Maybe what evil, heartless bastards are thinking. I was thinking, “Dang, Michael’s condition really has gotten worse, poor guy.” At least he CHOSE to speak out, unlike the Republicans using poor Terri Shievo (sp?) for some misguided posturing.
Matt, dahlink, pull out your hairplugs and give Katie another colonoscopy…with your tongue. I’m sure she misses you. These pricks make me want to puke.
“when he testified before Congress, he decided to go off his medication”
Is that true? If it is, then why did he go off the medication? Was it so that the effects of his disease wouldn’t be suppressed? If so, then why is it so shocking that someone would accuse him of doing it again?
Micheal J. Fox admitted that he took to much of his meds and that is what caused him to act like that. Either way, he at least admitted that it was a stunt and he took to much of his meds to make it look worse for the camera. I say, good for him for admitting it.
These idiots don’t know shit. It’s the medication that causes the ticks and twitches. It’s one of the side effects. If he doesn’t take his medication then on a bad day he could literally freeze up. As in very little movement. It’s sort of hard to function when you can’t move at all.
Matt Lauer is just another corporate talking head full of nothing of substance.
I guess Mr. Lauer was not aware of the effect of that ad. See the “Fox Effect” post further down the TP front page. Guess what Matt and Rush, for the majority of Americans, that ad was very effective. I would take that to mean that most Americans were not thinking what Rush was saying.
I don’t think Fox was off his medication either time. I think crooksandlairs.com has a video of his appearance before Congress and he wasn’t off his meds. I think he said he was waiting for them to kick in.
But that’s not the point. Lauer is giving people the idea that it’s ok to attack someone who have a real disease. What’s next? Attacking people in wheel chairs for appearing on TV?
Pay no attention to the trolls. Their blather is necessary to justify their rightousness in their minds.
Here’s the deal.
Michael J. Fox is sick.
It is a debilitating disease that gets worse over time.
There IS NO CURE for what he has.
Like every person who has ever had this disease, Michael J. Fox would like to see a cure. Unlike average Americans, Mr. Fox can use his celebrety and influence to put a face on this degenerative disease and get more people to think about what needs to be done to find a cure - not just for Michael, but for every American who is affected.
Trolls have a need to automatically gainsay and rationalize away anything that might be said against their glorious leaders. It’s part of being a right wing authoritarian. They’d argue with you if you said the sky was blue, simply because they cannot admit that a liberal might be right about something.
Good lord. The point is that MJFox shouldn’t have to take medication AT ALL. We should do absolutely everything humanly possible to cure Parkinson’s, cancer, Alzheimer’s - even if it does offend the wingnuts. Whether Fox is on meds or off is neither here nor there - he’s dying from a horribly debilitating disease.
Fox has also done commercials for Arlen Spector, a Republican, who also happens to be in favor of stem cell research. I didn’t hear Rush whining about Fox when he was endorsing a Republican.
Roger is, of course, confused. He’s referring to a passage in Fox’s book about testimony he gave YEARS AGO in front of Congress. He was in a much earlier state, and wanted congress members to see a little of what was in store for him. Today, years later, he needs the drugs to even move. He’s further along now, Roger, so without the drug, he’d be completely immoble.
and no, i sure as hell wasn’t thinking that…than again, i actually KNOW someone who had PD, so i can ya know, speak from experience, which just isn’t impressive or as “magical” as teh “feelings”
what an asshole. ignorant, ignorant, ignorant. when will this end!???!!
are their any efforts to bring truth and accountability to the media? anything we can do besides changing the channels?
these people make me physically ill…compassion my ass. it is unbelievable. disgusting. fire matt lauer. fire rush limbaugh.
#18, yeah remember how “Dr.” Frist diagnosed her? And then we found out he lied on his medical license application because he didn’t do enough practice or continuing education. One of my favorite Frist moments.
At what point in our “Democracy” (if you can call it that anymore) did it become a crime for a citizen to stand up and endorse a political candidate?
Fox has a terrible disease and it should be understandable to anyone that he would support candidates that support legislation to fund Stem Cell research that could offer a cure. It is his right to do so.
So what does it matter if he was on his medication or off it? No one is denying that he has Parkinson’s — a disease that given the current available treatment, WILL KILL HIM! So whether we see him twitching on camera or not, means nothing.
When do the stupid comments about Michael J. Fox and his disease stop? When does the nonsense stop? When does the hate stop? For God’s sake, Matt Lauer in agreement with Rush L.? Why? Michael J. Fox hasn’t suffered enough because of this disease? Matt f***ing Lauer has to add to his pain? Shame on him. Shame on anyone posting here who feels they have the right to make fun of Michael J. Fox.
Matt Lauer thinks that Michael J. Fox was faking or exaggerating the effects of Parkinson’s Disease? Well, then…if Matt Lauer can’t be bothered to do even the most elementary research into Parkinson’s Disease before making these kinds of comments, then perhaps it would not be entirely unwarranted to consider the possibility that he’s faking or exaggerating his skills as a bona fide journalist…hmmmmmm? The fact that a lot of people are thinking a certain way doesn’t automatically mean those people are correct — especially not when the issue at hand is related to the medical field and the people in question are not trained healthcare professionals.
Micheal J. Fox admitted that he took to much of his meds and that is what caused him to act like that. Either way, he at least admitted that it was a stunt and he took to much of his meds to make it look worse for the camera. I say, good for him for admitting it.
You’re full of crap, Roger. You have absolutely nothing to base that on. To say something like that, you haven’t even been paying attention to the facts of this story. None of what you said is true.
This just shows is how pathetically hysterical republicraps are about losing power and how morally vacant they are these days. It also shows what a lowdown, dirty rat Matt lauer is. I see his face, I can’t get to the channel button too soon.
#26 Pat, it’s because Rush and all who get their marching orders from him can only think to attack the messenger when they can’t come up with a reasoned response to the message. Kind of like a kid on the playground saying “Oh yeah? Well YOU’RE STUPID!”
First off, I have watched one of my Uncle’s die from Parkinson’s and am watching another Uncle die from it who is currently very near the end of his struggle. Unlike you, I am not making assumptions or looking to bend the information for political gain or for some form of mental masturbation.
The “symptoms” of Parkinson’s of which you speak, that of the uncontrollable movements, is actually not a symptom of Parkinson’s at all, it is a side effect of the medication. You see, Parkinson’s will cause a victim to freeze, be incapable of movement, and be unresponsive.
So, if you want to know what Michael J. Fox would look like if he was not taking his medication, you simply have to just look at a still frame image. There will be no movement or sound and only a blank but desperate look in his eyes.
