Do those of you who refer to the republican party as Nazis know who the real Nazis were? what the real Nazis did? what they stood for?
Comment by stan — November 7, 2006 @ 5:20 pm

Yup. Here are some quotes from the head Nazi’s mouth… they sound a lot like GW Bush, don’t they???

You're an idiot. Just because both men believed in God and had faith doesn't mean that they are similar in their actions. So, in your argument, all people who believe in God are essentially Hitler, simply because they cherish the foundations of the church? Did or has W persecuted millions of Jews? In short, did his faith carry him to an extreme hate of a certain type of people to the point where they should be eliminated? The answer is no.

If anyone is more like Hitler it seems to be you and other far-left folks who want W and those who think like him wiped off the map - kinda like Hitler did and Ahdmeinijad wants to now.

Think about it.

I always thought that everyone would have some kind of picture ID until I was at the post office a few days ago and a senior citizen was there to pick up a package, without a photo ID. Even though she had quite a few things with her name on it, SS card, Checks, CC, the supervisor had to sign off on the package for her to have it. In a small town like mine, I wonder how many other seniors (women) don't have photo ID, having never driven a car?

I live in the metro Atlanta area. I voted today, and I signed the voter registration form which consisted of:

1. Name
2. Address
3. Date of birth

I then proceeded to give the registration form to an election official. She immediately asked to see my driver's license.

I'm not lawyer, but it appears to me that asking potentional voters for their driver's license is an infraction of Georgia voting laws.

If this is true, all Georgia election results are null and void. How could they not be? It would be interesting to know how many potentional voters were not allowed to vote, if they did not present an ID?

I voted today around 3 pm, here in Tucson. We still have the type of paper ballot where you fill in the ovals, then feed the ballot into a machine.

There was a guy standing at the doorway who asked me if my address matched that on my picture ID. I replied yes, and he signalled me to go ahead. I was required to show my ID to the guy handling the sheets where you sign.

Arizona just passed a law that your address on your picture ID (almost always a driver's license) has to be current. I think that they do provisional ballots for people whose ID has an old address, but I'm not sure. I didn't think to ask.

In any case, I had no trouble. Two of the poll workers were of Hispanic extraction and since I speak some Spanish, was joking with them in that language. I filled in my ovals, with my sample ballot in hand, as there were like 20 propositions on the ballot. I saw that one of the Ohio pols, a Repub, had trouble getting the machine to take her ballot, but the machine here took mine just fine.

As for requiring ID, I would be ok with that IF it's free and if they are offered in multiple places easy to get to. I also agree with others posting, that there is no big problem with voter fraud where someone votes under someone else's name. The big problem is with Diebold. And illegals aren't out there voting. DUH. They're too afraid of the INS.

While I was voting today in Cherokee County GA around 2:30PM EST, one of the Poll Workers said, "We just got a call, and they're telling us we have to remove the ID Required from anything on paper". The call came in as I was signing in, I had to sign an Affadavit that I'm eligible to vote in this county.

I told him that I didn't need Identification to vote, and he looked at me like he had just been awakened. After a few seconds of his unthought, I just dropped my drivers' license on the desk so I could get on with things.

I found it interesting that at 2:30PM they got the call saying they had to cover over anything that said that ID was required in order to vote. ("We have to mark it out, or black it our of anything printed"). I live in a very southern Red / Evangellical county.

Just wanted to post it for the record in case anything comes up. I hate living in the South.

Yes I felt unclean voting on a Diebold machine! At the last you touch the screen to record your votes, and it says on the screen completed, then the access card pops out, but there is absolutely NO evidence that your votes are counted, or they could be flipped/switched to GOP candidates. I think the Diebold machines should be taken to shooting ranges and used for target practice > they are overpriced pieces of crap!

Regarding KEVIN, the issue is simply that American citizens are not required to carry a picture ID in order to be American citizens... therefore, the state cannot require citizens to obtain a picture ID (at their expense) before they can exercise their right to vote.

If you think it's a good idea to require a picture ID before allowing a person to vote, then you need to first require all American citizens to have/carry some form of picture ID... National ID card, maybe... and good luck with that.

Great, $67 to vote is still too much.

It lasts ten years. That's $6.70/year. Although I don't think we need a national ID which was the point of mentioning the passport.

Today Christians ... stand at the head of [this country]... I pledge that I never will tie myself to parties who want to destroy Christianity .. We want to fill our culture again with the Christian spirit ... We want to burn out all the recent immoral developments in literature, in the theater, and in the press - in short, we want to burn out the *poison of immorality* which has entered into our whole life and culture as a result of *liberal excess* during the past ... (few) years.

Yup. Here are some quotes from the head Nazi's mouth... they sound a lot like GW Bush, don't they???

I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord's work. [Adolph Hitler, Speech, Reichstag, 1936]

There is a road to freedom. Its milestones are Obedience, Endeavor, Honesty, Order, Cleanliness, Sobriety, Truthfulness, Sacrifice, and love of the Fatherland. [Message, signed Hitler, painted on walls of concentration camps; Life, August 21, 1939]

Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without a religious foundation is built on air; consequently, all character training and religion must be derived from faith . . . we need believing people.
Do those of you who refer to the republican party as Nazis know who the real Nazis were? what the real Nazis did? what they stood for? Talk about ignorant.

Instead of throwing insults at the Republican Party (and those who have written to express their own, though it does not meet with yours) why not find out where that sign is and take it down (and did it ever cross any of your minds that a fellow left advocate placed the sign up and snapped the photo? I'm not suggesting that is what happened, only that it's possible. Instead you are doing exactly what Chester (49) said and Nancy Pelosi alluded to a few days ago.... Essentially, that either the Democrats win or the Republicans cheated. You've succesfully given yourselves an out - something to complain about for the next two years. Isn't it possible that you lost in 2000 and in 2004? if your answer is no, I feel sorry that you have such a defeatist attitude and think so highly of yourself. Of course, every liberal plays the game fair, isn't that right? And every liberal knows what is best for the country, isn't that right? And everyone who supports the war or marriage is an out-of-date fear-mongerer, right?

I suggest more contemplation time for ALL of us. Let's all move to the middle where we can hear each other instead of some of you shouting from the far ends of the sprectrum, where it's hard to hear with any clarity.

Thank you.

Hon, you’re getting ripped off. The passport fee is $67:
