“The top US general defended the leadership of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld today, saying it is inspired by God. ‘He leads in a way that the good Lord tells him is best for our country,’ said Marine General Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.”
these are the fantasy based creeps we want to keep
October 19th, 2006 at 8:15 pmGen Pace,
I saw you blinking like mad while the Boy King was signing that abomination of a bill. Why were you doing that? Guilt?
I hope so.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:16 pmAn Army of ONE!…………………..brain cell
October 19th, 2006 at 8:16 pmInsane.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:18 pmI see: Divine inspiration is what drives both Pres Bush and Sec Rumsfeld.
Since they are both doing God’s work, have his approval and guidance, the quaint customs of electing people to govern the country, and holding them accountable can be safely done away with.
After all, God would know better than any of us what is in our best interest and his just wrath would punish the disobedient.
I must understand that invading, occupying, dying in a country that posed no threat is all in our collective best interest. So is spending inordinate amounts of money in that military enterprise. We simply do not know it. Yet.
Ah, God’s inscrutable designs and mysterious ways….
October 19th, 2006 at 8:21 pmohh great, our military leaders are now ordained prophets now that speak on behalf of god? wow… so basically you can fault the mess in iraq not on men, not on rummy and bushco, but on god now…. and just where now do i go to file a complaint with god, mr. pace? oh that’s right, god is never wrong, so you guys are all off the hook because you said so…. sheesh…. what a disgrace to the uniform….
October 19th, 2006 at 8:23 pmI guess someone needs to ask Rumsfeld why bad things happen to good people.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:24 pmDon’t they remove military personnel because of mental illness? This sick hypocrite should be discharged with a Section 8 (do they still call it that)
October 19th, 2006 at 8:24 pmWell, if this is true, the only conclusion is that God wants America to lose the war.
Why does the Almighty hate America??!!
October 19th, 2006 at 8:28 pmTo paraphrase a bumper sticker I saw on the highway: The last time we mixed politics and religion, we burned people at the stake.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:31 pmRummy is on another level, and should be rightly criticized from all angles and positions, but at the end of the day, how can any sane person say they don’t listen to god? I mean, each soul engages uniquely with God in contemplating divine mysteries according to its innate ability, and this engagement persists for all eternity, for the mysteries of the godhead are inexhaustible, as is the enthusiastic application of the souls’ intellectual ability.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:32 pmWell then… That should put to rest the Muslim argument that, “The ‘War on Terror’ Is a Crusade against the Islamic World”…..
October 19th, 2006 at 8:35 pmTo think there are more of these ultra straight-laced Jesus freaks with their fingers on the buttons.

Well then… That should put to rest the Muslim argument that, “The ‘War on Terror’ Is a Crusade against the Islamic Worldâ€â€¦..
October 19th, 2006 at 8:38 pm[...]how can any sane person say they don’t listen to god?
Comment by Thomas — October 19, 2006 @ 8:32 pm
For all your flowery rhetoric, you are very obtuse.
We all know what the general said -that God is actually telling Rusmfeld what to do, not that he is merely seeking divine guidance.
Do you actually talk to your god?
October 19th, 2006 at 8:40 pmDear God
I hope this isnt a self fulling prophecy pertaining to the conditions of armageddon and the end times. Is mankind really doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. Somehow I feel this is not your divine plan it cannot be that centuary after centuary mankind slaughter each other in endless wars.
Please intervine by some old fashion smitting it worked in the past.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:40 pmThank you.
[…]how can any sane person say they don’t listen to god?
Comment by Thomas — October 19, 2006 @ 8:32 pm
How can any sane person say that god is talking to them?
October 19th, 2006 at 8:42 pmNone of them know a goddamn thing about what they’re doing. Everything is based on some neo-con theory that turns out to be all wrong. We have the worst administration in the history of the country, and now we’re a criminal country–everyone–for letting this crew torture and cage humans.