Now, if any further non-medical professionals wish to debate Mr. Fox’s “genuineness” in regard to his disease, why don’t you instead find a cancer patient near you and ask them if their hair actually fell out of if they shaved their head so as to gain sympathy. Or, if you want to know EXACTLY how a Parkinson’s victim acts or dies, ask me any question you want.
Oh, and Mr. Lauer, you and I are going to have words.
Lauer is giving people the idea that it’s ok to attack someone who have a real disease.
Comment by tyler — October 26, 2006 @ 5:17 pm
It IS okay to attack someone who has a real disease. It’s okay to attack ANYONE, as long as they are guilty of what you’re attacking them for. In this case…. BZZT! Wrong. Try again.
What if Michael J. Fox was in the early stages of Alzheimers? Would everyone be “thinking”, “Gee, I don’t think he’s forgotten enough yet.” ??? The neocons have to bash people with diseases in order to try and get a few votes??? WTF???
When I was watching Limbaugh I thought what an ignorant racist bigot and a great overweight poster child for a heart attack. Surely he must acting or faking his over the top hatred for 70% of America.
Why does Lush RimJaubgh hate America and embrace Bigotry?
Gosh, this is certainly a much more CRITICAL national issue than say, corruption and lying in congress. Let’s pretend that this is a big issue so that we don’t have to read about the numerous investigations into failed and lying Republicans. So what is more Americans died today in Iraq and billions more were wasted by Republican corporate cronies? We certainly can’t have actors with a terminal disease pointing out the truth about candidates who happen to believe they live in the stone age.
Humanist,
You are so on the mark.
I’m sorry about your family’s history and involvement.
The freezing, Akinetic periods, can last 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Has anyone noticed MJF’s voice? It’s starting to affect the quality of his enunciation.
Next on MJF’s list is Chest PT, because his breathing will start slowing. His swallowing will become difficult.
Not good. Lauer and Limbaugh have no freakin’ idea.
It’s horrible.
Here is the email I sent to NBC and my local affiliate. Feel free to borrow and craft your own, but make sure you send it to the affiliate.
This morning the Today show lost a viewer when Matt Lauer said this:
“LAUER: And you brought up Michael J. Fox. Let me just ask you: You know, Rush Limbaugh started a lot of controversy when he said perhaps Michael J. Fox was exaggerating or faking these effects of Parkinson’s disease in that ad promoting stem cell research. Didn’t Rush Limbaugh just say what a lot of people were privately thinking?”
Actually, Matt, what people were thinking is this, “There but for the grace of God go I.”
Furthermore, Fox’s taping of a commercial supporting stem cell research does not mean that people like Limbaugh have the right to accuse him of lying; what Lauer referred to as “being taken to account”. People can disagree with Fox, but they don’t have the right to call him a liar.
In addition to turning off the Today show at my home I will also take the following steps.
* I’ll be speaking with the people who run my gym, the Olympic Athletic Club in Seattle, and asking them to switch the televisions to CBS.
* I’ll also make sure that everyone I know - including the other parent’s at my kids’ school as well as the people at the Phinney Neighborhood Association in Seattle - realize that Matt Lauer believes it is acceptable to mock and ridicule those with Parkinson’s disease.
I am privately thinking that Matt Lauer is a douchebag.
Publicly I am saying that Rush Limpbaugh is an obese pill junkie with a soft weenie and three divorces and a penchant for vacationing in nations that cater to under age sex tourists.
#37, whoa, back off there Humanist. I’m sorry for your loss. But I was asking a question there in my post, not making a statement. The TP link has a transcript where Ingram made the statement that he went off his meds for congress. I was questioning whether that was true or not. I’m not bending anything, I’m just looking for the truth.
Who knew Matt Lauer was such a Republican sell-out. Then again, he and Bush were getting pretty touchy-feely during Matt’s softball interview of the Oilman-in-Chief.
Matt Lauer is apparently just as clueless as Rush. Probably even a big fan as well. It wouldn’t surprise me if he caught it live and thought it was funny. From his comment I would put anything past Lauer.
Gosh, this is certainly a much more CRITICAL national issue than say, corruption and lying in congress. Let’s pretend that this is a big issue so that we don’t have to read about the numerous investigations into failed and lying Republicans.
Bob, just because it’s not about what you want it to be doesn’t mean it’s not worthwhile. Here’s the deal: Michael J. Fox struck a nerve. The GOP knows it’s on the losing end of this issue. A big chunk of their own people, possibly half, are on the side of stem cell research. They’re pulling out all the stops to try to sink this issue because it’s killing them. As we all learned from 2004, Swiftboating 101, you push back immediately and push back hard. When the Rethugs start to figure out that they can’t win this one and they’re only hurting their candidates, they’ll be ready to change the subject.
How does it hurt us to slap them down on this one when we can slap them down on other issues at the same time? If you don’t want to read about it, skip this thread.
Split the hairs all you want, hairsplitters - equivocators, the fact is the man has the disease, stem cell research may someday lead the way to therapies for the disease, and he’s well within his rights to appear on tv to talk about it, however the hell he wants to. Shame on anyone who’d waste the time bantering over whether and how much madicine he had/didn’t have. F**k the gop and their mouthpieces for crying “foul” and “politics” about it, because that is all they ever do themselves, or ever have done for christ’s sake. Are there those who believe that Republicans aren’t playing politics? wtf!?, people….
Sorry, Southwest Bob,
I really like your contributions, but chimpeach is right:
MJF did hit a nerve.
You just don’t mess with “Alex P. Keaton”!
We’ve known him forever. He’s like the boy next door.
Remember when Mike Ditka yelled at Doug Flutie?
He was flooded with angry calls from people standing up for Flutie. He later recalled it as “Like yelling at Bambi.”
There are some people who just grab your heart. MJF is one.
Ah, yes, Matt Lauer. Matt was married in the 1980’s to Nancy Alspaugh but that marriage ended in divorce. He had a brief fling with Kristen Gesswein, a television newscaster, and that relationship filed.
In 1998 he married Jade Roque. She is Dutch, Chinese, and Indonesian by heritage and they have had two children: a son and a daughter. In the summer of 2005, Lauer and his wife separated, but for now they have reconciled and are curently back together.
A quote from Lauer: “My dad was Jewish. My mom is not. So I was not raised anything. I do feel a desire now to find something spiritual.”
I mean, if watching the tragic plight of a decent, kind and likeable guy like Michael J. Fox doesn’t touch something “spiritual” in Lauer, then he and and Rush Limpdick deserve each others shitty company.
I think Ronald Reagan was faking Alzheimers, so Nancy had no right to ask for support of embryonic stem cell research. It’s what everyone is privately thinking.
