What a ghastly, obstinate, and grasping group the Cons like him are. They prove the saying “the good die young.”

  2. Bluedog49 Says:

Remember everyone, Jack Murtha may have never tried to get a “bridge to nowhere,” but he’s still called the “king of earmarks.”

  3. Cb Says:

Series of tubes, guys. Series of tubes.

  4. Scott M Says:

I live in Alaska. Trust me people…a lot of us Alaskans wish he would expire. I mean retire. Damn.

  5. Marie Says:

Well, it appears there will be some entertainment in the Senate at times.
How can anyone take him seriously any more - he has made himself a laughing stock.

  6. Fredric L. Rice Says:

What kind of scumbag cunts actually vote for these crooks?

  7. CBGB Says:

That old man will keel over and die sometime next year and the Republicans will pull a‘weekend at bernie’s’moment by puppeteering his rotting carcass for the next 6 years so that they don’t lose the Senate seat.

Ya know, the same thing they did with Strom Thurman!

  8. Rebel In CA Says:

Maybe he want to be re-elected so he can earmark another $230M for a “road to nowhere” that connects to the “bridge to nowhere” that will take the Alaskans nowhere

  9. dlet Says:

Good the longer idiots like him stay in the Repub corner the better……as long as they are in the minority. Its when they are in the majority their stupitity hurts America.

  10. Bluedog49 Says:

Leahy’s on a tear and next year there will be hell to pay. Watch and weep, you wimpy, hysterical republicans.

  11. Curlew Says:

Maybe Ted will have croaked by then. That, or we will have another Strom on our hands.

  12. PBR Says:

Is the Bridge to Nowhere a done deal? can it be stopped? How much land does Stevens have on the island that the bridge will serve?

  13. ForTruth Says:

Ted Stevens is so freakin’ cool. (not)

  14. Zooey Says:

Maybe the people of Alaska could VOTE HIM OUT.

    Or he could die.

  15. tarazan Says:

May be he will be “Elected to nowhere” in 2008.

  16. ForTruth Says:

There’s an idea, the people of Alaska could vote him out.

  17. Zooey Says:

It’s an odd concept, but it’s worth a try.

  18. New Prog Says:

Stevens, OMG who could be any dumber than his

I am still stuck on who the biggest idiot in America:

    1. Glenn Beck
    2. George W. Bush
    3. Ted Stevens
    4. Billdo
    5. Sean Hannity
    6. Trent Lott

  19. New Prog Says:

Any opinions on the list will definantly be taken into consideration…

Who is this Magoo? Am I missing something?

  21. jurassicpork Says:

When Stevens was first elected to the Senate, Alaskan oil was still walking around on all fours and stepping on neanderthals and other Republicans. On to other matters:

I am really getting tired of having to explain to supposedly more intelligent and better-educated liberals as to why I say that the South will never rise again until it rises above its own stubborn racism, a racism that was vividly delineated by the last election.

So here’re my last words on the subject. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to do battle with Blogger and the little asswipe who keeps siccing them on me.

If you’re a southerner and are liberal and reasonably well-educated, then please exempt yourself from the present company. But I am NOT apologizing nor backing off from views that I’ve justifiably held for years after living in the deep south for portions of four decades.

My “worst five Americans list” in no particular order (only currently in office politicians included):

    1. Ann Coulter
    2. Michael Savage
    3. Dick Cheney
    4. Bill O’Reilly
    5. Rush Limbaugh

    OK, I can’t do “five”:

    6. Sean Hannity
    7. Glenn Beck
    8. Inhoffe
    9. John McCain
    10. George W. Bush

  23. New Prog Says:

I forgot all about Mann Coulter. She is creepy, and annoying. I have a friend who has conservative parents who even think she is nuts. She is now #1 on my list.

  24. New Prog Says:

    PLC John McCain?

