In an interview with North Dakota radio host Scott Hennen, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld said that “it would be logical” that terrorist groups are ramping up violence in Iraq and elsewhere to give liberals a boost in November’s election. Here’s how Hennen described the situation:
Here they are, getting up every day saying, “We’ve got an election in two weeks in America, gang, and we want to change horses over there because we don’t like the folks we’re having to deal with now; they’re a little tough on us. So let’s get out there and let’s make some noise.“
Hennen added, “I don’t get the sense the American people have a sense they’re being played in that fashion.” Rumsfeld agreed, telling Hennen, “Probably not. It’s hard. No one likes to think they’re being manipulated. They believe that they can make their own judgments and the like.”
Rumsfeld’s claims are baseless. President Bush admitted this weeked that there isn’t “any intelligence” that suggests terrorists are trying to influence U.S. elections.
Full transcript of the Rumsfeld interview HERE.
It’s scary that this equating the Democrats with terrorists thing still works.
It’s very frustrating =(

October 26th, 2006 at 9:54 amRumsfeld’s claims are baseless. President Bush admitted this weeked that there isn’t “any intelligence†that suggests terrorists are trying to influence U.S. elections.
That’s what happens when you have an administration where everyone invents their own version of reality.
October 26th, 2006 at 9:54 amIf Rumsfeld actually knew what the terrorists were thinking, then they wouldn’t be kicking his ass in Afghanistan.
Besides, experts all of the place have confirmed that Osama prefers Bush. The only reason he’s not endorsing Bush, and Rummy has to do it for him, is because he’s probably too sick (or too dead) to go “Boo!” this October.
October 26th, 2006 at 9:55 amYou’re right, Rummy: “no one likes to think they’re being manipulated”. That’s why so many of us are angry at you, Bush, and the rest of the thugs and bullies running America today.
October 26th, 2006 at 9:56 amSo if Rummy has been a clueless F**K about EVERYTHING ELSE, what makes him think anyone is going to believe this latest psychotic B*LLSH*T?
October 26th, 2006 at 9:59 amHennen added, “I don’t get the sense the American people have a sense they’re being played in that fashion.†Rumsfeld agreed, telling Hennen, “Probably not. It’s hard. No one likes to think they’re being manipulated. They believe that they can make their own judgments and the like.â€
My next question would have been: “Do you think people might think you are trying to manipulate them right now on who to vote for by using terrorism as a fear tactic?”
October 26th, 2006 at 10:02 amAAAAAgggghhh ! The increase in casulties is due to increased operations trying to secure Baghdad. The military (and Rumsfeld) initiated this. To do this so close to an election indicates desperation. If they don’t control the violence now, baghdad and by extension Iraq could be lost. In fact they probably delayed this operation too long for political purposes. This administration has NO scruples, they will allow addition soldiers and civilians to die for “political purposes”.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:04 amNot only is it baseless, one could make the argument that the terrorists are getting up every day saying “There’s an election in two weeks in America gang and we’ve got to do everything we can to keep the same group in power. They are the reason we keep getting more money and more recruits. I mean they haven’t touched the poppy fields in Afghanistan and that’s the #1 source of income. And the way this president talks tough but doesn’t do much we’d be fools to want somebody who wants to change course.
Terrorists aren’t trying to influence our elections, they are trying to influence their govt’s. Thanks to the incomplete battle plan in Afghanistan we now have our own Bill Frist saying that the Taliban should be part of the govt. Give the same people who are directly responsible for allowing Al Qiada to thrive a say in the govt. of Afghanistan.
Yeah that’s making sure “The Job is done” (slogan#113 in a series of 546 collect em all!!!)
October 26th, 2006 at 10:04 amRumsfeld’s portrayal of the terrorists would have been more convincing if he didn’t make them sound like Hoss and the gang at Ponderosa.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:06 amA delusional madman destroying the US armed forces.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:07 amRumsfeld is an al Qaeda spokesman?
Why am I not surprised.
Meanwhile, the CIA concluded two years ago that bin Laden’s last tape before the election was to help Bush. Putin did the same thing.
Our enemies like having a hapless bitch like Bush in charge.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:07 am.