When did reporting the news become like making a f@#king diary entry? I didn’t get that memo… Facts are facts, so these “personalities” need to get over themselves for the preservation of our Democracy.
Millions of true Americans have been and are willing to die for the First Amendment, but lying is not a form of true expression. Sorry.
Just wanted to let you know how abhorent I found Matt Lauer’s comments regarding Michael J. Fox this morning:
“And you brought up Michael J.
The fact remains: Michael J. Fox has Parkinson’s disease and there is no cure. He has every right to speak out in favor of candidates who are willing to consider the benefits that stem cell research can bring to curing debilitating illnesses. It’s funny, but I saw a commercial of Fox endorsing Arlen Spector because he supports stem cell research. I never heard a word of displeasure over that ad from Republicans.
I’ll be honest, haven’t watched the Today Show since Katie Couric attempted to include Democrats in the list of people who took money from disgraced former lobbyist Jack Abramoff, which is a well known fabrication. Given the continued conservative bias in your show, it’s probably just as well. Isn’t it about time that the Today Show took news seriously and hired qualified journalists instead of photogenic people who can read their lines?
The reich winged nut job’s here and in media land use any and all means to slam every one not in their frame of thinking…….Terry Shrivo (sp) was a pawn to use for their own purpose. Now if they can they will critizise Michael J. Fox and may even reserect and chastize Christopher Reeves for his support on stem cell research…This bunch and their followers are evil and stupid, never mind the fact’s, every one is suposto think their way or the highway….Dumbasses all….
How dare you speak for me? How dare you assume that the rest of the people are thinking like Rush Limbaugh. I expected better from you. I can say I will no longer be watching your show.
I think you owe Mr. Fox, and the people you spoke for an apology. And I think that it would serve you well to research the effects of medication regarding a disease before you make such blanket statements.
Thanks
SO I haven’t watched the show in a long time, but if they think they’re losing viewers, maybe they’ll listen.
In order to effect a heart or lung transplant, someone has to die. Stem cells can be harvested from still births, uterine and placental tissue as well as about-to-be discarded blast cysts. Where is the moral issue?
71 - Walt - there is no moral issue, except for those whose weak understanding of science gives way to emotion when they are played for fools by demagogues; but heck, we’ve got that same thing happening in every area of policy-making right now, so it’s really just the same old shite.
I’m with you blue……I would like to bitch slap all these reich winged wackos and media nut job’s into November 8th for their ignorance and mean spirited attitudes…..None are even worthy to kiss Michael’s feet much less get coverge….If I owned these station’s I would fire these people on the spot and do it while they were on the air…..Blessings.
every parent has to tell their kid, at least once, “sweetie, you don’t say things like that out loud… we will talk about it at home, in private”
most of these repugs act worse than petulant little brats who did not have any guidance in their early years… and dumbya is at the head of that class… limpball might make it a tie… hard to say…
.
Cons would rather have the debate on Micheal Fox, and no whether or not stem cells could provide a viable option in new theraphyies down the line for a whole host of human conditions. Again, this is a silly Ad Hominem.
Fox has Parkison either way. It’s not going away.
This Con-game, like drug laws and the death penately and bigotry against homosexuality, stems from a religous worldview. Which is, rightwing christian legalism and fundmentalism
I wonder if Lauer meant that this is what ARLEN SPECTER was thinking?
Why is Republican Arlen Specter leaving Michael Fox out to dry and be smeared by wingnuts when Michael Fox’s first political ad on stem cell was made for SPECTER, a Republican?
Let’s all call Specter and ask if Fox was exaggerating and acting in the commercial Fox made for HIM.

Comment by trueblue
Yes, its just awful, trueblue. I am a big fan of his. It should be noted that Fox has also done ads for republicans as well. Like Arlen Specter. His fight against Parkinson’s Disease and support for stem cell research and not driven by politics.
Unfortunately, the shameless scumbags and pukes like Rush and Lauer will attack anyone who is not in lockstep with their beliefs.
I wonder how Limpballs will attack Fox now after his appearance on CBS tonight. Limpballs actually hurt his party with those remarks because now it is an issue that everyone is thinking about and that is not good for the GOP. People seeing Fox in the AD or on CBS tonight will begin to look at Stem Cell reasearch differently and that only helps Democrats. Such as here in Michigan this will hurt DeVos because he is against it and it will only help Granholm. However if Limpballs had kept his mouth shut, people in this state may have turned a blind eye to the issue but now they are forced to look at it and that only helps Democrats.
Joe,
Bambambama above addressed Specter.
Isn’t it funny (well, not really) how the Republicans change their tunes only when something affects them personally?
#54 & #59: Excellent points, thanks and I agree. Of all the people who should push back, I am probably a good candidate. I have recently diagnosed terminale cancer. My doctors - you end up with quite a group - all agree that stem cell and genetic research are the key to curing these awful diseases. So, prsident bush’s veto of stem cell research was very personal.
Terminal disease patients have to deal with reality. We do not have the liberty or time to pretend about anything. MJF has been great to devote his remaining life to fighting for cure. Can any of his critics say the same?
We can also wonder who may really be the sponsor and choreographer of the current (mis)administrations opposition to stem cell research…. namely the pharmaceutical industry.
If there are found to be cures and treatments for any number of life-threatening or dibilitating diseases that don’t require DRUGS, who’s the big loser then?
(Good question for Mr. Rumpsfelt)
NO, Southwest Bob.
No.
Please contact other Dr’s.
Cancer Center of America.
Come to MA. We have great hospitals here.
I live here. I’d help. cforrest@capecod.net
You’ll be spammed out, but I’ll look for you.
Just type trueblue in the subject, and I’ll add you.
Matt Lauer has joined the morons of the world.
At one time people thought blacks were 3/5 of a white person; did that make it so?
At one time people thought segregation was OK; did that make it so?
It is the medication that causes those involuntary movements - if he was off his meds, he would be “frozen.”
These guys haven’t left the school playground - like bullies, making fun of the kid with disabilities.
Bush Limpwad may have voluntarily aquired a terminal affliction with his latest callous utterances.
His greatest appeal in America is to the Biff type bullies who listen to him because he is allowed, by virtue of free speech, to say things that the average citizen at home, work, or on the street would get divorced, fired, or arrested for saying.
I’d like to see the Today Show give Michael J. Fox equal on-air time to speak with Matt Lauer and make that piece of s**t look like the ass that he is. Why doesn’t he say what he said to Michael J. Fox’s face. If he were a real man (which he isn’t), he would. The cure to this problem is simple, do not watch the Today Show. Give the finger the Matt Lauer and NBC.