George Bush has terrorized us back to the friggin’ stone age, and everyone who supports him is a Bible-thumping fool. If these are Christians, I’m friggin’ Elvis
October 19th, 2006 at 8:44 pmThe better question: Is God Inspired By Rumsfeld?
October 19th, 2006 at 8:44 pmThomas,
What else do the voices say?
October 19th, 2006 at 8:44 pmRumsfeld still thinks FDR is President so that tells you were his mine is. Notice how all the convicted GOP all call to God for help now Rummy is using God to get out of the mess he made with Iraq/Afghan. I hope the real Christians are reading this because they know that this is the work of Satan and his followers. Look Bush/Cheney/Rummy are followers of Satan and use God’s name to fool the Christians. Even Karl Rove is ready to run Ads to put fear back in the mines of Americans. Will Americans fall for the tricks and lies again as we watch out soldiers get killed as they are sitting ducks in the Iraq civil war and Afghan where the drugs took over the country as Bush/Cheney drilled for the pipeline for oil. Wake up America and vote for change on Nov. 7th
October 19th, 2006 at 8:45 pmWow, Rose Elvern! Well said!
October 19th, 2006 at 8:45 pmWhat does calling for Rumsfeld’s head really mean?
You know, it’s only mildly amusing that the Republicans, little by little, more and more are calling for Rumsfeld’s resignation. On the one hand you can argue that his entire term as
SecDef has been nothing but one catastrophic failure after another – and you’d be hard pressed to find any sane person arguing to the contrary. Afghanistan is on the threshold of
becoming, as Condi Rice put it, “a failed state”, and Iraq – well, Iraq is nothing short of a manmade cataclysm. But aren’t all of Donald’s failures George’s defeats as well? How can
he Secretary of Defense’s job proficiency be questioned without directly challenging the commander in chief’s competence as well? Why the disconnect?
Rumsfailed serves at the behest of the President of the United States.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:48 pmSo, Rumsfeld is channeling God and God is telling him to:
1. Put far fewer troops than neccessary to keep the peace in Iraq and Fire Gen. Shinseki, who recommended otherwise.
2. Ignore the experts in nation building at the Department of State. In fact ignore anyone with expertise of any kind.
3. Allow looters to strip bare the entire city of Bagdad and plunder it’s national treasures.
3. Fail to secure the borders of Iraq so that terrorists from all over the ME can come and join the fun.
4. Fail to secure the hundreds of weapons caches in Iraq so that the insurgents could help thenselves to tens of thousands of guns and expolosives.
5. Repeatedly ignore pleas of Generals for more troops.
And last but not least…
6. Insitute and impliment torture of detainees.
Makes atheism look pretty attractive. When Robert Dennet wrote that “Religon is a gold-plated excuse not to think” he must have had Rumsfeld (and Pace) in mind.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:53 pmThank you Zooey.

Real Christians know that bushco is closer to the anti-Christ known most often in the Bible as The Man of LAWLESSNESS
With bush’s signing statements that he is not going to obey the laws Congress passed and refusing to obey the Geneva Conventions that America signed onto and the vile Torture Military Commisions Act the whole evil cabal is very close to what Jesus called The Abomination That Causes Desolations aka the anti-christ which he warned Christians not to be fooled by.
Rapture Watch.com is another good Christian site that knows the evil of the PNAC, CFR Bush Criminal Syndicate.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:53 pmI read the article, and then threw up a little bit in my mouth.
Its going to be awfull hard to clean up this mess, with Dumbsfeld getting rid of all the generals that don’t follow his illegal orders.

October 19th, 2006 at 8:57 pmThe warning against false prophets has been all but forgotten by the Bush cultists.
See them prostrated at the feet of their false idols, praising and worshipping.
These people would make Stalin proud.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:57 pmIt’s true – Rummy is early Alzcheimers. When he goes to trial for war crimes he can use the “voices in his head”.
October 19th, 2006 at 8:58 pmIn other news…..General “My God is bigger than your god†Boykin was seen lobbying for a name change…..America’s Armed Forces should now be referred to as the Kingdom’s Warriors……
October 19th, 2006 at 9:00 pmSo does he mean the ‘eye for an eye’ god of the Old Testament or the ‘turn the other cheek’ god of the New?
