When you’ve Diebolded American elections in 2000, 2002 and 2004, there’s little reason to think that you can’t Electronically Smirk and Steal (ES&S) elections in 2006.
Cheers.
Bull s*&^, this bunch has been on a constant campaign since 1994, the only diffrence is we are now footing the bill to fly their sorry asses all over the country…..Blessings….we deserve them.
Sounds like, smells like, and tastes like “stay the course” to me. Please don’t change a thing, that way all the asshats we don’t get in the 2006 elections, we’ll be sure to cleanout in 2008.
well, one should always read the whole story…
it’s only slightly less offensive in context: “It may not be popular with the public — it doesn’t matter in the sense that we have to continue the mission and do what we think is right. And that’s exactly what we’re doing,” Cheney said. “We’re not running for office. We’re doing what we think is right.”
still, ya hafta wonder how/what the military families think about this…
such a shame… but no surprise…
…but wait… so, if they were running for office, the “course” would be different, more “popular with the public”?
?
You know what Cheney? The only reason the democrats probably will not impeach Bush is because that would leace us you. But there is something else you should know. VPs can be impeached also. See ya in January.
“It may not be popular with the public — it doesn’t matter in the sense that we have to continue the mission and do what we think is right.” [my bold]
wow, he seems to have completely missed the point of a democracy… or representative republic, or whatever the US is supposed to be. could sentences like that help in his removal from office?
shortened cheney: ignore question, repeat lies, ignore question, straw man, repeat lies. this is nothing new but what an assh*le.
YOU may not be running for office, Cheney, but a lot of Republican congresscritters who’ve been rubber-stamping your policies ARE — and if there’s any justice in the world, you might just find yourself in for a bit of a rude awakening after Election Day.
it is long… karl may still have something up his blood-stained dark sleeve–i fear that with the iranian ‘tests’, he may send an american missle into the desert and claim it iranian–on sunday night…
crossing my fingers though! this sex scandal, the vanity fair piece, and the army times editorial coming on monday are all excellent news, however…
i also am happy to see kyl in arizona–my sleeper senate pick–polling less than ten per cent above the democrat.
that was the length of time of the ground assault in Desert Storm under Bush the First. It was tactically brilliant and politically a well-orchestrated event to set up Saddam for world condemnation. It worked, and the following sanctions kept Saddam’s regime neutered for a decade.
Then Junior took the throne of power and…well…we have 100 hours to find out if there is such a thing left as a free and fair election in the United States.
j, I would be certain Unka Karl has something in store, but damn, all this other stuff is just drawing the MSM like flies. I think the killer is going to be the army times editorial. The right will lose a lot of old military guys. Unless they come up with a picture of Pelosie blowing a 14 year old, the right may just be toast. heh.
Did you notice the Iraqi high command has cancelled all military leaves in anticipation of expected violence upon the announcement of Saddam’s sentence. Oh, and the formality of announcing the verdict before the sentence.
No. Dick, you may not be running for anything, but you might be running from something: white-wigged justices from the Hague, gavels raised in the air, might be chasing you down Pennsylvania Avenue. This is the stuff of nightmares, Dick: may it occur again and again throughout your life.
By the way, could there be a religious significance to the troop level in Iraq?
144,000. Revelations. The end times. 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes of Israel will be assembled…i.e. 144,000. nah…just a coincidence. Bush isn’t trying to bring about Armageddon.
Rumsfeld has lost credibility with the uniformed leadership, with the troops, with Congress and with the public at large. His strategy has failed, and his ability to lead is compromised. And although the blame for our failures in Iraq rests with the secretary, it will be the troops who bear its brunt.
This is not about the midterm elections. Regardless of which party wins Nov. 7, the time has come, Mr. President, to face the hard bruising truth:
Cheney is telling America F-U!
We are in power, we can do what we want and we intend to do so.
The man has steel heart and ice in his veins but yet he retains a helluva lot of arrogance.
Cheney = POS
Zooey: I just hope the Boy King restrains himself from executing Saddam publicly — after the sentence is read, of course.
You cannot possibly think that Boy George has *any* power over the Al Dawa party and the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution of Iraq.
If he did, why is Sharia law being implemented thru Shia controlled sections of Iraq?
Why is the Badr Corps still operating so effectively?
Why is Al Sadr still alive?
Boy George lost control the day the Iraqis voted for rule by a fundamentalist Shiite republic.
Right then, he unleashed the rabid ravenous lions who were beaten, tortured, and executed by Saddam Hussein during the 20 plus years prior to the invasion.

Someday, maybe not right away, I will get you for that, my dear — kilt or no kilt. Nevermind….
His oath of office is to protect citizens, not work for enriching himself and his petro cronies.
He is and has been dead-wrong from day one. Creating terrorists that are and will kill Americans as a result of attempting to control Iraqi oil fields. And Lynne is crazy too.
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Nothing in there about protecting citizens, just the Constitution…that “scrap of paper.”
Instead of holding Bush and Cheney accountable to their oaths the Republican Congress has instead given the green light to each violation of the Constitution this Administration has committed.
This is from Bush: “I believe freedom is universal. I believe there’s an Almighty, and a great gift of the Almighty to each man and woman and child on the face of the earth is a desire to be free,” he said, recalling that thousands of Iraqis voted in free elections once they were freed from Saddam Hussein’s tyranny
#70 You are entitled to your opinion and I am not exactly respectful of evangelicals but if you are going to throw away Billy Grahams (he is a Dem) vote and anybody that follows him and his politics I think you are a fool. It makes me ill when Obama and company pander to the religious but if you are talking actual Christian, the type that cares about the poor and their fellow man I think it is stupid to deny them a choice.
Um, can someone break down the strategy that is working so well for them and has seen 11 US soldiers killed in three days this month? America’s Least Wanted
(I trust all readers of this website have a plan ready in case the reported “election” results differ from exit polling by more than the margin of error?)
No party, I celebrate by making people say happy birthday to me, and telling them they’re supposed to look shocked when I tell them how old I am. I’m really rude sometimes.
You’re an hour earlier than when, Juan? I’m on Pacific Time.
I celebrate by making people say happy birthday to me, and telling them they’re supposed to look shocked when I tell them how old I am.
How old are u? :)