Repub Neocons run-a-round attacking anyone who disagrees or confronts them and shows how stupid their Blind Faith attitudes really are. So they run this away and that way screaming at who will ever listen how morally superior they are. And if they think some thing then the rest of the world better think the same way or their whole existence is in jeopardy.
They are afraid…
They are COWARDS!
His bravado reminds me of Bush with his “bring it on” ego-fluffer. I certainly think he will continue to court the outrageous until he meets his own Iraq, if not now… not long from now… it’s in his nature. He has such devious, underhanded methods and intention, it’s going to be a good life lesson for a movie some day. Hollywood will reduce hiim to an hour and a half cautionary tale.
The “Today Show” is a waste of time. I don’t know why but they seem to be trying to get the “values voters” and they are trying so hard that they have alienated their moderate to liberal audience. At 7:10 a.m., I don’t want to have to listen to Laura Ingram or Bill O’Really or any of the other whack jobs. I have given up on NBC–the only program I watch on that network is “ER.” The hell with them.
I have really gotten into Washington Journal on C-Span and I find that to be a good barometer of what people are thinking. Is anybody else tired of Imus? These shows (Today and Imus) just seem like the “same old same old”.
As for Limpballs, I think that there is a very special place in hell for him and for his pal Hannity.
Southwest Bob,
I hope the best for you. Nobody wants to hear those words. I had early stage cancer three years ago. I have been cancer free for three years.
People who have hand no health problems don’t know how stupid they sound then they make comments like Matt Lauer made. Matt, just try living for a week with a diagnosis. That should wipe the smug little smile right off your face.
BTW, I think he’s just excluded himself from most of the celeb interviews.
I didn’t realize before that Lauer was a cretin, a card carrying member of the cult of republicanism. Now I know. I suspected it the way he handled her/his vileness coulter. but now its confirmed.
.
I used to be a Republican. Not the mendacious and corrupt kind pretending “leadership” in today’s Congress, but from the DDE era (note, not Reagan’s). Anymore, they seem to excel at being the worst in America, a kind of Jerry Springer Show mentality has seized these misfits, they along with their spin-offs like Rush Limbaugh who exhibit bigotry in the name of “opinion”, and wallow in a muck of bias, prejudice, and outright slander. What a pathetic party they’ve devolved into. I don’t need this brand of discourse, at least not from these foul mouths. And not a few other Republicans have joined me in holding our noses to the rising stench.
I’m glad to hear that. In light of all of the madness going on, it’s refreshing, and gives me hope. I have a few friends that are coming our way too. It’s hard not to.
I will sleep better having read your post. Thank you for being bold enough to say so.
I’m really sorry to hear that. I hope you can get some additional help as trueblue has so kindly offered. We’re pulling for you.
I don’t have a personal stake in the stem cell issue. Yet. But, I’ve got a vivid imagination. I can get a pretty good idea of how difficult life can be for MJF and many others like him. And I’m not content to wait until it does come near me before I start to get concerned about it. As someone else had said earlier, what that commercial should have had most people thinking was “There but for the grace of [deity or good fortune]…”
At a dinner party, this guys wife wispered to us not to discuss politics. She said her husband had been a devoted life time republican, that ended with Bush and he suffered so much from the distructions of his party that he is now seeing a psychiatrist.
Yes there are many republicans that scrapped off the Bush/Cheney bumper sickers in the middle of the night in shame.
Under the current state of affairs, Rush and Matt should be registered as supporters of the Democratic movement. If they had not raised the issue, it would have been but a ripple in the current campaign, now it is a tsunami.
Matt Lauer, you’re dead to me… I wonder if Muhammed Ali could punch Limbaugh repeatedly in the head to raise money for research… vote these assclowns out of society… who wants to date a bunch of psychopaths forever… that’s so 20th century… die already you conservative scum, we don’t want to live in your feudal society.
1) embryos are being thrown in the trash at in vitro fertilization clinics… the eggs will be extracted and die irregardless of federal stem cell funding.
2) Multinational Drug companies receive Stem Cell Funding for research in other countries.
3) Private Stem Cell Funding is not outlawed.
4) Federal Public Stem Cell Funding, which passed both Congress and Senate, was the only bill ever vetoed by George W. Bush
5) Universities, Start-Ups and Small business are left out in the cold.
6) Religious Conservatives only get lip service, because the eggs die anyway
7) lose lose for the majority… win win for the minority…
mjf, appeared on the cbs evening news with couric in a special interview. fox did fire back at those criticizing him. and would like to also note that he said the reason why he rocked from side to side is because of having to much meds. but the meds cause tremors and jerking which is dyskenia.
i would also like to note that couric did do a good job. she is partial to this because with her dads permission aired that her father suffers from parkinsons.
Huh, he’s right. Like all that time i was thinking that Lauer is a tool and is bitter about being surpassed by his moderatley more talented talking-skull co-host.
A good response to this version of the “some say” device:
“I don’t know Matt, did you think that when you watched me? Did you think I was exaggerating the effects of my disease? Do you think my advocacy for biomedical research is shameless?”
I haven’t been watching Little Miss Katie because I haven’t had the stomach for it. Just watched the video of her interview with MJF. I said it in another thread, and watching him confirmed it. MJF has more class than all of those media whores combined.
I keep telling you that the mainstream media is against the progs and for the Clinton wing of the Dem party, which is why Lamont and Webb are going to lose by wide margins, while Clintonistas stay competitive.
I am looking forward to my visit here the day after the election.
I sure as hell didn’t think he was acting and sure as hell don’t think like Rush Limbaugh.
My wife goes bonkers over people like Rush who say outlandish things and I must repeat that these outlandish acts are how they develop an audience and keep that audience. Rush is an actor, one that is good at doing bad things.
Moreover, Dems seemed a lot more motivated in 2002 and 2004 than they do this year. Both times, you were going to “get even” or “correct the mistake” made in 2000. Nowadays, you don’t seem to be believing your own hype, and you don’t seem nearly so confident.
I believe that you sense your efforts have only helped reinforce the existing power structure, and hurt your own cause, and that your votes are more daggers into your own movement, yet your are marching methodically towards this fate. I would love to see your faces as you enter those voting booths, know that you are helping Schumer and Emanuel, and not yourselves.
Lauer is an excellent example of how the mainstream media has been co-opted by the right. MSM folks have bought into this idea that what they say, no matter how nasty, is legitimate. So, Matt Lauer, because “a lot of people” are incensed by the idea of a black man with a white woman, does that make the racist anti-Ford ads in Tennessee OK?
