Media Matters has the details.
MSNBC:
NORA O’DONNELL: What about Nancy Pelosi? We were just showing pictures. She would be the speaker — likely be the speaker of the House if Democrats win control. Where’s she been the last week?
Fox News:
STEVE DOOCY: Have you noticed we really haven’t seen much of Nancy Pelosi?
BRIAN KILMEADE (co-host): Nowhere.
typical desperate-scumbag-republican-tactics.
November 3rd, 2006 at 3:51 pmToo much bullshit. I think my head’s going to explode.
November 3rd, 2006 at 3:52 pmNora O’Donnell is the worst kind of hack. Why Fox News hasn’t snapped her up is beyond me.
I’ll bet Keith hates her.
November 3rd, 2006 at 3:53 pmThat damn “liberal” media is at again bashing the republicans for…..
Oh, wait.
November 3rd, 2006 at 3:54 pmYou mean no one has floated that story that Pelosi has been seen selling meth to Ted haggart? Oh that’s right, they haven’t actually seen her.
November 3rd, 2006 at 3:57 pmMaybe Dems should start asking where Dick Cheney has disappeared to the last week or two? You don’t see him on TV much, either!
November 3rd, 2006 at 3:59 pmTelephone, telegraph, tell a FoxSnooze reporter.
That’s how rumors spread. lol
All these right-wing media whores are so desperate that they’re feeding off each other. I wonder how long it will take after the Democrats win back the Congress on Tuesday for all these dittohead, braindead morons to quit spinning and settle back down to earth.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:00 pm[LINK] Who Cares What You Think: The Movie
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:05 pm****Pelosi’s daughter is nearing her due date and Nancy wants to be there for her daughter. I am from UConn and she was supposed to come here to campaign for Joe Courtney, but couldnt because of her daughter, so we were given Ben Affleck instead to make an appearance. Not as good as Pelosi, but still a great crowd pleaser
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:06 pmThere is a perfectly reasonable explanation for lack of media coverage of Mrs. Pelosi……………… She made the mistake of talking about what the Democratic party will do in Iraq and other issues……….so the media ignored her as usual.
Why do you think there was that bill passed at 3 am on a Friday when there was nobody in the house to oppose it…..the “protection of the “dems don’t have a plan” talking point act” ;)
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:07 pmGee, one would think that if the media was all that concerned about Pelosi they would call her up and ask for an interview or something. Or maybe, since they have cameras and journalists and reporters they could go find her and talk with her. OR, even crazier yet, the media could just call her office and ask where she is or what she is doing.
One would think that…but of course the braindead media is proving once again how utterly idiotic and useless they have become. This is like giving air time to Paris HIlton to report a story titled “Why is Paris HIlton getting air time?”
If you ask me, the biggest disconnect isn’t between politicians and the public, or the Republicans with erality or ethics. The biggest disconnect I have ever seen in my life is the media being disconnected from THEMSELVES. Pathetic.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:09 pmThere is a perfectly reasonable explanation for lack of media coverage of Mrs. Pelosi……………… She made the mistake of talking about what the Democratic party will do in Iraq and other issues……….so the media ignored her as usual.
Why do you think there was that bill passed at 3 am on a Friday when there was nobody in the house to oppose it…..the “protection of the “dems don’t have a plan” talking point act” ;)
sorry if this double posts
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:09 pmHas Fox noticed they haven’t been in reality for awhile?
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:11 pmOK Nigel. What will they do?
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:11 pmI guess we know which web sites they read.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:13 pmIf Pelosi were in front of the news camera every day, they would criticize her for being too forward and “in your face.” She been making campaign speeches, but the news channels care not to cover it, so they follow Drudge’s lead and say she’s underground somewhere.
I love the last quote; BRIAN KILMEADE (co-host): Nowhere
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:14 pmmeat puppets…
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:16 pmThe mainstream media do not want to talk about Democrats, nor feature them on their interviews – they might hear a Democratic idea or plan that makes sense. They might not be able to criticize them in person. They’d rather play their own game and knock the Democrats – it’s just who they are.
Liberal media my fanny!
