O’Reilly: ‘Far Left Loons’ Are Linking Fox News With O.J. Interview On Orders From ‘Their Internet Masters’

On Thursday, ThinkProgress noted that Bill O’Reilly — trying to distance himself from Fox’s upcoming interview with O.J. Simpson — falsely claimed “Fox Broadcasting has nothing to do with the Fox News Channel.” In fact, the two entites have the same chairman (Roger Ailes), the same owner (Rupert Murdoch) and Fox Broadcasting regularly airs Fox News content.

Last night, Bill O’Reilly attacked the “far left loons” who are linking Fox News with the O.J. Simpson interview. According to O’Reilly, these people are “kool-aid zombies” who are “doing the bidding of far left fanatics who will do anything to disparage me and FNC.” Watch it:

O'Reilly Screen Shot

Oddly, O’Reilly attacked the New York Times and CBS for not covering the story. Apparently, the appropriate response to an interview O’Reilly calls “a low point in American culture” is to lavish media attention on it. At least that is what Fox News is doing.

Digg It!

Transcript:

Hi, I’m Bill O’Reilly. Thank you for watching us tonight. The media reacts to the O.J. Simpson debacle. That is the subject of this evening’s “Talking Points Memo.”

The so-called elite media is tiptoeing around the fact that Simpson’s being paid millions to exploit the murders of his ex-wife and Ronald Goldman, murders he probably committed.

The New York Times covered the story in its business section. “CBS Evening News” didn’t even mention it for the first two days. But the tabloid press and cable news are fully engaged.

The far left loons are also out in force as their Internet masters urge them to tie the FOX News channel in with the Simpson situation. I’ve received scores of letters like this one from Fred in Indianapolis.

“Mr. O’Reilly, you are a man of principle. Since Fox News is sponsoring the Simpson program, will you sever your ties with Fox News?”

Obviously Fred is a bit slow. FOX News has nothing to do with the Simpson situation. And Fred doesn’t believe I am a man of principle either. He’s a Kool-Aid zombie doing the bidding of far left fanatics who will do anything to disparage me and FNC.

And there’s the Harper Collins/Regan Books/Newscorp connection, too. Judith Regan was one of Bernie Kerik’s girlfriends. Remember Bernie?

  3. Jeff says:

BO is mad because he realizes there are spies at FOX who are going to bring it down one internal memo at a time. Follow the $$$. Propagandizing to the little people is illegal.

  4. RealScientist says:

O’Reilly is sinking fast. The guy is getting downright bizarre.

  5. burro says:

If there were ever a competent and unimpeachable identifier of Loons it would be O’Lielly. He’s been looking at one every morning for the last 60+ years. If he says he’s seeing Loons, we’d best believe him.

Whatever division’s within Faux hierarchy O’Lielly might want to hallucinate about, it’s one company under Rupert Murdoch and that’s the end of that BS. Shill Bill may be feeling possessive about his propaganda machine but it’s just one big swamp.

  6. David Brooks says:

Think Progress has seemed to be a thorn in Bill Oreilly’s side for quite some time. I noticed Bill attacks the websites character instead of attacking their message anytime he makes a reference to the “internet masters”.
I have been visiting ThinkProgress daily for about one year now for checks and balances on news stories and I also tune in the the “Radio Factor” maybe acouple times a week for enteretainment purposes. I just want to thank Think Progress for always setting the spin straight and I also wanted to thank Bill Oreilly for entertaining me.

    Thank you both

  9. Darin says:

This idiot doesn’t blink when he cashes his Fox paycheck every 2 weeks and has the balls to criticize bloggers who are upset about this ’special’? They should put Bill-O’s picture next to the definition of “hypocrisy” in the dictionary.

  10. EasyRider says:

So the Democratic Party is totally disorganized, yet the “Far Left Loons” are organized and follow orders.

Great logic from a great mind! Must think the the left is amirro reflection of the right wing model.

  11. Henry says:

Bill O’Reilly is odious in every way–a fantasy rapist (read his own fiction) who took the leap from the word processor to the telephone, and cost himself millions of dollars in a legal settlement. Limbaugh has Oxycontin as his drug of choice. O’Reilly’s is probably the same as his spiritual forebear, Joe McCarthy.

My quarrel, however, is not over the content of what he says but with his vocabulary. The designation “far left” is badly corrupted by him and the rest of the Fux News crowd. They use it to marginalize anyone with an ounce more humanity than they possess themselves. In fact, there is no “far left” in the public square. You don’t hear anyone chanting things like, “property is theft” or “off the pigs” unless you happen to go to a May Day demonstration; you certainly never see or read anything about them in the media. Not one of the people they brand as far left has any interest in pulling down the capitalist system or threatening the public order.