I have always considered Lauer less than a deep thinker, but this air-brained comment is downright ridiculous. I doubt I will ever watch “Today” again.
NO, not by the right, but by power hungry, two-faced liars, willing to say anything for a vote to gain power, only to do what the right would have done anyway - that is much worse.
Of Course Matt Lauer feel that way, he’s nothing more than a Bush RepublicanWhore, Most normal people think it’s discussing, but not Matt, Who Know Matt may be looking for little boys or him judgment may be blurred because he’s a drunk like the Bush Twins.
NO
October 26th, 2006 at 5:00 pmLimbaugh merely said what Limbaugh’s listeners might have been thinking… if they’re capable of thinking, that is.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:00 pmWTF???
October 26th, 2006 at 5:00 pmSo.. if a lot of people say something… does that make it true?
If 90% of the people believe in a dumb idea, it’s still a dumb idea.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:02 pmMaybe what evil, heartless bastards are thinking. I was thinking, “Dang, Michael’s condition really has gotten worse, poor guy.” At least he CHOSE to speak out, unlike the Republicans using poor Terri Shievo (sp?) for some misguided posturing.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:05 pmMatt, dahlink, pull out your hairplugs and give Katie another colonoscopy…with your tongue. I’m sure she misses you. These pricks make me want to puke.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:06 pm“when he testified before Congress, he decided to go off his medication”
Is that true? If it is, then why did he go off the medication? Was it so that the effects of his disease wouldn’t be suppressed? If so, then why is it so shocking that someone would accuse him of doing it again?
October 26th, 2006 at 5:07 pmYes. Rush is the openly racist and insensitive prick that a lot of listeners wish they could be. They like him because he “tells it how it is”.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:07 pmNO
October 26th, 2006 at 5:09 pmActually,
Micheal J. Fox admitted that he took to much of his meds and that is what caused him to act like that. Either way, he at least admitted that it was a stunt and he took to much of his meds to make it look worse for the camera. I say, good for him for admitting it.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:11 pmThese idiots don’t know shit.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:11 pmCan someone please tell me why on earth Limbaugh is against stem cell research? Surely it can’t be his religion.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:14 pmI guess Mr. Lauer was not aware of the effect of that ad. See the “Fox Effect” post further down the TP front page. Guess what Matt and Rush, for the majority of Americans, that ad was very effective. I would take that to mean that most Americans were not thinking what Rush was saying.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:15 pmYes, a lot of people are privately thinking Rump Limpdick is an insensitive, lying sac-o-pooh.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:15 pmHi Mikey:
I don’t think Fox was off his medication either time. I think crooksandlairs.com has a video of his appearance before Congress and he wasn’t off his meds. I think he said he was waiting for them to kick in.
This link from this site proves Limbaugh doesn’t know what he’s talking about. http://thinkprogress.org/2006/10/24/rush-stem-cell/
But that’s not the point. Lauer is giving people the idea that it’s ok to attack someone who have a real disease. What’s next? Attacking people in wheel chairs for appearing on TV?
October 26th, 2006 at 5:17 pmwhere exactly did he say this Roger_roger
October 26th, 2006 at 5:17 pmNow imagine if Lauer were talking about Limbaughs comments about the HAROLD FORD “bimbo” ad……
real nice Matt real nice…say good bye to your Q rating buddy
October 26th, 2006 at 5:18 pmwow, the repubs are getting really good at diagnosing people across video.
Terri Schiavo first, now Michael J Fox.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:18 pmPay no attention to the trolls.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:20 pmMatt Lauer isn’t fit to carry Jon Stewart’s JOCK.
And how much has he spent trying to hide and hold-off his impending baldness?
Shut up, and go interview a poodle groomer, or review a new toaster, STUPID JERK.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:21 pmGood lord.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:22 pmRoger is, of course, confused.
Matt Lauer is a disgrace.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:22 pmdamn.
and no, i sure as hell wasn’t thinking that…than again, i actually KNOW someone who had PD, so i can ya know, speak from experience, which just isn’t impressive or as “magical” as teh “feelings”
what an asshole. ignorant, ignorant, ignorant. when will this end!???!!
are their any efforts to bring truth and accountability to the media? anything we can do besides changing the channels?
these people make me physically ill…compassion my ass. it is unbelievable. disgusting. fire matt lauer. fire rush limbaugh.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:23 pmMicheal J. Fox admitted that he took to much of his meds and that is what caused him to act like that.
Could we get a link to that assertion?
October 26th, 2006 at 5:24 pm#18, yeah remember how “Dr.” Frist diagnosed her? And then we found out he lied on his medical license application because he didn’t do enough practice or continuing education. One of my favorite Frist moments.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:24 pmAt what point in our “Democracy” (if you can call it that anymore) did it become a crime for a citizen to stand up and endorse a political candidate?
Fox has a terrible disease and it should be understandable to anyone that he would support candidates that support legislation to fund Stem Cell research that could offer a cure. It is his right to do so.
So what does it matter if he was on his medication or off it? No one is denying that he has Parkinson’s — a disease that given the current available treatment, WILL KILL HIM! So whether we see him twitching on camera or not, means nothing.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:26 pmWhen do the stupid comments about Michael J. Fox.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:27 pmMatt Lauer thinks that Michael J.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:28 pm#10 Roger_Roger
October 26th, 2006 at 5:28 pm#24 Don’t hold your breath as he would be pulling it from his ass. It does not exist. In that case you may want to hold your breath.
The retard Condumbs cannot even get their ignorant prejudice talking points right.
“He did not take his meds to make it appear worse”
The trmors are the result of advance use of meds.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:28 pmThis just shows is how pathetically hysterical republicraps are about losing power and how morally vacant they are these days. It also shows what a lowdown, dirty rat Matt lauer is. I see his face, I can’t get to the channel button too soon.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:29 pmMatt, how could you or Rimjob possibly know what people are thinking? Seriously. You’re talking out your ass.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:30 pm#26 Pat, it’s because Rush and all who get their marching orders from him can only think to attack the messenger when they can’t come up with a reasoned response to the message. Kind of like a kid on the playground saying “Oh yeah? Well YOU’RE STUPID!”
October 26th, 2006 at 5:30 pmWow - Matt Lauer actuall got it right for once. Nice job.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:30 pm#32 - I rest my case.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:31 pmMikey (and for all other incompetents out there),
First off, I have watched one of my Uncle’s die from Parkinson’s and am watching another Uncle die from it who is currently very near the end of his struggle.
Peace.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:33 pmMatt Lauer is REALLY losing his hair and is going bald
There I said it I know thats what we were all thinking
October 26th, 2006 at 5:33 pmdoes Rush have any medical expertise to make diagnoses?
i mean, expertise in anything but conning doctors into writing multiple med scripts?