October 19th, 2006 at 9:01 pmThey can SAY God inspired them,
But even God would not take the blame for the mess they have wrought.
And they should be ashamed for trying to include HIM in their total lack of ability and acountability.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:01 pmThere is the old story about the derelict asking God why He (God) caused all the bad things to happen to him (Bum). The traditional booming voice came down from the sky: “Because you pissed me off!”
That explains all of the bushco stunning triumphs in everything they have attempted: they pissed God off good! Next week Pace will be a Private toting his rifle in one hand and his gun in the other crying: “God, why did you do this to me?”
We may not be God but we can sure get pissed off. Join the revolution–Click on Clyde!
October 19th, 2006 at 9:03 pmLieutenant-General William G. Boykin (US Army): “I knew my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God and his was an idol.”

October 19th, 2006 at 9:09 pm“We in the army of God, in the house of God, kingdom of God have been raised for such a time as this”
Not really surprising. The man is senile as well.
PLEEEEEEEEAAASE!! GW.
Put him out to pasture where he can focus on his relationship with God…..and away from where he can get people killed.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:10 pm2003: regarding President George W. Bush “Why is this man in the White House? The majority of Americans did not vote for him. Why is he there? And I tell you this morning that he’s in the White House because God put him there for a time such as this.”
October 19th, 2006 at 9:12 pm-Lieutenant-General William G. Boykin (US Army)
Please, you all are dancing around the REAL issue here. To see it in absolute clarity, all you have to do is substitute “Allah” for “God” and “good lord” in the paragraph above.
After doing that, please explain to me the difference between the USA and the terrorists. Be specific.
Peace.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:12 pmJan., 2003 “Three days later we went after him again, and this time we got him. Not a mark on him. We got him. We brought him back into our base there and we had a Sea Land container set up to hold prisoners in, and I said put him in there. They put him in there, there was one guard with him. I said search him, they searched him, and then I walked in with no one in there but the guard, and I looked at him and said, ‘Are you Osman Atto?’ And he said ‘Yes.’ And I said, ‘Mr. Atto, you underestimated our God.”
October 19th, 2006 at 9:14 pm-General William G. Boykin
#38 That’s the point… we all get it!
October 19th, 2006 at 9:15 pmNo, we got it. The Christian right can’t see it, but we can. Religious extremism KILLS.
We don’t need any religious nuts in places of power where they can pretend they get direction from God and get us all killed…..whether that be Mulsim extremists, Jewish extremists, or Christian extremists or any others for that matter.
Secular…that’s the way to go.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:16 pmLT. GEN. WILLIAM BOYKIN: They’re after us because we’re a Christian nation.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:18 pmFALWELL: Well, if — if you don’t take the Bible seriously, what you and Hussein just said would be true. But the vast majority of believers worldwide, Christian, followers of Christ, believe that God rules in the affairs of men. And history would support that.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:21 pmBEGALA: So God put President Clinton in office?
FALWELL: You worked for a long time for Bill Clinton. You worked for a long time for Bill Clinton.
BEGALA: So God put him there?
FALWELL: I think that we needed Bill Clinton, because we turned our backs on the lord and we needed a bad president to get our attention again to pray for a good president. That’s what I believe.
“I feel like God wants me to run for President. I can’t explain it, but I sense my country is going to need me. Something is going to happen… I know it won’t be easy on me or my family, but God wants me to do it.”
October 19th, 2006 at 9:24 pm–George W. Bush commenting to Texas evangelist James Robinson in the run-up to his presidential campaign
“God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam [Hussein], which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them.”
October 19th, 2006 at 9:27 pm–Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Abu Mazen quoting Bush when they met in Aqaba; reported in The Haaretz Reporter by Arnon Regular
“I’m the Commander, see … I do not need to explain why I say things. That’s the interesting thing about being the President … [I] don’t feel like I owe anybody an explanation.”