Than the hour and minute that will be posted after my name.
Goodscarrier, why is it that I am doubting your liberal credentials? That would be because you don’t answer any freaking questions and keep spouting whatever it is that you spout. Shut up and listen for once.
#96, JPark: Goodscarrier, why is it that I am doubting your liberal credentials? That would be because you don’t answer any freaking questions and keep spouting whatever it is that you spout. Shut up and listen for once.
Shut up and listen for once?
Kiss my ass loser.
Zooey’s joke was not and still is not clear.
Zooey post made it sound like Zooey thinks Bush is in charge.
Zooey has not clarified this.
Got a problem with thinking or asking pertinent questions unlike those below?
“It doesn’t matter” whether or not we like it. What an abominable asshole.
Btw, has anyone considered that the GOP has more than attack ads in their arsenal? Suppose they throw the election again… only in favor of the Democrats this time?
Goodscarrier, Zooey has been here a whole lot longer than you. If you want to attack her, go ahead. You are not going to win any allies though. Perhaps you should shut up and read for awhile.
108, JPark: Goodscarrier, if you want to be a moron, you go right ahead and do it. Or you can apologize and be welcomed into the fold. The choice is yours.
Welcomed into the fold?
Why would I want to be welcomed into the fold?
Is Zooey the sheperd and you are a sheep?
Apologize?
For what?
Asking for clarification?
People like you are giving progressives a bad name.
JPark: Unplug. Stretch your legs. You are losing it.
Clarification is not what you were “asking for”. You were in her face and insulted her, claiming it wasn’t funny. Fine, it isn’t your type of humor. So, ignore it. I don’t get why you are attacking her?
You have no idea what you are posting about do you?
Comment by Goodscarrier
She was making a joke about GWB´s bloodthirst about the outcome of Saddam´s trial. For him it would be a victory if he is punished with a death penalty. As if justice was made (of course he should be put to death IMO but by Iraqi population and not an invading army). It would help him a lot in the coming elections, as dumb US citizens see the killing of people as personal victories. All of us, got it. You dont. You seem to be the one who is clueless.
Goodscarrier, sheep, eh? Because I respect Zooey? You don’t know what that is, do you? Respect…no, because you have never given it and certainly nobody has ever given it to you.
Why are there so many pedophile (and now gay) republicans? Says:
Someone needs to dress ol GI Joe Cheney up in some caumo and ship his ass off to Iraq to fight along side the troops. Little prick. They would friendly fire his ass quicker then you can say Rumsfeld.
#118, JPark: Clarification is not what you were “asking forâ€. You were in her face and insulted her, claiming it wasn’t funny. Fine, it isn’t your type of humor. So, ignore it. I don’t get why you are attacking her?
Goodscarrier. Ok, you do not respect people who have proven themselves. Gotcha. The web is free and wide open but your disrespect is not appreciated. And if you keep it up I guarantee you it won’t be tolerated for long by the powers that be. It is not THAT free and wide open.
AGAIN: I asked for clarification. You guys make the Bush folks seem wise, open minded, and governed in mind.
Comment by Goodscarrier
I think we are being a little hard on Goodscarrier. He didnt attack Zoo, in my opinion. But you see, Goods, Zoo is one of the funniest, brightest people here…so, you get the picture.
Goodscarrier, you just don’t get it, do you? Bush as wise, open minded and governed (not sure what you were going for there)…nope, none of those would describe Bush. Evil, petty and incompetent, yes. And your insults toward Zooey are the same.
Juan, maybe you are more more objective since you came in late. I think he was just being a jag-off after Zooey made her joke but I will defer to you if you think not…for now.
Ok, never mind. Sorry, Juan. Goods, no matter what, you will never be accepted…anywhere. The fact is you are a jack-ass and while people here may not agree with me you will always be an outsider because of that. If I were in a position to give advice I would say don’t be so combative with those who have similar beliefs.
#124 Goodscarrier: AGAIN: I asked for clarification. You guys make the Bush folks seem wise, open minded, and governed in mind.
#130 JPark: Goodscarrier, you just don’t get it, do you? Bush as wise, open minded and governed (not sure what you were going for there)…nope, none of those would describe Bush.
I never expressed in any way that Bush is as you say I have in #130.
I think he was just being a jag-off after Zooey made her joke but I will defer to you if you think not…for now.
Comment by JPark
Well, thanks but thats up to Zoo. Remember, always do as the leader says, JPark. :)
Come on. Lighten up, everybody, I think we are in the same side. We (well, actually you) need that more than anything this november. Good luck on that…really.
#132, JPark: Goods, no matter what, you will never be accepted…anywhere. The fact is you are a jack-ass and while people here may not agree with me you will always be an outsider because of that.
Again: You are losing it man. Look at what you are writing. Think about it. You think I actually give a hoot if you, Juan, and Zooey accept me into the fold? You are also claiming I am attacking Zooey when one of your own says I have not. C.R.A.Z.Y
Goods, that is the liberal way. We can disagree. Juan doesn’t think you attacked Zooey and you, like a conservative, jump on that statement even though the offended (Zooey) thinks you did. Instead of apologizing to Zoo like you should, you act like a Republican.
79 - you might want to research the battle dress of the Ancient Greeks. Zooey would likely approve.
Goods-carrier - I believe Bush does in fact have a lot of say over what happens in the Iraqi government. The court was ready to deliver Saddam’s verdict about 2 weeks ago, and was ‘mysteriously’ delayed until this Sunday, for the express purpose of maximizing political effect for Republicans. Look at earlier threads.
Any government that needs 144,000 US Troops to stay in power is a puppet government.
Zooey made a derogatory reference to the “Boy King” and you come back and slam her? Zooey is well known and well liked by many of the posters here. The same cannot be said of you at this point.
Reasoned and respectful discourse is always welcome here. If that is what you wish to contribute your comments will be well received.
Juan C BTW, Hey, gorn. I believe I attacked you yesterday about a religious America. Sorry about the Nascar Series remarks…thought you were a troll. Sorry.
No problem, Juan, I didn’t see your post. Tell me the thread and I will go read it and have a laugh.
BTW, you may have missed my post a week or so ago where I nominated you for honorary US citizenship in trade for about 10 trolls I would like to see deported. Such a trade would instantly increase the total IQ in the US and decrease the population, so it seems a winner.
# 124 Goodscarrier: AGAIN: I asked for clarification. You guys make the Bush folks seem wise, open minded, and governed in mind.
#130 JPark: Goodscarrier, you just don’t get it, do you? Bush as wise, open minded and governed (not sure what you were going for there)…nope, none of those would describe Bush.
#135, JPark: Um, no, I did not accuse you of saying those things about Bush. Try again.
What did you?
I used sarcasm against the Bush folks.
You then used my own words to make it sound that I described Bush with those words, i.e. “wise, open minded, and governed in mind”
Another nice ROVIAN tactic: Caught in a lie just keep moving !
Goods, I read what I wrote and I can see why you might think I used you words against you. It was not my intention. However, if you say I am Rovian one more time I will not hold back while blasting you.
“It may not be popular with the public — it doesn’t matter in the sense that we have to continue the mission and do what we think is right.”
This statement summarises the Bush administration to the T: They will never listen to the people they are supposed to represent and serve, because they -as leaders- know better than the rabble.
For these neo-cons, the public’s expectation is something that needs to be managed rather than taken into consideration when making policy decisions.
No problem, Juan, I didn’t see your post. Tell me the thread and I will go read it and have a laugh.

