    Good luck Barbara…

  2. Curlew Says:

I’m not sure what influence Senator Warner will have being in the minority (FINALLY!!) but it would sure as hell be better having him in a more prominent role on environmental issues than neanderthal Inhofe. Christ. Where do the Repugnicans drag up sludge like Inhofe anyway?

  3. Marie Says:

What about the Senate Armed Services Committee?

  4. Uncle_Ho Says:

off topic; A sad day for college football fans, former Michigan football coach Glen E. (Bo) Schembechler died today from heart failure. God bless you Bo.

  5. Fredric L. Rice Says:

Well, this rightard cunt can’t be as bad as the previous one, can he? I mean Jesus f*cking H., Christ, it can’t get any worse, can it?

  6. RUCerious Says:

Curlew - A land called Oklahoma.

  7. trueblue Says:

    Fredric Rice,

I understand you have strong feelings of dislike, but that particular word is very offense to most women.
I don’t want to get in any kind of arguement with you, but I did want to let you know. Maybe even an asterick would make it, well, less obvious.

Sorry. Felt I had to say it.

  8. Marie Says:

    OT- sorry.
Just heard that another has been captured in Southern Iraq and a ransom is being demanded (no confirmation) If that is so, could it have anything to do with Fox having paid $2 million for their reporters’ release?
Funny, I did not hear a word about the Fox ransom on the MSM.
No one is confirming this latest report on kidnapping (on NBC) either.

  9. RUCerious Says:

Update ! Imhotep had a negative 29 rating from the rest of the planet…

  10. Rebel In CA Says:

All I want to know is, does this moron intend to introduce another act, like the Warner Act which was passed, allowing the President to put troops on the streets of the US cities to quell public decent?

  11. Curlew Says:

A 14 percent rating from the LCV is 15 percent greater than Inhofe

  12. Fredric L. Rice Says:

    > but that particular word is very offense to most women.

And your face is equally offensive to all women. And men.

So, if I may quote that great American patriot and statesman Dick Cheney, go f*uck yerself.

    Thanks!

  13. trueblue Says:

I was trying to be nice.
Sorry you took it the wrong way.

Your response was not nice, either, but there’s nothing I can say or do about it.
    Good luck to you.

  14. RUCerious Says:

Mr Rice, true is a very nice person and a valued contributor to the discussions on this site.
Your dissing her shows you to be a true lout.
    Oh, yeah F*CK YOU.

  15. muckdog Says:

Incoming Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-CA) “has said that addressing global warming will be the committee’s top issue to address in the next Congress.”

This ought to be hillarious. Spinnin’ their wheels in front of the Big Bush Veto Pen. Time well spent, Babs. LOL.

  16. trueblue Says:

    RUCerious,
    Thank you very much.
I’m touched to tears by your response. (honestly.)

    Thanks.

  17. AvengingAngel Says:

While the GOP this week wrestled with its new status as minority party, leading lights Trent Lott and Mitt Romney showed the Republicans’ attitude towards minorities remains unchanged.

    For the details, see:
“Lott, Romney Revive Republican Race Card.”

  18. Bluedog49 Says:

Hey Rice, they need you over at “Little Green Footballs” or “Ace of Spades.” Why don’t you get over there quickly. Oh, and I second the motion: go f*ck yourself!

  19. Bluedog49 Says:

Yes, muckdog, this IS going to be hilarious watching Bush veto things 70 to 80% or our people want and, in doing so, flushing the presidency down the toilet for republicans. Great fun! He broke repub control of congress and now he’ll do the executive branch the same favor.

  20. Bluedog49 Says:

Muckdog, maybe you haven’t noticed, but every thing Pelosi has proposed doing in the first 100 hours is supported by a broad majority of Americans. You evidently think vetoing things supported by a broad majority is a good political strategy. I hope your position is widely held in republican circles.

  21. trueblue Says:

    Bluedog49,
    Thank you as well.
I never knew I had so many TP friends!

    It’s really sweet.

  22. trueblue Says:

    Great,
Now I’ve made it Mr. Rice’s ‘Signature Statement.’
Look at his 7:30 post on the thread above.

    Sorry, TP.

