Cool, this must mean I am suddenly a conservative too. I should head down to my local Young Republican chapter and strike up a friendly political discussion with my ideological brethren…maybe on the way I will pick up a new ball cap that says something clever about taxes, fishing, and Clinton. Anyone know where I can get an American flag lapel pin? I don’t want to be the only conservative without one.
I actually saw a group of young people standing on the corner of Center and Shattuck in downtown Berkeley, the day before the election, with pro-Bush flyers and Republican propaganda in hand. I assume they were out to get insulted, not exactly a place where they could pick up any votes! I was so tempted to talk to them but didn’t want to laugh in their little young faces and hurt their feelings… so sad to be wasting their youth on such garbage!

Never doubt the ballsiness of the Republican Youth.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Two days after losing a bid for a second term, Sen. Lincoln Chafee said he was unsure whether he would remain a Republican.
Chafee lost to Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse in a race seen as a referendum on President Bush and the GOP. On Thursday, he was asked whether he would stick with the Republican Party or become an independent or Democrat.
“I haven’t made any decisions. I just haven’t even thought about where my place is,†Chafee said at a news conference. When pressed on whether his comments indicated he might leave the GOP, he replied: “That’s fair.â€
I warned you that the MSM / Clintonistas would claim the election was a victory for moderation, but I never guess that they would go so far as to label many of the Dem candidates as conservative – pro-life Casey, pro-gun Webb, etc.
Have you woke up yet to how Clinton, Schumer and Emanuel are using your efforts for their own ends? They pay you lip service, while seizing the reins of power.
Not to worry, none of it matters:
- Social Security is failing, and the time needed to shore it up is ticking away
- China / India is developing economically, which erodes much of the economic footing of the US
- Illegal immigrants are pouring over the border, burdening education and social services
- Islamo-fascists are making gains in Africa, while the US doesn’t seem to have the resolve to face them in the middle east
These are the major issues that need to be address, yet the Dems seem fixed with the minimum wage, which just exacerbates the illegal immigration problem. I guess I can’t complain, Hastert and his Republican majority refused to deal comprehensively with the problem, so the Dems could do no worse.

BAHAA, more INSANITY from ASPERGERS BOY!!!
Even if we do NOTHING, social security will be able to deliver 87% of the current benefits without CHANGE!!
BAHAHA, FAILING?
The only thing FAILING around here is YOU and the GOPervert AGENDA!!

Ah, more IGNORANCE on ECONOMICS!!!
Just because one country improves economically, doesn’t mean OTHERS are ERODED!!!
First of all, your 87% estimate is higher than anything I’ve ever heard reported, and is most probably wishful thinking. Second, SS is a supplement to the pensions that are evaporating as large corporations slowly fail to multinationals, and smaller US companies that no longer offer pensions, just 401K’s, at best. You only have to look at automotive and heavy manufacturing to see the effect of overseas competition on the US economy – while I agree that it shouldn’t be the case that other developing nations are a threat, and have personally beat overseas electronics mfg’s in my career, generally the union mentality of our workforce makes the US uncompetitive.
Watched Bill Maher last night, congratulating Schumer as a genius, then asking him why he hasn’t heard the Dems talk about pulling out of Iraq since the election passed. Schumer just answered that “his” Congress intends to provide better oversight – you’ve all been had, and I warned you. You’ve had what is known as a premature electionation, allowing the Clintonistas co-opt your movement and take the bows as well as the power.
“- Islamo-fascists are making gains in Africa, while the US doesn’t seem to have the resolve to face them in the middle east”
Are you talking about Somalia? Or are you alarmed that there is a Muslim presence in Africa, which has been there since the 8th century?
And what do you mean by “face them” in the Middle East? What can the US do, who can the US attack, and what place can the US bomb which would stop radical Islamists in the Middle East? Up to now, the “courage” the US has shown hasn’t done anything to stop radicalism: mostly it’s made Americans feel tough but exacerabated the problem. Wacking a hornet’s next with a shovel isn’t bravery.

While there are a heck of a lot of Democrats who want to get out of Iraq ASAP, most of the people who thought that the Democratic leadership would move to get out ASAP were Republicans who like to use the phrase “Cut and Run”.

Why don’t you put up your comment on a thread that has more than 7 comments? Maybe you’ll get some attention.
Oops, maybe you don’t want attention right now.