BTW, my local radio station that carries Air America and others sent out an Email to listeners today. It seems that people from around the country are threatening their advertisers because they choose to advertise their product or service on this radio station.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:17 pmThe stormtroopers are out there, and they intend to eliminate any voice of opposition to their own.
I’m saddened. Perhaps even to the delight of some here either through their opposition to my positions or just a dislike to my communication methodology or style. Regardless, though, I am sad.
The “news†stories of the day are replete with tales of political antics and gamesmanship leading up to your midterm elections. Then there are the tales du jour of the duplicitous activities of your moral icons and religious idols with people either shocked at the revelations or elated at the exposure of the hypocrisy. One’s reaction, of course, is dependant upon one’s political affiliations.
The punditries on both sides are frenetic for one reason or another. Either busily demonizing or lionizing one person or another for whatever absurd or irrelevant reasoning or, with either misguided or feigned passion, explaining how their side is great and the other side is horrific and will be the cause for the end to you all. Each side of the political version of the continental divide are continually pointing out how the other is just a gaggle of cowards and traitors while sanctimoniously implying that their side and its champions are merely saints and saviors humbly serving the interests and needs of people.
Then there are the economic discussions about who holds the most green paper (or digital records of such) and where that paper goes and who is hoarding and who is lacking and who is stealing it and who is making it, somehow always coming down to the implication that the holders of it are somehow more righteous and deserving and “important†than those who don’t. And, of course, there are the dalliances into the scientific conversations which are always rigidly biased and bereft of open-mindedness and, inexplicably, dominated by the unqualified. The irony, of course, is completely lost on the participants.
Yet as of this writing seven (7) of your militarized citizens, most of whom are young and just embarking upon the journey we call life, were killed today in the abomination that you call “Operation Iraqi Freedomâ€. An operation that no one here, regardless of your political leanings, can truly and with complete accuracy describe in its reasoning, objectives, and justifications. Yet even with the recognized nebulous of understanding, it continues. This should be unfathomable, yet it is happening before our very eyes. Remember Vietnam? Remember “never againâ€? Who could have imagined that when Americans said “never again†that what they meant was “for nowâ€?
Also of this writing, fifty six (56) dead bodies have been found today in Baghdad alone. This news will not make headlines, nor will it receive any substantial coverage. It won’t because it is not news anymore as it has been going on for over three (3) years now. You have to dig hard and deep to get any information about the happenings in Iraq except, that is, when some politician makes another surprise visit there. But here’s a question for you, when was the last time that names were attached to the “bodies They are no longer people they are just corpses, mere numbers and statistics for some scoreboard somewhere. Yet each and every one had a mother and a father, relatives, perhaps a spouse and children, and hopes and dreams and laughs not yet laughed and tears not yet cried and love not yet expressed.
I am saddened by the lack of humanity that I amateurishly describe here but that volumes could be written to describe. No one will write them, though, because it would be too depressing to write and most assuredly too depressing to read. Nonetheless I sit here in my nice cozy office, writing at my nifty computer, and tonight I will eat a satisfying supper and eventually go to sleep in my warm and safe bed. I am saddened because I am certain that I am not doing enough. My words, including these, mostly fall upon deaf ears. And tomorrow by the time I wake up and have my morning coffee, approximately five (5) of your young soldiers and more than a hundred (100+) Iraqis will have died in Iraq that day.
And your president will tell you how wonderful your economy is and how perfect he is.
And another previously inconceivable scandal will erupt.
And Wal-Mart and McDonalds will be busy.
And the cheerleaders will cheer.
And the crowd will applaud or jeer depending upon how the score on the scoreboard reflects upon their team.
And I will work on a plan because this sadness must be temporary and I have allowed it to go on for too long.
May peace and joy engulf us all.
And may we honor the dead, especially those whose names were forgotten before they were even buried.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:20 pmWhere has Bush been recently? Anyone seen him?
Nowhere.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:20 pmWhy the heck does the right care where she is? Do they want her to stump even more? What’s the angle they are trying to work here. I must be dense for not seeing this.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:21 pmNote to ya’ll – the dialog posted is from Fox & Friends – a morning show where the combined IQ of hosts is less than your average doorknob.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:21 pmThis is “The Republican Noise Machine” in action exacty as David Brock described it in his great book. I highly recommend it to everyone (especially those who wonder how so many people could get their facts wrong so often. Hint: Someone intentionally wanted it that way.)