…terrorist groups are ramping up violence in Iraq and elsewhere to give liberals a boost…
What these two cold blooded lizards are denying is that the ramp up in violence was in the works and began even before the first “Welcome Liberators” rose petals had begun to wither.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:08 amI wonder if Rummy has to be accompanied by bodyguards while moving around inside the Pentagon.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:09 amThis is total bullshit. I’ve had it. It should be so obvious now to everyone what is being done to Americans by this bunch of thugs. Manipulation my ass. It’s time to manipulate these criminals out of Washington.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:09 amSo apparently these folks want to convince us that we should base our vote on what (they say) the terrorists think rather than what we think? How do they know what “terrorists” think – interviews? And while they are busy interviewing them, why don’t they just go ahead and kill them?
Are people really this stupid? It’s just so sad.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:09 amterrorists don’t follow US elections… they don’t have a clue… they’re too busy coming up with more insane things to do…
October 26th, 2006 at 10:09 amPrisoners of their own cut and run lingo.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:09 amAll the religious extremists of this world do NOT want liberals/democrats/progressives etc. getting into power because seperation of church and state is considered an absolute MUST in a civilized society. That is why these groups are hated by the American Christian Taliban and the Muslim Taliban alike. If the religious extremists are trying to manipulate this election they are going to get a rude awakening when they hear what the leftists think is the answer to this terrorism problem is….
October 26th, 2006 at 10:12 amhigh irony: iraq is HALTING moves toward democracy in syria… oh, man… if THIS ain’t a nail in the bushco coffin, i don’t know what is…
this story should be front-paged across the u.s., not buried on page A18 of the wapo…
p.s. condi… george… bite me…
And, yes, I DO take it personally
October 26th, 2006 at 10:14 amPrisoners of their own cut and run lingo.
Comment by Think+Half+Ass+Progress
You are so right that this administration is a prisoner of their own warped lingo. That’s all they know how to do. They sure can’t run this country’s economy, they can’t win one war with the greatest army in the world, they can’t rebuild a country after they occupy that country, they can only throw out catch phrases to make themselves sound good. Prisoners, yes they are. I agree.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:14 amRumsfeld, you fool. Blaming Republicans and electing Democrats didn’t get us out of Vietnam, and it won’t get us out of Iraq – your colossal mishandling of Iraq can’t be fixed with just one election.
You entirely mistake what this election is about. We’re not trying to get out of Iraq right away, we have more pressing business – we’re getting rid of the idiots who got us into it in the first place.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:18 amMore of the same ol crap…The smear and fear gang of war monger’s are out in force…..His nick name fit’s, rummy……When we get these mad men out we need some younger progressive mind’s at work….All these old men are like mindless parasites sucking the life out of our country…….Blessings All
October 26th, 2006 at 10:19 amMR RIMSFELD
YOU IDIOT.
THE INSURGENCY WANT YOU TO STAY IN YOUR POSITION YOU LAME BRAIN, THEY WANT BUSH TO STAY WHERE HE IS AND THEY WANT THE US ARMY RIGHT WHERE THEY ARE….
YOU KNOW THIS YOU INCOMPETANT IDIOT – THIS WHOLE THING IS YOURS AND CHENEYS FAULT….
THE INSURGENCY WANT TO FIGHT YOU….THEY KNOW THE US MILITARY AHS ONE HAND TIED BEHIND ITS BACK WITH THE LIKES OF YOU INCHARGE – RETARD!!!!!!
October 26th, 2006 at 10:19 amI saw a bumber sticker today that says “Who would Bin Laden Vote For?”
Of course, next to that one is a Bush/Cheney ‘04 sticker. I can’t help but think that Bin Laden would love to have Republicans in power, only they can give Bin Laden and Jihadists every thing they ever dreamed of.
These current thugs have justified every remark Jihadists have ever said concerning a holy war between Christianity and Islam.
oh the irony.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:19 amIt’s not a fluke that they all present a different version of reality. It’s not uncommon for them to deny the reality they presented as fact 6 months ago.
It’s their strategy of Fear, Confusion, Doubt and Uncertainty to keep the voters away from the issues that they are losing on.
Ashcroft just went on The Daily Show and essentially said its ok that the administration does not tell the truth about Iraq because it’s all being presented in the media. “There is no shortage of bad news out there”. Then another Administration will come out and say that you cant trust the news because they are all biased.
So who can you trust? W. because he is a stand up guy.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:20 amWhy? Because if you say he’s not then your a terrorist.
If the religious extremists are trying to manipulate this election they are going to get a rude awakening when they hear what the leftists think is the answer to this terrorism problem is….
