The latest news reports claim Allen will demand a recount. And under VA law a demand for a recount must be made within ten days after the election is certified, which Va law requires to be done by November 27.

It looks as though the locality-by-locality canvass is critical. Once the canvass is complete (should be done by next Tuesday), the numbers usually don’t change significantly in the subsequent recount.

After Florida 2000 and Ohio 2004, the Dems should immediately send all resources to Va, protest Allen’s failure to concede and begin the blitz of the talk shows and media decrying the Republican attempt to steal the election and with it control of the Senate.

It is now looking like Dems won’t even come close to taking the house, and it will be Schumer’s ugly face the blame. Progs will then have the opportunity to force Schumer / Emanuel out of power once and for all, and promote their own field of candidates for the 2008 presidential race. As I stated yesterday, John Kerry’s apology puts the blame of offense from his statements on the soldiers and their families, and not on himself. Yet another opportunity lost to clear up the issue, and it WILL hurt Dems in this year’s midterm elections.

Probably a re-tooled version, with even greater penalties for hiring illegals. This is a chance to show America a fundamental difference in the way Dems govern, by getting to the heart of the problem. Border enforcement is a band-aid, until you can reduce the numbers heading north.

Eh, careful what you wish for, my debating tends to be slightly factual attempts at humor, except for a few issues that are the core ones to me. (welfare reform, abortion, nuclear (the s is silent) proliferation)

Reading through your posts on this thread, something I normally don’t do, let me just say that you have my respect on how well you have handled the news. You posted your congratulations with class.

Personally I find neither party any good, but hopefully the Democrats will do a good job over the next two years, or hopefully the mass of Americans will vote for someone other then either party in 2008.
