Contrary to recent rumors, “White House officials say President Bush has every intention of keeping Mr. Rove on through the rest of his term,” the New York Times reports. But the White House “seems aware of the apparently limited influence in Congress of Mr. Rove. … Joshua B. Bolten, the White House chief of staff, was dispatched to the Hill this week to hold meetings with members, suggesting that he is likely to play a more prominent role.”
Bush had every intention of keeping Rumsfeld on also. I would say this declaration to keep Rove is the Kiss of death for Rove.
November 19th, 2006 at 3:54 pmI have no doubt Rove is here to stay, but didn’t they just say the same about Rumsfeld…?
November 19th, 2006 at 3:57 pmThey never do the right thing. Never.
Let’s all give a big hand to CARL ROVE SuPerGenIous.
Keep spinning Carl, nobody’s buying.
November 19th, 2006 at 4:00 pmNO good news today with even pudgy face Karl Rove staying in DC!
November 19th, 2006 at 4:01 pmDidn’t Bush also say that about Rumsfeld? I don’t know how comfortable Rove should be. One minute the lying Bush says you are going to stay; the next minute you are having a press conference with your replacement.
I take this statement to be a sign that Rove is the next to go. I hope so. Rove has contributed much to the polarization in this country. Encouraging people to hate one another is not good policy.
November 19th, 2006 at 4:04 pmFreido just got kissed!
Buh-Bye!
November 19th, 2006 at 4:07 pmOne question: hows a guy who only throws shit and unlawful comments about its political opponents a genius?
So Einstein talked shit about Newton?
November 19th, 2006 at 4:16 pmI seriously doubt that Rove will ever resign entirely. There will be a faux resignation at most. Rove is Bush’s consigliare.
November 19th, 2006 at 4:17 pmThe Bush Gang are going to soon be sliding out of power, for when the new Democratically-controlled Congress takes power in January, some dispressed and disgusted GOP election fraud operatives will step forth and spill the beans about how they helped hack, rig and steal the 2000 Presidential Election and the 2004 Presidential Election for Bush and the GOP.
November 19th, 2006 at 4:19 pmEven the Republican members of the House and the Senate will have little trouble voting for Impeachment and Conviction for Cheney and Bush and thus rid themselves of these albatrosses in a timely manner..
This is can’t lose territory, isn’t it? If he stays, he continues to cripple Bush, if he leaves, Bush is crippled.

See a tongue-in-cheek visual of “The Architect” following the fall of his house of cards…here:

November 19th, 2006 at 4:30 pmRove is another nail in the republicans coffin – dont worry
November 19th, 2006 at 4:36 pmGuess he can’t leave town with all of the subpoenas which will be forthcoming. He’s probably been advise to stick around.
November 19th, 2006 at 4:39 pmHope you are right, Tobey.
November 19th, 2006 at 4:40 pmJames above….and I simply cannot wait for the whistleblowers to come crawling out of the woodwork and spill the beans about how the elections of 2000 and 2004 were hacked…with prima facie evidence. The people are aware that the elections were stolen; the cons who aided and abetted will be shaking in their boots because if they don’t come forward before they are subpoenaed….then their bargaining power due to their involvement and/or complicity will be reduced. I suspect that by January we’ll have plenty of technical information along those lines….and 9/11 info will be streaming out as well. If those “in the know” do not come forward before they are “outed” by their cronnies, they’ll be sunk too. Get ready…it’s going to be a “really big show”…as Ed Sullivan would say.
November 19th, 2006 at 4:42 pmGuess he can’t leave town with all of the subpoenas which will be forthcoming. He’s probably been advise to stick around.
Comment by veritas — November 19, 2006 @ 4:39 pm
I recommend seizing their passports before they escape to Paraguay.
November 19th, 2006 at 4:53 pmSo he’s staying around to advise on the next election?
November 19th, 2006 at 5:05 pmOr he’s staying in the background vis a vis congress so he doesn’t sink the prezidunce’s congressional interactions?
“…Can’t afford to lose my ‘Brain’”…Said Bush
November 19th, 2006 at 5:11 pmHA! HA! HA!
The Democrats have every intention of keeping President George W. Bush on through the rest of his term.
HA! HA! HA!
John
November 19th, 2006 at 5:19 pmYeah, he’s another nail in the regressive coffin. But it doesn’t mater what Chimpy says today because he has no idea what he gonna do tomorrow. That has been the way this misadministration has operated…..the same shit just from a different hole, except for the stay the course crap it has been anything goes. Chimpy really doesn’t have a clue what a plan is and never has. And let us hope he stays around to advise the next election, this last go round he had “the” math and all his other blather so Rove should stick around because it is now confirmed for those that didn’t believe previously that he is clueless regarding the reflection of the Nation.
November 19th, 2006 at 5:21 pmWhen I first read the headline, the song: ‘Our LOVE Is Here To Stay’ popped in my mind. Oh no!
BTW, wasn’t the AC/DC cut of this song great. Sure! Yeah!
I should call “Weird Al” Yankovic. Let’s have a parody of: ‘Our Love Is Here To Stay.’
‘Our ROVE Is Here To Stay.’
This song will be a smash hit.
Remember: EAT IT, EAT IT, EAT, EAT IT, EAT IT, EAT IT. JUST EAT IT. Oh, does Karl love to eat food. JUST EAT IT.
‘Our Rove Is Here To Stay’
In my heart-of-hearts, I just know Karl loves the AC/DC cut of: ‘Our Love Is Here To Stay.’