Just 10? :)
Such a trade would instantly increase the total IQ in the US and decrease the population, so it seems a winner.
Didnt read it. Thank you very much, but there is a lot to do here in III World Countries. (Not that I contribute significantly, but you know what I mean…) Besides you, progressive, interesting, clever people have your country pretty much under control, as long you organize, IMHO.
#141, Briseadh na Faire: Goods-carrier - I believe Bush does in fact have a lot of say over what happens in the Iraqi government.
Really?
Why is it, then, that the Al Dawa party and the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution of Iraq (sic!!) are primarily holding the reins of power Iin Iraq?
Do you really think they care about Bush wants and are going to throw away over twenty years of effort at trying to violently transform a secular Iraq into a Shiite fundamentalist republic?
#145, JPark: Goods, I read what I wrote and I can see why you might think I used you words against you. It was not my intention. However, if you say I am Rovian one more time I will not hold back while blasting you.

i really wish him well… even though he would condemn me for having my house cat’s front paws declawed… but she nor i have regrets…
.
JPark, she used separate sentences….separate paragraphs even! And apparently she’s Googled the battle dress of the Ancient Greeks. If you’re wondering how I knew what she’d find, well, my hobby is playing with tin soldiers - recreating historical battles in miniature. Including ancient Greek battles. And the figures are historically accurate.
Juan C: Now, were you the one with the: Oral Roberts? … ha ha ha! That was the best comment.
Thank you. Yes, I will take credit for being the first on TP to dig up the Oral Bob information and the first to make a smart-a$$ comment about it. With that kind of deep journalistic sleuthing (one quick Google search) I could be the next Drudge.
Of course, I’d need to first buy a groovy hat and get a frontal lobotomy…