Comment by ggibson — October 26, 2006 @ 10:12 am
Well said…
We stand for the lack of religion in government. Why would religious freaks condone that?
As usual, the right is incoherent and illogical.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:20 amoh the irony.
Comment by kelso — October 26, 2006 @ 10:19 am
There’s a strip shopping center in my town, where the road signage says GUNS in big bold letters, and then right below it “Church of Christ”.
Further down the street a huge billboard asks “Divorcing?” while the one below it welcomes you to their church.
Hypocrisy is the Religious Right’s middle name.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:24 amBush has done everything the terrorist wanted. Why would they want a change in leadership?
October 26th, 2006 at 10:28 amHonestly, Rumsfeld is freaking insane, so who cares what he says? Apart from the mouth-breathers on the Right I mean.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:29 amKelso,
October 26th, 2006 at 10:32 amRight on. I bet Osama has donated plenty to the GOP. Bin Laden WANTED our outright involvement in the middle east, instead of hiding behind Isreal, and that’s EXACTLY WHAT THE REPUBLICANS GAVE HIM.
Rummy, you’ve done more to aid the terrorists than ANYONE.
Lying ASSHOLE.
So instead of “change the course” the republican mantra will be “change the horse.” Very clever. NOT!
October 26th, 2006 at 10:33 amThe American public has been manipulated by this administration for 5 years. It seems only common sense that Republicans think others are doing the same thing. What I find amazing is that Rumsfeld finally said something that makes sense (it’s wrong, but makes sense). After all, with only 2-3 hours of electricity a day when do the bad guys find time to manipulate the media? Also, most media never leave the Green Zone without escorts (targets you know) so even regular Iraqis don’t talk to the media let alone evil doers.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:34 amScott Hennan is big fat tub of lard with a mouth twice the size of his brain.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:35 amI live in his listening area, & tune in drving home for a quick laugh.
He’s as whacked as Rush.
Once he was interviewing Gov. Pawlenty from MN. He came back from a
break & told everyone he was talking with the Gov. of North Dakota.
Even named him. Finally, Pawlenty had to remind him who he was talking to.
I think Scott got a hold of some of Rush’s Oxycontin on ‘Radio Row’ at the White House earlier this week. Maybe he gave some to Dumsfeld.
Why do Republicans hate Jesus?
Dumbs-feld would not know honor if it bit him in the face.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:36 amThe terrorists would rather have the Republicans win; never has the recruiting been so good for them and so bad for our armed forces.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:39 amLoad of rot, everyone know that you don’t change horsemen (Cheney, Bush, Rumsfeld and Rice) in the middle of an apocalypse.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:40 amYou don’t believe the terrorists want a new government in the USA? You don’t need intelligence for that, it is obvious. Would you want a crazy Bush type president that tortures and kills you for looking at him the wrong way or would you want a Ghandi type Democrat that gives you a flower for every American death you cause?
The choice is simple.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:42 amHow rediculous. We know Rumsfeld is lying again. Bush and his policies are the best recruiting tools for terrorists. Terrorism and Bush ago together like tea and honey.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:46 amYou’re right Donald! No one likes to think they’re being manipulated! I know *I* don’t! So could you please tell me what to think so’s I can’t be manipulated anymore? Thanks! You’re a friggin’ PEACH!
October 26th, 2006 at 10:46 amTranslation of Post #37:
Durr durr durr duuuh huffing gasoline is fun! Bush gud! Daaaah
October 26th, 2006 at 10:48 amRoger_Roger,
October 26th, 2006 at 10:50 amyou can’t even set up your own strawman without sounding like a class A imbecile.
This has got to be a namejacker, right? Right?
I agree with Gene at 35.
Do Cheney’s and Rumsfeld’s remarks somehow set us up so that the Cheney Administration can call off the elections on November 7th?
(It does seem that Cheney and Rumsfeld read from a different playbook than Bush.)
October 26th, 2006 at 10:52 amRogerx2 – here’s your smackdown, the choice isn’t simple, you are:
http://consortiumnews.com/2006/081106.html
October 26th, 2006 at 10:53 amIf they know what the terrorists are thinking and planning, then they must be in cahoots with them.
Hey Dick, it’s AlQeada calling.
October 26th, 2006 at 10:55 amAnd by the way, Exxon just reported it’s 2nd most profitable quarter in its history. “The war is very affective, if you will” as Darth Cheney says.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:00 am#37 roger roger
yeah, you know… thats one way of looking at it… the wrong way. Anything else I say to support that would be ignored, so I take solace in the fact you’re probably far closer to death than I am, agewise.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:03 amit seems the terrorists are smarter than the repub voters.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:03 amI’m confused. Who determines policy in America, American citizens or the ‘Terrorists’?
