former President Bush was “forced to defend his son from verbal attacks” from a “hostile audience.” “We do not respect your son,” a woman in the audience told Bush. “We do not respect what he’s doing all over the world.” “Bush appeared stunned as the audience of young business leaders whooped and whistled in approval” at the woman’s comments, coming after the “retired president had just finished a folksy address on leadership by telling the audience how deeply hurt he feels when his son the president is criticized.”
poppy and babs owe the world an apology.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:03 pmby telling the audience how deeply hurt he feels when his son the president is criticized.â€
Im sure is nothing compared to Iraqi dead child´s dad. So put up, you CIA piece of s*ht.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:04 pmto daddy bush…
BOOOOO FRICKEN HOOOOO You raised a hateful f^ckin Christian elitist bigot.. Deal with it!
November 21st, 2006 at 2:05 pmAhhh, the poor old spook. A little slicker than his son, but just as big a crook and almost as dangerous.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:07 pmAwesome to see the unvarnished truth
November 21st, 2006 at 2:08 pmLike me and the other boys down at the Petroleum Club have been saying for years, “Ya shoulda’ pulled out George…a bunch of times!”
November 21st, 2006 at 2:09 pmThis clearly reveals how far out of touch the entire Bushite cabal and extended family are from reality.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:10 pmW keeps writing checks Daddy can’t even scan, let alone cash.
Poor daddy! Feels hurt when somebody criticises his criminal son? What about all those people that are dead now because of his stupid offspring? What about their parents? The whole family belongs at least into jail. But as ‘good christians’ they will go to hell.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:10 pmIs Pappy that out of touch and isolated? Or does he expect his handlers to protect him the way they protect his spawn, the Murderer-In-Chief?
November 21st, 2006 at 2:12 pmAnd once again it is a WOMAN who choses to stand up and speak her peace. Bravo, young lady.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:12 pm“how deeply hurt he feels when his son the president is criticized”
Now THAT must be a world, nay, a universe of pain!!!
November 21st, 2006 at 2:14 pmFirst comes Hubris, then comes Nemesis.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:15 pm“But as ‘good christians’ they will go to hell.”
Too bad for us that there is no hell for them to go to. Too bad they are so damned sure they are going to their fictitious heavan
November 21st, 2006 at 2:17 pmThe truth has an anti-Bush bias.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:17 pmDoesn’t he feel deeply hurt that almost 3,000 service men and women have been killed in an unjust war…
November 21st, 2006 at 2:18 pmOh I guess if it does not directly affect the BUSH clan then it does not matter.
I knew I did not like BUSH 41 for a reason!! He is just as smug as his son.
Neither Bush gets why people don’t like Bush Jr. Amazing and sad. When reality creeps into their imaginary world it must be very frightening.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:19 pmOut of synch, out of mind, OUT OF TOUCH! These people live in fantasy worlds where there’s always enough money and they get and see only what they want.
Bush Sr. is ’shocked’ to hear disparaging remarks about his son? Where has he been the last six years. Sheesh!
November 21st, 2006 at 2:20 pmRight on to those people in Abu Dhabi who confronted 41 with the truth about this son’s hideous policies. The kicker is that he was stunned. The Bushies are in such a protected bubble that they really might not have a clue about what the real Bush ‘legacy’ has shaped up to be.
I’s sure that when Poppy travels to the the Middle East he assumes he will have audiences of servile men and women who wouldn’t dare speak the truth.
Sounds like that get together would make him long for the days when the worst thing that would happed would be ‘tossing cookies’ on a host’s lap.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:27 pmIs he saying he’s hurt because he raised a dumbass or because his son screwed up? Maybe it reminds him of georgie’s younger years when the other rich kids made fun of him for being stoopid.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:28 pm#2 touched on the sense of superiority and egocentrism this crowd has. He is hurt by criticism of his son and it overwhelms and outweighs (or should) the murder, death and misery his son causes all around the world.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:32 pmAw, the mass murdering Christanic terroriost gets his feeling hurt when his Son — another mass murdering Christianic terrorist — gets accurately described out in the real world.
Jesus F*cking H. Christ, these terrorist mother f*ckers need to stand trial for their crimes against humanity and treason against America.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:33 pmWell, if he doesn’t want to hear his son being criticized, Poppy should 1) not go out in public, because most of the world and 2/3 of the U.S. do not approve of what W has done; and/or 2) get W to stop an unjustified war.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:36 pmThanks to the woman from Abu Dhabi for speaking truth to power!!
