“Ah, well, it’s clear, Mr. CNN reporter, with such a statement as that, you are certainly someone’s enemy, and that you have enemies……
Since we are here in this place attempting to communicate, or work with each other as it were… I guess I am proving to you that I am willing to work with “enemies” towards an end result of not being enemies any longer…..”
When given a chance to rise to an occasion and set a worthy and noble tone, why oh why do commentators sink to the lowest common denominator. Aren’t we all better than this?
Why should everyone who isn’t a white Christian have to prove to anyone else that they are “not working with our enemies”? Has our country become so stupid that this paranoid line of questioning is now acceptable?
‘what I feel like saying is, “Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.”
And I know you’re not. I’m not accusing you of being an enemy, but that’s the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way.
ELLISON: … I don’t need to — need to prove my patriotic stripes.
BECK: I understand that. And I’m not asking you to. I’m wondering if you see that.
Beck is wondering if Ellison ’sees’ that he is not asking Ellison to prove his worthiness to serve in the House? I don’t think idiot is strong enough of a word. Is it because he has to swear to protect and defend the Constitution against ‘all enemies, foreign and domestic’? Keep this up Beck, and Ellison will have to ‘protect’ us from you and your ilk.
You know, it never ceases to amaze me just how myopic anueploids like Beck seem to always out-do themselves in terms of bold idiocy.
This evening on CNN’s Prime News channel, Mr. Beck ranted on about the Middle East and the use of religion to justify the killing of innocent people. Gee, I wonder where I’ve heard this before…oh yeah, I remember now, the Crusades, the rise of Nazism, the continuing genocide in Africa, and on, and on, and on…
To put it bluntly, the man is a credit to the demise of the country, and quite frankly, CNN’s choice to air pure, unadulterated and uneducated hatred certainly doesn’t help its current image problem (America’s or the network’s).
If you ask me, he probably made more sense when he was an alcoholic…at least then he’s have an excuse for spouting his brand of vitriol.
FLR,
You confuse “Christianity” with religious fanaticism/exploitation. In my studies of Christianity I have found nothing that suggests intolerance, or violence, or class structures, or racism, or hate.
Those who espouse evil through a veil of religion are merely attempting to co-opt the perception of righteousness that normally accompanies religious theologies for the purpose of sheltering their true ambitions through deception.
I find it helpful to separate the actions of people from their claimed affiliations and associations so as to accurately interpret the truth without being biased, either negatively or positively, by the banner that they fly.
The is the lowest that CNN can get.Very low. This is an insult to the Congressman contituence who elected him…this disgusting journalism….’Prove to me….’ !!!how sick is this….he was elected by his own people..why does he have to prove to Glenn that. This is racism at its best.
Beck: And furthermore Congressman, please make sure you wear your yellow crescent armband next time you come on my show.
I was initially coming down on Beck’s side because he asked permission first, but then the gutless gobshite hid behind the ‘a lot of people feel’ cowardice.
Apple: “why oh why do commentators sink to the lowest common denominator. Aren’t we all better than this?”
The commentators are picked by people who answer to large corporate boards, so you get what big corporations think is good. Beck used to have a radio show. Maybe he still does. But, on his radio show once he said that he’d like to kill Michael Moore and didn’t mind if anyone else did. In my book, that makes Glenn Beck a terrorist. So, he gets his own show. The only exception on cable news right now is Olberman and his ratings have been so good, they probably have a hard time justifying firing him.
I know people who like this guy. They think he’s funny. I tell them no, that’s just the way he thinks, and that he really is a halfwit. They insist he’s just being funny. Soooo, halfwits all around…
I think he looks like a giant baby. I’m not trying to be funny, I just really believe he looks like a giant baby.
Michael Steele, the republican, just lost a race to be a senator. So who does Hardball have on the show? Michael Steele. I would have thought the winner, a democrat, would get a shot on the show for once, but that’s cable news for you.
Keep this up Beck, and Ellison will have to ‘protect’ us from you and your ilk.
that time has long since passed. we must protect ourselves from the bush crime family and their extremist agenda. the terrorism that we have to worry about stems from the whitehouse!
fortunately, one of the war-criminals pled guilty today to rape and murder of a young iraqi girl. read the story and look at her picture and THEN tell me, mr beck you pile of steaming dog-shit, who should we be worried about????