October 19th, 2006 at 9:27 pm–Speaking to the National Security Council
As bad as GW is, I cannot imagine how bad this country would be if we had a President like Falwell.
At least Cheney’s greed tempers the religious mumbo jumbo once in a while.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:27 pmIf god is calling the shots in this administration then, with all due respect, He’s an idiot!
October 19th, 2006 at 9:29 pmMilitary and religious organizations have an abundance of sniveling little sycophants like Pace. His mind has been roboticized to believe his superiors are infallible. The only quote missing from this man is, “Ah! I love the smell of Rummy’s underwear in the morning.”.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:36 pm“how can any sane person say they don’t listen to god? I mean, each soul engages uniquely with God in contemplating divine mysteries according to its innate ability, and this engagement persists for all eternity, for the mysteries of the godhead are inexhaustible, as is the enthusiastic application of the souls’ intellectual ability.”
That sounds swell. What does it mean?
It seems to me that you are using the term god in a way that is devoid of content. Like, god is the wow-factor we feel when we contemplate concepts such as the infinities of space and time. Great, but… so what? That our biological systems are too limited to easily comprehend concepts outside of our evolutionary scale does not mean that those concepts are either the result of or manifestation of a “godhead”.
There’s a vast difference between being in awe of our universe, and feeling that we are personally directed by a specific personalized entity to take specific actions.
I would like some concrete evidence that anything remotely resembling a personal, manipulative god is directly and specifically giving daily instructions to Rummy, Dubya, you, or anyone else.
If you can’t at the very least provide such evidence, then please STFU about offering even a glimmer of justification for the murderous self-righteous fantasies of these or any leaders of any government.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:40 pmSo, the Christian god can’t find a second in all of human existence to address child molestation, rape, incest, starvation, murder, drought, pestilence, menstrual cramps, etc., yet he has regular conversations with Rumsfeld about how to kill innocent people for the sake of the American Empire?
Well, thank the Christian god that I don’t believe in him… He’s not a very bright fellow.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:48 pmIraq is tied to bin Laden…
Hussein has WMDs…
Aluminum tubes have no other purpose…
War will take six days, six weeks, or six months tops…
Mission accomplished…
Insurgency is in its death throes…
We had faulty intelligence…
Apparently these guys need to find another god to talk to because the one they’re using now is apparently not a very reliable source of information. Aside from giving them the wrong information on the topics above, their god also apparently failed to warn them in advance about the greatest terrorist threat in the history of the country, or foresee that Katrina could blow the LA levees and wreck the city. Worse, their god apparently failed to tell them to read the intelligence report predicting the bin Laden attack, and failed to tell them to turn on the TV to see what the weather bureau was predicting about Katrina 2-3 days prior to landfall.
Helluva “godhead” you people have there.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:57 pmNot so much a change in strategy for Rummy.
He’s never accepted responsibility for his actions, so he’s certainly not about to start now. Yet he’s run out of people and “unknown knowns” and “goodness gracious” hand wringing.
Maybe the only thing left for him to do, the only one left for him to blame, is God. Which is ironic considering that’s who Rummy seems to think he is. Maybe it’s his belief in God that led to insufficiently supplying our troops with necessary armor, that forced his hand not to plan an exit strategy, or for the insurgency or roadside bombs or sectarian violence or the genocidal loss of life or the billions of dollars in spending or the failure to create anything remotely close to a democracy in Iraq. (Just as during Saddam’s reign, new reports tell us that the current Iraqi government has outlawed any criticism of its leaders; it has, in fact, written this into the new constitution. Journalists are summarily being jailed, beaten, tortured and murdered for reporting the truth or expressing an opinion that runs counter to the puppet government set up by this White House -cough, cough – er, I mean elected by their people.)
Do we need any further proof that Gen. Peter Pace’s pack of pickled opinions on the war’s progress cannot be trusted? His creepily fascistic words about his boss are eerily reminiscent of the kind of idolatry lavished on Hitler by his generals, who, similarly, were motivated by two overarching factors: their will to promote a unified vision, no matter how wrong, and their individual desire to do whatever necessary to remain in good graces with their superiors.
