President Bush has renominated Kenneth Tomlinson»

as chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG). In August, a State Dept. inspector general’s report showed that Tomlinson had abused his position by using BBG resources to support his personal horse racing operation and receiving compensation that exceeded the maximum allowed by law.

That ought to go over like a lead balloon.

  4. chimpeach Says:

Yes, thank you for reminding us why you got your ass kicked in the mid-terms, Dubya. But, it’s only been a week now. We haven’t forgotten, yet.

Perfect candidate for the job if I must say so, has all the required qualifications for the Bush admin.

    Off topic,

    To all trolls, especially MA:

I saw the Jack Murtha FBI tape from ages ago, and he refused the 50,000 dollar bribe. I don’t care for what reason, he refused it. Maybe the reason Jack gave was to appease the “bad guys” as a believable reason. Bottom line, he refused a bribe, and was never charged with anything.

Do you still want to accuse Murtha of being corrupt?

Bush leaves us no choice. The only solution is impeachment.

That’s illegal in Washington State — now.

GWB is a persistent little prick, isn’t he?

“Dense” would be another word for it.

  12. S Says:

I’m really beginning to think that the BIGGEST THING that floats this president’s boat is to give the American people the finger in as many ways possible. This is a finger in the eye of the Progressives and Democrats. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE LOSER HE IS. I JUST CANNOT STAND MUCH MORE OF HIM.

  13. oxillini Says:

Rules? He don’t need no steenkin’ rules!

  14. Zimzone Says:

Tomlinson is a lot like Armstrong Williams.
Too much like him, in fact.

    Heckuva job, W.
You could f*ck up free beer.

  15. Margaret Says:

S - I second that emotion!!! This is just another way Bush is telling us that he intends to do whatever he wants and has no intention of giving up any ground whatsoever.

  16. S Says:

Yeah Margaret……..and he LIKES IT. I mean I really think he’s in a particular dysfunctional dance with the American people–among other things. He gets a perverse kick out of thumbing his nose at us. I keep thinking of the picture of his daughter sticking out her tongue at the photographers as she sped by in the limo. Seriously. We’re talking Juvenile mental illness here.

  17. SKdeA Says:

It’s so depressing when we win a fight and have to fight it all over again.
I don’t know the rule on this situation, does the nomination carry any weight or is it just W expressing his preference? Does it have to pass a vote somewhere?
Can we influence the decision in any way?
    I miss real TV…

  18. SKdeA Says:

    And radio…

  19. budpaul Says:

So I guess he’ll be our first smackdown in the new congress.

What the Hell is it with this Administration and Equestrians ??

  22. kat Says:

#7, these guys beat, choke and abuse women..they love horses because they are the horse’s ass.

  23. Marie Says:

    I thought Tomlinson was gone!
I wrote to my local PBS channel and refused to make my usual donation, saying they’d get nothing from me until Tomlinson was gone.
Now, after charges of corruption, Bush defies the public again and again nominates him for the BBG.
Tomlinson should have to find himself a place in the unemployment line. Bush is incorrigible - he has to go.

  24. Karim Says:

    Let’s see him try.
