet with a generic question here on Democrats vs Republicans you would get results similar to national polls. There are many uncontested races nationwide both on the Republican and Democrat side where the polling isn’t relative.
just sounding a cautionary note that polls can be misleading and how they are conducted should be scrutinized.

October 19th, 2006 at 5:50 amI have been a fan of TP for a long time but at this point I am done. Please explain to me TP why there has been no articles of our lose of Habeas Cropus. We dont even have Olbermann’s comment on the subject. I am beginging to wonder if you dont want to talk about it is because you know that Dems voted for it.
October 19th, 2006 at 6:53 amWell all you need to do is explain why Dems felt like they had to vote for it. That is the Republican Congress pushed this bill through in order to corner Dems. Instead you are scared. Shame on you.
Good number but will it translate into the Repugs getting thrown on their tails out the front door? Time will tell.
October 19th, 2006 at 7:58 amAmerica’s Least Wanted
I love the way MSNBC and CNN are contorting themselves to highlight the Reid “scandal” and strive to make it the equal of Cunningham/Abramoff/Ney/Foley/Reynolds/Hastert. I wonder what Rove said to their respective presidents that put such a scare into them. They never say “Republican-led Congress”, just “Congress” when referring to the public’s disdain, pathetic.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:22 amPersonally, the democrat takeover in the House and Senate will NOT be enough to satisfy me…
…to bring me to the table of unification with our wayward ‘CONNED’servative (former) countrymen/women…
…there MUST be ACCOUNTABILITY…
…Bushiva, L’il Dick and ALL of the corporate and political co-conspirators who orchestrated this debacle in Iraq, and profiteered from it…
…MUST be brought to justice…
…THEIR Patriot Act MUST be used to seize their (and their families’) personal assets to reimburse the US Treasury (and taxpayers)…
…then THEY MUST be turned over to the ICC for prosecution on war crimes and crimes against humanity…
…make NO mistake…
…our children and grandchildren will be paying tax rates of 50% if we simply allow the Bushites to ride off into the sunset with their ill gotten gains…
October 19th, 2006 at 9:51 amrichb #15
… is right…
…Dems shouldn’t be crowing just yet…
…especially with Diebold as the Repulsivescam hold card…
October 19th, 2006 at 9:54 am#19 big papa
I’m with you!
