It’s like the old joke about the Adulterer that has such strong convitions about “Never Killing Anyone”, and the “Killer” with such strong convictions about never committing Adultery….
So, we get the Adulterer to speak on Not Killing, and then we get the Killer to speak on not committing Adultery.

Rumors about Crist being gay have swirled around the campaign for months, but he has constantly denied them.

Outside the Mi Viejo San Juan restaurant, a mob of TV reporters cornered Bush and Crist, peppering them with questions about a gay rights group’s call earlier in the day for Crist to come out of the closet.

Crist brushed it all aside.

“Silly season junk. Next question,” said Crist, currently Florida’s attorney general.

But Bush became peeved when a reporter persisted and cut off an Hispanic journalist trying to pose a question in Spanish.

Must have been that grueling hour, maybe hour-and-a-half drive from Colorado Springs to Denver that got him so stressed out that he needed a big strapping man to loosen him up real good, I guess.

“Evangelicals are appalled by all that,” said Pastor Ted Haggard, president of the National Assn. of Evangelicals in Colorado Springs, Colo. “We evangelicals view Mormons as a Christian cult group. A cult group is a group that claims exclusive revelation. And typically, it’s hard to get out of these cult groups. And so Mormonism qualifies as that.”

In addition, Haggard said, evangelicals do not accept Mormon Church founder Joseph Smith as a prophet. “And we do not believe that the Book of Mormon has the same level of authority as the Bible,” he said.

When Romney says that he accepts Jesus Christ as his savior, “we appreciate that,” Haggard said. “But very often when people like Mormons use terms that we also use, there are different meanings in the theology behind those terms.”

Yeah.. cuz ya know.. if the Democrats get away with it, it MUST be okay for the Republicans to get away with it.

Speaking as someone who dislikes both parties: If you’re going to defend what he did, then bring it on. If you’re going to mope that people are calling him on it, shut the hell up. Oooo.. hypocrasy in politics.. How did THAT happen??

Anyway, you should be happy this is drawing attention away from what a crappy job the Reps are doing in Iraq.

Also, keep in mind that Jesus was speaking about real stones cast from hands to kill. That is NOT what’s going on here. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Sometimes when Jesus is telling us not to throw stones, he’s not using a metaphor. He’s telling us not to physically throw stones unless you are free of sin. The man Haggard has not repented. He turns what he tells us is more than one mortal sin into “indiscretions” Where does he get off?

Throwing stones? PV.. we’re talking about someone who uses his position to tell us all that certain things are a grave sin and then gets caught doing those very things. I’ll throw buicks at the man. I’ve been wrong before and I’ve even broken the law once or twice, but I’ve never done something so tragically hypocritical in my entire life. I think even by your books standards, I’m allowed.
