Why do we call it a regime rather than government?
Why do we call them insurgents or terrorists rather than activists?

Why is it ok to trash talk Bush and Co but when someone calls out America as a whole they get their azz reimed? These blogs where everyone b*tches and whines are just as retarded as those gawd damn yellow ribbon stickers.

Get your azzes out there and make some real change!

And I did read all these posts so I see the path that this blog leads....Zaff is right.....he was simply trying to point out the negative tone here and got chewed for it.

Bush is devider if not a decider....everyone is so busy trying to be right that there is no ability for compromise.

Change begins with you Pal.

Here's an idea. Bush should only nominate those folks certain to be LOVED by Dems and Progs - Pro-abortion, Anti-Religion, etc. THAT is the Dems brand of "bipartisanship".

Yeah, judges who abide by the constitution are real controversial. Why not at least give these men/women the respect they deserve and have an up or down vote? Is that so much to ask? This site attacks Bush for his partisanship? what about the democrats who wont even give qualified judges an up or down vote because they actually decide cases based on law and the constitution?

These judges deserve an up or down vote and Bolton definately deserves the same consideration.

Tobey, dude:

You think WE'RE the right wing sick trollops? Maybe you should head on over to the Drudge(ry) report and check out what they're posting.

Most of us want this terrible war to end, immediately, and most of us want to impeach Bush. Unfortunately, this Administration listens to us as much as they care about us.

We want to STOP the killings (on both sides) whereas it seems to me you just want to kill more and more. Violence is self-perpetuating.

When you battered the bully at school, do you think you stopped him from being a bully forever? Or did it occur to you that more likely after he got your thumpin' he was so pissed and humiliated he decided to go find some other poor, weaker chump and give it to him. Give it to him good, real good just to make himself feel powerful again? You cannot end violence with more violence.

(ps. I also think the Al Jazeera network is a good thing. More Americans need to broaden their horizons and see that there is a world outside Planet America and our actions have consequences that affect the entire world)

Peace.

Yes, America asked for this: we just didn’t show the Iraqis and Iranians enough love. Instead we act like the ugly, yankee, infidel pig dogs that we are.

Over 3,000 people died on 11 September. So what…because we REFUSED to bow down immediately and accept allah and his seven passing winds, and, instead, tried to retaliate, we now are caught in a quagmire, right?

Winning things is an outdated concept anyway, we need to be more of a mind of “sharing” a victory with our opposition, because who are WE to want to hoard all that victory to ourselves? Progressives should be more open about cheering when a victory-sharing moment occurs like a suicide bombing or an IED explosion. So an American soldier dies…they’re only puppets of Bushitler who deserve what’s coming to them for being imperialist yankee infidel invaders, right?

In fact, WHY should America have armed forces anyway? Nobody loves a bully, right?

Progressives should rally around the idea of forming a federal Department of Peace just so that the world will like America better, right?

Who could disagree with that?

Clinton did not compromise for the repugs, and the repugs don’t need to compromise.
Comment by Douglas G. —

Clinton, in fact, consulted with Orrin Hatch, who is about as Republican as one can get, before nominating Supreme Court justices, Dou-Ignoramus.

#54 Douglas G.

Well, now that they are majority are they going to follow their own whine? or do exactly what they didn’t like the repugs doing.

What does it matter, Douglas? You'll just manufacture your own little special reality. I don't expect you to notice how well the Dems will be treating the Republicans, in contrast with the non-stop bullying and power plays they've had to endure for the past several years. No matter what the circumstances, you'll be looking for some way to misconstrue things as a reason to carp. Who's really doing the whining here?

Doesn't anybody see Bush trying to force the Democrats into a filibuster during this lame-duck Congress?

The question is, are there enough Republicans willing to go along with the plan and bring these nominations to the floor?

Tobey Tall - you remind me of some of the violent people that tried to join and control the peace movement in the U.S. trying to stop the Vietnam war. We rejected you then, and we will reject you now. Peace is not brought about by hatred.

You are addressing a board filled with progressive people (mostly) who have been opposed to this horrible war in Iraq, and opposed to this criminal administration in Washington. We are doing what we reasonably can, other than take up arms ourselves. If it comes to that, I can assure you that many would do so to protect our Constitution. I am curious what YOU have done, as a member of the British nation, to try to influence YOUR government to stop this war?

When GW says almost anything, you can count on his meaning it's opposite. Hence, stating that he wanted Rumsfeld to stay with him through the remainder of his term (word is that he would have kept Rumsfeld if the Dems hadn't taken the majority.) His first actions of "bipartisanship" approachment was to renominate Bolton, also Ken Tomlinson, and now nine previously rejected judges. King George DOES NOT believe in democracy, and has long ago violated his oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Everybody is "making nice" now...but impeachment is the ONLY path to stopping this monstrous administration in its tracks...and Cheney has to go first.

I fed this article into my dumbshitometer and it pegged it. Then the ticker tape report came out, saying:
Tell Bush he's more likely to get laid by Laura than to get those nominees through.

Rampant hypocrisy! This is precisely why the mandate from the people regarding corruption at the top levels is crystal clear. The "buck" stops right there!