Hey Glen - you can redeem yourself if next week you can ask the following question:
“Do you think that it should be part of US foriegn policy to progress Israel into moving its capital to Jerusalem and other related precursors to the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”

George W Bush (preferably - but we know you are just small time, not like Katie Couric)
Condoleeza Rice
Bill Frist

Incoming freshman congressman Rep.-elect Keith Ellison opted out of meeting President Bush, but he had a good excuse: another meeting which he considered too important to miss.

“I have here in my hand a list of two hundred and five people that were known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping the policy of the State Department.”
Incidentally, we cancelled cable over a year ago and don’t miss it in the least. Take THAT CNN! Thanks to Comedy Central for making their shows available on the internet - where all the real news is anyway. I invite all to join us …
Mr. Beck, sir, prove to me that your not working with the KKK. I mean afterall, you’re white, and so are KKK members, and while I know you’re not racist, I and many people feel that you might be aiding the KKK since you are white, like them.
What’s with the change back to the dreadful text and tiny post box TP.?
Beck is an extreme fundamentelest, reich winged christian wacko…Watched part of one show and got a huge dose of the hurl’s from watching his screaming and ranting…..He should have a Sunday slot on on one of the many screaming bible thumpers chanells only…..Let’s not give him any more notice than this one thread please…gaging as I type……Blessings
Why are we wasting time talking about this? OJ is back in the news. Which is more important, global warming or OJ? C’mon… watch the news! Find out what is going on with OJ! Geesh!
“One cannot eat as much as one would like to vomit.”
A quote belated to Fascists. The guy is a fascist and he believes he can up the CNN quote by making ludicrous statements that are only to please braindamaged republicans. Call it FNN - FoxNetworkNews. That’s the reason why I don’t watch TV.
Oh, I forgot:
FLR is right. Christianity fu**ed up this planet, nothing else. Buddhism never provided for imperialism, murder, plunder, rape, torture, wars and anything else that can be done in the name of ‘A’ God. Sadly the Jesus fairy tale took millions of people’s live so far. I guess he was republican. Sort of.
On what basis would Beck or any other person posit such an idea?
I believe in posing the question Beck reveals that he may be an enemy of the American Constitution by attacking its fundamental premise. You know the one “all [persons] are created equal.”
If Beck claims he is not attacking that priniciple then he needs to tell us who else he has asked that question of? Did he ever ask Rumsfeld before Rumsfeld was charged in Germany with crimes against humanity? Or does Beck think people who commit crimes against humanity are not enemies of America?
Beck’s thinking reveals a keen likeness to “enemies of America” at least the America I believe most of you support.
Keith Ellison is my Congressman and I voted for him PROUDLY and without a moment’s hesitation. For those of you who know nothing of him but this stint with a Right wing blow hole, I assure you that Mr. Ellison will make us all proud to be Democrats some day (probably soon). The first time I heard him speak was electric because all I could think of was the first time I saw Sen. Paul Wellstone speak. The fact that this simpering gasbag could ask such a question of a duly elected Congressman is not only reprehensible but should be punishable by immediate termination from his post at CNN. This is an outrage and an insult to all the good people of Minneapolis who elected Rep. Ellison as well as a horrendous insult to the Congressman himself. Beck should be fired immediately!
I wish the Congressman had slapped the shit out of Beck. Hasn’t he learned from the election that the Repugnican way of dealing with issues doesn’t work any longer? I guess as long as people watch O’Reilly and listen to Rush the rest of the Hitler youth in hate radio/tv will think its still ok to behave like an ass.
“Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies”
yes.. good question.. does he plan on working with our current illegitimate executive branch?
guns and medical mistakes , the two things the bush regime is most interested in protecting, have killed more people every 2 months than the terrorists did in 9-11.
i think anyone doing an analysis of the numbers can see that bush policies have caused the death of more americans than foreign enemies could ever dream of inflicting..
Glenn Beck is, and always has been, a racist. CNN had lost my regular viewership long ago, but when they hired this buffoon I blocked the channel just to make sure I didn’t stumble on him while I was flippin…
I cannot BELIEVE that the prog radio station plays his stupid sensationalistic and inflammatory ads… Thank you ClearChannel and CNN.
Who the heck owns CNN now? I know that it is a frickin Right wing nutcase but they are not very smart business people.
The countries electorate is not a majority aligned with the Republican party. At best there could be an questimate that 33% of the eligible voters are right wing - nutjobs.