Since when does the Bush Admistration take its marching orders from Al-Qaeda?
Perhaps it has always been the opposite. …just a thought.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:04 amRoger squared, the decision is simple. Remove the liars and cheats and perverts from our govt. Even a simpleton would agree to that.
Wouldn’t you?
October 26th, 2006 at 11:05 ambut, but, it’s true:
“…No one likes to think they’re being manipulated. They believe that they can make their own judgments and the like.â€
hence, the denial exhibited by all the righties…
October 26th, 2006 at 11:05 am.
I have a confession. I get paid to post these outrageous comments. And my real name is Hilda.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:07 am#47 pete,
I think you are on to something… terrorists being smarter than the Republican voters. At least that’s what Rummy thinks.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:08 amRoger Roger,
You are dumb as dirt.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:09 amRumsfeld is an incompetent and criminal imbicile! Rummy needs to lay off the booze and be tried for war crimes!
October 26th, 2006 at 11:12 amI didn’t know they could vote in our elections? maybe the repigs have added them to the voter roll as they have removed most of the americans that haven’t had an R next to their name
October 26th, 2006 at 11:12 amActually, the terrorists would prefer to keep the current Republicans in control. Just this week the Homeland Security Report Card showed that under the leadership of the Republicans we have pretty much failed on every front to protect the United States. On the other hand, Rummy has a good point — unfortunately it’s based on lies he pulled out of thin air.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:12 amSo, I have been told by Donald Rumsfeld that voting for my party’s candidates is a “vote for the terrorists”, eh? It seems like any attempt to disagree with these folks gets you labeled as a terrorist enabler. A vote for tighty whities is a vote for the terrorists.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:13 amAnd, just recently, Congress empowered Bush to disappear anyone who supports the terrorists, directly or indirectly.
I think it’s clear where this is going.
Terrorists never had it so good as far as recruiting new members under this administration. It is in their best interest to see to it that the GOP remains in power to continue to lose the war with their misguided strategies.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:15 amYou know, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Al-Queda is hoping for a regime change. If we do have one, you can bet we will pull out and then the terrorists can consolidate their hold on Iraq.
The thing the republicans (and everyone else it seem) fail to recognize is that the terrorists have already won. They HAVE Iraq now. Bush gave it to them by invading. Hussein, dispite all his “I’m a super-duper dictator and I can step on my people if I want to” rhetoric KEPT AL-QUEDA OUT OF IRAQ. If Iraq was about freeing the people from Husseins government, we succeeded very spectacularly. If it was about fighting terrorism, we took a GIANT step backwards.
So of course Al-Queda wants an end to the fighting so they can clean up. They’ll get it unless we bring something new to the situation. Bush doesn’t seem to want to do anything new, and the democrats want to pull out. In either case, we lose, but if the democrats get majority, we save American lives (and probably innocent Iraqi’s) in the process. I know which I’d rather have. How about the rest of you?
October 26th, 2006 at 11:16 amI understand the desperation to succeed in Iraq. No one in the administration can countenance the possibility that it has all been for nothing. That we have squandered thousands of lives and untold treasury only to fail. I can almost sympathize with their predicament. It’s time to relieve their suffering at the polls. The president likes to think he is like Lincoln, but even Lincoln said that we will prevail on when we find someone who can face the arithmetic of the war. In this case that arithmetic is that no amount of expenditure in blood and treasure will avail us in this conflict. The people of Iraq either have the will to prevent the further effusion of blood within its borders or it doesn’t. We created the power vacuum but we cannot and should not fill it. One of the main neoconservative arguments is that we have promoted stability instead of freedom. Well then let’s quit trying to force a new stabilization and let the people of Iraq come to grips with their choices themselves. We can still help by insuring that the invevitable period of violence and chaos doesn’t engulf the rest of the region. But as for Iraq, it is time to go.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:18 amHomeland Secuirty was built by Republicans. The Democrats like Clinton had no report to judge them. They simply ignored the terrorists as they killed Americans. At least this president is trying, even though he is failing. I would rather see some effort instead of the Clinton model which didn’t do anything even though the terrorists killed many Americans while he was in power.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:35 amI guess I must’ve stunk the place up pretty good. Where’d everybody go?