Papa Bear is almost as stupid and Baby Bear.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:39 pmKing George the First just learned the meaning of the adage about “sleeping in the bed you made”…
I realized today, as the Whole Foods store where I shop is in a rich neighborhood, that rich people really do think they live in a whole other realm than the rest of us average folks. And that whenever reality peeks into their delicate little world, they scream bloody murder, not realizing that they don’t have the first clue about real ‘bloody murder’.
Wah George. I have no pity for you and the glass little world in which you cocooned yourself and your megalomanical spawn.
November 21st, 2006 at 2:41 pmThe apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, right?
November 21st, 2006 at 2:51 pmPrescott Bush was a friend of Adolf.
What could one expect from this family?
Their power stems from conspiring with even bigger
power. Bushes are birdshit on the road without their corporate fascist friends.
Oops, was that too direct? Well I still have to think about those images of children with their head blown off. Abu Graibh, Guantanamo Bay, there is an endless list of criminal acts for which EVERY OTHER HUMAN WOULD BE EXECUTED FOR.
Deluded in a law free zone.
Cher said it best : GWB is a SON of a Bush
November 21st, 2006 at 3:03 pmGee, it’s as if he didn’t know his son was a smirking, sociopathic, lying, murdering, barely intelligible, half-witted jerk.
November 21st, 2006 at 3:06 pm2 words: HA HA
What a loser for a son.
November 21st, 2006 at 3:06 pmAnd Abu Dhabi is one of those friendly Arab countries that likes US.
November 21st, 2006 at 3:09 pmSorry if your feelings ae hurt when the President is criticized. Geee, life is hard that way. At least you didn’t see your son come back from a war with his head pieced back together or prosthetic limbs.
What a jerk!
November 21st, 2006 at 3:20 pmAnyone that thinks its amazing that Bush Senior had a stupid child is deluding themselves. Senior isn’t exactly the brightest bulb. He was a sound-bite president just like Reagan. All the latest repub presidents have been nothing but mouthpieces with no great ability of leadership. You can name dozens of catch phrases that each one has said but name one that Clinton put out there and I will give you a cookie. He didn’t have to…he was doing his job.
And to all the funny Repubs out there “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” doesn’t count. ;)
November 21st, 2006 at 3:22 pmI noticed he got the talking points memos because he also threw out the “cut and run” phrase. And I think the guy who said that they’re in it for the money is right on.
November 21st, 2006 at 3:29 pmTruth hurts, don’t it, Pop!
November 21st, 2006 at 3:38 pmAmerica’s Least Wanted
he who has spawned the war-criminal from his evil, wretched, shit-stained loins has no right to defend the actions of his spawn. may they both die.
November 21st, 2006 at 3:45 pmSurprise, you ivory tower dumbass.
The World, and most of the U.S. population believe your son is A DISASTEROUS World leader.
Get used to hearing it Senior, cause it’s only going to get uglier the closer we get to the Impeachment hearings.
November 21st, 2006 at 3:47 pmcough, cough – I think I’m choking on something…
“Senior isn’t exactly the brightest bulb” – dlt
Perhaps he’s smarter than he lets on considering he was the director of the CIA?
November 21st, 2006 at 3:48 pmAnd this is the next best thing about Democrats winning; finally, people are speaking out. Finally, people are not afraid. And what’s even better is that this is just the tip of the iceberg. The Bush family and their decades-long criminal rise to wealth and power will be stained permanently by number-one son’s colossal failure. The entire Bush clan will drop from their elitist status to nothing more than what they truly are, white trash with money, and a bad joke that the entire world has had to suffer and pay for dearly. I long for the day I never have to hear about a single one of these mother-f**kers again, unless, of course, it is to hear about their indictments, one and all.
November 21st, 2006 at 3:49 pm“This son is not going to back away,” Bush said, his voice quivering.
You’re right. He’ll be led away in handcuffs we hope.
November 21st, 2006 at 4:06 pmOh, give me a home where the Bush gang don’t roam, and where the election polls are not rigged-red all night…
November 21st, 2006 at 4:06 pmCheers.
This is politics, not preschool. At 60 years old, GWB is a grown man, and it’s utterly pathetic that such a senior citizen needs to have his parents defend him. This is a family surrounded by politics for half a century, and the elder Bushes are “hurt” by liberals criticizing a president of their country? This is business. This is not hold-your-hand, everything’s going to be alright, even though you’re responsible for half a million Iraqi deaths, fantasy world. This is REAL LIFE. Grow up, Bush #1. Isn’t he like 85? He SHOULD say, “That’s politics. My son, as President, has implied that a win for Democrats is a win for terrorists, so if people call him imcompetent, I think he needs to know how to deal with it.”