I am not sure if he is THAT BAD but lately he has been sucking up ALOT to Dubya(i.e. Detainee Bill, etc) but in 2000-2004 he was in my opinion doing a pretty good job. I wish the Feingold-McCain bill presented in 2003(or was it 2002) would have passed. I don’t like him but he is better than some on the right.

  25. New Prog Says:

Did anyone see Jon Stewart last night? That burn he did on the racist moron Beck was EXCELLANT. I totally Tivoed that episode.

    GLENN BECK= Biggot

  26. ForTruth Says:

    Missed John Stewart, damn.

I’ll have to catch the repeat at 8. Thanks for the heads up.

  28. PatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC) Says:

    New Prog

What you said about McCain is exactly why he’s on my “worst” list. I used to have some respect for him but he has shown such a lack of consistency that he has lost any credibility or integrity that he might have had.

  29. Kevin Says:

    “TUBES!”

  30. AllAmericanHero Says:

Good Lord I hope he crashes and burns. With an idiot like him still running in Alaska, Dems actually have a slight chance in that state.

  31. Clare Says:

Why can’t these old white men LET IT GO and make room for the rest of us? 84? Come on!

  32. Jay Randal Says:

Not even Wal-Mart will hire an 84 year old as a greeter, so why should any sane person in Alaska vote for him?

  33. loretta Says:

ask his idoit constituents–after all, it would appear that they voted to keep him in when he was at LEAST 80.

  34. New Prog Says:

    PLC

I understand now. McCain IS probably the worst flip flopper in existence…

  35. Marty Didier Says:

He can’t retire because he’s screwed everything up so badly that he has to try to save his sinking ship!

  36. loretta Says:

nahhh–he’ll just blame the staff. Isn’t that the Republican M.O.?

  37. Zooey Says:

    Zzzzzzzz…..

  38. Zooey Says:

    f*ck it…

  39. stonehinge Says:

    hey zoo, gettin any yet?

  40. stonehinge Says:

    sound check…

  41. Zooey Says:

just me looking like a f*cking idiot, that’s all, stonehinge.

  42. stonehinge Says:

well hey girl, it look good to me - lol

  43. stonehinge Says:

i’m wondering if there shouldn’t be a backstage com channel for the regulars on TP

it would be easy to do with IRC

  44. Zooey Says:

i’d just rather leave it alone now, stonehinge. thanks.

  45. stonehinge Says:

Well, it’s been kinda TP-LITE this last week. Prior to the election, TP was putting up consistently good information. Since the election, it seems like the “quality” has dropped. You’ve been around longer than I — have you noticed any changes?

And — the banning of James Risser and others like myself who tend to “expand” the topic by providing external links. I was cut-off entirely last nite, and James has gone missing for several days.

    ????

  46. stonehinge Says:

You know, it has now been shown that the latest elections were rigged again. The only problem for the Republicans is that the fix was “under-sized.” I don’t understand why TP does not push this kind of stuff to the fore-front. Maybe I’m just not sufficiently hipped to the editorial strategy.

  47. Zooey Says:

I wouldn’t worry too much about being blocked, stonehinge. I’m blocked on occasion, and I rarely post anything of much consequence.

  48. stonehinge Says:

The whole blocking (or selective trashing) just seems completely arbitrary to me. Has TP ever published any guidelines concerning comments?

  49. stonehinge Says:

Yeah, that’s the typical boilerplate. No real justification there for restricting posts on Gates or the 2006 election rigging or several others that are not coming to mind atm. I wonder.

  50. Zooey Says:

I think they need to do a major updateon their whatever it is that needs updating, due to a large jump in commenters recently.

  51. stonehinge Says:

Wow, another comment just got erased. Did you happen to see it?

  52. Zooey Says:

No, I didn’t see it. Sorry.

Goodnight, stonehinge, it’s been nice chatting.

  53. stonehinge Says:

    cya

Is the bridge to nowhere the one Ted Kennedy drives his dates on?
