In an interview with Fox and Friends this morning, outgoing Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works James Inhofe (R-OK) argued that the current wave of unprecedented warming is due to “natural changes.” “God’s still up there,” Inhofe said, and to the extent there is warming going on, it is “due to the sun.” He added, “George Soros, the Hollywood elitists, the far left environmentalists on the committee that I chair — all of them want us to believe the science is settled and it’s not.” Watch it.
Despite Inhofe’s repeated efforts to muddy the picture, there is no real scientific debate over whether global warming is manmade or naturally-caused.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a body which involves thousands of scientists from over 120 countries who develop detailed reports on climate change, produced a report in 2001 which was reviewed by more than 1,000 top experts, including so-called “climate skeptics” and representatives from industry. The report stated, “There is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities.”
Most recently, the National Academy of Sciences has unequivocally concluded that natural causes cannot explain the unprecedented warmth over the last 400 years. Rather, “human activities are responsible for much of the recent warming,” the report states.
Transcript:
INHOFE: Now look, God’s still up there. We still have these natural changes, and this is what’s going on right now. New science comes out. I had a news conference yesterday, Brian, and the reason I did is because we were going to go over to Nairobi, take a bunch of scientists to get the true science over there, only to find out that the registration had dropped off. Almost no media was over there. So we had the same news conference yesterday right here in Washington, D.C.
We had all these scientists and all of them came to the conclusion, yes, part of the globe is warming. Let’s keep in mind, now, the southern hemisphere has never been warming and changing in the last 25 years. The last time I checked that’s part of the globe.
But if the northern hemisphere is warming up, it’s not due to manmade gases. And that’s what these people all come to the conclusion. And yet the other side, the far left, the George Soros, the Hollywood elitists, the far left environmentalists on the committee that I chair — all of them want us to believe the science is settled and it’s not.
By the way, there’s all kinds of new things. Gretchen, you’ll enjoy this. Get your violin out and get ready. They came out with a great discovery just a few weeks ago. And this came from the geophysical research letters and you know what they said? Hold on now! They said the warming is due to the sun. Isn’t that remarkable?
GRETCHEN: Wow.
BRIAN: That’s a Fox News alert.
GRETCHEN: That is a Fox News alert.
God who?
November 17th, 2006 at 10:52 amHe is “factually” correct. I flew in from Los Angeles today and in our descent as we passed through the clouds i saw both JC and God sitting in the clouds up there so it is all good.
November 17th, 2006 at 10:56 amWhat an @$$hat. How many days until Boxer runs the committee and tells this idiot where he can take his opinions to where the sun doesn’t shine?
November 17th, 2006 at 10:58 amThe last time I checked that’s part of the globe.
Are you sure? Because there are some folks out there that doubt whether there is a Southern Hemisphere:

November 17th, 2006 at 10:59 amGolly! Christian Creationist Cultists are going to kill us all.
November 17th, 2006 at 10:59 amThat does it. The government no longer needs to do anything. God will provide.
Does it ever occur to Inhofe that God is not some sort of parent that just allows his kids to do anything they want and spoils them rotten?
Good grief!
November 17th, 2006 at 11:00 amWow, i guess the party of personal responsibility and accountability is really extinct.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:01 amHappy Guy, would you like to weigh in now?
November 17th, 2006 at 11:04 amALL HAIL THE FOX NEWS QUESTION-MARK HEADLINE!

