George Bush deserves to have serious nightmares for the rest of his miserable life. Georgie, you are responsible for all of these deaths because you decided as the great decider to take this country into a war that is immoral, and illegal and violates every principle of deceny known to man. Sleep well!
Rather than a body count – create a tribute page – allow a sort by name, home state/city and deceased date. Would not have the inpersonal feeling that the “body count” engenders.
Remember – you may not agree with the war, but those are still your troops.
(Mine are in Afghanistan – and as it was a UN requested mission, I have no qualms about our participation… )
Li’l Georgie has never had nightmares. He’s never felt responsible for anything. That’s because he’s never been held responsible for anything–he ditched the National Guard, he ran several businesses into the ground and got bailed out by daddy’s millionaire buddies, etc. Don’t worry, he’ll skate free of any accountability for all the death, destruction & financial ruin of this country as well, just you wait & see.
This is what Bush and all the BushBot Republicans wanted. They created it. Yet they did nothing to stop it once it became evident that the Iraq invasion was a disaster.
Veterans for Peace had a replica done of those who have been killed in Iraq at our annual convention last August in Seattle, calling it Arlington West. It was a sea of crosses and placards laid across part of the campus at the University of the Washington, with the names, at that time, of over 2400 Americans who had been killed in Iraq. A similar exhibition should also be done in every state in this country, in order to remind people that those who die in a war are not merely numbers but real people.
Similarly, the networks and cable news shows in this country should not hold back in showing those who are killed and grievoulsy wounded in this unnecessary occupation of Iraq. If they did, then the hope is that more people would finally realize how horrible war truly is and that there would be more outrage at those who have allowed this carnage to persist.
General Tommy Franks said: “We don’t do body counts”, in other words, your dead son/daughter isn’t worth counting….he knew, and we knew why….the bush gang wants it ‘Guilt free’…..sorry gang,it will never go away…
Does anyone else think that if the rumors of 300+ killed at Camp Falcon earlier are true that Rummy et al are now adding two or three of those KIA’s to the daily totals during late October and November to avoid having to release the fact that the 300+ were all killed in one incident?
#17 – anything is possible with these media/information controlling ReichWingNuts.
I would sure like to know what happened when that series of massive explosions inside the Green Zone were first reported, then we saw nothing about it shortly thereafter.
…I just read somewhere that some of the families of dead American soldiers are visiting the Iraqi north to see ‘what their sons and daughters died for’. If that’s the goal of the visit, then, “Ladies and gentlemen- to your right is the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, to your left is the Dawry refinery… Each of you get this, a gift bag containing a 3 by 3 color poster of Al Sayid Muqtada Al Sadr (Long May He Live And Prosper), an Ayatollah Sistani t-shirt and a map of Iran, to scale, redrawn with the Islamic Republic of South Iraq. Also… Hey you! You- the female in the back- is that a lock of hair I see? Cover it up or stay home.â€
unreal…it could make last month’s carnage look like nothing

November 7th, 2006 at 10:23 amEvery person that voted Republican in 2002 and 2004 is responsible for these deaths.
In 2000, I can understand that some people still didn’t know how bad Bush was, but there is NO excuse for being fooled in 2002 or 2004.

November 7th, 2006 at 12:14 pmNineteen dead in six days. At this rate, November will be almost as bad as October was.
Happy election day!