October 19th, 2006 at 9:58 pmThe good lord must really hate our guts.
October 19th, 2006 at 10:04 pmShucks, I was going to recommend he resign for his incompetency but seeing how God is telling him what to do, I guess it must be alright then….. WTF
October 19th, 2006 at 10:07 pmPace is a sockpuppet, with Rummy’s hand up his a$$
October 19th, 2006 at 10:14 pmwe always knew, by that weird look in his face, that he was high on drinking the kool aid.
October 19th, 2006 at 10:31 pmTP bloggers, shame on you. Don’t you understand that the Honorable Mr. Rumsfeld is trying to lead the Defense department by seeking advice from our ultimate saviour, Jesus Christ. The bible states to put god first in everything you do. Per parables in the bible, in order for you to obtain anything good in life, you must go the trials and tribulations. This will be a long war, and soldiers will be sacrificed, but in the end we will win. TP bloggers, stop over-exaggerating. I’m very disappointed in each and every one of you for criticizing the Secretary of Defense. Jesus said, ” Judge not”. Secretary Rumsfeld is doing a good job whether or not you believe it. Please repent.
October 19th, 2006 at 10:33 pm“our ultimate saviour, Jesus Christ.”
Speak for yourself. Jesus Christ is NOT MY SAVIOUR. Get that into your grey matter between your ears. I don’t believe in the bible or your god. You have no hope of convincing me to believe in your god.
You are a fool, and have lost the ability to think for yourself.

October 19th, 2006 at 11:16 pmOh holy Moses, another fruit for the nut cake. Jumpin Jehosephet has the whole bunch gone armagedon happy?
What ever happened to our secular pluralistic government for the people by the people? Why is it so critical that we identify our religioius beliefs in order to be a part of the government? There is a VERY GOOD reason why there is a separation between church and state. I do believe we can see the reason in action. Lets all try to remember that we are all equal regardless of religion and belief. The moral fabric is only partly woven out of religious cloth, the rest is based on the LAW, THE CONSTITUTION and Common Sense.

October 19th, 2006 at 11:20 pmDid anyone ask, Which God is it? Rational observation would conclude Satan, that God. Death Destruction = God. ? Yeah right, your retards!!!!!!!!
“Rumsfeld is “a man whose patriotism focus, energy, drive, is exceeded by no one else I know … quite simply, he works harder than anybody else in our building,” Pace said”
That’s probably mental illness, I’ve seen old footage of Rummy when his high pitched voice gave him away as a Psychopath-Nerd. Guys!, you should see it, him trying to convince the CIA that the Soviet technology was so advanced that we couldn’t see it!!!! Oh boy did the CIA think he was a nut then, and now he’s the same yet, more dangerous and Psychopathic!
I think we all need a crash coarse in identifying mental illness. Because this is exactly what Hard Core Republicans, you know that anti- anti- everything all the time crowd) are exibiting, to the letter, perfect raging cases of mental illness, along with huge amounts of Psychological Projection.
Everyone look that up! Cause having a basic understanding of it will help you. These crazies, these people suffering from anti-social personality disorder (the criminally minded), the achellies heel for them is their rampit, raging, foaming and constant Psychological Projection…they will tell you EVERYTHING about them by blaming it on the Left.
These Republicans are idiots who have no understanding of history since they keep trying the same ignorant, prejudiced, control-freak attitudes that have always failed, always! That’s why Iraq looks like Vietnam, its the same damn thing. Except 30% of the population wasn’t paying attention the first time around, and aren’t paying attention even now that it happens twice.
The prejudice that didn’t want black to vote or women to vote is the same thing as not allowing gays to marry. It’s just prejudice that the ignorant people, seemingly brain-dead just keep trying the same old, worn out shtick.