So to O’Reilly, I can only say, paraphrasing the man himself, “Put down that pipe and shut the f*ck up.”

  12. Jeff says:

    David Brooks,
Thinkprogress never wrote about Democrats voting in favor of the Military Comissions Act. Thinkprogress will not be an example for cleaning up the Democratic party. Put down your torch.

    Kevin/Mighty Aphrodite,

I am even mor curious to know, how do conservatives feel about NewsCorporation -that paragon of conservative values- being involved in the interview, its broadcasting, and its publication as a book through several of its units (FauxBroadcasting, FauxNews, HarperCollins, and Regan Books)?

How do you feel about the same company that denounces and blames the “left” for the decline in American culture, contributing to that decline with shows of questionable value such as “Who wants to marry a millionaire”, “Cops”, “Blind Date”, “Family Guy”, etc.? (Not to mention the interview with OJ Simpson)

I think OJ did it. He was a serial wife abuser, from the court testimony. He was a jelous, possesive ass. I think he did it.
California courts and “celebrities” have a bad record of letting people get away with murder ( as well as spousal abuse and child sexual abuse ), for the rich and famous not the poor of course. Something really whacked about that. IMHO

Yet he suggests that things may not be all that rosy for Democrats as voters seem suspicious of anyone who gains power in Washington, D.C.

In Bai’s view, the Dems have another possible problem: the very same liberal bloggers that helped make them the new majority in Congress.

*****Thank you, my friend! All I can say is “Amen!” So many happy, funny memories ease our suffering. But a funny thing happened on her last birthday – I was outside gardening and two of my children came up. I had been crying and they could see my eyes were a mess. One of my sons said, ” You know Mom, I know you’re sad because it’s our sister’s birthday…but maybe it’s better she died early – I mean what if she grew up and became a bank robber and was not allowed to go to heaven??” His sister just ahead of him, chimed in, “Or worse, Mom,…what if she grew up to be a DemoRAT???” I went on to tell them I was a recovering DemoRAT….Aren’t some kids just too precious????

    OJ WAS framed!

The racist neocons in the LAPD had to keep OJ from getting too uppity because he was talking about running for mayor or governor so they framed him by turning his wife into a pez dispenser and gutting Ron Goldman.

Kaeto Kaelin was actually a veteran detective with the LAPD Special Actions/Intelligence Division who was back-channeling intel on OJ before the murders took place and collecting DNA from Simpson like toenail clippings and used prophylactics to give to his control/action officer, Mark Fuhrmann

The old-school, neo-con cabal in Brentwood orchestrated this perfectly, getting the case docketted on paleo-con Lance Ito’s court schedule. Christopher Darden was the token “house-negro” for the LA County District Attorney’s Office who was brought into the case to diffuse any charges of racism.

F Lee Bailey was given a year’s worth of Macallan single-malt just to make things fair for the prosecution.

Rush Limbaugh’s had in this is evident through his use of Judith Regan to bring out Simpson’s ghost-written book so that the White power elite can keep their hobnailed bootheel on OJ’s neck.

O.J. sewer leads right to Murdoch
    November 18, 2006

AMERICA’S popular culture lost its sense of shame so long ago that it’s a little hard to recall precisely what that emotion felt like.
    […]
…the Fox television network announced that it would air a two-part interview with O.J. Simpson as part of the publicity campaign promoting a new book, “If I Did It,” in which he offers a hypothetical account of how he might have killed his ex-wife
    […]
“If I Did It” is the product of the former football star’s collaboration with an unnamed ghost writer and will be published at the end of this month by ReganBooks, the euphonious shock-and-schlock imprint Judith Regan runs for the HarperCollins publishing house. Fox, ReganBooks and HarperCollins all have something important in common: They’re owned by the predatory Australian-born media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, who has devoted his life to making money by making sure that news and entertainment are as coarse and vulgar as can be imagined in as many places as possible.

In fact, if there is a single compelling argument for restrictive immigration policies, Murdoch is it. It is one of history’s inexplicable perversities that this avaricious antipodean has been welcomed into this country while honest Mexican workingmen are walled out.

    Confirmed: Israel Nuked Lebanon!

    Publication time: 18 November 2006, 23:16

RAI reports that soil samples from the bomb crater contained twenty times as much radioactivity as samples from the surrounding area.

The British newspaper The Independent had previously reported that soil samples from Lebanon were being tested for radiation in England. RAI now reports that the radioactivity has been confirmed by British scientists at two different laboratories.