Yeah, and he’s sitting there sweating in his bermudas and flip-flops, drinking a tall iced tea with lemon, thinking about how he’s going to punish intellectual suicides like Inhofe.
Christ on a cracker…
November 17th, 2006 at 11:05 amHeterodoxy (good word btw, had to look it up) the party you speak of doesn’t need personal responsibility. Afterall, God is still up there!
November 17th, 2006 at 11:06 amWho was it… Remember that insane Christian Creationist Cultist here in Northern California who proclaimed that all of the redwood trees needed to be cut down and sold to Republican paper and lumber corporations because “when Jesus returns” he’d want to know why “we” hadn’t used all the “gifts” that his Jesus god “gave us?”
Man, Christianity is zero different than that entertained by Islamic kooks. The deity oriented religious are all profoundly insane and all merely the same coin, different sides.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:10 amThat’s not the worst of this propaganda. Try finding any information on any government web site. The NASA, NOAA and the US Geological Survey websites are useless. The best science sites are from Britian.
The emperor without clothes who goes around claiming to be the president thinks that if you do not acknowledge a problem, it is not a problem. I have a real problem with that.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:11 amIf god will take care of global warming, why doesn’t he take care of Iraq, BinLaden, terrorism, world hunger, the republican party etc…

Hey Gretchen, They say that the average citizens stupidity is due to the Fox News Network.
Gretchen: Wow, that’s a Foxs News ale…..heh wait a minute.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:13 amLet’s give the Repugnants some credit here. Baby steps…at least they have figured out that the sun makes the earth warm. That’s science. Give them 10-20 more years and maybe they’ll come around to the rest of the science that makes up Global warming. You can’t set the bar too high with these people or you’ll always be disappointed.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:14 amSorry to cause offence, but it is true. The most ignorant people on the planet are running the most powerful country in the world! And screwing up the rest of the world!

9 Billion-Year-Old ‘Dark Energy’ Reported
By DENNIS OVERBYE
Published: November 17, 2006
A strange thing happened to the universe five billion years ago. As if God had turned on an antigravity machine, the expansion of the cosmos speeded up, and galaxies began moving away from one another at an ever faster pace.

November 17th, 2006 at 11:16 amYa, “…God is up there!!!!…” why do you live in a house Mr. Inhofe? why don’t you stay out in the cold weather and rainy days and nights …God is still up there ..but He told you to use your brain Mr. Inhofe. Why do you see a doctor Mr. Inhofe..? to help you…but God still up there..and he told you to use your brain, because you need medicine and help. God is not against science…stop this backwardness and challenging scientists..in their fields..you don’t have their knowledge..admit it…you have the power to vote only… because you are only a politican Mr. Inhofe.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:20 am“They said the warming is due to the sun. Isn’t that remarkable?”
He’s right you know. The sun shines. People run inside and power up their air conditioners, using electricity provided by giant power plants that emit greenhouse gases. Then they jump into their SUV’s to go down the street to get chips and beer to consume while they hide from the sun and watch Fox news tell them it’s not their fault.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:20 amWow! That’s great news, Senator! So we can dump as much toxic sludge into our drinking water as we like, pump pure carbon monoxide into the air like there’s no tomorrow, and rip down every last tree in every last forest on earth, because God’s still up there and he’s going to protect us from our suicidal ways.
I think I’ll go jump in front of a freight train right now. God’s still up there and he won’t let anything bad happen to me.
Jesus H. Christ! How do f*cking idiots like this get elected?! I want to dope-slap every moron who voted for him.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:24 amThe REAL reason for global warming is that SATAN is getting a hold of our EVIL planet and trying to turn it into HELL! If there were only more GOD fearing Christians out there to do GOD’s work…..SAVE us all from the islamofascists who are turning the world into SATAN’s new HELL!
/sarcasm off
The scary thing is, there are some freaks out there who believe this or something similar. (Rapture anyone)
November 17th, 2006 at 11:25 am#10 Zooey, great one……”Christ on a cracker” is better than my old one of “crap on a crutch”…..Blessings
November 17th, 2006 at 11:25 amHe should be made to provide evidence supporting his assertion that the science is not settled.
Why are these people not challenged on their false claims? It is maddening that they continually get away with baseless assertions!
November 17th, 2006 at 11:28 amI do believe that the sun has been eliminated from the list of possible causes for increasing global temperatures. The suns variability has not changed as far back as we can tell, and hasn’t changed at all since we’ve had the technology to measure it accurately. So lets see, the sun’s output doesn’t change but global temperatures rise… hm…
I guess God left the oven on or something.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:28 ami thought there were many scientists out there who say warming may be because of the sun’s increased output. i have recently read many articles about other planets in our solar system experiencing warming like the earth. or am i a moron?
November 17th, 2006 at 11:29 amJJ - I tried to join the Flat Earthers, but had technical difficulties. Has anyone else been able to successfully join? This is something I would very much like to do.