Well, the US does meddle in Iraq’s internal affairs, to such an extent that the previous Prime Minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, resigned after intense US pressure.
Now, the US might not get their way every single time, but American presence is definitely felt in Baghdad. Letting unsavory organisations share the government is a pragmatic approach to running a country.
Why is it, then, that the Al Dawa party and the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution of Iraq (sic!!) are primarily holding the reins of power Iin Iraq?
Comment by Goodscarrier — November 4, 2006 @ 12:41 am
You’re not as widely read as you make yourself out to be. The elected government in Iraq is not holding the reins of power. If it were, there would not be the level of sectarian violence we see daily. The current government in Iraq is seen as a puppet government by the Iraqis. Yet, as a puppet government, there is a mutual relationship going on with Washington. Both governments are using each other as the players vie for power, and wealth.
I’ve seen your tactic here before, GC; a reasonable introduction followed by unreasonable attacks. It doesn’t wash.
Your Rune is MANN:REVERSED. “you have made many enemies and they are ready to move against you.” feel free to look it up.
You, sir, do not deserve the title of ‘President of the United States’. You have not earned it and you certainly have not acted like one. You are nothing but the equivalent of a dummy, front company commonly used by our intelligence corps to perform covert operations whenever necessary. Except in your case, you excepted the task of fronting a cabal of sycophants that only wants to control the masses through fear. Unending and incessant fear usually based on half-truths and/or absolute falsehoods. You are as un-American as un-American can be. You should be ashamed but, you have no sense of shame. You should absolve yourself to the American people but, you have no integrity.
In closing, your dreams of omnipotent rule are just that, dreams. Dreams of a delusional magnitude never before seen in an administration of this country. A country that you have done nothing to benefit. A wonderful country you selfishly seek to destroy for your personal benefit. In your blindness to your aggrandisement, you’re selling out our future and our history forever. I just hope, for my fellow countrymen, that somehow soon, you find humility.
did you watch maher, briseadh na faire?
that pinhead, kingston (R-GA) was so getting on my nerves… at times he seemed almost human, but then he would spout some ignorant talking point and proved himself to be a bush-bot…
that chick should have tried harder… she was new to me…
179 - not this time. ’twas I, trying to give JPark a leg up. so to speak. by letting him know how he could captialize on his Greek heritage to win your…heart. so to speak.
and with this, I bid you once again a Happy B-day and pleasant dreams.
So, he doesn’t give a sh$% since they are not running for office and they are doing what is right. So, if he was running for office then what would be right? Does he realize men and women of America are dying for his game, money, oil? Does he realize children and other innocent people are being killed? yes, he does and that only shows how evil he is and how badly we need change. Just like Bush, and the rest, they do not care what America wants. I just wish the god he and bush worship will come claim him and save our country.
You can’t blame Bush or Chenney, God told Bush to go to war and that is that, Gods fault. Lets pray God doesn’t give him any more advice for the sake of America!
This comment by Cheney is interesting in that it may reflect what he knows privately between the neocons and presage their intent within the near future to declare martial law and suspend the constitution once and for all. This theory seems supported by their recent flurry of constitutional destruction with the resurrection of the insurrection act, elimination of habeus corpus, legalization of torture and unending incarceration.
This comment by Cheney is interesting in that it may reflect what he knows privately between the neocons and presage their intent within the near future to declare martial law and suspend the constitution once and for all.
I am gonna speculate that may happen, but about a decade down the road…
Sounds like the mentality of Hitler in the bunker. The German people are not worthy of the Führer, etc. (Ja, ja, send the 14 year olds to the front. After all it’s only two blocks away)
Cheney is crazy. According to him, deficits don’t matter. Hmmmmm? Yeah! Sure! You tell like it is! You, and your rich CEO friends have $80,000,000 million dollar Swiss bank accounts. No wonder deficits don’t matter. They wouldn’t matter to me either, Buster.
Dick, can I get in on several of those nice governmental contracts? I’ll give you a free supply of Haagen Dazs ice cream for a year? Two years? Ten years? Twenty-five years?
Documents: 1999 U.S. War Games Predicted Iraqi Chaos
Saturday , November 04, 2006
WASHINGTON — The U.S. government conducted a series of secret war games in 1999 that anticipated an invasion of Iraq would require 400,000 troops, and even then chaos might ensue.
In its “Desert Crossing” games, 70 military, diplomatic and intelligence officials assumed the high troop levels would be needed to keep order, seal borders and take care of other security needs.
The documents came to light Saturday through a Freedom of Information Act request by the George Washington University’s National Security Archive, an independent research institute and library.
• Visit FOXNews.com’s Iraq center for more in-depth coverage.
“The conventional wisdom is the U.S. mistake in Iraq was not enough troops,” said Thomas Blanton, the archive’s director. “But the Desert Crossing war game in 1999 suggests we would have ended up with a failed state even with 400,000 troops on the ground.”
There are currently about 144,000 U.S. troops in Iraq, down from a peak of about 160,000 in January.
A spokeswoman for U.S. Central Command, which sponsored the seminar and declassified the secret report in 2004, declined to comment Saturday because she was not familiar with the documents.
The war games looked at “worst case” and “most likely” scenarios after a war that removed then-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein from power. Some are similar to what actually occurred after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003:
—”A change in regimes does not guarantee stability,” the 1999 seminar briefings said. “A number of factors including aggressive neighbors, fragmentation along religious and/or ethnic lines, and chaos created by rival forces bidding for power could adversely affect regional stability.”
—”Even when civil order is restored and borders are secured, the replacement regime could be problematic — especially if perceived as weak, a puppet, or out-of-step with prevailing regional governments.”
—”Iran’s anti-Americanism could be enflamed by a U.S.-led intervention in Iraq,” the briefings read. “The influx of U.S. and other western forces into Iraq would exacerbate worries in Tehran, as would the installation of a pro-western government in Baghdad.”
—”The debate on post-Saddam Iraq also reveals the paucity of information about the potential and capabilities of the external Iraqi opposition groups. The lack of intelligence concerning their roles hampers U.S. policy development.”
—”Also, some participants believe that no Arab government will welcome the kind of lengthy U.S. presence that would be required to install and sustain a democratic government.”
—”A long-term, large-scale military intervention may be at odds with many coalition partners.”
#166, Briseadh na Faire: The elected government in Iraq is not holding the reins of power.
Al Dawa and the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution of Iraq are not holding the reins of power?
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki directly ordered the removal of US military blockades on Sadr City and another Shiite enclave.
How is that not holding the reins of power?
Long long ago the following was reported by Galbraith. You seem totally at odds w/ an expert: Since Saddam’s fall, Shiite religious parties have had de facto control over Iraq’s southern cities. There Iranian-style religious police enforce a conservative Islamic code, including dress codes and bans on alcohol and other non-Islamic behavior. In most cases, the religious authorities govern–and legislate–without authority from Baghdad, and certainly without any reference to the freedoms incorporated in Iraq’s American-written interim constitution–the Transitional Administrative Law (TAL).
#166, Briseadh na Faire: If it were, there would not be the level of sectarian violence we see daily.
The sectarian violence we see daily is because al-Maliki is showing restraint. He’s been active and longing for these very days for over twenty years. The insurgents, the Sunnis, could be wiped out if he unleashed all the Iranian trained and backed paramilitary units at his disposal.
#166, Briseadh na Faire: The current government in Iraq is seen as a puppet government by the Iraqis.
Really?
You mean the vote was fixed and not truely representative of the majority of Shiites in Iraq?
#166, Briseadh na Faire: Both governments are using each other as the players vie for power, and wealth.
You are ignorant. Bush has no leverage against al-Maliki. If al-Maliki says US OUT of IRAQ. The US will be expulsed. This is just a matter of time.
Who exactly do you think the Al Dawa and the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution of Iraq are?
They have been trying to violently transform Iraq into a Shiite fundamentalist republic for more than twenty years. There is a helluva lot more going on than what you are reading in the press.