So why does CNN think that the business model of Fox news would work with them - they are very stupid. Their is a saturation already with the right wing pundit to I believe now a determit to their message. Constantly blastinig 66% of the American people who disagree with these people will just make continually lose of market share.
Get this CNN - Recent breakout of individuals in 2006 who voted for Democratic candidates = 55% vs 42.4% to (right hitler types)
I would review my market strategy and realise that perhaps there is a market for individuals who actually are Americans and not racists idiots like Mr. Beck.
I’m a proud Minnesotan who relishes the fact we’ver given America something the Beck’s of the World can’t understand.
We rose above petty partisanship, engrained racism, and theological castration to elect what may prove to be the ‘new face of America’.
Religious, political or military efforts will never allow peaceful coexistence on our planet. People have to rise above the absolute power & corruption driving America’s future and get back to the fact that we all must communicate, respect each other and work together to save the Earth. It’s our only hope for survival.
Beck is a loud mouthed, drug abusing, yelling fire in a theatre type who only can get attention by saying & doing stupid shit.
That makes him a stupid shit.
Keith Ellison is already much more of a man & leader than Beck can ever hope for. Representative Ellison has already shown this example by his response the dipshit’s question.
Keep you eye on Mr. Ellison, America. He’s a shining example of our future.
Beck, go screw Coulter & send your kids to Iraq. Your types have done more damage to our country in the last 12 years than anyone could have imagined. Your time is up. Your Goose is cooked. Admit it and go back to your corner. Mature adult Americans can see through your bullshit. It doesn’t work anymore.
Hasta La Loser, baby!
Joe Conason got it exactly right on the Al Franken Show, when he said that CNN Headline News needed to be competitive, but their collective IQ was too high, which is why they hired Beck.
Asking someone to prove a negative is a total logical fallacy.
In order to prove that he isn’t “working for the enemy,” he would have to provide literally billions of pieces of evidence in his defense, if not an infinite amount. A total impossibility.
The proper question is to Glenn Beck: “Prove that he is working for the enemy.
This also happens to be the basis for our judicial system. You’re innocent until proven guilty.
The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
Guys,
You are forgetting one thing. I keep on reading about the media and the right-wing and how corrupt it is. Glenn Beck is not a reporter, he is a talk show host who is paid to voice his opinion. Once “reporters” who are supposed to bring unbiased news to the public stop bringing unfair, exaggerated, and just plain made up reports with a left-wing bias, then you can complain about a talk show host not being polically correct. The way I see it is that they see themselves as the only way to bring any diversity to the media. And seeing as how they are outnumbered 100 to 1, they are just trying to be heard.
You criticize Fox News. Why? Because they are different and don’t bring a left-wing bias to the news.
I though you liberals were supposed to embrace diversity. Well, I guess you pick and choose which diversity is OK to embrace. That is just plain hypocritical.
Once “reporters†who are supposed to bring unbiased news to the public stop bringing unfair, exaggerated, and just plain made up reports with a left-wing bias, then you can complain about a talk show host not being polically correct.
What planet are you watching news on? I see “reporters” every day spreading the right-wing gospel and have yet to see a single one do anything close for the left-wing… Other than Free Speech TV, but please. Like their viewership is anywhere close to CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC.
I though you liberals were supposed to embrace diversity. Well, I guess you pick and choose which diversity is OK to embrace. That is just plain hypocritical.
We don’t embrace bigots or lies. I guess that makes us hypocrites in your eyes. Fine.
I am not sure what is Glenn Beck after. Is he asking us (the United States) to fight another war for Israel? Isn’t it enough our involvement in the middle east and our one sided support for Israel that has completely tarnished our image in this part of the world as well as elswhere.
After 13+ years as a loyal CNN viewer, I can no longer distinguish CNN from FOX.
Enough with Glenn and enough with CNN (at least until Glenn is off the air.
Thank you for 13+ years of service. It is time to seek balanced coverage and reporting elswhere.
[…] CNN’s Glenn Beck to the first-ever Muslim congressman:CNN’s Glenn Beck to the first-ever Muslim congressman: “[W]hat I feel like saying is, ‘Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.’†[…]
I am amazed how much hate he has for muslims and would want thousands of our American children to go to war with millions of muslims all over the world. He has several specials on Iraq, Iran and Syria and is beating the drum for a war with Iran next. Be wise! The only way to peace is through dialogue.