October 26th, 2006 at 11:37 amYeah Rummy. What about the old manipulating comment a number a years ago from this chump:
“As we know, there are known knowns. And there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns. That is to say we know there are some things we do not know, but there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don’t know we don’t know.”
This should be used now by Rummy now and see what kind of response it would get for this election. What we do know now is that these clowns are full of shit and Rummy just drools shit.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:39 amThe GOP and their terrorist allies in Al Qaeda want to maintain the status quo.
GOP rules by fear, which, by definition, makes them terrorists, just like bin Laden.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:40 amThe people who find Rumsfield credible are not going to be voting for Democrats.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:40 amThese people, whose heroes are Bush, Rush, Hannity, O’Reilly etc., are hopelessly gullible.
So “Do something even if it’s something stupid” eh? Also your comparison of the presidencies of Bush and Clinton is somewhat eccentric. I’m being generous.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:40 amWhy would Rumsfeld think that terrorists are afraid of either him or George Bush, neither of them have really made any progress in preventing terrorism. However, they have been very effective at promoting terrorism.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:44 amLet me get this straight. We’re supposed to believe that terrorists use violence to try to get Democratic candidates in office. OTOH, every time violence in Iraq cranks up a notch, everyone supposedly in the know, all of the 24/7 talking heads, claim that it’s a political boost for the goopers. These two things seem mutually exclusive to me. Talk about having your cake and eating it, too. No matter what happens, the CW is that it helps the GOP.
Next thing you know, they are going to start claiming, with no noticable dissent from the media, that drastically reducing tax rates on the rich will result in increased tax revenue. Oh wait…
October 26th, 2006 at 11:46 amHomeland Secuirty was built by Republicans
Chimpy was against Homeland Security before he was for Homeland Security, Chimpy was against the 9-11 Commission, before..well he was never for the 9-11 Commission or he would have testified under oath.
They simply ignored the terrorists as they killed Americans
1993 WTC bombing – the police caught nearly all of them and Clinton’s justice department put them away where they are today. Add to that Tim McVeigh.
At least this president is trying, even though he is failing.
USS Cole? Anthrax attacker? OBL still flipping the bird 5 years later despite the availability of the entire US armed services to go get him.
Roger…seek help. When you lie to yourself, it’s nearly the end.
October 26th, 2006 at 11:47 amJudd, do you know if the event (for lack of a better word) where this was aired from was the one that took place on the White House lawn? Apparently a tent and equipment was set up for right-wing radio stations, and a whole bunch of administration officials basically went from mike to mike giving interviews to ‘get out their message.’ ON THE WHITE HOUSE LAWN? Is this not against the law? Anyone?
October 26th, 2006 at 12:00 pmAn easier solution for Al’Qaeda would probably be to post a video endorsing President Bush, they’ve got plenty of reasons to keep him around. Of course, that’s precisely why they wouldn’t do it.
October 26th, 2006 at 12:02 pmOnly two possibilities arise as a result of Mr. Rumsfeld’s statement:
1: He is delusional.
October 26th, 2006 at 12:02 pm2: He is lying.
JaneESchneider, I don’t think so. It’s not just rightwing radio stations either. NPR was there. What? What did I say? Seriously, what?
October 26th, 2006 at 12:11 pmI’m afraid to even turn my lyingbastardometer on when he’s spouting this crap.
October 26th, 2006 at 12:13 pmThe Army of Ansar Al Sunnah Executes 3 Mahdi Army Members
October 26th, 2006 at 12:14 pmOn an Islamic Militant website, frequented by terrorists the Army of Ansar Al Sunnah released a video showing three members of the Mahdi Army in Iraq being executed by gunfire in Western Baghdad. The video which is part of a 55 minute documentary released by the group called The Sword that cuts the Artieries of the Kuffars shows the group interogating the Madhi Amry members. The members then confess to being part of the Mahdi army and then say that the secretarian violence in Iraq is in part caused by them and that they themselves had orders from the Iraqi Government to promote secretarian violence in Iraq. The rest of the documentary discusses how to destroy an entire convoy in iraq by attack fuel trucks with Improvised Explosive Devices and sniper fire.
Tritone, did you see that piece the other day, I think it was on 360 w/AC, but AC wasn’t there. After the taped piece, the substitute spoke w/Glenn Beck. What was that ‘event’ for? I saw Chertoff and some other bigwigs.