November 17th, 2006 at 11:39 amFreakaloin…I’ve read the same things about the entire solar system warming. “http://astrobiology.arc.nasa.gov/news/expandnews.cfm?id=9252″
November 17th, 2006 at 11:40 amHowever the earth is trending towards levels of CO2 and temperatures that are far greater than previous ice ages. Historically, temperature and CO2 levels have shown to correlate almost exactly.
Once again, the ironic conflict within their statements is lost upon them…
I cannot stand the “everything will be okay when Jesus comes” mentality. It allows them justification for any and all screw ups their ignorance, arrogance, or malice may create.
If and when Jesus does show up, the first thing he is going to ask you is “Where were you when my Father’s creation was being destroyed?”
As you treat the least among you… try to think beyond your humanocentric nose for once jeezeefreeks. Its what Jesus DID.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:41 amSecond Law of Thermodynamics
> Baby steps…at least they have figured out that
> the sun makes the earth warm.
This is amusing. These Creationist cultists have for the past 200 years demanded that the Second Thermodynamic Law means that evolution doesn’t take place. And for the past 200 years, normal people telling these insane cultists to step outside and look up at the brightly burning object in the sky always results in abject silence from the god damned cultists who refuse to understand — willfully refuse to understand — that the Sun makes the Earth an open system.
Funny how this god damned insane Christian cultist finally recognized the Sun in his sky.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:45 amYou have to hand it to Gretchen and Brian - they certainly exemplify Faux “news” and its ability to be fair and balanced.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:46 amHe is really scary. Would that the neocons had never used the backs of the Christian Nonthinkers to get their way with our government.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:46 amGlobal warming is the interaction of the sun and green house gases.
Isn’t he like Neville Chamberlaine in a way?
November 17th, 2006 at 11:46 amGretchen, did you know my family has never had a cold, disease, divorce, or voted Democratic?
November 17th, 2006 at 11:47 amWow, that’s incredible!
Furthermore, we go to Church every Sunday, pray when we get up & before bed and only solicit money on weekdays.
Good for you, Senator. You’re a great American.
Yes, I know.
Mr. Inhofe, does your family have any deficiencies?
Not that wer’e aware of. We’ve never even had a homosexual in our family.
My goodness, now that’s a Fox News alert! Praise the Lord. May I ask you, sir, who’s your Pastor?
Ted Haggard. Have you heard of this wonderful man?
I just don’t get why these Republicans are so against the environment. Don’t they realize that the end of the world is bad for business?! I thought conservatives were supposed to be all about long-term investments. You can’t invest in anything more important than the planet we live on. Damn theocrats.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:48 amYes, Jim-Bob…God IS up there.
Trouble is, jackasses like Bush, Cheney, Rove…and YOU are DOWN HERE, effing it up for us and our children who have to inherit this planet.
Thanks to Fox News stupidity is more contagious than ever before. Fox News replies: “CATCH IT!”
November 17th, 2006 at 11:52 amThe science is sound: the current rampant warming trend is a direct result of human activity (burning stuff). There is no question about it.
The nay-sayers are simply people with other agendas, and those people do not live in a reality-based world.
Do the words “reality-based” ring a bell.
I thought so.
It’s funny, but while Inhofe is unwilling to accept scientific facts concerning global warming, he is perfectly willing to believe in an imaginary, omnipotent being whose existence is highly questionable, at best. At worst, it is poppycock.
I lean toward the latter.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:52 amWonderful! I was worried there for a second. Glad to know the whole “global warming” thing is taken care of.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:52 amGRETCHEN: Wow.
BRIAN: That’s a Fox News alert.
GRETCHEN: That is a Fox News alert.
Their time spent in higher education obtaining degrees in journalism certainly wasn’t wasted.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:54 amThis is the zaniest thing I’ve heard yet. Just like the catholics who believe that the fingers dipping into the chalice after swabbing the inside of a handicapped, immunocompromised individual before picking up your host will not be contaminated by “germs” because the hosts have been blessed by God. What a load of pure hooey!
November 17th, 2006 at 11:57 amWhen the dems take over in Jan. won’t some of them control the committee’s dealing with enviromental issues? Maybe then we can have common sense and science guide our enviromental policy instead of God.
November 17th, 2006 at 11:58 amThe minds of our leaders have been turned to pure mush. Maybe it’s in the water in Washington??
November 17th, 2006 at 11:58 am(Inhofe):
November 17th, 2006 at 11:58 am“And furthermore, where I come from is the center of the universe. It is flat, and therefore the world, and the universe, is flat.
And that is why the sun makes it so hot.
Does he understand that the Earth actually orbits the Sun, and that the stars are actually not encased in giant glass orbs? Does he also understand that God doesn’t actually carry the Sun accross the sky in his great chariot of fire? What a moron…
November 17th, 2006 at 11:59 amInhofe is an IDIOT!!!