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:22 pmGee, or the media could even surf to Nancy’s official website and read where she’s been and what she’s released statements about:
http://www.house.gov/pelosi/press/press.html
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:26 pm
As if anyone has ever found Dick Cheneys dungeon where it is said they refill his heart with cold and darkness.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:28 pmYup, she’s nowhere to be found, probably in Tora Bora discussing what to do after the election.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:29 pmNancy Pelosi, as a Congresswoman, is running for reelection next Tuesday, right? And as such, she has a fully staffed campaign office, right? Did Norah O’Donnell bother to CALL the campaign office and INQUIRE where Nancy Pelosi has been the last week? Or would that be too much like journalism?
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:30 pmIs this the GOP version of Where is Waldo?
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:34 pmAnd what do you know. One minute after my post hit, in my Inbox was an item from Media Matters about this very thing. You can read it here.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:35 pmHey where has Dubya been?
Vacation!
What was Dubya doing when he ignored the PDB?
Vacation!
What Record has Dubya Broken
Vacation!
Very Good!
August 2006
“Bush has spent more than a year of his presidency” at his ranch in Crawford, Texas. On August 19, 2005, “he broke Ronald Reagan’s record of 335 days for America’s most vacationed president and went on to take the longest presidential vacation in 36 years,”
Our Commander in Chief….Lame.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:35 pmYou know, seriously, it is time to choose a new name for our corporate/govenment owned media. Mainstream Media gives them way too much. For one thing, it implies that the mainstream, the majority of Americans swallow their inceasingly insane bull. I do not accept them. I do not see their shilling for this obscenity of a government “Main” anything. MAIMESCREAM MEDIA or something similar might be better. I’m sure someone else can come up with something that would stick……..really.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:35 pmDrudge, the same lying hack that spread untrue rumours about John Kerry having an affair before 2004 election yet dolts like O’Donnell and Dooschy use his slanderous and sketchy and out fabricated stories.
Heckuva job asswipes.

November 3rd, 2006 at 4:39 pm#3 “I’ll bet Keith hates her”
I’ve honestly never watched Keith Olbermann (assuming that’s who you meant), because I refuse to watch television news (except LinkTV). Then a friend sent me this youtube link where he slaps down that windbag O’Rielly. If he does this kind of thing regularly, I think I’ll be a lifelong fan.

whorepirate press mebbe?
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:44 pmI don’t think the media is government owned, per say, but the corporate people that do own own it allow the politicians to use it as a rhetoricical device instead of an informative one. ‘Fair and Balanced’ TV is not informative. It’s like watching Jerry Springer, drunk, while having a politician pick your pocket.
Whorepirate [Corporate] media.
CorspeOrape media lol…
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:47 pmSame can be said for Ferragamo Rice – Where’s she been as Iran is shooting off missiles in the Gulf? Nobody questions when Uncle Dick hides in the bunker for months at a clip…
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:47 pmThe problem is that Pelosi hasn’t been on Limbaugh and Hannity, which is where the MSM gets all its news.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:48 pmIf he does this kind of thing regularly, I think I’ll be a lifelong fan.
He does, and you will. Whenever O’Reilly goes his typical one-step-too-far, Olbermann is right there to point it out and tell him why he’s wrong. If you saw near the end of the show where they have the nominees for “Worst Person in the World”, O’Reilly is a frequent medalist. It’s hard to think of a week that’s gone by lately wherehe didn’t win at least one “medal”.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:51 pm#38, thanks Wayne, I’ll be sure to tune in regularly.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:55 pmI see the media is helping BLIND PEOPLE by giving them a job…DUH!
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:56 pmLimabaugh is so AM.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:57 pmThose dishonenst idiots would criticize Pelosi for being too visible or for being invisible. It doesn’t matter to them, they’ll make up a frame to portray Pelosi’s behavior in the worst possible light. That’s the modern GOP- the party of manufactured scandal and outrage.
November 3rd, 2006 at 4:58 pmThose dishonest folks would criticize Pelosi for being too visible or for being invisible. It doesn’t matter to them, they’ll make up a frame to portray Pelosi’s behavior in the worst possible light. That’s the modern GOP- the party of manufactured scandal and outrage.