wow, he seems to have completely missed the point of a democracy… or representative republic, or whatever the US is supposed to be. could sentences like that help in his removal from office?
shortened cheney: ignore question, repeat lies, ignore question, straw man, repeat lies. this is nothing new but what an assh*le.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:03 pm“It may not be popular with the public — it doesn’t matter…We’re not running for office.â€
Wow this Dick needs to learn what democracy is!
Just another psychopath in a world of 40% psychopaths.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:06 pmThat’s what the captain of the Titanic said.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:08 pm#14 That quote was pretty interesting. He pretty much stated that their Iraq policy might be different if Bush was running.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:09 pm“It may not be popular with the public — it doesn’t matter…We’re not running for office.â€
Stalin, Hitler… (pick your favorite “dick”-tator) probably said the same thing at some point in their careers too.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:10 pmCheney on Iraq: “full speed ahead… - - …over the cliff.”
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:11 pmDear Family of (decesed) soldier: ‘Your family member doesn’t matter because cheney and the bush gang aren’t running for election anyway’
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:16 pmThank you #15, Republicans are smearful and fearful party
That seems to be a realistic comparison.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:20 pmAnyone who supports this guy or BushCo might as well belong to a herd of lemmings. Idiots.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:22 pmSend Cheney and his two daughters to Iraq > they can fight for the oil!
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:27 pmHappy Birthday, Zooey!

November 3rd, 2006 at 9:43 pmThank you, katy, JPark, and…
(OH MY GOD!!), the one and only james risser! It’s been a long time j, how are you?
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:45 pmI’m tired.
Just needed to stay up long enough to wish Zooey a Happy B-day.
Keep fighting the good fight.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:48 pmYOU may not be running for office, Cheney, but a lot of Republican congresscritters who’ve been rubber-stamping your policies ARE — and if there’s any justice in the world, you might just find yourself in for a bit of a rude awakening after Election Day.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:54 pmZooey, TrueBlue, and Katy
I hate you all. I hope you all die!!!
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:55 pmi’m fine! all prepared for the impending massacre of the bush administration in 100 hours!!
just thought i would come here and celebrate…
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:56 pmI’m looking forward the massacre, too, j. Only 100 hours? It seems so long.
Are you having any trouble posting comments?
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:58 pm#32 - We all die, Jason. You will, too. But we will die peaceful souls.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:00 pmit is long… karl may still have something up his blood-stained dark sleeve–i fear that with the iranian ‘tests’, he may send an american missle into the desert and claim it iranian–on sunday night…
crossing my fingers though! this sex scandal, the vanity fair piece, and the army times editorial coming on monday are all excellent news, however…
i also am happy to see kyl in arizona–my sleeper senate pick–polling less than ten per cent above the democrat.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:04 pm100 hours.
that was the length of time of the ground assault in Desert Storm under Bush the First.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:11 pmCheney is absolutely correct, for the war profiteers.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:12 pmj, I would be certain Unka Karl has something in store, but damn, all this other stuff is just drawing the MSM like flies. I think the killer is going to be the army times editorial. The right will lose a lot of old military guys. Unless they come up with a picture of Pelosie blowing a 14 year old, the right may just be toast. heh.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:13 pm#35 As much as I dislike Hendler that wasn’t him. I have lodged a complaint against the misuse of his name.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:14 pmJPark,
I didn’t think that had enough words in it to be Jason, but I thought maybe he was finally losing it — 100 hours….
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:17 pmDid you notice the Iraqi high command has cancelled all military leaves in anticipation of expected violence upon the announcement of Saddam’s sentence. Oh, and the formality of announcing the verdict before the sentence.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:18 pmJason+M+Hendler: I hate you all. I hope you all die!!!
Spoken like a true right-wing Christian in pink panties, jack-boots, and with a meth pipe perched between rosy red lips!
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:19 pmNo. Dick, you may not be running for anything, but you might be running from something: white-wigged justices from the Hague, gavels raised in the air, might be chasing you down Pennsylvania Avenue. This is the stuff of nightmares, Dick: may it occur again and again throughout your life.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:20 pmBy the way, could there be a religious significance to the troop level in Iraq?
144,000. Revelations. The end times. 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes of Israel will be assembled…i.e. 144,000. nah…just a coincidence. Bush isn’t trying to bring about Armageddon.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:20 pmTime for Rumsfeld to go
[snip]
Rumsfeld has lost credibility with the uniformed leadership, with the troops, with Congress and with the public at large. His strategy has failed, and his ability to lead is compromised. And although the blame for our failures in Iraq rests with the secretary, it will be the troops who bear its brunt.
This is not about the midterm elections. Regardless of which party wins Nov. 7, the time has come, Mr. President, to face the hard bruising truth:
Donald Rumsfeld must go.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:22 pmBriseadh na Faire,
It’s going to be SO bad over there…so much worse.
I just hope the Boy King restrains himself from executing Saddam publicly — after the sentence is read, of course.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:22 pm#41 The fake Hendler is all over several threads. Unlike righties I am offended by his fakery.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:23 pmBNF, I hear that 144,000 is the exact number that is allowed into heaven.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:25 pmThat is not a joke. That is the number, according to Billy Graham (I like him, personally)
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:26 pmCheney is telling America F-U!
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:31 pmWe are in power, we can do what we want and we intend to do so.
The man has steel heart and ice in his veins but yet he retains a helluva lot of arrogance.
Cheney = POS
The US is fuct.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:31 pmI didn’t think that had enough words in it to be Jason…

I sure hope you are right.
JPark: That is the number, according to Billy Graham (I like him, personally)
Hilly Billy Graham is no textual scholar.
Hilly Billy Graham has ZERO competence in the langugaes necessary to read the so-called Bible, e.g. Arabic Aramaic, Syrian, Greek, Hebrew, Latin, etc.
Hilly Billy Graham is an imposter who has no business leading Christian as an illiterate.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:34 pm#53 Worse, it was someone on our side being an ahole. I can’t tolerate that.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:35 pmBasically, Goodscarrier, I was making a smart-assed joke. You must be new around here…
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:35 pmGoodscarrier, he is a hell of a lot better Christian leader than Falwell or Robertson.