November 19th, 2006 at 5:50 pmRove is here to stay?- well, rummy was also.
November 19th, 2006 at 6:11 pmThis type of comment from the chimp is exactly like the comments made from baseball owners as they are getting ready to fire their managers!
Rove will stay. He knows too much.
November 19th, 2006 at 6:18 pmI wonder how soon he’s leaving and who his replacement will be.
I assume he and Rummy will both be getting Presidential Medals of Failure.
November 19th, 2006 at 6:37 pmHope RoveReich does stay. He’s a know entity and the people know his dirty tricks. Besides, when the investigations and indictments begin, the “architect” of this corruption will be the kingpin so he’d better not leave dodge….he’s probably been advised not to.
November 19th, 2006 at 7:13 pmHow much less effective is Rove anyway, now with a Democtratic Congress?
November 19th, 2006 at 7:37 pmI’m sure Rove sees that as a temporary situation.
November 19th, 2006 at 7:43 pmCHICKENHAWK is home to roost.
November 19th, 2006 at 8:01 pmTime to throw up the media coverage.
Incoming! keep low.
I’m so sick of the Bush administration that I’ve stopped using logical, impassioned arguments. I just name-call.
Rove, Bolten, Bush and the rest of them are just a bunch of tools.
November 19th, 2006 at 8:39 pmI’m so sick of the Bush administration that I’ve stopped using logical, impassioned arguments. I just name-call.
Comment by Clare — November 19, 2006 @ 8:39 pm
It depends on the names by which they are called. To call Bush stupid or Cheney psychopath is an accurate characterization of these would be fascists.
November 19th, 2006 at 9:04 pm#17 – RUCerious, did you run this claim through the lyingbastardometer? If so, what kind of reading did you get?
November 19th, 2006 at 9:56 pmThis is a “heck of a job Brownie” move. Karl is toast and so is Cheney. Both will be gone in a few months. Karl to greener pastures and Cheney to make way for McCain to be VP in preparation for the 2008 elections, unless Condi gets there first.
Second prediction: Laura files for divorce after Cheney leaves.
November 19th, 2006 at 10:24 pmHeck of a job Turdblossom!
November 19th, 2006 at 10:37 pm#32
Condi VP? That’ll be the day…she’s walking incompetent…well actually then I guess she’s a bit overqualified…maybe you’re right goddam it!
Rove…please stay, comedians and satirists have to feed their families somehow, that goes Dubya for you Dubya and triple Dick…
November 19th, 2006 at 11:33 pm#31 – For some reason, it didn’t even register one tiny beep on the lyingbastardometer. Hmmm. Had it turned on and plugged in and fully charged.
November 20th, 2006 at 12:52 amMaybe he is staying…
How about a no-fault one way trip to Paraguay and the Bush Deep South Ranch?
November 20th, 2006 at 1:03 amAC-DC covered Gershwin? I am so glad I missed that… it’ll give a vintage jazz fan like me the permanent willies. Ew!
November 20th, 2006 at 2:41 amListen, Rove and the Neocons are not dead. Just look at Rawstory.com or dailykos.com. Two of our most progressive news sites. Look who is advertising on them: Glenn Beck! Looks like some of us are taking money from the other side. Sad.
November 20th, 2006 at 5:54 amJust what we all need : more of the turd blossom
November 20th, 2006 at 8:31 am#38,
Glenn Beck was never ‘one of us’.
Let’s just get that straight right now.
He’s a cheesey, loudmouthed, theatrical shrill, making a lot of noise
and asking stupid questions to get ratings.
There, you have it. Nothing more, nothing less. If this is CNN’s way to
November 20th, 2006 at 11:04 amtry & collapse Faux News ratings, they chose a poor host.
This means that either means that he’s here to stay, or… that’ll be gone tomorrow.
You never know.
November 20th, 2006 at 2:24 pm#40 Zim, he wasn’t saying Beck was one of us. He is saying our DLC loving buddies are letting CNN hawk his disgusting ass on their websites. As Jon Stewart says “He just says what people who don’t think…are thinking.”
