  4. Yachts and Lattes Says:

Can somebody photoshop Rummy’s head onto that statue of Saddam Hussein as it was being pulled down? That’s how I feel right now.

  5. Parrotlover77 Says:

Yet despite Rummy resigning the DAY AFTER the elections where previously Bush was saying he was on until the end of his term, all we hear on the conservative main stream media is how “extreme liberal” Pelosi will have a hard time pushing a “liberal” agenda because of how “moderate” the new democrats are. Yea, right. The only thing standing in Pelosi’s way is Bush’s veto. There are no “extreme liberal” policies that she’s trying to push through. Raising the minimum wage, stop Big Oil windfalls, and protecting the environment are extreme? Gimme a break!

  6. Heterodoxy Says:

Mr. President, it is Madame Speaker Pelosi. Show some respect for the position and stop calling her Nancy Pelosi dumbass.

You know what you call someone who goes back on his word….A PUNK…and all those right wing nut jobs who villified us as being unpatriotic and weak for not blindly supporting this war should take a long look in the mirror….Cause if he was a real man with real cajones he would have said screw the Dems and the upcoming perps walks…I AM KEEPING RUMSFELD…that is what a man would have done….Get his punk ass out of office

  8. Republicans are the fear and smear party Says:

“Rummy, you’ve done a heck of a job…getting republicans thrown out of the House and Senate.”

  9. Parrotlover77 Says:

So where are the trolls that say “Democrats never win” today?

  10. Heterodoxy Says:

#6, Well said. You would think those bloviating con talking heads would acknowledge their own judgement and internal compass is off. Actions will show she has leadership and is more centrist then they assume.

They are irrelevent chatter. Tune out the loser Cons

  11. dlet Says:

If he would have done this months ago it probably would have saved a few seats in Congress for the Repubs. Thanks for being the arrogant a-holes that you are Bush Co. They only have themselves to blame.

  12. Yachts and Lattes Says:

I’m listening to the press conference right now…Bush basically admitted that he had decided Rumsfeld would go after the election before he told the reporters that Rummy was on for the duration. He answered that question twice. Despite the fact that many Republicans in campaigns were calling for Rumsfeld to go, Bush decided that not to throw this bone to his own party.

He also just threw Karl Rove under the bus, saying that he lost the reading contest to Rove because he (Bush) had been focusing on the elections!

    You stay classy, Mr. President.

I asked the same question on a previous thread… apparently they have their ‘efforts’ zoned to another blog today… I assume its one with a higher toloerance for bullsh!t :D

#6 Conservative radio cracks me up. In their world, all that stops dem-controlled FBI men from stealing your guns and paying immigrant workers to teach your children to be god-hating sexual deviants is Bush’s veto.

In reality, we just want affordable living and freedom.

This is like watching an episode of the “Sopranos” when a territorial boss gets wasted and another one within the mob takes over. Not much difference here at all.

Well, not quite. She’s not Speaker until the new congress meets in January and the house elects a Speaker. Although we’re certain of a Democratic speaker, it’s only by custom that we expect Pelosi to be it. She’s not even Speaker-elect until that vote.

But your larger point is true: she should be called by a title and not by her first name. “Minority Leader Pelosi” is a lame-duck title, so maybe just “Congresswoman Pelosi?”

Here are editorial emails I sent to the Press Democrat newspaper on the issue that Bush & Gang soooo got to go—especially Rumsfeld.

    Rotten To The Core

    November 5, 2006

The op-ed article “The real insult to the military – and all of us” by Thomas Friedman is an honest and blunt assessment of President Bush’s intent to misdirect the American people. By exploiting Senator John Kerry botched one liner President Bush hopes that the American people, as Friedman stated, are too stupid to comprehend the Bush administration’s botched foreign policy in Iraq. Mr. Friedman goes even further, dissecting Bush’s obfuscation not just about his mass incompetence but blaming the Democrats for all the political, social, and economic ills in the last six years plus indemnifying those who stood along side with him in wrecking havoc of our nation. Aside from accusing Kerry of slandering our troops, Mr. Friedman points out that Bush, himself, never complete in serving on the armed forces, belittled and abused our troops, thus he’s undeserving of persecuting a metal of honor veteran like Kerry. Mr. Friedman also thrashed Rumsfeld and Cheney, exposing their part in the duplicity and insulting the very core in what it is to be an American. In my November 2 email letter to your editorial department I also reiterate those same concerns about President Bush but due to the word limitation I was unable to be as eloquent or concise as Mr. Friedman.