November 3rd, 2006 at 10:40 pmHis oath of office is to protect citizens, not work for enriching himself and his petro cronies.
He is and has been dead-wrong from day one. Creating terrorists that are and will kill Americans as a result of attempting to control Iraqi oil fields. And Lynne is crazy too.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:41 pmLOL, Zooey, you talk the talk…

November 3rd, 2006 at 10:45 pmLynne and stepford Laura have hot, lesbian sex every night. Prove me wrong.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:46 pmBut Zooey, you told me the same thing :)
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:47 pmFools on the Hill: Creating terrorists that are and will kill Americans as a result of attempting to control Iraqi oil fields.
Let’s not forget that our President George W. Bush is creating those terrorists in direct reponse to the horrific attacks of 9/11.
Right?
Bush attacked Iraq due to 9/11.
Iraq is now a burgeoning fundamentalist Islamic republic which has extremely close and long standing ties to Iran which Bush called an `axis of evil’.
In addition to the oceans of blood being spilled, Iraq is going to cost Americans well over $400 BILLION!!
9/11 + Iraq = Bush’s fundamentalist Islamic republic
WTF?
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:48 pm62 - The President’s Oath of Office:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Nothing in there about protecting citizens, just the Constitution…that “scrap of paper.”
Instead of holding Bush and Cheney accountable to their oaths the Republican Congress has instead given the green light to each violation of the Constitution this Administration has committed.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:50 pmJPark,
Your plate revenge isn’t cold yet….patience….
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:50 pmJPark: Goodscarrier, he is a hell of a lot better Christian leader than Falwell or Robertson.
I think they are all losers who cannot even READ.
How can they be treating people with contempt and scorn without even being able to READ?
They can all kiss my butt WHICH seems to be the Evangelical way!

JPark - Got Kilt?
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:52 pmGoodcarrier,
Precisely:
I just hope the Boy King restrains himself from executing Saddam publicly — after the sentence is read, of course.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:56 pmThis is from Bush: “I believe freedom is universal. I believe there’s an Almighty, and a great gift of the Almighty to each man and woman and child on the face of the earth is a desire to be free,” he said, recalling that thousands of Iraqis voted in free elections once they were freed from Saddam Hussein’s tyranny
600,000 says thanks.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:57 pm#70 You are entitled to your opinion and I am not exactly respectful of evangelicals but if you are going to throw away Billy Grahams (he is a Dem) vote and anybody that follows him and his politics I think you are a fool. It makes me ill when Obama and company pander to the religious but if you are talking actual Christian, the type that cares about the poor and their fellow man I think it is stupid to deny them a choice.
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:57 pmtime for maher! …see ya’s
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:58 pm#69 I am trembling with anticipation…I mean, fear!!
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:58 pmNo kilt, my ancestors were Greek so I guess we wore armored kilts :)
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:59 pmUm, can someone break down the strategy that is working so well for them and has seen 11 US soldiers killed in three days this month?
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:59 pmAmerica’s Least Wanted
Goods - and how does the equation change if people inside the U.S. Government committed the acts of 9/11/01?
PNAC + 9/11 > U.S. Constitution
((Bush + PNAC) x 2Deibold) x (9/11 + Patriot Act + Warrantless Wiretapping + Military Commissions) - Habeus Corpus = 0 x Bill of Rights
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:59 pm“We’re not running for office.”
This is true, what’s the problem? Damn liberals, don’t recognize facts when they see them.

Joke = Bush is in charge in Iraq?
Joke = Bush can’t usually restrain himself while he is control?
I do not get your joke.
What are you making light of exactly w/ regard to Bush?

In fact, literacy is not one of religious virtues…or science or knowledge. If you can say yes to everything, you have one ticket to heaven!

November 3rd, 2006 at 11:05 pmHi Juan,
No party, I celebrate by making people say happy birthday to me, and telling them they’re supposed to look shocked when I tell them how old I am. I’m really rude sometimes.
You’re an hour earlier than when, Juan? I’m on Pacific Time.
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:05 pmAs Lily Tomlin once said, “we don’t care. We don’t have to.”

November 3rd, 2006 at 11:10 pmDammit, I was born on 9-11. It is much more difficult to control people on my birthday. Unless they are righties, that kinda works.
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:11 pmBriseadh na Faire: Goods - and how does the equation change if people inside the U.S. Government committed the acts of 9/11/01?
9/11 + Iraq = Bush’s fundamentalist Islamic republic.
If so….
9/11 = Lucrative contracts for the **Defense**, Oil, Telecomm, Construction, etc companies.
Lucrative contracts for the Defense, Oil, Telecomm, Construction, etc companies = Big campaign contributions to the GOP.
Big campaign contributions to the GOP = Straussian and Hobbes run amok, one step away from the Rise of the Fourth Reich for a generation
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:13 pmGoodscarrier, why is it that I am doubting your liberal credentials? That would be because you don’t answer any freaking questions and keep spouting whatever it is that you spout. Shut up and listen for once.