You stupid pathetic liberals when are you going to wake up? What happened to you people? Your the cancer that has destroyed America. Prepare to bow to Mecca 5 timea daily. Although those of you who arent already closet muslims wont be muslim enough when the time comes and you too will have your throat cut.

November 16th, 2006 at 7:34 amBoy, Keith Ellison didn’t half show some class. No hystrionics, no personal attacks, just a straight answer that he loves his country.
If this man is to be the face of Islam in America, maybe there is hope that bigots like Beck and his rabid entourage will grow up.
November 16th, 2006 at 8:06 am“Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.â€
November 16th, 2006 at 8:34 am“I really haven’t worked with Republicans at all, Glenn.”
And, is mr beck working for aipac?
November 16th, 2006 at 8:42 amGlenn Beck is, and always has been, a racist.
November 16th, 2006 at 9:05 amWho the heck owns CNN now?
Beck.
November 16th, 2006 at 9:10 amTo: Glenn Beck
From: a Minnesotan
Dear Glen, up yours you racist prick!!!
November 16th, 2006 at 9:33 amWhat a DIL-DO.
November 16th, 2006 at 9:36 amI’m a proud Minnesotan who relishes the fact we’ver given America something the Beck’s of the World can’t understand.
November 16th, 2006 at 9:46 amBeck, go screw Coulter & send your kids to Iraq.
November 16th, 2006 at 10:06 amAsking someone to prove a negative is a total logical fallacy.
November 16th, 2006 at 10:40 amBeck is a MORMON….and you know how those guys are.
November 16th, 2006 at 11:22 amGlenn Beck,
November 16th, 2006 at 11:32 amProve to me that you’re not working with our enemies?
rac·ism (rszm)
NOUN:
The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
Beck is a racist
November 16th, 2006 at 12:15 pmBeck is a Mormon and therefore, by definition, NOT a Christian so I’d like to know whose side is he on?
I’d have ended that “interview” right there.
When is this moron going to transfer to Fox “News”? He’d fit in great with the other fake journalists.
November 16th, 2006 at 12:32 pmGuys,
You are forgetting one thing.
November 16th, 2006 at 1:15 pmDisgraceful. Nothing more needs to be said. CNN should fire this hack immediately.
November 16th, 2006 at 1:17 pmGlenn Beck: prove to me you are not a child molester. And if you can’t, that must mean you are one, right?
November 16th, 2006 at 1:39 pmWhat planet are you watching news on? I see “reporters” every day spreading the right-wing gospel and have yet to see a single one do anything close for the left-wing… Other than Free Speech TV, but please. Like their viewership is anywhere close to CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC.
November 16th, 2006 at 1:41 pmWe don’t embrace bigots or lies. I guess that makes us hypocrites in your eyes. Fine.
November 16th, 2006 at 1:43 pmGlenn Beck better start asking Pro-Life supporters :
Prove to me you don’t support Abortion Clinic Bombers [ Terrorists ] or Abortion Clinic Doctor shootings [ Terrorist Homicide ].
November 16th, 2006 at 3:36 pmI am not sure what is Glenn Beck after. Is he asking us (the United States) to fight another war for Israel? Isn’t it enough our involvement in the middle east and our one sided support for Israel that has completely tarnished our image in this part of the world as well as elswhere.
November 17th, 2006 at 10:20 pmAfter 13+ years as a loyal CNN viewer, I can no longer distinguish CNN from FOX.
November 18th, 2006 at 2:34 pmI am amazed how much hate he has for muslims and would want thousands of our American children to go to war with millions of muslims all over the world. He has several specials on Iraq, Iran and Syria and is beating the drum for a war with Iran next. Be wise! The only way to peace is through dialogue.
November 21st, 2006 at 9:02 pmYou stupid pathetic liberals when are you going to wake up? What happened to you people? Your the cancer that has destroyed America. Prepare to bow to Mecca 5 timea daily. Although those of you who arent already closet muslims wont be muslim enough when the time comes and you too will have your throat cut.
December 7th, 2006 at 2:54 pmThe only way to peace is through victory.
December 7th, 2006 at 2:56 pmKikiD has it right. Glen Beck is a mormon not a christian, people. that explains all the hatred…read the book.
December 15th, 2006 at 11:54 amI just love his show. It’ s always on at my weekly Klan meetings. It goes great with Meth too.