October 26th, 2006 at 5:33 pmLauer is giving people the idea that it’s ok to attack someone who have a real disease.
Comment by tyler — October 26, 2006 @ 5:17 pm
It IS okay to attack someone who has a real disease. It’s okay to attack ANYONE, as long as they are guilty of what you’re attacking them for. In this case…. BZZT! Wrong. Try again.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:36 pmWhat if Michael J. Fox was in the early stages of Alzheimers? Would everyone be “thinking”, “Gee, I don’t think he’s forgotten enough yet.” ??? The neocons have to bash people with diseases in order to try and get a few votes??? WTF???
October 26th, 2006 at 5:36 pmWhen I was watching Limbaugh I thought what an ignorant racist bigot and a great overweight poster child for a heart attack. Surely he must acting or faking his over the top hatred for 70% of America.
Why does Lush RimJaubgh hate America and embrace Bigotry?
October 26th, 2006 at 5:38 pmGosh, this is certainly a much more CRITICAL national issue than say, corruption and lying in congress.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:38 pm…if Matt Lauer can’t be bothered to do even the most elementary research… - - Tom Cruise may have been right , eh?
October 26th, 2006 at 5:41 pmBonesTwo: “Wow - Matt Lauer actuall got it right for once. Nice job.”
BonesTwo don’t reed tu guud.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:41 pmW acts like a cowboy for votes from middle America, so what’s the problem door Matt and Limpdick?
October 26th, 2006 at 5:43 pmHumanist,
You are so on the mark.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:45 pmIt’s horrible.
Thanks
October 26th, 2006 at 5:46 pmI am privately thinking that Matt Lauer is a douchebag.
Publicly I am saying that Rush Limpbaugh is an obese pill junkie with a soft weenie and three divorces and a penchant for vacationing in nations that cater to under age sex tourists.
-GSD
October 26th, 2006 at 5:48 pmIm sure there are plenty of Americans who are quietly ignorant and racist. Its a well known American trait.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:49 pm#37, whoa, back off there Humanist. I’m sorry for your loss. But I was asking a question there in my post, not making a statement. The TP link has a transcript where Ingram made the statement that he went off his meds for congress. I was questioning whether that was true or not. I’m not bending anything, I’m just looking for the truth.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:50 pmWho knew Matt Lauer was such a Republican sell-out. Then again, he and Bush were getting pretty touchy-feely during Matt’s softball interview of the Oilman-in-Chief.
The farce known as America’s immigration debate
October 26th, 2006 at 5:53 pmMatt Lauer is apparently just as clueless as Rush. Probably even a big fan as well. It wouldn’t surprise me if he caught it live and thought it was funny. From his comment I would put anything past Lauer.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:54 pm#43 SouthwestBob
October 26th, 2006 at 5:54 pmSplit the hairs all you want, hairsplitters - equivocators, the fact is the man has the disease, stem cell research may someday lead the way to therapies for the disease, and he’s well within his rights to appear on tv to talk about it, however the hell he wants to.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:55 pmGo to:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032633/
Click on EMAIL and let Matt know what you think… I did and I have to tell you, I feel a lot better. Consider it theraputic.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:00 pmI’m privately thinking that Rush Limpballs and Matt Lauer are assholes. Let’s see if they pick up on that.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:00 pmcan you tell what I’m privately thinking about Matt Lauer?
October 26th, 2006 at 6:02 pmSorry, Southwest Bob,
I really like your contributions, but chimpeach is right:
MJF did hit a nerve.
You just don’t mess with “Alex P. Keaton”!
We’ve known him forever. He’s like the boy next door.
Remember when Mike Ditka yelled at Doug Flutie?
October 26th, 2006 at 6:08 pmHe was flooded with angry calls from people standing up for Flutie. He later recalled it as “Like yelling at Bambi.”
There are some people who just grab your heart. MJF is one.
“Didn’t Rush Limbaugh just say what a lot of people were privately thinking?â€
Funny thought, Mat ( or anyone who listens to Limburger) actually thinking…….
October 26th, 2006 at 6:13 pm#56
thanks cc, that did make me feel better.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:15 pmAh, yes, Matt Lauer.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:19 pmI think Ronald Reagan was faking Alzheimers, so Nancy had no right to ask for support of embryonic stem cell research. It’s what everyone is privately thinking.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:19 pmDamn liberal media at it again!
October 26th, 2006 at 6:19 pmWhen did reporting the news become like making a f@#king diary entry? I didn’t get that memo… Facts are facts, so these “personalities” need to get over themselves for the preservation of our Democracy.
Millions of true Americans have been and are willing to die for the First Amendment, but lying is not a form of true expression. Sorry.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:23 pmI hate myself so much that I want to make others miserable as well. Proud to be a Republican.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:24 pmmy email to the Today Show:
Just wanted to let you know how abhorent I found Matt Lauer’s comments regarding Michael J. Fox this morning:
“And you brought up Michael J.
And yes, I feel a whole lot better!
October 26th, 2006 at 6:26 pmThe reich winged nut job’s here and in media land use any and all means to slam every one not in their frame of thinking…….Terry Shrivo (sp) was a pawn to use for their own purpose. Now if they can they will critizise Michael J. Fox and may even reserect and chastize Christopher Reeves for his support on stem cell research…This bunch and their followers are evil and stupid, never mind the fact’s, every one is suposto think their way or the highway….Dumbasses all….
October 26th, 2006 at 6:26 pmOk,
Although the post was funny, using RR’s name really goes against the terms. I’d hate to have you banned.
Also, have you watched the commercial in the thread above this one?
October 26th, 2006 at 6:29 pmOMG.
(just don’t read the posts, OK? Honest. Nothing to see there.)
I sent one;
Dear Mr. Lauer:
How dare you speak for me? How dare you assume that the rest of the people are thinking like Rush Limbaugh. I expected better from you. I can say I will no longer be watching your show.
I think you owe Mr. Fox, and the people you spoke for an apology. And I think that it would serve you well to research the effects of medication regarding a disease before you make such blanket statements.
Thanks
SO I haven’t watched the show in a long time, but if they think they’re losing viewers, maybe they’ll listen.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:34 pmIn order to effect a heart or lung transplant, someone has to die. Stem cells can be harvested from still births, uterine and placental tissue as well as about-to-be discarded blast cysts. Where is the moral issue?
October 26th, 2006 at 6:39 pmJoe Six,
Remember when he made public his affliction?
I think the nation as a whole cried, “No!”
Now,….
October 26th, 2006 at 6:44 pmhe’s up for ridicule.
Just awful.
I’m not surprised to read above that Matt lauer can’t keep a wife. He’s obviously a dirty little rat. Man, would I like to meet him in a dark alley.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:50 pm71 - Walt - there is no moral issue, except for those whose weak understanding of science gives way to emotion when they are played for fools by demagogues; but heck, we’ve got that same thing happening in every area of policy-making right now, so it’s really just the same old shite.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:55 pmI’m with you blue……I would like to bitch slap all these reich winged wackos and media nut job’s into November 8th for their ignorance and mean spirited attitudes…..None are even worthy to kiss Michael’s feet much less get coverge….If I owned these station’s I would fire these people on the spot and do it while they were on the air…..Blessings.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:56 pmnice example lauer is setting for his kid(s)…
every parent has to tell their kid, at least once, “sweetie, you don’t say things like that out loud… we will talk about it at home, in private”
most of these repugs act worse than petulant little brats who did not have any guidance in their early years… and dumbya is at the head of that class… limpball might make it a tie… hard to say…
October 26th, 2006 at 6:56 pm.
Uterine should read umbilical in post 71.
October 26th, 2006 at 6:57 pmCons would rather have the debate on Micheal Fox, and no whether or not stem cells could provide a viable option in new theraphyies down the line for a whole host of human conditions. Again, this is a silly Ad Hominem.
Fox has Parkison either way. It’s not going away.
This Con-game, like drug laws and the death penately and bigotry against homosexuality, stems from a religous worldview. Which is, rightwing christian legalism and fundmentalism
October 26th, 2006 at 7:00 pmI wonder if Lauer meant that this is what ARLEN SPECTER was thinking?
Why is Republican Arlen Specter leaving Michael Fox out to dry and be smeared by wingnuts when Michael Fox’s first political ad on stem cell was made for SPECTER, a Republican?
Let’s all call Specter and ask if Fox was exaggerating and acting in the commercial Fox made for HIM.

I’m about to do that now.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:04 pmThanks.
:)
Remember when he made public his affliction?
I think the nation as a whole cried, “No!â€Now,….
October 26th, 2006 at 7:11 pmI wonder how Limpballs will attack Fox now after his appearance on CBS tonight.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:14 pmJoe,
Bambambama above addressed Specter.
Isn’t it funny (well, not really) how the Republicans change their tunes only when something affects them personally?
Talk about tragic.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:15 pm#54 & #59: Excellent points, thanks and I agree.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:17 pmMichael J Fox interviewed on CBS news. Fantastic.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:17 pmWe can also wonder who may really be the sponsor and choreographer of the current (mis)administrations opposition to stem cell research…. namely the pharmaceutical industry.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:21 pmIf there are found to be cures and treatments for any number of life-threatening or dibilitating diseases that don’t require DRUGS, who’s the big loser then?
(Good question for Mr. Rumpsfelt)
NO, Southwest Bob.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:21 pmNo.
Please contact other Dr’s.
Cancer Center of America.
Come to MA. We have great hospitals here.
I live here. I’d help.

You’ll be spammed out, but I’ll look for you.
Just type trueblue in the subject, and I’ll add you.
Matt Lauer has joined the morons of the world.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:22 pmAt one time people thought blacks were 3/5 of a white person; did that make it so?
At one time people thought segregation was OK; did that make it so?
It is the medication that causes those involuntary movements - if he was off his meds, he would be “frozen.”
These guys haven’t left the school playground - like bullies, making fun of the kid with disabilities.
Bush Limpwad may have voluntarily aquired a terminal affliction with his latest callous utterances.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:30 pmHis greatest appeal in America is to the Biff type bullies who listen to him because he is allowed, by virtue of free speech, to say things that the average citizen at home, work, or on the street would get divorced, fired, or arrested for saying.
October 26th, 2006 at 7:43 pmBy the way, is the disgraceful Matt Lauer what some would call the “liberal media?”
October 26th, 2006 at 7:55 pmOk, I’m kinda upset and bummed.
I’ll be back later.
SouthwestBob, I emailed you.

October 26th, 2006 at 7:57 pmWell, Matt. A lot of people right now are thinking you’re a coldhearted, arrogant s.o.b. Does that make it true?
October 26th, 2006 at 8:18 pmRepub Neocons run-a-round attacking anyone who disagrees or confronts them and shows how stupid their Blind Faith attitudes really are. So they run this away and that way screaming at who will ever listen how morally superior they are. And if they think some thing then the rest of the world better think the same way or their whole existence is in jeopardy.
October 26th, 2006 at 8:37 pmThey are afraid…
They are COWARDS!
His bravado reminds me of Bush with his “bring it on” ego-fluffer. I certainly think he will continue to court the outrageous until he meets his own Iraq, if not now… not long from now… it’s in his nature. He has such devious, underhanded methods and intention, it’s going to be a good life lesson for a movie some day. Hollywood will reduce hiim to an hour and a half cautionary tale.
October 26th, 2006 at 8:39 pmThe “Today Show” is a waste of time.
October 26th, 2006 at 8:57 pm#85 - I’m sorry Southwest Bob.
trueblue, you let me know if there’s anything I can do. My friend, the attorney who knows all the doctors, is back in town.
October 26th, 2006 at 8:57 pmFU Matt Lauer.
You should have more sense than that!
You’re dumber than your haircut!
October 26th, 2006 at 9:01 pmMatt Lauer’s so-called career…
***flush***
October 26th, 2006 at 9:18 pmLauer’s getting that sourpuss O’Reilly/Novak look asshole Republicans get as they age. It’s not going to be pretty.
October 26th, 2006 at 9:48 pmThank you Matt Lauer for reenforcing my dislike for morning news.
October 26th, 2006 at 9:50 pmSouthwest Bob,
I hope the best for you.
October 26th, 2006 at 9:59 pmIt sure seems that Limbaugh and Lauer are the ones not taking his medicatiion which is likely lithium.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:01 pmI think lauer is ‘faking’ being a human being..
October 26th, 2006 at 10:21 pmI will not respond to roger roger as ‘it’ is to stupid to respond to.
Michael J Fox makes a fool out of Limbaugh

October 26th, 2006 at 10:34 pm.
I didn’t realize before that Lauer was a cretin, a card carrying member of the cult of republicanism. Now I know. I suspected it the way he handled her/his vileness coulter. but now its confirmed.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:53 pm.
Alot of people are saying Matt Lauer is a Bush Bitch Media Whore…
October 26th, 2006 at 10:56 pmI used to be a Republican.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:06 pmAlot of people are saying Matt Lauer is a Bush Bitch Media Whore…
Comment by IdahoMoe
I’d agree with that assessment.