November 21st, 2006 at 4:14 pmUgly. It’s getting ugly. I don’t think the admistration gets it. The youth in this country don’t feel that their future is secure. Many, many of them do not have health insurance and they can barely live on their own. They’re the ones who’d get drafted if it came to that. Retirement funds don’t exist for them but they can’t afford to fund Roths and IRAs. And the deficit is so high it will never disappear. Much of this was financed by the middle class to make the rich richer.
You think it’s ugly now, Mr. Bush. You ain’t seen nothing yet. Keep talking about Iran like you want to invade. Keep the tax cuts for the wealthy. Keep sending troops to Iraq. You want to see ugly? Continue as usual.
November 21st, 2006 at 4:19 pmOh no, Dubai has attacked Bush #41! Now Bush #43 must take revenge on Dubai – aaaaahhhh!
Heard this before?
November 21st, 2006 at 4:31 pmPerhaps he’s smarter than he lets on considering he was the director of the CIA?
Comment by Margaret
I can name a Director of FEMA that might show that not all directors are placed there because they should be. They call them political appointments.
November 21st, 2006 at 5:02 pmI know but…….the CIA?!?
November 21st, 2006 at 5:03 pmMargaret,
November 21st, 2006 at 5:11 pmThe man was involved in Watergate, Bay of Pigs, Iran/Contra, etc. “Intelligence” like that is not needed and dangerous. So I stand by it he is not the brightest bulb since he can’t think rationally and every one of those situations ended up as a disaster. So I don’t want stupid people leading the US into the ground.
Margaret,
Read these and tell me if you think someone like him should have “risen to the top”. This one …..and…..this one. Believe me there is more
November 21st, 2006 at 5:14 pmBoo Freakin Hoo poppy, your just defending your son’s incompetence, NOT burying him because of it, like many fathers here and in Iraq are forced to do.
Even your “arab buddies” hate the little twerp.
Deal with it.
November 21st, 2006 at 5:20 pmVideo Please!
November 21st, 2006 at 5:41 pmGHB knows his son is a fool. Thats hard to take. Now he has to realize GWB is going to go down in history as the biggest fools in world history. Hitler might still beat him out, but its close.
November 21st, 2006 at 5:50 pmNothing is as painful as seeing your child hated and despised by others–unless they, perhaps, deserve it. My sympathy goes out to the mothers, fathers, sons and daughters of those killed in a war based upon deceit, not elder Bush. My apologies to all of those people for the criminal, immoral behavior of our leaders in this despicable enterprise. Mr. Bush, your son should go straight to hell, and it is just too bad that you didn’t believe in abortion before it was too late. I try to feel Christian towards people like this, but they make it impossible.
November 21st, 2006 at 6:26 pmBush Sr seems to think he is still part of the ‘reality-based’ game and what he says is truth if he just repeats it enough.
No, Mr Bush. No. We are not playing that game anymore. This is a Democracy and not some plaything for your spoiled arrogant and spiteful child bred on $$ and not love.
November 21st, 2006 at 6:31 pmBoy times are tough for those Shrubs! Now even foreigners are telling them the truth! But as Big Daddy sez: its tough being Prez of the World. And I say: “…and the horses you and your wretched and corrupt family rode in on!”
November 21st, 2006 at 6:46 pmOne might feel a little sympathy for an old man who is forced to defend his errant son, but not in this case. Poppy is a world-experienced, rich and powerful man who, with Babs, raised a gaggle of useless, spoiled kids who contribute nothing to society, but take more than their share from it.
November 21st, 2006 at 7:52 pmW is arrogant, ignorant, and stubborn, and that makes him dangerous. I realize that at some point, parents have to be let “off the hook” for their children’s behavior, but Poppy deliberately facilitated his moronic son into the White House, knowing what an idiot he is. His voice may be trembling with shock at the audacity of the woman, but he deserves what he got.
I cannot feel sympathy for him, I an furious that he would sacrifice his own country and its people because he wanted to give his son something important to play with. Instead of the presidency, he should have bought him a train set.
My wallet has been deeply hurt via subsidizing the Bush/Walker crime family and his ilk.
November 21st, 2006 at 8:32 pmWhile I don’t disagree with some posts here, I think it unwise to attribute all the crap that has transpired over the past 6 years, entirely to Bush.
The people who he surrounds himself with, encouraged/chosen by Cheney are equally to blame.
November 21st, 2006 at 10:08 pmBig Daddy is nuts. I mean NUTS. He’s off his rocker.