November 17th, 2006 at 12:10 pmI seem to recall Inhofe being the idiot who said that we would never run out of oil….God had put just enough oil in the ground to last us through the end times, and then after the rapture and establishment of The Kingdom of God on Earth, we would no longer need oil anyway.
That is what he means when he says “God is still up there”.
November 17th, 2006 at 12:11 pmInhofe: God Will Save Us From Global Warming…

OK, if the sun is causing global warming (not really a stretch when you think about it — I mean, it warms me up when it’s out)and “God is up there”, maybe he was trying to say that God is the sun.
But that’s stupid, everybody knows JC is the sun.
What a dope.
November 17th, 2006 at 12:13 pmAnd to think the fine people of this country elected this man to office…

November 17th, 2006 at 12:24 pmThe rest of the country shakes its head in wonder!
Jeez, how classy of the fox news anchors here to interrupt this guy every time he tried to speak with their skepticism and support for the opposing side of every argument, even though that’s what a good journalist is supposed to do.
November 17th, 2006 at 12:27 pm“God is still up there.” Oh, yeah…that’s a great strategy! (sarcasm) Just sit back and expect God to straighten all our problems out for us…
Would that be the same God who according to the Old Testament decided to wipe out nearly every single human being on the planet with the Great Flood — or razed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to the ground — because He was displeased with them? Seems to me that people like Inhofe could stand to think twice — and read their Bible again — before they assume that God is infinitely forgiving. If I remember correctly, the New Testament also says that God’s willingness to forgive is at least somewhat dependent on our repentence and our willingness to amend our ways. Does it sound to anyone here as if Inhofe is in any way repentent or willing to make amends for the damage that we’ve already done to our planet? Not to mention the fact that if you believe that God created our planet and our environment, the damage which we inflict on it in the name of our comfort could not only be interpreted as ingratitude and contempt, but it could even be argued that we are trying to put ourselves in the place of God and destroy His creations to make way for our own. According to the Biblical stories, the angel Lucifer was cast out of heaven for trying to usurp God’s place…what’s to say that God might not possibly choose to do much the same with us and leave us to suffer the consequences of our own actions? That is, after all, what even the most loving parent is sometimes compelled to do on behalf of an extremely willful and obstinate child…
November 17th, 2006 at 12:27 pm“God is up there?” Yes he is, Mr. Inhofe, and that’s why he keeps sending environmentalists to tell you that we are f$%^ing up the planet.
November 17th, 2006 at 12:38 pmSigh… God works in mysterious ways
Science is not settled? Wasn’t that what they said at the trial of Copernicus?