October 26th, 2006 at 12:24 pmThe most unbelievable part of this argument is that Bin Laden prefers Bush in the White House. Bin Laden wants a world war of Muslims vs. Christians and he also couldn’t have asked for anything better than the Iraq War – it’s how he derives power. Here’s a campaign commercial – “Bush will give us Americans a worldwide religious nuclear war that nobody will ever win – vote for him because he says God told him it was right”
October 26th, 2006 at 12:43 pmDemocrats up 11% and climbing I hope…….
The beginning of regime change?????
Bring it! Bring it! Bring it!
October 26th, 2006 at 12:47 pmHennen added, “I don’t get the sense the American people have a sense they’re being played in that fashion.†Rumsfeld agreed, telling Hennen, “Probably not. It’s hard. No one likes to think they’re being manipulated. They believe that they can make their own judgments and the like.â€
Hummm? Now who is doing the manipulating? This statement confirms the neoconsverative view, or at least Rummy’s view or insinuation anyway, that the American public shouldn’t be allowed or trusted to make their judgements. This is a prime example of the right-wing conservative authoritarian beliefs that John Dean talks about in his book ‘Conservatives Without Conscious’. Scary stuff indeed! The main researcher that Dean quotes throughout his book, Prof. Robert Altemeyer (Univ. of Manitoba) is getting ready, according to Dean in a recent FindLaw article, to release a book, ‘The Authoritarians’, that will lay out the research in laymans terms for all to ponder. Dean’s book is remarkable…you will literally read excerpts with your jaw dropping! A must read over the next week!
October 26th, 2006 at 12:51 pmJaneESchneider at 71
It would have been illegal in the Clinton years, no question.
Remember how bent out of shape they got over Clinton’s Xmas card list?
October 26th, 2006 at 12:52 pmRumsfeld is a coward, so he relies on the coward’s only “weapon” – which is fear.
The truth is, al Qaeda and the rest don’t see any distinction between Demcrats and Republicans. The true believers hate us all. That’s what keeps them in power – having an enemy to demonize.
Funny, that seems to be what keeps Republicans in power these days, too …
October 26th, 2006 at 12:58 pmJane, I didn’t see that. Ming the Merciless was there eh?
October 26th, 2006 at 1:01 pma Ghandi type Democrat that gives you a flower for every American death you cause
I told Rush not to let his bitch out in public. It’s just plain embarassing, ranting and whining like that.
October 26th, 2006 at 1:04 pm.
Watching Rum on MSNBC, could have taped it years ago,,,,same ol’ crap!
October 26th, 2006 at 1:30 pmYou know what? There is no intelligence, period. I’m so sick of this rhetorical game-playing, manipulative crap.
October 26th, 2006 at 1:45 pmGod you people are idiots. What he said is completely logical. Do you think your enemy would want to keep determined, strong willed people who oppose them in office or do you think they would like someone who says lets get the hell out of there in office?
Try and look past your unwavering hatred of this administration and find a couple of brain cells to string together.
October 26th, 2006 at 1:50 pmRummy should know what they want, he’s the only one in the
administration who is on video shaking hands with Saddam.
I’m sure he has the Bat Phone and gets daily briefings.

October 26th, 2006 at 2:16 pmtry and look past your blind, unwavering love for this administration neo-’mike’, maybe wade through your struggle with xenophobia to find a couple non-paranoid, secular thoughts to string together,
October 26th, 2006 at 2:23 pmand realize whatever your politricks, the dominant political force of today has led us astray,
oh yeah buddy, i’m sure all the two-bit terrorist hacks in greater-baghdad have their fingers on the pulse inside the beltway….
i mean jeez….
#88, I think they would want the administration or similar others in power who continue to fight a losing battle thereby creating and sustaining an active cause for the terrorists. It also makes it easier for the terrorists to recruit more allies. If the Dem’s came into power, and if they left Iraq, there’d be no local enemy.
October 26th, 2006 at 2:25 pmRummy and Rice seem to be in denial that terrorists attack invading troops because they wish to have their country back.
October 26th, 2006 at 2:30 pmThese guys consider everyone who doesn’t agree with them, or their disastrous courses of action, a terrorist.
There seems to be extremists out there looking for any excuse to cause violence and then there are those that are just PISSED OFF because their country is a mess and it’s occupied by a foreign power that doesn’t even understand their language (let alone their culture).
I hope the Democrats can figure out a way to distinguish between the various factions so they can address them all effectively.
