Good. The entire House GOP leadership needs to go…They betrayed the Reagan/Gingrich Revolution and bear much responsibility for last night’s “thumping.” Go away, Denny.
Could this be what they mean by “cut and run”?
Be very, very wary of Boehner………..
My advise to the new leadership in Congress is to meticulously and extensively build the criminal cases against all of the outgoing Cabinet members, and culpable Legislators, to wait patiently for the end of Dubious’ reign before bringing them to trial.
In large part it was the post Nixon pardons which allowed many of these goons to attain the power they lost yesterday.

Here is what Limpballs had to say

#17 Actually, Boo-Dog, you are incorrect….as usual. I never predicted the Republicans would hold the House. Indeed, I said that history indicated the GOP would indeed lost at least one house. In fact, during the Foley scandal, I wrote numerous postings saying that Hastert and the House GOP leadership should resign, that they had gotten arrogant, and that if the GOP lost the midterms, the responsibility would be their’s alone.
Here ya go, Boo-Dog. I accept your retraction.
#27….I have steeled myself for that possibility. History indicates at least one of the houses will go to the Dems. Even the great and extremely popular Ronald Reagan saw the Senate go Democratic during his second-term, mid-term elections in 1986.

This disgusting incident is SO going to turn off the base of the party, keeping so many religious conservatives home on Election Day, that it is not even a question any more — The GOP loses both houses of Congress…and deservedly so. But the political consequences are secondary. The main concern is that poor kid who came to D.C. to have the experience of a lifetime and see first-hand how our government works, and instead was subject to vile and demeaning harassment from this pervert and predator.
Cheney must be hiding in Wyoming for another reason > my bet since Rummy resigned, then it means that Cheney is with his lesbian daughter deciding the best way for him to resign too. Hunting trip is just a cover, so Cheney will announce his resignation claiming health reasons. Bush baby is being left behind to take entire blame for Iraq fiasco and to be tried as a war criminal too. Rummy and Cheney are getting away like banditos > lol.
On a political level, because this incident shows how the arrogance of power corrupts. Hastert and other members of the GOP leadership thought they could “handle†or “finesse†the situation, seemingly without giving any thought to the human costs of their willful inaction. I have long championed term limits for members of the House and the Senate so as to keep this kind of institutional rot away from Congress. Hastert and Foley and God knows who else have let this country down, have let the hopes of true conservatives down, and, most importantly, let the hopes of this child and his family down.
Inexcusable. Resign, Mr. Speaker. Take responsibility for what transpired on your watch.

Hi, Exley. How you doin’. Like your bitter pill you had to swallow this morning? Yeah, I know, the Senate isn’t in the bag yet, but you know what? Right now, at this moment in time, I don’t care. You are now the laughing stock of this blog. Why are you here? Redstate is waiting. Go. You’ll like it there. Besides, shouldn’t you be listening to Rash Limburger for your talking points of the week? How’re you guys gonna spin Tuesday.
I just proudly put my little American Flag back up outside my door here at work. The USA once again is a Nation of Laws…and if the Dems are smart, they’ll keep it that way. Exley, it wasn’t your base who lost you the election. Guess who it was?
ME. You know what I’m registered as? An INDEPENDANT. It’s my people you lost. So you know what? If the Dems are strong performers in 2006 to 2008, clean up the crap, make us respected in the world again, reign in the rediculous spending (even if it means raising taxes), and act like center-left people to counter the hard-right policies that have torn our nation apart for the last 6 years, you have many more of these days in your future. How’s it feel, Exley? I hope you like the bitter taste of defeat. Now you know how the Dems and us Independants feel. It’s nice to be on the winning side again.
So go back to wallowing in your sorrow and throwing your darts at your picture of Clinton tacked on the wall. The Dems will begin the process of running this country properly.
#41 Welcome Jeremy…Well, you are right. “It’s nice to be on the winning side again.”Oh, I am sure of it….I have been on both sides and losing is not fun. But I also understand that this is the way it goes in politics. Ya win some and ya lose some. Plus, as I demonstrated above, I was pretty certain the GOP would take a big hit in this election anyway, so, I am hardly shocked. Now, we must move forward and get ready to join the battle anew in 2008.
Your posting contains the necessary: If the Dems are strong performers in 2006 to 2008,…That’s a big “if,” my friend. We shall see.
Remember in 1986, the Democrats took over the Senate from GOP control and many people were sure that in 1988 the Dems would also capture the White House. And what happened? In 1988, Republican candidate George H.W. Bush was overwhelmingly elected president.
So, let us see what happens over the next two years. It should be very interesting. But rest ssured, Jeremy, I will be here discussing these matters at TP all along the way.
Guys, gals, I’m just as happy as anyone about the election results and the fact that Rumsfeld has resigned, but please don’t make us all look like asses. #45 – ” In 1988, Republican candidate George H.W. Bush was overwhelmingly elected president.”
Exley, I don’t consider a 53% to 45% an overwhelming election. In fact, it’s relatively underwhelming!
Overwhelming is Nixon’s 60% compared to McGovern’s 37%.
Overwhelming is Johnson’s 61% compared to Goldwater’s 35%.
Overwhelming is Roosevelt’s 60% compared to Landon’s 36%.
For something to be “overwheling” I’d say it needs to be above 60% for the winner. A difference of 8% is quite underwhelming.
Good ‘o fatboy Has-tard the basterd will not be in power any longer.
Regarding: #45 – †In 1988, Republican candidate George H.W. Bush was overwhelmingly elected president.â€
I can say, one that lived through that election Roger Ales Lee Atwater (Roves brain) used the same trademark Republican dirty tricks against Dukakis that they use now. The difference is that the Democrats not knowing how to respond to this type of politicing found themselves always on the defensive and thus no real articulated message. What really turned the race was Dukakis reply to the question from Bernie Shaw: asked whether he would favor the death penalty for someone who had raped and murdered wife, Kitty. “No, I do not,” Dukakis replied and went on to describe the reasons for his long-standing opposition to capital punishment.
He came across as not being sincere. People voted for the lesser of two evils in thier eye’s at the time. Your point isn’t valid.
I tend to look more at actual votes rather than electoral votes when considering presidential elections. But I will concede that Pres. HW Bush’s win was decisive.
If the Democrats remove the Republican gag from around Sibel Edmonds mouth and threat of jail so that she can tell the truth in public, Dennis Hastert will be tried and found guilty of treason for working as a foreign agent on Turkey’s behalf!