Just curious — are you coming out to the commenters on TP? Or are you from Idaho?
Heh.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:24 pm109, Dewi-
I’m glad to hear that. In light of all of the madness going on, it’s refreshing, and gives me hope. I have a few friends that are coming our way too. It’s hard not to.
I will sleep better having read your post. Thank you for being bold enough to say so.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:35 pm#85 SouthwestBob
I’m really sorry to hear that. I hope you can get some additional help as trueblue has so kindly offered. We’re pulling for you.
I don’t have a personal stake in the stem cell issue. Yet. But, I’ve got a vivid imagination. I can get a pretty good idea of how difficult life can be for MJF and many others like him. And I’m not content to wait until it does come near me before I start to get concerned about it. As someone else had said earlier, what that commercial should have had most people thinking was “There but for the grace of [deity or good fortune]…”
Keep us posted.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:50 pmMatt Lauer should be ashamed of himself.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:52 pmAll I can say is… The Man has no Shame!
October 26th, 2006 at 11:59 pmAt a dinner party, this guys wife wispered to us not to discuss politics. She said her husband had been a devoted life time republican, that ended with Bush and he suffered so much from the distructions of his party that he is now seeing a psychiatrist.
Yes there are many republicans that scrapped off the Bush/Cheney bumper sickers in the middle of the night in shame.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:59 pmMatt Lauer, what an ass.Who watches these idiots ?
October 27th, 2006 at 12:22 amUnder the current state of affairs, Rush and Matt should be registered as supporters of the Democratic movement. If they had not raised the issue, it would have been but a ripple in the current campaign, now it is a tsunami.
October 27th, 2006 at 12:25 amMatt Lauer, you’re dead to me… I wonder if Muhammed Ali could punch Limbaugh repeatedly in the head to raise money for research… vote these assclowns out of society… who wants to date a bunch of psychopaths forever… that’s so 20th century… die already you conservative scum, we don’t want to live in your feudal society.
October 27th, 2006 at 1:14 amMatt Lauer is a pig, just like Rush Limbaugh > shame on both of them!
October 27th, 2006 at 1:18 amoh, and by the way, lets unsmask the real debate…
November 7th the Majority will speak
October 27th, 2006 at 1:26 amBoth heh heh
October 27th, 2006 at 1:37 ammjf, appeared on the cbs evening news with couric in a special interview. fox did fire back at those criticizing him. and would like to also note that he said the reason why he rocked from side to side is because of having to much meds. but the meds cause tremors and jerking which is dyskenia.
i would also like to note that couric did do a good job. she is partial to this because with her dads permission aired that her father suffers from parkinsons.
October 27th, 2006 at 1:44 amand to matt lauer his mama needs to take an emergency flight to slapped the shit out of her son.
October 27th, 2006 at 1:46 amMatt. Matt, Matt, you don’t even… you’re glib.
October 27th, 2006 at 1:46 amBoth heh heh

Too funny.
October 27th, 2006 at 1:50 amMichael J. Fox has a whole lot of courage for acting so bravely in the face of such Repugnant terrorists.
October 27th, 2006 at 1:52 amdOES THAT make it ok lauer, have some fricken shame U azz kiss’n sycophant, my gawd, Hitler said alot of things people were thinking also.
October 27th, 2006 at 3:24 am.
FOX MAKES FOOL OUT OF LIMBAUGH:
http://www.crooksandliars.com/ 2006/ 10/ 26/ michael-j-fox-makes-a-fool-out-of-limbaugh/
Not that Limbaugh doesn’t do a fine job of that on his own…
but watch the video.
.
October 27th, 2006 at 6:51 amWhy are you guys always falling for this crap. Limbaugh has effectively derailed the public discourse away from dealing with the real issue.
The debate should be about the pros and cons of stem cell research. Not Limbaugh’s inane and predictable theatrics.
He’s effectively killed the real issue and all you morons fell for it… again.
October 27th, 2006 at 6:55 amAnother reason for rocking is so they don’t freeze up.
October 27th, 2006 at 7:31 amIt’s a technique taught them in PT.
Huh, he’s right. Like all that time i was thinking that Lauer is a tool and is bitter about being surpassed by his moderatley more talented talking-skull co-host.
October 27th, 2006 at 7:34 amA good response to this version of the “some say” device:
“I don’t know Matt, did you think that when you watched me? Did you think I was exaggerating the effects of my disease? Do you think my advocacy for biomedical research is shameless?”
October 27th, 2006 at 8:03 amI haven’t been watching Little Miss Katie because I haven’t had the stomach for it. Just watched the video of her interview with MJF. I said it in another thread, and watching him confirmed it. MJF has more class than all of those media whores combined.
October 27th, 2006 at 8:14 amI keep telling you that the mainstream media is against the progs and for the Clinton wing of the Dem party, which is why Lamont and Webb are going to lose by wide margins, while Clintonistas stay competitive.
I am looking forward to my visit here the day after the election.
October 27th, 2006 at 8:34 amI sure as hell didn’t think he was acting and sure as hell don’t think like Rush Limbaugh.
My wife goes bonkers over people like Rush who say outlandish things and I must repeat that these outlandish acts are how they develop an audience and keep that audience. Rush is an actor, one that is good at doing bad things.
October 27th, 2006 at 8:38 amMoreover, Dems seemed a lot more motivated in 2002 and 2004 than they do this year.
October 27th, 2006 at 8:47 amLauer is an excellent example of how the mainstream media has been co-opted by the right. MSM folks have bought into this idea that what they say, no matter how nasty, is legitimate. So, Matt Lauer, because “a lot of people” are incensed by the idea of a black man with a white woman, does that make the racist anti-Ford ads in Tennessee OK?
October 27th, 2006 at 9:09 amI have always considered Lauer less than a deep thinker, but this air-brained comment is downright ridiculous. I doubt I will ever watch “Today” again.
#137, Anais,
NO, not by the right, but by power hungry, two-faced liars, willing to say anything for a vote to gain power, only to do what the right would have done anyway - that is much worse.
October 27th, 2006 at 9:16 am#85 swbob
October 27th, 2006 at 9:41 amSorry to hear your sad news.
Of Course Matt Lauer feel that way, he’s nothing more than a Bush RepublicanWhore, Most normal people think it’s discussing, but not Matt, Who Know Matt may be looking for little boys or him judgment may be blurred because he’s a drunk like the Bush Twins.
October 27th, 2006 at 10:56 amGod bless MJF, a REALLY CLASSY guy.