    I didn’t realize I’d create a monster.
Maybe I need to shut up some more.
(a lot of folks would like that, actually! ;) )

This is *not* the Friday night I had in mind.

  23. Tony Says:

“Warner had a 14 percent rating from the League of Conservation Voters in the 109th Congress.”

Beats Imhofe’s 0%. Then again, none of it matters because he’s going to be the Ranking Member instead of the Chair. Man, it feels great to say that. Barbara Boxer will look *fantastic* with a gavel in her hand.

  24. Nancy Says:

Yes muckdog! let Bush veto all Dem legislation which Americans have overwhelmingly indicated they want - and Repubs will lose AGAIN in 2008.

  25. Nancy Says:

TP - what does “push aside outgoing Inhofe” mean?

  26. trueblue Says:

    HA!
He was just voted Keith Olbermann’s “Worst Person in the World”

  27. trueblue Says:

    Inhoe, that is…..

  28. trueblue Says:

    Oops,
    forgot the “f”, sorry.

    No particular reason…
    (fill in the blank…)

    ;)

  29. PatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC) Says:

    trueblue -

don’t EVER doubt that you have a lot of friends here. Your confronting of FLR was calm, respectful, and reasonable. His response was rude, arrogant, intolerant, demeaning, childish, and despicable. FLR’s posts have been getting increasingly foul and offensive in multiple ways. He’s on my ignore list -WORSE than a neocon troll!

  30. Zooey Says:

So, if I may quote that great American patriot and statesman Dick Cheney, go f*uck yerself.
    Thanks!
    Comment by Fredric L. Rice

Whoa. That was really uncalled for, Fred.

C*nt really is out of line. It’s possible you didn’t realize how offensive it is to many women.

  31. PatrioticLiberalChristian(PLC) Says:

    Zooey

FLR should have realized how offensive the c-word is after trueblue told him. He does not care, which is an even worse offense, IMO.

  32. ForTruth Says:

Inhofe is very frustrating, what’s up with Oklahoma?

  33. WC Says:

So Inhog…I mean, Inhofe, is going to filibuster any global warming legislation, eh?

And to think newly elected Rep. David Davis (R-TN) was commenting a couple days after the election that Bush wouldn’t get anything done with a Dem-controlled Congress.

  34. Zooey Says:

Inhofe is very frustrating, what’s up with Oklahoma?
    Comment by ForTruth

    It’s full of okies.

  35. WC Says:

I suppose Sen. Inhofe thinks Venus, with a temperature of over 740 K, would be a great place to spend a summer vacation. Oh, this temperature is due to a “run-away greenhouse effect that raises Venus’ surface temperature by about 400 degrees to over 740 K (hot enough to melt lead). Venus’ surface is actually hotter than Mercury’s despite being nearly twice as far from the Sun.”

    Source.

  36. Josh Says:

Did you know that Inhofe’s middle name is “Mountain”… haha

  37. vwcat Says:

Inhofe: our next Conrad Burns. Watch him.

  38. carollt Says:

Just like spoiled children who are made to share their toys (power), it seems like many of the Rs in the Senate are threatening the filibuster.

We the voters will be looking for that gang of 14 to stop the spoiled sports. All fourteen are still in the Senate which just goes to show that reasonable people are allowed to keep their seats.

Someone in Oklahoma needs to make a run on Imhofe. He has to go. If it’s a choice between Imhofe and Warner, I would take Warner any day of the week. At least he will listen and perhaps become a convert to the fact that the big melt is on. It is melting as we speak and the melting will soon stop the gulf stream current with all kinds of nasty consequences. And all that warm water that no longer goes north may lead to the rapid melting of the ice sheets in antartica; won’t that be fun. Japan, London, New York, LA, Washington DC and all the coasts in all the lands under water.

Anyone living near the sea level better start thinking about moving to higher ground. If you wait for Congress to act, you may very well own a wonderful home 300 feet below the sea.

  39. S.D. Says:

On MSNBC, Sen. Inhofe threatened to filibuster any bills addressing global warming.
But I thought all issues should get an “Up Or Down” vote?

Yet Another Fine example of GOP Hypocrisy…
