Abramoff gets a desk at the FBI.

U.S. News reports that fallen lobbyist Jack Abramoff “spends up to four hours a day detailing his shady business to agents eager to nail more congressmen in the scandal. And when cooperative witnesses spend that much time inside, they get a desk.” Federal officials are also hoping to place him in a nearby prison after he is sentenced.

He can have a chair, too, even a nice swivel one IF he’s giving information which leads to more transparency in government.

another corrupt republican appointed to a government job. what’s new

  3. Jay Randal says:

LOL do they shackle Abramoff to the desk? Do they feed him stale donuts and old coffee? Does he get bathroom breaks?

  4. dlet says:

I wonder if any of the Feds got a free trip to the Marianas for the desk. For a warm cup of joe and a deck of cards he knows someone that can get you into a good country club.

I had to chuckle watching the Tester vs Burns debate in Montana this past weekend.
When Tester brought up the fact the Abramoff scandal was reaching out to include Burns, several people booed him.
    That didn’t phase Tester.
Burns is a worn out old corrupt crony of Sen. Roberts, et al.
It’s time for him to go.
The only defense he could come up with was ‘Seniority’ will
    put me in importatn positions.
Conrad, the only position I want to see you in is prone.
OTOH, you don’t know jackshit, but you do inow Jack.

Fantastical. Please let the FBI know the P-man was in on it too. Don’t worry, failiure is a virtue in this administration – you’ll be met as a liberator.

  12. dd says:

Is this to coordinate the cover story or skewer some bad guys? If the FBI is part of the justice department and the executive branch, maybe they can investigate Congress, but should not an independent investigator be appointed to avoid a conflict of interest when investigating his dealings with the White House?

  13. spyder says:

I suppose that means that Doolittle is getting a new desk soon as well. He is officially classified as a “cooperating witness;” is that not the titular appelation for a person who has plead out something, such as a nolo contendre agreement????

Weird stuff! How very awkward for them!

  15. Dog_named_Boo says:

Hey isn’t this the guy that also called the Christian Right wackos?

In plain terms, Scanlon confessed the source code of recent Republican electoral victories: Target religious conservatives, distract everyone else, and then railroad through complex initiatives. …

The brilliance of this strategy was twofold: Not only would most voters not know about an initiative to protect Coushatta gambling revenues, but religious “wackos” could be tricked into supporting gambling at the Coushatta casino even as they thought they were opposing it.

College Republicans have included Deputy White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove, prominent Republican strategist Lee Atwater, Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist, U.S. Senator Rick Santorum, North Carolina Congressman Patrick McHenry, lobbyist Jack Abramoff and Canadian political consultant Joshua Workman.

See they learned to lie and be crooks very early on!!

While he’s there, why don’t they ask him more about the hit-job on Gus Boulis in Florida.. you don’t think he wasn’t party to that too?

They’d best be counting the pens around that office….10 years from now there’ll be a great scandal involving all the data Jack stole while he was hanging around FBI HQ.
