I am glad to see that Ohio has its priorities straight. Now, if they were holding up the count for a NASCAR race...well, that would be a different matter!
Interestingly, the only prominent examples this year of exit polls not matching results were in Virginia and Montana. In Virginia, exit polls had Webb ahead by 7 or 8 points and the same in Montana. Those were key to Repubs keeping the Senate. I think they underestimated the turnout for Dems in those states and blew it -- didn't cheat quite enough. But, now Dems will run congress and maybe we'll get some investigations into these exit poll vs. results anomalies we've seen in the past three elections.
How about this: no more computer-based voting systems!
That's true, the Republinazis should have just used their Diebold software to flip the votes instead of trying to base their vote treason crimes upon estimated percentages of wins.
Next time! These god damned crooks will certainly commit more mass voter fraud in 2008 and they won't give a sh*t that their further treason against America is blatantly evidenced.
ok - much as my ILLINI loyalty would probably denounce this, i'm gonna root for michigan for just this reason...
besides, if the ILLINI could keep the no.1 ohio to just 17pts. last week, michigan won't have to work very hard to win...
Mean Jean is awaiting a vote count?
Really?
I did not know that.
First, I hope she loses.
Second, I hope she loses bigtime.
Third, I hope she joins the Allen & Burns comedy routine; they deserve a bitch like her.
Didn't the Romans distract its citizens with games? And see where it got them.
Honey, if that's calamity at the door, tell it to wait, I'm watching the game.
Democrats would be wise to rid of Diebold and all the other E-Voting machines, because they are pieces of high-priced junk that are prone to glitches and fraud! Possible that Dems could have won 50 seats in the House and 10 Senate seats, if those machines had not been used, plus I doubt the closeted hypocrite Charlie Crist would have become Gov. of Florida either!
"...delaying the count of more than 9,000 provisional ballots by one day so it doesn’t disrupt the much-vaulted Ohio State-Michigan football game on Nov. 18.â€
I can't say that's the most stupid thing I've ever heard, but it's up there.
Throughout history, has a recount ever overturned the original count? I cannot recall that ever happening, especially since electronic voting. Ergo, it's unlikely the dems will pick up more than one of those eight. Plus thirty still aint bad.
As an old Michigan alum, I would say, "Go Blue!" I was in engineering school back in the early 60s, and we used to go to the football games in Ann Arbor, get drunk and jeer the then-crappy Michigan team.
Well, if Ohio officials are delaying the 2006 election vote count because of the coming Ohio State-Michigan game, I guess that the "Big Game" is in Columbus this year. The only trouble is that this game is not going to be played until November 18, which is 10 days away from today... WTF?
Maybe the Ohio election officials and their vote-counting minions are too poor to afford to buy VCRs to tape the game. If the GOP is in charge in Ohio elections vote-countying, its "a lock" that they are planning some more of their famous election monkeyshines...
We need to return to traditional and reliable hand-counted paper ballots as soon as possible to fend off any chance of the GOP electronically stealing the 2008 elections. The Canadians use hand-counted paper ballots and have their election results available within 24 hours.
I hope they're counting provisional ballots in these tight races. Since the repub election day strategy has been to challenge as many voters as possible, I'm guessing that almost all provisional ballots are dems.

American football is the most complex game in all of team sports. NFL players have the highest average IQ of all professional athletes. Each play in an American football game is a titanic struggle between two primal forces, chaos and order. A guy sitting on the bench for an NFL team who never even gets into a game is probably the best athlete ever to come out of his home town. These are some of the reasons why I still find football compelling, but it's definitely not as important as an American election!

Hi Katy!
I think marching bad is swell too. And those kids get to participate in music, which is in short supply in the schools! Especially out here in California, where the budgets have been cut so much over the years.
I wish they spent as much on the arts in schools as they did on football!
I work for a school of music too (www.jazzschool.com) and luckily we have a program to give kids from no-music middle schools classes in jazz. Which is an easier ticket for them out of the hood than competing for those few college football positions!
Have a swell day, thanks!