November 17th, 2006 at 12:45 pmOne thing is abundantly clear: Inhofe is NUTS! This guy is so paid off by special interest that he’s chop down every tree on the planet and polute the water if he could. I mean come on Inhofe, no one can be a stupid about global warming as you pretend you are. Let’s say for argument sake inhofe is wrong, you can’t undo centuries of polution overnight. And there’s one thing Inhofe has forgotten, a hotter planet could spell the end of mankind.
Maybe Inhofe thinks that roaches will elect him President he and they are the only living creatures left on earth.

You can’t see the truth? Fox is a satirical channel. Like the Comedy Channel.
And people who believe that anything on Fox is NOT A JOKE don’t have all of their marbles together. Regarding God:
1) Religion is opium for the people. Opium = Illegal Substance.
Illegal Substance = War on Drugs = Inhofe and friends = Jail
2) Undead = Zombie, Christ = Undead = Zombie. Christianity = Zombie-ism = worshipping the Undead = not caring about the living.
3) God looks like Charlton Heston and has left this universe for a hospital stay somewhere else. He got sick from the infinite stupidity of ‘his’ ‘creation’ Adam and Eve. Adam + Eve x multiplication = Human Mankind = INCEST. INCEST = Republicans = Inhofe. Any questions?
Maybe Inhofe thinks that roaches will elect him President he and they are the only living creatures left on earth.

Yes! Next question.
November 17th, 2006 at 1:32 pmActually, Inhofe’s remarks remind me of that story about the man trapped in a flood. A few people come by in a boat and offer to take him to safety, but he refuses and says “God will help me.” The flood waters continue to rise, and so he goes to the upper story. Soon another boat comes by and another group of people offer to help him, but again he says “God will save me.” The waters keep rising, and so he climbs up onto the roof. A rescue helicopter sees him and the people inside say, “Come on, come with us! What’s the matter with you?” Once again, he says “God will save me.” Finally, the house completely sinks below the water and the man drowns. When he gets to heaven, he yells at God “What happened? Why didn’t you save me?” God calmly answers back “I tried to — I sent you two boats and a helicopter.”
Inhofe, it appears, expects God to save us from ourselves through some sort of huge miraculous intervention…when maybe some of what we’re seeing might just be God’s way of telling us, “Come on, already…get off your oversized asses and do something! I’m not the one who created this mess — I shouldn’t have to clean it up for you.”

November 17th, 2006 at 1:45 pmHere in Britain if any polititian made these sort of claims that so blatently flew in the face of the global scientific consensus over this the interviewer would rip them to shreds. I`m amazed that the woman interviewing him didn`t do likewise. Why didn`t she demand that Inhofe would explain why no articles skeptical of global warming have appeared in any peer reviewed science journal for over a decade now? Why didn`t she stress the fact that your country`s highest scientific institution, the NAS and it`s sisters organisations in every country on Earth agree with the IPCC

November 17th, 2006 at 1:46 pmTwo things.
First, it’s not true that there is no real scientific debate about the causes of global warming. It’s just not, and pretending it is makes you look dumb. And to the extent the debate is not there, it’s a shame to the scientific community, since we don’t actually know. We have some working theories, none of which are remotely proven.
Second, there’s no hypghens after adverbs. “Naturally-caused” should be “naturally caused.”

I was raised United Methodist, and even though I’ve since realized that I coudn’t in my wildest dreams ever have the slightest hope of really being able to understand the nature of God (which makes me, as I see it, more of an agnostic), I still remember one piece of incredible wisdom attributed to John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist church. He said, “pray as if everything depended on God — work as if everything depended on you.” Jesus meant His followers to be pacifists, not passive-ists! (I didn’t make that last bit up myself…someone else did in response to one of my posts on another thread somewhere earlier this week, although I can’t remember who. Kudoes to whoever it was…)