And you can’t argue with them. Because they don’t give a sh*t! They can’t rationalise their idiologies. They don’t argue or debate with you, because they can’t! That’s why just understanding this phenomnon as a group of mentally insane people is gonna work to errode these people.
They are much lower than you might believe! (Or maybe you already know. I know some of you do) These people aren’t a part of a politically party, they are just the infantile, retarded or slightly retarded, mentally ill individuals who don’t want to behave in society, and want to control you because they are scared. Partly scared because they don’t want to live in a world where they are put in their place, which is identified as the certifibly insane.
October 19th, 2006 at 11:29 pmThis is God here!

Just saying they are insane does not help. I think if there is anything that is “insane” then we must recognize Bushco as insane. However, they are only the flower of a system of government that idolizes the accumulation of wealth and using that wealth for obscene power not for social benefit. Everyone in the USA has been chasing the “manifest destiny” thing for two hundred years.
The USA needs a moral awakening.
As a starter, it would be simplest if you just gathered some disliking for killing people in order to enrich yourselves.
I see Americans now as not being angry that you started killing people in Iraq but that you didn’t kill enough to convince them you were the owner of their country.
One simple premise must be recognized by Americans: your attack of Iraq was illegal, was mass murder, was robbery, and pillage in the name of the United States of America.
Because of your own greed you accepted the carrot on the stick of “tax cuts.” Now, shame on you!
The corporate holders of the stick with a carrot were given the right to rob and pillage the coffers of the United States and Iraq and thereby transfer obscene amounts of money and military power into their own private hands.
The USA is no longer a significan power. Sure you can threaten, kill, maim, rape, pillage but you have no moral power.
As for your “democracy” it is a bloated corpse floating in the streets of New Orleans.
The enemies of America are very clearly the American corporations with bank accounts in foreign countries filled with funds that are the spoils of warring. This same group now has private armies with modern weaponry, and more crazies who are trained to kill and are paid big dollars to kill you if given the order.

#2) Rummy is not the one talking to God, he is the one listening to God, God is talking to Rummy.
#3) Bush is the one that talks to God and listens to God…And God tells him things to do or gives him Missions…” I’m on a Mission from God”
I think, right?
By the way, does God call Rumsfeld,,,,”Rummy”?

Um, well, no. Most people are just trying to live their daily lives and provide food and shelter for their families. Try to contain your xenophobia.

Pfffffft. Moralizers of either left or right are not welcome. I’ve had enough of self-important hypocrites claiming their version of the moral high ground.
As a starter, it would be simplest if you just gathered some disliking for killing people in order to enrich yourselves.
More generalizing. There are a lot of shamelessly stupid people in the US, but no more than our fair share compared to everywhere else. Get a grip. I’ve spent a lot of time in many countries on all (populated) continents, and I fail to see the moral superiority anywhere. Humankind in general is a mess, I would agree with that, but your specific attack on Americans discloses an irrational bias.
One simple premise must be recognized by Americans: your attack of Iraq was illegal, was mass murder, was robbery, and pillage in the name of the United States of America.
This is called “preaching to the choir.”
Too bad you spoil your valid points by combining them with hate speech insulting the millions of people with whom you share much common ground.
October 20th, 2006 at 12:21 amUS may have weeks, not months, to avert all-out civil war in Iraq
by John in DC – 10/19/2006 09:24:00 AM
SF Chronicle:
…in a sign of the growing sense of urgency, a member of a high-powered government advisory body that is developing options to prevent Iraq’s chaotic collapse warns that the United States could have just weeks, not months, to avoid an all-out civil war.
“There’s a sense among many people now that things in Iraq are slipping fast and there isn’t a lot of time to reverse them,” said Larry Diamond, one of a panel of experts advising the Iraq Study Group, which is preparing a range of policy alternatives for President Bush.
“The civil war is already well along. We have no way of knowing if it’s too late until we try a radically different course,” said Diamond, an expert on building democracies who is at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and is a former adviser to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq.