    Show Trial

    November 4, 2006

The premise for the article’s “Saddam’s trial a messier ‘Judgment at Nuremberg’ ” is an understatement. This nine-month trial of Saddam Hussein was more about political spectacle than justice for the Iraqi people. An example is that the trial is being compared to the Nuremberg Trials. No way. The Bush administration was quick to say that the guilty verdict will be a factor in the midterm elections. A statement in the article said that “World opinion and history will judge whether the new Iraqi government and its U.S. patrons conducted a fair trial or a victor’s vendetta.” This is true but the entire story won’t be pretty. Aside that the verdict will be announced before the elections this judicial road show was created by the Bush administration/Coalition Provisional Authority. Ninety percent of the $145 million in court cost was paid by the U.S. Justice Department. That’s our justice not the Iraqi people. Thus history will also reveal whether the U.S. had the right to put Saddam Hussein on trial. The fact that the U.S. conspired to invade Iraq since 2001 with deception and bogus intelligences will only compound the motive for ransacking Iraq instead of liberating its people.

    Out Of Time

    November 2, 2006

The article “Bush backs Cheney, Rumsfeld in interviews” shows how fast the President & Gang’s popularity is fading off the radar screen. Despite Bush’s pumping of any or all support through the Limbaugh’s and Robertson’s megaphones the general citizenry are waking up to the fact that they had been had by The Gang. Here what the megaphones have failed to add: Nearly 3,000 U.S. servicemen have died during the Iraq war. This Iraq war failed to stem the tide of terrorism as the “cause celebre” for jihadists rose to unprecedented level, breeding further resentment against U.S. involvement and the world at large. The Gang’s promise to end all torture by ending Saddam Hussein’s reign only created more out of control abuse being committed by our security forces, militia groups and anti-U.S. insurgents. Last but not least the new 10-member bipartisan commission headed by James Baker had assessed that the Gang’s strategy in Iraq is “ruled out the prospect for victory.” On the last paragraph of the article where Bush talked about praying being the source of his strength and comfort I believe he is in need of it more than he thinks.

    The A Material
    November 2, 2006

The article “Democrats join critics’ chorus over Kerry remark” makes a point about Senator John Kerry’s apology. The apology was for the unintentional criticism of our troops in Iraq through a lousy delivery of a one liner that was meant for President Bush’s lousy management of the Iraq war. But what troubles me is that the media just can’t get enough Kerry’s mishap. If such snafu deserves such attention then why weren’t other poorly delivered jokes or pretences to humor given such a grand stage? Here’s a couple that didn’t get the limelight as Kerry did: Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld made a funny that wasn’t funny when a soldier who asks him for more body amour during a public form. Donald, The Jester, responded “As you know, you go to war with the Army you have. They’re not the Army you might want or wish to have.” The other knee slapper is when President Bush made light at his administration inability to find WMDs in Iraq by looking for them under his desk during a media dinner. The WMDs was the principal reason for the invasion of Iraq which cost the lives of nearly 3 thousand of American soldiers and over half a million of Iraqis. Hah-hah.

    Vanishing Guns

    October 30, 2006

The article “U.S. Guns Sent To Iraq Not Tracked” is perhaps the most shocking news I have read in the Press Democrat. The very thought of nearly half of million of the U.S. weapons intended for the Iraqi security forces vanished without any accountability is in itself too mind boggling to contemplated. The level incompetence of the Bush administration in persecuting the Iraq war is already considered legendary. Until this latest revelation. This article continues with one paragraph after paragraph in delivering one body blow after another. Example: the U.S. military didn’t take steps in keeping records of these weapons that fell into the Iraqi weapon programs worth $133 million while building up Iraqi logistics capabilities costing us another $666 millions. The excuse for this mishap? Crashing computers. And presently, the U.S. military doesn’t intend to hold the Iraqis accountable in their part for this discrepancy. The article tries to walk around what is all too obvious about the missing weapons: there are use against our troops by the Iraqi insurgency. This is the ultimate insult to injury. The Department of Defense has registry jurisdiction over these transactions, which explain this grand snafu: Donald Rumsfeld. In short, Rumsfeld, along with the Bush’s political appointees, are responsible for the missing weapons as well as the high casualty rate of our troops this unspeakable mishap has caused.

  23. tom baker Says:

They’re trying to steal the Dem thunder by throwing out a giveaway cabinet re-appointment - BFD!! It’s nothing, being touted by the administration and msm as some great big deal - it’s like putting in a second-string quaterback late in the 4th quarter then acting like it’s a change to your game plan. Their game plan is played and over - there’s nothing to do now except clean up their mess, and they know it.

I think we can look for Cheney to resign in the very near future and for Bush to appoint Rice as his VP.She then will run for the Presidency in 08

Remember that major appointments have to be approved by the Senate. So they would get to vote up or down on VP Condi. If the Dems are controllwing the Senate the definitely means more 9/11 talk.

  29. Jericho Says:

Remember Bush yapping about being responsable for the war? His man of war is resigning because he flunked his war. It even flunked the republicans out of the house and probably the senate too. Still, Bush is still trying to talk tough to his ‘enemies’ - if he even knows who they are. Bush should resign, not Rummy. Rummy just tried to do what Cheney told him, and Bush is responsable for Cheney, RIGHT? So either stop saying you’re responsable or start being responsable and resign yourself, mister jackass-in-chief.