November 17th, 2006 at 2:00 pm101. So am I a moron?
Moron? No, I don’t believe so, but perhaps you are suffering from a bit of willful ignorance.
I have no idea what you might be referring to regarding the other planets in our solar system. I think you are making that part up…..if not, please provide a reference.
As for solar output increasing……the answer is probably….a little bit. Scientists/astronomers have measurements from solar orbiting satellites for the last 3 decades, which indicate that perhaps solar output might have increased ~0.1% overall. What does this mean? Very little. We have no reliable measurements for prior to the mid 1970s of the solar luminosity, and the variations on a daily, hell, on an hourly, basis due to sunspots, prominences, etc alone can be larger than this. Astronomers know from observing stars much like our own sun that variations of 1% in the luminosity of a star over short periods are not uncommon. None of this takes into account that the Earth is in an elliptical, not circular orbit, and that the amount of energy that reaches the surface of the eart at our closest vs furthest points from the Sun cause canges in the amount of energy hitting the surface of the Earth to vary on an annual basis.
In short, it is a hideously complicated issue, and Inhofe putting himself in the position of an authority on global warming just proves what a jackass he is. The atmosphere of our planet is becoming increasingly warmer on average. This cannot be disputed. If anyone wants to argue the merits of the whys……go educate yourself. Inhofe has quite obviously not done that.

“”Jesus will do whatever he wants to do. If he wants the temperature to become 87 degrees in the Northeast region during the holiday season, so be it. “”
Guess that I need proof Daryl, since there is only one book that even mentions this mythical person you call Jeezbus… And that one was written long after this figment of your imagination supposeded existed, preformed his “miracles”, was crucified and then rose again only to preform more miracles and then have a bunch of winged creatures come down to carry him up into the heavens on a beam of light… Hell boy, I have read Grimm’s and other Fairy Tales that made more sense.
Don’t you think that if this so called “son of god” existed and actually lived that there would be mention of him in the roman governments texts etc? We do know that there was a Herod, but no mention of Jezzbus or any of his miracles???
There have been thousands of gods since the beginning of thought by human beings, as people needed to be controlled and religion is a form of government… How can anyone in their right mind believe in these things that have been fabricated from before the bronze age?
Religion to me, is authoritarianism pure and simple.. Those who need it are needing a crutch to get through this life, and depend on religion or their belief in it to hedge their bet on the shitty life they are in now.
Just another opiate for the mind, imho….
I would rather follow Dr. Richard Dawkins example and be free from all the false dogma and silly beliefs…
November 17th, 2006 at 2:19 pmYeah, God will keep us from ruining the environment….. who are these people?
November 17th, 2006 at 2:22 pmIn my observation:
November 17th, 2006 at 2:23 pm“Daryll” is perhaps the religious alter ego of some other resident troll……
“Daryll’s” utterances are a classic stereotype of an abused and denigrated adolescent who has found refuge in a fantasy world. Easy for a theatrically minded blog addict to ape, all he’d have to do is watch re-runs of the 700 club……
Statements such as: “Jesus said vengeance is mine” betrays a true ignorance of ever having really read the bible. The words of Jesus of Nazareth are those of a peace-maker, albeit a closet revolutionary……
Daryll, if you are actually what you present to others here on this webblog, all I can offer you is….. “better luck next time…..”

Why fears of nuclear power aren’t science, but unscientific scaremongering .
Chernobyl and Three Mile Island were just bad dreams. Never happened.
Why species are increasing, not disappearing .
Really? What species? Name a couple. Are you talking about the numbers of a certain species or the number of species. If the number of species is increasing, that would probably count as evidence of evolution. Or an alien invasion.
Look, the author knows there are people out there just dying to hear that science is wrong, so he writes a book saying exactly that and makes a lot of money. The people who want to hear that sort of thing (like you) are not about to check the facts, or look for alternate explanations or refutations. I can guarantee you that most, if not every single one, of his claims can be debunked by a real scientist, using scientific method, as opposed to half-truths and rhetorical devices.
But, that would contradict your preconceived notions and therefore would be unacceptable to you. If you don’t like science, don’t use it. Rely on magic instead. See how far it gets you. But, don’t try to say science is wrong if you don’t accept the means by which it’s determined to be right or wrong.