October 20th, 2006 at 12:34 amDoug, I agree with Gorn. Your generalizations are simplistic. You are tarring all Americans with the same brush. There are about 100 million of us who vehemently disagree with our current federal government. Even more would disagree if they weren’t swayed by the corporate-controlled media.
I travel quite a lot, and the foreigners I interact with (mostly educated Europeans and Asians) are able to separate the actions of our government from the beliefs and values of individual Americans. You seem unable too, however.
October 20th, 2006 at 12:37 amI had the distinct pleasure of meeting General Pace during my tour in Iraq. A true leader of warriors.
This man commands such great respect; every word that comes from his mouth should be taken very seriously.
Thanks for the tip, ThinkProgress. I’ll be sure to blog (here)about his other compliments for our Secretary of Defense.
October 20th, 2006 at 1:28 amPace makes the list of “Republican Quotes of the Week.”
October 20th, 2006 at 1:48 amEver notice how God doesn’t mind when we decide to kill people of other nations for whatever reasons? But if you kill someone here it is a crime and a sin. These people (the republicans) are sick hypocrites. They (the republicans, again) are a scurge to humanity!
October 20th, 2006 at 2:02 amGeneral Pace must either resign from the Pentagon, or be court-martialed, because Rumsfeld is incompetent and a war criminal > NOT a man inspired by God!
October 20th, 2006 at 2:22 amWhy is God telling me something different than He’s telling Bush and Dumsfeld?
October 20th, 2006 at 2:48 am“I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.”–Susan B. Anthony.
October 20th, 2006 at 3:51 amTrue of the terrorists, true of Rumsfeld and the rest of this administration.
We all need to stand back, so we can see the big picture, Rum and Bush are front men, puppets, who are the puppeteers,
Those Gods that are being used to promote mass murders only exist in the minds of those who see God as a tool,
I believe the God being worshiped is a antichrist disguised as God, that is why people are blinded by greed and hatred, they say they are doing Gods work, what kind of work would a antichrists puppet be involved in, make a list, because you will then realise the antichrist is using human beings who have lost their sanity. they become involved with greed and hatred, the war on terror is a smoke screen, who is making the most money out of all this terror, who is making lots of money in oil, weapons and security. the Bible is full of information that proves God is out of sight ,out of mind, Bush may believe he speaks with God, but God has been replaced with the antichrist who is disguised as God, what do you think, at least this is another avenue we could go down, because we are going nowhere, while are freedoms are being taken away,
October 20th, 2006 at 6:02 amGod sure is a dog then, a war-mongerer, a pure-bred killing machine. If God is pulling Rumsfeld’s strings, he must think there is no way for peace to move forward without the use of excessive and useless military power in the form of: MOAB’s, cluster bombs, radioactive bombs, the torturing of prisoners of war and denying them the right of a honest trial. Ooh, how I love that God, Dog, whatever.
October 20th, 2006 at 6:27 amWhat else can one say but: Holy shit!
October 20th, 2006 at 7:30 amGreat, most of us are in agreement. Now let’s overcome the right wing comment’s page. Hannity. Limbaugh. Go to their sites. Counter their acceptance of this crap. Write to Pace himself. Thinkprogress can organize an e-mail letter to the Pentagon, instead of wasting energy on some smirking sap like Chris Wallace. He is not important. We don’t need to be the defenders of a Bill Clinton, a Jimmy Carter nor a George Washington for that matter. They’re all well enough cared for. Peter Pace and his pack of wild-eyed killers are the monsters we must attack now! Get a fifty thousand signed e-mail. A hundred thousand. Let’s put a watch on him. Drive by his house. Megaphones out the window. “Dear Peter. We are your God. And we are watching you!”
October 20th, 2006 at 8:04 amOtherwise, aren’t we just another end of the vanity spectrum?
I never talked to that guy
October 20th, 2006 at 8:09 amEven more dangerous than mixing religion and politics is mixing religion and military
October 20th, 2006 at 8:52 amNow we know what Rummy’s and W’s defenses will be at their war crimes trial. They hear voices, so they are not responsible due to insanity. Nice. When will America wake up to these hypocrites?