October 26th, 2006 at 2:32 pmIf anyone thinks that “the terrorists” don’t want the gop to stay in control, they’re retarded. If they further think that “the terrorists” think that democrats in office would make their terrorizing job easier, then they are really, really retarded, and shouldn’t be allowed to vote, because their fear has turned them into something other than a responsible citizen of the US.
October 26th, 2006 at 2:43 pmWow, Mike, you’re an idiot. What he said was completely illogical. You can’t tell the difference between political hackery and honest leadership. Don’t you think the enemy would prefer to fight against the existing, known, losing strategy they face today? Don’t you think they know that our government is complete mess? Do you really think that Democratic leadership, most of whom are decorated war heros, don’t know how to handle a war, or the ending of a war? Is that your problem, little guy, worried the war is going to end before you’re old enough to join up?
October 26th, 2006 at 2:46 pmTry and look past your unwavering love of BushCo and find a couple of brain cells to string together.
First of all, why wouldn’t they want the Dems in power? Do you really think they want the party that is hard on terror controlling the most powerful military in the known universe!??
Also, it’s pretty well known that the photo of Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam is a photoshop forgery. Not that it’s relevant to this topic.
Also, there is a lot of chatter in the terror networks about how Al Qaeda has started producing fake voter booths which they plan to deploy in heavily republican cities. Once the republican votes are cast they will fly back to Iraq witht he names and social security numbers of all the voting republicans. Not only will they have the ability to steal their identitiy and infiltrate higher government, but they’ll also have only allowed democrat votes through. If you think things are bad now, just wait until we have an Al Qaeda operative in the white house.
Maybe instead of sitting on a message board whining about how picked on you are, you should get out there and let your fists do the talking. Until we start taking action against Al Qaeda and the Iraqii insuragents who are pouring into our country, nothing is ever going to change here folks!
But then I’m sure you’ll just twist my words and make this issue about stem cell murder or something.

October 26th, 2006 at 3:08 pmHow about you guys and girls take this anger and actually VOTE in November instead of sitting in front of your computers getting fatter and whining! Do something about this country if you don’t like. Crying on blogs and posting on webpages will do NOTHING. Get off your fat, lazy duffs and FIX THIS COUNTRY!
October 26th, 2006 at 3:08 pmFake voter booths S. Bahl? Wow…..that is REALLY out there dude!!!
The fear-mongers have really gotten to you. I suggest professional help.
And what does Mr./Ms. No Faith in America (I’m so sorry that you have no faith in America btw – very sad) think needs fixing in this country anyway? Everything seems fine to me!
p.s. I’m told that my duff is quite nice actually.
October 26th, 2006 at 3:20 pmi for one am quite fit actually,
October 26th, 2006 at 3:25 pmand i do vote there ‘no faith’, remember
its just expression y’all,
takes a only a minute,
you know, it feels good ‘no faith’,
like after you posted “sitting in front of your computer, getting fatter and whining!”
about people
“sitting in front of ‘their’ computers getting fatter and whining!”
about all the bs in politricks these days,
LOL
posting on articles doesn’t mean you do or don’t vote, sheesh………
but everyone should vote, agreed
d;-{D>
S. Bahl, how well connected are you to the terror networks? That imposter voting booth deployment sounds like that should be sent to the highest authorities right away.
What’s that you say? The story came from the highest authorities? Have they already infiltrated us? this is terrible.
Good thing your on the job.
jeeesh.
October 26th, 2006 at 3:28 pmWOW S. Bah is a genius. A comedic genius, but a genius nonetheless. Bra-vo.
October 26th, 2006 at 3:28 pmUntil we start taking action against Al Qaeda and the Iraqii insuragents who are pouring into our country
That’s an Al Qaeda insurgent who is under my bed? I thought it was a dust bunny. Say, if you stare at it long enough, it does look like Saddam.

October 26th, 2006 at 4:09 pm-releasing a comment like this benifits the Republican party and the Bush administration in many ways. What happens happens, but the way they say it or put a spin on it warps what really happens.