Shut up and listen for once?
Kiss my ass loser.
Zooey’s joke was not and still is not clear.
Zooey post made it sound like Zooey thinks Bush is in charge.
Zooey has not clarified this.
Got a problem with thinking or asking pertinent questions unlike those below?
#90: You are a little uptight tonight, right?
#89: Do you have a sarcasm block in you brain?
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:23 pmYeah, I caught that, too. Good catch.
“It doesn’t matter” whether or not we like it. What an abominable asshole.
Btw, has anyone considered that the GOP has more than attack ads in their arsenal? Suppose they throw the election again… only in favor of the Democrats this time?
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:26 pmZooey: I just hope the Boy King restrains himself from executing Saddam publicly — after the sentence is read, of course.
Do you think the Boy King has some control over the execution of SH?
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:26 pm#99 Grow a sense of humor. I know it is tough but just give it a shot.
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:28 pmGoodscarrier, Zooey has been here a whole lot longer than you. If you want to attack her, go ahead. You are not going to win any allies though. Perhaps you should shut up and read for awhile.
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:30 pm#101 - Asked and answered.
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:31 pm*yawn*
#102, JPark: Grow a sense of humor. I know it is tough but just give it a shot.
To some, abviously not you, humor can be deep nuanced thinking.
As Colbert has show, humor can be a blunt object with whicj on can pummel the opponent.
Put simply, I did wish to know about Zooey’s homorous thoughts.
To me, there’s nothing wrong or bad about seeking clarification in re to deep nuanced thinking.
I fail to see what the problem is.
What is become clear is that it seems Zooey mispoke and was busted.
Now that is FUNNY!
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:35 pm#103: Goodscarrier, Zooey has been here a whole lot longer than you. If you want to attack her, go ahead.
I am not attacking Zooey.
I was seeking clarification from Zooey.
If I was, please show where I was attacking her.
Standing by.
What is with the seniority stuff on the WEB?
Are you joking?
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:38 pm#105 - What is become clear is that it seems Zooey mispoke and was busted.
Excuse me, Goodcarrier. I don’t know who the f*ck you think you are.
What is it with you idiots who think they get to decide what I meant, or decide if I misspoke — when I was making a f*cking JOKE.
Let it go already, you f*ckwit!
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:42 pmGoodscarrier, if you want to be a moron, you go right ahead and do it. Or you can apologize and be welcomed into the fold. The choice is yours.

HINT: This is the web Zooey.
HINT: TP is not your private lil corner where all things are as you like them.
HINT: If you post, people do not at all need to refrain from responding to your posts.
Question: Clear?
BTW: All I did was ask for clarification. You have no idea what you are posting about do you?
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:47 pmDo you think the Boy King has some control over the execution of SH? - goodscarrier
Perhaps this will help:
satire
1. the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding vice, folly, etc.
2. a literary composition, in verse or prose, in which human folly and vice are held up to scorn, derision, or ridicule.
If you are still having a hard time with this, you might want to become a Republican.
(Hint: that last sentence constituted ironic sarcasm.)
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:49 pmGoodscarrier, if you insult the regulars you are not welcome…clear? Are you socially retarded?

Baaaaaa!
Lighten up: I am joking!!! : )
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:52 pmClarification is not what you were “asking for”. You were in her face and insulted her, claiming it wasn’t funny. Fine, it isn’t your type of humor. So, ignore it. I don’t get why you are attacking her?
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:54 pmGoods? did you say light em up?
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:54 pmNow there’s an idea. Fatboys for all!
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:55 pmGoodscarrier, sheep, eh? Because I respect Zooey? You don’t know what that is, do you? Respect…no, because you have never given it and certainly nobody has ever given it to you.
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:55 pmIf Zooey is the sheperd, then Im a sheep. :)
BTW, Hey, gorn. I believe I attacked you yesterday about a religious America. Sorry about the Nascar Series remarks…thought you were a troll. Sorry.
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:58 pmThank you, RUCerious! Do I get another president for my birthday in 2008? Cool.
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:58 pm#112, JPark: Goodscarrier, if you insult the regulars you are not welcome…clear? Are you socially retarded?
Insult the regulars?
HINT: There’s no seniority on the WEB which is ever expanding and welcoming thousands of newbies by the second.
TP is not like the bar Cheers where everyone knows your name.
Where you guys can sit and act like kings and queens or sheperd and some sheep.
The Web is FREE and WIDE OPEN.
If you can’t stand a question and discussion stay outta the web.
AGAIN: I asked for clarification. You guys make the Bush folks seem wise, open minded, and governed in mind.
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:59 pmSomeone needs to dress ol GI Joe Cheney up in some caumo and ship his ass off to Iraq to fight along side the troops. Little prick. They would friendly fire his ass quicker then you can say Rumsfeld.

Where did I insult her?
Where did I claim it was not funny?
Where did I attack her?
I have no desire at all to attack Zooey.
I *wished* to engage her thoughts.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:02 amGoodscarrier. Ok, you do not respect people who have proven themselves. Gotcha. The web is free and wide open but your disrespect is not appreciated. And if you keep it up I guarantee you it won’t be tolerated for long by the powers that be. It is not THAT free and wide open.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:03 amAGAIN: I asked for clarification.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:04 am#121, JPark: Goodscarrier, sheep, eh? Because I respect Zooey?
HINT: Fold is a word that you provided. Not me.
See #108: Or you can apologize and be welcomed into the fold.
I’d really like to go.
But JPark you keep making nutty posts!!
November 4th, 2006 at 12:05 amGoodscarrier, you just don’t get it, do you? Bush as wise, open minded and governed (not sure what you were going for there)…nope, none of those would describe Bush. Evil, petty and incompetent, yes. And your insults toward Zooey are the same.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:06 amJuan, maybe you are more more objective since you came in late. I think he was just being a jag-off after Zooey made her joke but I will defer to you if you think not…for now.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:09 amOk, never mind. Sorry, Juan. Goods, no matter what, you will never be accepted…anywhere. The fact is you are a jack-ass and while people here may not agree with me you will always be an outsider because of that. If I were in a position to give advice I would say don’t be so combative with those who have similar beliefs.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:12 am#124 Goodscarrier: AGAIN: I asked for clarification.
Nice Rovian tactic!!!
Again: Unplug man. You are losing it.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:13 amI think he was just being a jag-off after Zooey made her joke but I will defer to you if you think not…for now.
Comment by JPark
Well, thanks but thats up to Zoo. Remember, always do as the leader says, JPark. :)
November 4th, 2006 at 12:14 amCome on. Lighten up, everybody, I think we are in the same side. We (well, actually you) need that more than anything this november. Good luck on that…really.
Um, no, I did not accuse you of saying those things about Bush. Try again.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:15 amI DID however equate your attacks on Zooey as Bush-like if that makes you feel better.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:16 amLOL Juan, I was never a good follower.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:17 am#132, JPark: Goods, no matter what, you will never be accepted…anywhere.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:17 amOk, Goods, you believe what you want to believe, you act exactly as you want to act. That is all you.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:19 amGoods, that is the liberal way. We can disagree. Juan doesn’t think you attacked Zooey and you, like a conservative, jump on that statement even though the offended (Zooey) thinks you did. Instead of apologizing to Zoo like you should, you act like a Republican.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:22 am79 - you might want to research the battle dress of the Ancient Greeks.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:23 amJuan C BTW, Hey, gorn.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:25 am# 124 Goodscarrier: AGAIN: I asked for clarification.
You are LOSING it man!!!
November 4th, 2006 at 12:29 am#141 Well said. I am a bit confrontational. I hope your tact works better.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:30 amGoods, I read what I wrote and I can see why you might think I used you words against you. It was not my intention. However, if you say I am Rovian one more time I will not hold back while blasting you.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:32 amHey, um, what about that Cheney guy? What an ass, eh?
Battle dress of the Ancient Greeks, oh yeah…
:-)
November 4th, 2006 at 12:39 am“It may not be popular with the public — it doesn’t matter in the sense that we have to continue the mission and do what we think is right.”
This statement summarises the Bush administration to the T: They will never listen to the people they are supposed to represent and serve, because they -as leaders- know better than the rabble.
For these neo-cons, the public’s expectation is something that needs to be managed rather than taken into consideration when making policy decisions.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:40 amNo problem, Juan, I didn’t see your post. Tell me the thread and I will go read it and have a laugh.