Big Daddy is an ex-president, and the father of the most- hated president in the world–ever, and he’s in the Middle East. Great! Wonderful, George! “I don’t care how many bodyguards you have; I WOULD NOT BE CAUGHT DEAD IN THE MIDDLE EAST.” That area of the world is a dangerous place.
Apparently, he thinks his little excursion to the Middle East is a trip to Disneyland. THIS AIN’T NO MICKEY MOUSE TRIP, GEORGE.
His anger is all an act. Ask him a question about sexual intercourse with his true love, Jennifer? He might get a little upset about that. No wonder Babs went through a major depression. So sad! I suppose George and Jennifer are still hittin’ the sheets.
ALL OF THE SEXUAL PARTNERS OF THE ENTIRE BUSH FAMILY SHOULD HOLD A CONVENTION. There would be thousands at the convention. I would imagine 25,000 Asian hookers alone.
I HOPE THE CDC HAS A BOOTH AT THE CONVENTION. You know! You know! STD pamphlets with the latest news about STD’S.
Was Jennifer on this trip?
John
November 21st, 2006 at 11:35 pmFrom the article, it is obvious Bush senior is more used to welcoming audiences that mostly share his viewpoints, than to crowds where people have hugely differing opinions.
Did he really expect this group to be pre-selected? Or maybe he thought that, being business people, they would view his son’s policies in a good light.
I guess we know now where Bush the younger got the idea of living in a bubble and shutting off any uncomfortable fact: It just runs in the family.
Also, that 60% of those asked think he did a better job than his son is hardly a compliment. I can only think of a few things Pres Bush 43 could do worse.
November 22nd, 2006 at 12:15 amhttp://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132×2624405
Anyone else sick of seeing elder * & bubba joined at the hip?
Bubba giving up his bed, etc etc etc
Given junior’s behavor, it’s downright sickening.
Former Presidents Bill Clinton, left, and George H. W. Bush smile at each other on the podium at the Tulane University Commencement in New Orleans on Saturday May 13, 2006.
The Twelfth of Never. The BFEE (BUSH FAMILY EVIL EMPIRE – google it for more crimes than you can handle) is far more fearsome to the GOP lawmakers
than facing their constituents. You know at least half of them are as complicit criminally with BFEE actions and the rest know the limits of attacking any Bush family member.
November 22nd, 2006 at 8:16 am#36 my money is on Dubya having fetal alcohol syndrome. I say that not as an insult, because theres much better things to knock a man for than his pre-natal conditions…. I say it because I have a friend who FAS and his mannerisms are very similar…. spaced out.. poor vocubulary skills…easily manipulateable… theres something going on there different than a simple low IQ.. my person beleive is that Dubya may have naturally been a bit above average intellectually, until the Barbara’s “im a lonely politicians wife” binge drinking pickled his brains. If anybody can look at Barb and not think “lifelong drunk” I dont know what planet they are from..
November 22nd, 2006 at 8:59 amI would say that the best part of W ran down the crack of Barb’s ass, but then that would be admitting there was a good part to begin with.
November 22nd, 2006 at 11:03 amI’m no fan of Bush 41, but I wonder if the people in Abu Dhabi feel that Saddam was no threat to them in 1990.
November 22nd, 2006 at 11:11 am#61: With all due respect, what does that have to do with yesterday’s exchange?
November 22nd, 2006 at 11:22 amJust remember, but for the deference of the Democrats in January 2003, George H.W. Bush would have been impeached for his actions related to Iran-Contra, the original October surprise under the Reagan campaign, and his subsequent cover-up of Iran-Contra. Bush 41 is a scum bag who has never understood the American electorate. He is just now twigging to the reality that the Bush family name will be cindered for all time by the time this game plays out. He should just hope he can keep his wealth after the way his scion has plundered the treasury for the last six years to his own benefit.
November 22nd, 2006 at 1:32 pmALL OF THE SEXUAL PARTNERS OF THE ENTIRE BUSH FAMILY SHOULD HOLD A CONVENTION. There would be thousands at the convention. I would imagine 25,000 Asian hookers alone.
And one transvestite black hooker who goes by the name of Condolezza Rice.
November 22nd, 2006 at 6:24 pmpoppy Bush doesn’t seem to mind that his spawn has ruined his “good name”…..he will only mind when it starts to hit his own wallet. Let’s just hope that happens soon……
November 23rd, 2006 at 7:12 amI love you left-wingers..if you’re not taking it up the ass from some Elton Johnny then your trying to give it to GWB. Too bad he’s no fag.
November 24th, 2006 at 5:25 am