The measurements were carried out by two Lebanese professors of physics – Mohammad Ali Kubaissi and Ibrahim Rachidi. The data – 700 nanosieverts per hour – showed remarkably higher radiocativity then the average in the area ( Beirut = 35 nSv/hr ). … on September 17th, Ali Kubaissi took British researcher Dai Williams, from the environmentalist organization Green Audit, to the same site, to take samples that were then submitted to Chris Busby, technical adisor of the Supervisory Committee on Depleted Uranium, which reports to the British Ministry of Defense. The samples were tested by Harwell’s nuclear laboratory, one of the most authoritative research centers in the world. On October 17th, Harwell disclosed the testing results – two samples in 10 did contain radioactivity.

On November 2nd, another British lab, The School of Oceanographic Sciences, confirmed Harwell’s results – the Khiam crater contains slightly enriched uranium.

As Kurt Nimmo wrote late last month:
This is scantly mentioned in the corporate media … as such brutal revelations would inspire people to ask their government why it is sending billions of dollars a year to a country that nukes its neighbor (and using uranium-based munitions is indeed nuclear war, even if the signature mushroom cloud is absent).
Nimmo also reported that Israel appears to have used other unconventional weapons against the people of Lebanon. For more details, please see:

    A BOMB’S ANATOMY

The special report was triggered by the radioactivity measurements reported on a crater probably created by an Israeli Bunker Buster bomb in the village of Khiam, in southern Lebanon. The measurements were carried out by two Lebanese professors of physics – Mohammad Ali Kubaissi and Ibrahim Rachidi. The data – 700 nanosieverts per hour – showed remarkably higher radiocativity then the average in the area (Beirut = 35 nSv/hr ). 130. Democrat Rising says:

Randi Rhodes called it correctly Friday on Air America. The jurors in the criminal trial knew OJ was guilty but were tired of the unethical practices of the LAPD and decided to make an example out of them. What’s the big hub bub about anyway? Let’s say OJ does go on tv and confesses. Would that change the world? Will it bring peace to the Middle East. End stravation? End opression of the weak? I think not but it would give the news heads something to talk about incessiantly for a few days.

Who cares? TV is crap any way. People watch crap everyday. What’s a little more crap? I loves me a good O’Reilly rant. It makes me all tingling inside. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm tingles

  136. Nabil Al-Murabit says:

  138. Josie S. says:

Someone at Fox Broadcasting had to have lost their mind to even consider this absurd idea.

I was an OJ trial junky 11 years ago. Today, I did not intend to give him one minute of my time to either read a sentence of his book or watch a minute of his interview.

This man is inhuman. His moral fiber is disconnected and I consider him an insult to the human race.

What was Murdoch thinking when he decided to support this? I’ll tell you what he was thinking – the mighty dollar. Although he has now decided not to air this after public outcry, he did not dig very deep into his moral conscience until he was forced to do so. If this was his son or daughter that was murdered, would he have even given this idea a millisecond of thought? Shame on you Fox Broadcasting and Murdoch.

Shame on Chapter/Indigo in Toronto, a bookstore I used to support until now, for deciding to sell the book if it came out. I will not shop there any longer simply because they TOO intended to stock it. Shame on everyone who could not think past the color green.

A big applause to humanity for saying “enough”.

Your friends, in the LAPD, claim that “to their knowledge” (Kaelin) wasn’t employed by the LAPD.

OK, so what kind of Intell angency publishes or open-sources the names of their detectives, agents or operatives? C’mon, Sparky, THINK! It’s not like “Spy Vs. 141. bill peppin says:

141, you say, Who should care about l’affaire OJ? I personally don’t, and neither do most people outside of the Goldman/Brown families, who, in fact, care quite a lot. They are into revenge, which in the end, v. Christ & New Testament scripture, is not The Way. Leaving all of this aside, the reason why people care has nothing to do with OJ, but rather the unbelievably craven depths to which commercial Tee Vee will sink for ratings during sweep week. THAT’S the reason l’affaire has caused such a stir. The larger issue is: why in the world does a man already a billionaire many times over feel the unending need to accumulate yet more wealth? What is it with people like this? Michael Nagler has it right: Tee Vee is the enemy of democracy and of intelligent dialog in this country: the stated goal of the neothugs has been, right from the start now 25 years ago, to conquer through causing division among our people. Their capture of the media outlets has been used to promote this agenda, with faux the most blatant example in view at the moment. We should all pledge here, as Nagler asks, to boycott the sonofabitch now and forever, save for satellite channels U select for your own viewing apart from the mainpisstream media.