Could it be that there is less human population, fewer smoke spewing automobiles there in the Southern half and thus less concentration of GreenHouse Gases over that region? Doh.
(Of course there may be many other complex explantions for hemispherical disparity –if true– but to outright dismiss the conclusion of learned scientists around the world is the height or elitist arrogance.)

November 17th, 2006 at 4:08 pmGet off your fat ass and do something.
To support his argument, Faiz makes the following statement (after incorrectly stating “there is really no debate”):
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a body which involves thousands of scientists from over 120 countries who develop detailed reports on climate change, produced a report in 2001 which was reviewed by more than 1,000 top experts, including so-called “climate skeptics†and representatives from industry. The report stated, “There is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities.â€
The problem here is that he is quoting from the IPCC SAR Summary for Policymakers, which was written by a committee of government representatives, not climate scientists and it was not reviewed by climate scientists who wrote the individual chapters in the IPCC report.
The relevant chapter of the report, Chapter 12, Detection of Climate Change and Attribution of Causes flatly contradicts the Summary:
Uncertainties in the estimated climate change signals have made it difficult to attribute the observed climate change to one specific combination of anthropogenic and natural influences.
November 17th, 2006 at 4:10 pmCan the “Fox and Friends” (what an awful name!) crew be any more dimwitted? Just going along with the diarreha flowing from that Okie’s mouth with their only response being a dismissive laugh to his assertion that the Sun is the cause of global warming…makes me sick.
November 17th, 2006 at 4:21 pmInhofe’s assertion that “God is still up there,” is unverifiable. Actually, God may not be up there at all. He may be over here, or perhaps down there. He may be in the bathroom. He may have hit the microwave to sanitize the planet (God knows it needs it), then left for vacation.
It’s just as likely that Global Warming is evidence that God is no longer up there, if he ever was. Same goes for the recent tsunami, or the earthquakes, or the wars, or the killer viruses, or Katrina, etc. etc. etc. If anything, all of these, throughout history, are counter-evidence to God.
As for blasphemy, if there is no God, there is no blasphemy. And profanity, what the hell IS profanity?
November 17th, 2006 at 4:23 pmPlease, people, be more kind to Sen. Inhofe! Show some respect! It is difficult to be a US Senator when you are perpetually tripping on LSD. November 17th, 2006 at 4:48 pmNo, global warming isn’t a HOAX. The hoax is the REASON they’re giving for it. The planet goes through natural cycles of warming and cooling, creating small ice ages and drought periods.
The Sun IS the cause, but it’s not solar heat, it’s solar magnetic radiation. It varies throughout a 36-year cycle, and the major, major hurricane periods occur every 36 to 38 years.
CO2 doesn’t rise, it’s heavier than normal air. All this about fossil fuels depleting the ozone layer is bullshit - the ozone at the poles varies naturally, and it’s ONLY AT THE POLES, it doesn’t affect 90% of inhabited land.
The energy industry is going to reap the “clean-up” contracts, after they’re done playing the “bad guy” and having morons like Inhofe become their spokesmen. Notice how you change the subject so you can play the victim in lieu of making an argument.

Look…. I’m a life-long Liberal Democrat
Actually, if that http://www.breakfornews.com website is any indication, I think you’re a paranoid schizophrenic. So, do you also think that AIDS is a hoax, as it says on the website?
How do you know the internet isn’t a hoax? Maybe the whole thing is all the same website run by one guy and you only think you’re communicating with other people. Did you ever consider that little possibility? Hmmmm?
November 17th, 2006 at 5:02 pmwasn’t there something about: god helps those that help themselves? I can’t believe that is an argument made on national TV. Oh sorry. fox news.

Nice attempt to READ the text on that site. No one says AIDS is a hoax, it says AZT is a Big Pharma scam. AZT kills more people than it helps, but it brings in trillions, so it’s the only treatment.
I understand why you guys are buying this stuff, you’re been programmed to accept it. So was I. I just don’t anymore. You won’t know the truth until the whole scam is over , trust me.

To support his argument, Faiz makes the following statement (after incorrectly stating “there is really no debateâ€):