Oops…It was ggibson…sorry, I got confused by the g´s and both of you have been posting a lot lately. I have to apologoze with him, then. Now, were you the one with the: Oral Roberts? … ha ha ha! That was the best comment.
BTW, you may have missed my post a week or so ago where I nominated you for honorary US citizenship in trade for about 10 trolls I would like to see deported.
Just 10? :)
Such a trade would instantly increase the total IQ in the US and decrease the population, so it seems a winner.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:41 amDidnt read it. Thank you very much, but there is a lot to do here in III World Countries. (Not that I contribute significantly, but you know what I mean…) Besides you, progressive, interesting, clever people have your country pretty much under control, as long you organize, IMHO.
Zooey, don’t say Cheney and Greek in the same sentence!! He is no Greek!!! :)
November 4th, 2006 at 12:41 am#141, Briseadh na Faire: Goods-carrier - I believe Bush does in fact have a lot of say over what happens in the Iraqi government.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:41 am#145, JPark: Goods, I read what I wrote and I can see why you might think I used you words against you. It was not my intention. However, if you say I am Rovian one more time I will not hold back while blasting you.

Christ, Goodscarrier, at least you are consistent. You fight with everybody. That is a pretty effective tactic?
November 4th, 2006 at 12:43 amOk, Goodscarrier, I now consider you even with the rest of the trolls. Enjoy.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:47 amZooey, don’t say Cheney and Greek in the same sentence!! He is no Greek!!! :)
Comment by JPark
You did!! At least mine was two different sentences — separated by a blank line!
I’m just trying to change course a little bit…
November 4th, 2006 at 12:48 amJPark, she used separate sentences….separate paragraphs even! And apparently she’s Googled the battle dress of the Ancient Greeks. If you’re wondering how I knew what she’d find, well, my hobby is playing with tin soldiers - recreating historical battles in miniature. Including ancient Greek battles. And the figures are historically accurate.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:48 amkaty, isn’t kinky independent? And isn’t there a Dem candidate?

November 4th, 2006 at 12:51 am#155 Why do you hate the Greeks??? :)

November 4th, 2006 at 12:56 amWhy is it, then, that the Al Dawa party and the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution of Iraq (sic!!) are primarily holding the reins of power Iin Iraq?
Comment by Goodscarrier — November 4, 2006 @ 12:41 am
Well, the US does meddle in Iraq’s internal affairs, to such an extent that the previous Prime Minister, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, resigned after intense US pressure.
Now, the US might not get their way every single time, but American presence is definitely felt in Baghdad. Letting unsavory organisations share the government is a pragmatic approach to running a country.

No, Dipshit Dick, you’re RUNNING our country into the ground!
November 4th, 2006 at 1:22 amAn open letter to George W. Bush,
You, sir, do not deserve the title of ‘President of the United States’.
November 4th, 2006 at 1:23 am169 - yup. But the Greek Hoplites aren’t nearly as much fun to look at as the Egyptian Commander’s harem.

November 4th, 2006 at 1:53 amSo, he doesn’t give a sh$% since they are not running for office and they are doing what is right.
November 4th, 2006 at 3:19 amYou can’t blame Bush or Chenney, God told Bush to go to war and that is that, Gods fault. Lets pray God doesn’t give him any more advice for the sake of America!
November 4th, 2006 at 3:21 amThis comment by Cheney is interesting in that it may reflect what he knows privately between the neocons and presage their intent within the near future to declare martial law and suspend the constitution once and for all. This theory seems supported by their recent flurry of constitutional destruction with the resurrection of the insurrection act, elimination of habeus corpus, legalization of torture and unending incarceration.
:(
November 4th, 2006 at 4:17 amNot to worry, hardly any have found the key, theres plenty of room still =)

November 4th, 2006 at 8:57 pmDocuments: 1999 U.S.

November 4th, 2006 at 9:23 pm#166, Briseadh na Faire: The elected government in Iraq is not holding the reins of power.
Briseadh na Faire: I’ve seen your tactic here before, GC; a reasonable introduction followed by unreasonable attacks. It doesn’t wash. Your Rune is MANN:REVERSED. “you have made many enemies and they are ready to move against you.†feel free to look it up.