November 3rd, 2006 at 5:00 pm#33 – If you enjoyed that one try this one. One of his best in my opinion.
November 3rd, 2006 at 5:01 pmOur Scorched Earth Dear Leader
November 3rd, 2006 at 5:06 pmO’Donnell is a mother’f'n idiot. She’s eye candy for simpletons. They lick every hair in place. She couldn’t have been more pleased with herself trying to squirm up Lynn Cheney’s inflamed sphincter, like some kind of slithering tumor trying to find its way home. Great powers of the universe, how I hate all of these fools.
November 3rd, 2006 at 5:14 pmI’d say that 4 days before an election where Pelosi is running as the incumbant that she’s probably in her district campaigning… just as all the other candidates are.
O’Donnell has gone drastically down hill over the years. I’m shocked she’s still on MSNBC. If it wasn’t for Matthews allowing her to spread her lies without challenge, she would have been tossed off the network years ago.
Thankfully, Olbermann rarely uses her for commentary. He probably doesn’t have time for the footnotes of clarification he’d have to give after each of her reports.
November 3rd, 2006 at 5:16 pm#44 – Wow – I don’t think he left anything out! Thanks for the link.
I don’t suppose there is any chance Olbermann will get to interview the president?
November 3rd, 2006 at 5:18 pmlol – they think drudge has his “finger on the pulse” of anything aside from rush’s pharmaceutical erection – lol, lazy, mediocre journalists…..though nora is pretty hot…certainly better than mann coulter, whose brow looks more simian than ever in here recent round of “free publicity for being a shocking b*tch/freak” appearances
November 3rd, 2006 at 5:23 pmCZ1: “Gee, or the media could even surf to Nancy’s official website and read…”
CZ, that would involve research rather than going to a cocktail party. One reason the corporate media may not be to anxious to get Pelosi on screen is lately, when she’s there, she tells us her plans. The current script is that she doesn’t have a plan, so that messes things up.
And, since we’re talking about Pelosi, the Iraq and Afganistan Veterans of America (IAVA) gives Pelosi a “B+” for her voting record in support of the troops. If Democrats take the House, Pelosi will be speaker instead of Hastert. The veterans have given Hastert an “F.” Go check out what the veterans think, rednecks. You may be surprised.
November 3rd, 2006 at 5:28 pmMikie…in our dreams Olbermann will interview bush…
November 3rd, 2006 at 5:32 pmMary Matalin just mentioned it, too, on Wolf Blitzer’s show. “Where is Nancy Pelosi? Rush Limbaugh put out an Amber Alert for her.”
November 3rd, 2006 at 6:03 pmI hope she’s somewhere preparing subpoenas.
November 3rd, 2006 at 6:16 pmIf the media think Rep Pelosi is hiding, maybe it’s time they went out looking for her.
The media complaining that Pelosi hasn’t been on the news lately, is nothing but a self-fulfilling prophecy.
November 3rd, 2006 at 6:30 pmWhores, all of them.
November 3rd, 2006 at 8:00 pmOk, I was wrong about her not being up for reelection but she is. Honest mistake since she has no chance of losing. Again, I question why the right thinks she has to give them a daily update considering she is a shoe-in to win and Congress in on hiatus.
By the way, Whora O’Donnell should shut her mouth. What a waste of oxygen.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:28 pmBy the way…come on Drudge, take it like a man…oh, never mind, you have.
November 3rd, 2006 at 9:46 pmWait, Steve Doocey was in on this? Isn’t that Drudge’s lover?
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:02 pm#39 Mikey
November 3rd, 2006 at 10:25 pmYou might like to know Olbermann’s ratings are up 67% this year.
He is the only one on cable TV telling truth to power.
This is “The Republican Noise Machine†in action exacty as David Brock described it in his great book. I highly recommend it to everyone (especially those who wonder how so many people could get their facts wrong so often. Hint: Someone intentionally wanted it that way.)
That is a great read. Also read his other book “Blinded by the Right- the conscience of an ex-conservative). Another book I highly recommend is “Media Control” by Noam Chomsky. The title may be inaccurate, but it if you look up his books, you should see one similarly named. :)
