DeLay To 110th Congress: ‘Make My Day’»

Moments ago on MSNBC, Chris Matthews asked former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) about what he would do to “stop” the 110th Congress from investigating the misdeeds of the 109th Congress and the administration. “My only answer to that,” DeLay replied, “is make my day.”

Transcript:

MATTHEWS: How do you prevent people like Charlie Rangel, the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee if the Democrats win, from getting his way? Henry Waxman would love to go after the energy business down there in the oil patch down where you live. People like, oh who else, Conyers might get even more aggressive and go after impeachment. I can think of a lot of guys. Let’s think Dave Obey on Appropriations might like to get a little feisty. How do you stop a majority and make it into what you call a lame duck majority?

DELAY: You’re exactly right, Chris, as to what they’re going to do. And my only answer to that is make my day –

MATTHEWS: I was just teasing you Congressman. I don’t believe they’re going to do it, but I know you do.

DELAY: Make my day.

Pink Pantys and Desert Tents will make your day Tom!

  7. Sharon Cox Says:

Hay Chris, is this the best you can do.? Guess so…

  8. SpudgeBoy Says:

MATTHEWS: I was just teasing you Congressman. I don’t believe they’re going to do it, but I know you do.

Hey Chris, DeLay isn’t a Congressman anymore. He resigned in dishonor after being indicted. You don’t have to show the would be criminal any extra respect.

  9. charlietuna Says:

Obviously delay was still under the effects of the meth that he snorted before tweety gave him a blow job. That tweety is such a media whore and delay is his favorite sex object.

  10. james risser Says:

odd, i thought tom was already in prison?

  11. DieNowForPeace Says:

Your “wish” is our “command”, asshole.

  12. lightning Says:

Tom DeLay is/was a cancer on our government. I glad that he was forced out and publicly embarressed. He needs to be further marginalized……..maybe an investigation would do the trick……it would at least “make my day”!

  13. cynic Says:

    Tommy: MAKE MY LICENSE PLATE.

  14. Tom Says:

Tommy, Tommy, Tommy…your day is long past over.

That is what you share with GDumbya. His day is over, too, but he’s just too phuckin’ stoopid to realize it. So are you, Tommy.

  15. Leslie Pool Says:

I still don’t understand how “make my day” answers the Nitwit’s question.

  16. ohdave Says:

    Strickland wins!!!!

  17. El Tonno Says:

There should be a law against TV airing extremely offensive footage of corrupt-to-the-core politicos with an attitude.

Maybe he should check into the Fletcher Memorial Home

  18. Karim Says:

To Mr. DeLay…Orange is so not your color. But it will do.

  19. trueblue Says:

    Delay,
    You’re already making my day!
    :)

    Goodbye, Repubs.
Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!

  20. Tom Says:

Leslie — think “bring ‘em on!”

It’s Tommy Delay’s version of GDumbya’s brainless bravado.

Of course, it doesn’t answer Matthews’ question. I have never heard Tommy answer a question directly. At least, he could have the decency to take a page out of Tricky Dicky’s playbook and say “I am not a crook”.

  21. Crabgrass Says:

    His response doesn’t make sense.
I think he meant to say “Stay the course.”

  22. Republicans are the fear and smear party Says:

    Don’t worry, Tom, we will.

  23. SpudgeBoy Says:

So, Tom DeLay is a Cut and Run Congressman? He cut and run righ the hell outta Congress.

  24. trueblue Says:

This is simply a pat on the collective MA’s back, but
it’s 8:07 and they’ve already declared Deval Patrick (D) winner tonight for Governor.
I am one happy woman tonight!
    :)

  25. NoMoreRepublicanTrash Says:

Why doesn’t he make our day and commit suicide.

  26. Kat Says:

Oh thank you, LMAO - between #13 - “Tommy: MAKE MY LICENSE PLATE”… and #2 - “what a douchebag, is he even relevent any more?”… I got the much needed laugh after a truly nerve racking day, waiting for poll results to come in!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

  27. Above the Clouds Says:

Delay is a graduate of the Richard Nixon school for the politically insane.

  28. nostrafarious Says:

Why are we interviewing criminals on TV?

  29. Badmoodman Says:

I’ve worked with Clint Eastwood, I know Clint Eastwood, and believe me Mr. DeLay, you’re no Clint Eastwood.

  30. Reno and Its Discontents»Blog Archive » Tom Delay: Make My Day Punk Democrats Says:

[…] Tom “make my day” Delay is one fifth of the reason the Republicans are going to lose tonight (the other 4/5ths are Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Abramoff). Delay is the emblem of the lobbyist controlled congress–the same congress that the American people are kicking out tonight. He’s also clearly delusional because he seems to think he’s still running things, speaking in the present tense as he is. […]

  39. wisedup Says:

MSNBC…please put SOCK in mathews MOUTH!…..
bubba will teach tom the ropes….

  40. osage Says:

DeLay still thinks of himself as a political victim. He doesn’t believe he did anything wrong. He’s still trying to deal the cards when no one even wants him in the game. Arrogantly challenging a Democratic House majority demonstrates how deeply self-destructive and unrepentant he is.

  41. Jeanne Says:

Whose brilliant idea was it to put DeLay on as a commentator? The guy is a crook. He’s a thug and MSNBC pays him to tell us what he thinks.

What are you a friggin’ three year old.

Or did you forget that you were posting your bull crud on a web site where people know facts.

    Comment by Spudge_Boy — November 7, 2006 @ 10:36 pm

Again, compasionate one, I apologize, I realize how hard an honest apology must be for you to hear. I realize how difficult it must be for someone who made a true mistake, and realizes it, is for you to bear.

If you would like and it would make you finally be able to put this difficult issue behind you (Which I deeply regret), I will post my I AM SORRY FOR MAKING A POST THAT WAS NON FACTUAL. I ALSO APOLOGIZE FOR NOT THINKING BEFORE I HIT THE SUBMIT KEY AND GIVING THE IMPRESSION THAT I THOUGHT DELAY WAS STILL IN CHARGE.

I am more than willing to admit when I screw up. Which I have, I will continue to admit that mistake Feel free to continue to slam me on it, because noone’s realization of a poorly worded statement means anything.

  43. AlanDownunder Says:

“Make my day”? I guess “bring it on” was already taken.

  44. Tom Delay Says:

    L-O-S-E-R

Why is DeLay even on TV?

  45. Fade Says:

Delay’s a criminal- and he stayed in office just long enough to allow him to KEEP HIS CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS from Texans who thought he was going to Run. What an absolute piece of sh%t.

What next? Is Chris Matthews going to interview OJ on how his hunt for the real killer is going?

Matthews should be out of a job after his bizarre bs and attacking Scarborough yesterday.