October 20th, 2006 at 9:18 amAHHHHH!!!! Bush and Rummy, the ANTI-CHRIST team has arrived, no they have been elected by culpable CHRISTIANS. Evil at work, I mean GOD probaly wants us to do better by his creation, not destroy it. How can evengelicals be so stupid? Funny how they beleive Christ is our salvation, then turn around and SHIT on everything he stood for. Not a recipe for Christian success.
Texas Juice
October 20th, 2006 at 10:06 am#92 – Thanks, God. I wondered…
October 20th, 2006 at 10:12 amIf these men were really following God’s instructions then our country wouldn’t be in the mess it’s in right now. In the Bible, when God’s people follow his instructions they are victorious against their enemies and enjoy peace and prosperity.
These men are false prophets, using religion to line their pockets at the expense of the poor. They are not patriots, they are not following Christ and they without a doubt the worst administration in our country’s history.
October 20th, 2006 at 10:17 amI do believe that God does “talk” to us, through our conscience. Since they couldn’t muster a whole conscience between them, BushCo can’t hear God. They don’t follow the principles put forth in the Bible, at least those God advocates.
People with impulse control difficulties have problems processing negating words. If a child with ADHD is told “don’t run”, they tend to hear the action, “run”, and not the qualifying negating word, “don’t” so they run. Maybe BushCo comprehends the Ten Commandments this way – “thou shalt kill”, “thou shalt steal”, “thou shalt bear false witness against thy neighbor”.
October 20th, 2006 at 10:27 amThat’s a hell of a load of bullshit to use to defend you own failure there, Donny, and it’s an unconscionable insult to any and every religious person in the US.
October 20th, 2006 at 11:39 amYo, Rummy! This is GOD. Place that barrel in your mouth, cock the hammer and pull on the trigger. Now.
October 20th, 2006 at 12:11 pmHe must be one of the “Wackos” Karl Rove dissed.
Bush and company say they are followers of Christ like Conatantine was, using religious beliefs to prop up one’s own beliefs and maintain power.
Just more pandering to the “base” (Quaeda?)
October 20th, 2006 at 12:16 pmProblem is we have too many prophets in this administration. I bet Bush is pissed someone took his role as Christ almighty! LOL What a total joke this admin is.
October 20th, 2006 at 2:48 pmIts not about what God wants us to do, its about what we can do for God, as Kennedy once said , “its not what the country can do for you but what you can do for the country” oops JB is DOING THE COUNTRY FOR HIMSELF,
October 20th, 2006 at 10:52 pmProphets do not foretell the future, they set the agenda for the future, so JB must be a Prophet.
October 20th, 2006 at 10:56 pm1. It is sad when religion and power mixed together produce men and governments that are unable to see themselves and the effects of their policies objectively.
2. Gen. Peter Pace may sincerely believe that “He (Mr. Rumsfeld) leads in a way that the good Lord tells him is best for our country.” Okay that’s fine. He is free to voice his opinion. However, what the nation needs in these testing times is for men such as the JCS Chairman (Gen. Pace) to pluck up some courage, salute the flag and do what is right for the country, NOT defend one man’s leadership and reputation.
3. The good Lord may be telling Mr. Rumsfeld what is best for America but he also said “My words will be your judge”. Here are some of those words that are written: “What you sow, that you shall reap”. And – “a tree is known by the fruit it bears”. Also – “your sins will find you out”. I’m sorry to say that in daring to use God, the President and his men will be brought low.
October 20th, 2006 at 11:39 pmWe are in BIG TROUBLE when the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has such a disconnect from reality.
October 21st, 2006 at 10:00 pmOne must wonder just how many of these holy crusader-types the Bush administration has been jockeying into powerful military positions. What happens when a Democratic president takes office and makes decisions they don’t like, a military coup?
Know one believes anything anymore, 27 Isreali passport holders in the White House inspiring George Bush to act like their God, so who is swinging the lead.