Lets see. No Faith in America demands in comment that we get off our “fat duffs”, stop posting, and “do something”. So, No Faith in America also has no faith in anyone else either. That’s fine. But… if posting comments on webpages is so ineffectual, why is No Faith in America posting on webpages ??? Surely this individual doesn’t think he or she can “do something” by communicating this to us. Communication obviously doesn’t work, or we wouldn’t be given our marching orders by “No Faith in America”, would we? Why, our very fat asses apparently depend on not voting! So since communication isn’t good enough, and we obviously don’t vote, instead we are exhorted to… what… fix the America in which he has no faith? I’m truely inspired by the cohesion of thought that NO FAITH IN AMERICA has delivered to our whining, crybaby, fat, lazy duffs. In fact, just to show how dedicated he is to our duffs, I think he should kiss every last one of them.
October 26th, 2006 at 5:41 pm#99 nofaith, my ballot is already in the mail, like it is for every election, so i’ve bought and paid for my right to be here bitching. i’d wager there aren’t a lot of non-voters hanging out here, other than the trolls, that is…..

October 26th, 2006 at 7:13 pmYeah, that’s right Mr. Rumsfeld.
Iraqi insurgents stay glued to their TV sets, watching CNN for the latest news about the American political landscape all day long. Or at least for as long as they have electricity.
They pay close attention to those opinion polls. Whenever they see Pres Bush’s numbers go up, they spring off the couch and go shoot the first American soldier they see.
Thanks for the clarification. I understand the situation in Iraq so much better now.
Stay the course! oh wait… I forgot we’ve never been ’stay the course’. What’s the motto du jour? I didn’t get the memo.
October 27th, 2006 at 1:53 amFunny, you failed to post the most important part of the transcript/interview:
MR. HENNEN: I have a source in the Pentagon that has told me that recently there was a website of one of the terrorist groups, and I believe it might even be multiple websites, that are specifically in Arabic talking about influencing our elections in two weeks, about how the next two weeks is very crucial; the violence needs to be ramped up so as to influence the elections. Is that true?
SEC. RUMSFELD: I have seen those reports that there are terrorist websites that say that. It would be logical, obviously. It worked in Spain. And these people are smart. They’re vicious. They’re determined. And they watch very carefully what’s taking place in the United States. They know there’s this coming up. And I wouldn’t doubt it for a second.
———–
Might you liberals be trying to hide the fact that the terrorists want you to win, since they know you are soft on them???? Hmmmm????
October 28th, 2006 at 10:48 amI can’t believe that anybody is even questioning this…. Of course the terrorists want the democrats to win. This has nothing to do with anybodies patriotism or equating democrats to terrorists.
The Dems dont have a plan and everybody (including the terrorists) know it.
October 28th, 2006 at 6:00 pm[...] In an interview with North Dakota radio host Scott Hennen, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld said that “it would be logical” that terrorist groups are ramping up violence in Iraq and elsewhere to give liberals a boost in November’s election.read more | digg story Links [...]
October 30th, 2006 at 7:01 amApparently the idiots who write these articles forgot about what happened in Spain. The enemy knows our history and knows recent events as well. They get CNN too. they saw how Spain reacted after the train attack. The polls shifted immediately and the ant wa r candidate won. Gee, ya think they might try that again? You honestly believe the recent spike in violence has nothing to do with the election? well, if you do I have a nice bridge in San Francisco i’d like to sell you.
The enemy knows a congress controlled by the democrats will push for timetables, redeployment (cut and run), and may even stop the funding for the war. That is what they want. They want us to leave so they can take over. Can you anti Bush people explain how redeployment is going to make us safer? How is pulling out of Iraq essentially giving these terrorists a victory going to improve our safety? The enemy wants to see all of us die. That is the facts and you cannot negotiate with people who want to kill you. So, libs, anti war fools, what do we do? Bin Laden calls the Iraq war the central front in his war against us. Another FACT you libs ignore or hide. If we pull out we might as well raise the white flag and start bowing toward Mecca.
October 30th, 2006 at 5:20 pmWhat is unbelievale is that Democrats cannot take off their political bias to get that the terrorists would love an immediate withdrawl from Iraq. They would love our weak policies of 10 years ago. Thats what allowed for 9/11 afterall.
Libs use your brain for a change. Unplug from MTV and get off Michael Moore’s teet.
Think, and realize that you are being manipulated by self serving Clintonistas and Pelosi like policies that would love to keep you on their plantation. Afterall why is that independent thinking blacks are always Unlce Tom’s? They are off the Lefty Plantation. No more entitlements, no more people on welfare is bad for Democratic business.
November 5th, 2006 at 10:58 pmSo, do you feel safer from terrorist now that Democrats control the House? I you , do you do not understand our enemy.
