Uuuh there is no “separation of church and state” in the Constitution! It doesn’t say it ANYWHERE!

That “term” was used in a letter from Thomas Jefferson to the Southern Baptist Convention assuring them that the “government”would never interfer with a church’s business.

So…..the “constitutinal separation od church and state” is a mere myth.

If you read the Constitution you’d see that.

So Dr. Dobson is correct on that fact.

Other than that…there HAS been cases of gays changing their lifestyle. It’s not like changing from an African American to something else. It’s changing a preference. It CAN be done IF that person really wants to. Although how many of them REALLY want to?

But if Ted Haggard was interested in doing THAT, then he would have already sought the help privately. The only reason he’s crying now is because he got caught lying and his gay lifestyle was eventually exposed. I guess living the life of a powerful religious figure and having that big income was worth living a double life. Most people would just find a different career. I hear porn directors make alot of money, or maybe bankers.

I wouldn’t lump all Christians together. There’s idiots in EVERY kind of group. They all have their king. Or court jesters….

My counselor finally admitted to me that I would always have gay feelings, and that I would just have to be strong and fight it. He said he still imagined men in his mind when he had sex with his wife.

I decided then to live the most truthful and real way I could live. I want to be the most authentic person possible. And that means I can happily say ‘I am a man. A gay man.’

Jim was a good athlete, especially in tennis; he was quiet and reserved, often walking around campus with his head down. Everyone who knew Jim Dobson on campus, believed in his faith.

After medical school, Jim was considered a fine pediatrician and child shrink, working out of UCLA University Hospital. His first book THE STRONG WILLED CHILD was rightfully a New York Times best-seller. His “Focus on the Family” radio show was in contrast to the self-helpers who filled the air-waves. In the 1970s I was hired by a non-related organization to write and direct a television special featuring Dobson before he began his own media ministry. AT that stage of the game I was a believer in the Good Doctor.

I have often asked myself, when did I begin to question Jim Dobson’s motivation and message? I think it was when he went political, identifying with ultra conservative leaders and lobyists in Washington. It was when Meece asked him to serve on his Porn Commision, out of that came his notoriety with the a well-known serial murderer who blamed his anti-social behavior on pornography. Soon after this (or maybe before) he became the Republican administrations’ conservative authority on matters familial. It seems that Jim then usuprped or took advantange of his position of political influence and used his religious conservative following to give further weight to his supposed political importance.

And guess what? The Washington lobyists and politicos took Dobson to their breast to fight same sex relationships, abortion, and separation of church and state. In many ways, Republicans have helped make my friend James Dobson become what he is.

I wish the charming old Jim Dobson were still here.

He understands that the only thing that can heal the human heart is the Creator–God Himself.

The only people who are laughing at this are the people who have given up themselves, or never opened their hearts to God, and allowed Him to heal their hearts.

Nothing is impossible for Him. Restoring Ted Haggard is right out of the heart of God who said that each of us is being changing into the likeness of Christ, though it’s a process.

Go for it Ted. You will one day be a display for the heart of God. Don’t give up.

If you have done your research you would know that even the gay research says that gayness is something that develops when you’re a kid … interpretation, it is developmental. For men … lack of connection with masculinity from the ages of 2-5. For women … lots of reasons including developmental issues with their mother, sexual abuse, etc.

Well, perhaps, someone may not perceive the sinfulness of homosexuality because they find pleasure and comfort in it.

Let me narrow down the term “religion” to Christianity for the sake of my argument because Christianity is what I can and will speak for. Well, my friend, speaking about religion and logic, tell me, does it seem
logical for you to engage in polemics without making any attempt to substantiate any of your statements which you have so passionately stated?? You have implied that Christianity is just all about corrupt people who use it as a tool for fulfilling their desire for “greed, power, and control over the masses”. There have been some who have tried to use Christianity for their own gain. However, does it seem logical to judge a system by the misuse/abuse of the system?? I believe that every system of values and ideas must be objectively assessed by what it stands for and what it means, not by its mischaracterization caused by a few who have deviated from the principles of the system. You also seem to have suggested that the Bible is a collection of myths and fairy tales. He who would not want to believe that Jesus was actually born might as well not believe that the sun radiates light on the Earth. It is a historical fact that the Biblical patriarchs roamed around the Tigris river valley. I shall go no further on this here.

Do you really believe that science can provide clues about moral issues?? Isn’t science basically a system of acquiring and furthering knowledge by observations and experimentations. As such, it’s more a diagnostic tool that is supposed to help us understand how things work. The philosophical inferences from the observations are for the most part colored by the investigator’s own personal viewpoint – more so in social sciences, where the inferences and conclusions are almost always influenced and biased by the investigator’s own stance (which is frequently reinforced by a philosophical pre-commitment to uphold it). One might be able to use or tweak science to say that homosexuality is natural in animals. But does it answer the question as to whether it is wrong or not or whether it’s sinful or not. Even if that hypothesis were to be true, what does that mean to humans?? Does anything that is natural to animals automatically become morally acceptable to humans?? Isn’t it natural for animals to walk around naked?? Shall we then ask the U.S. Congress to make it constitutionally permissible for every humman to walk around naked?? Science in itself has no way of having any say in the moral implications of the course of an action.

In response to your “mammals” answer, Would one want to be morally no better than what he has been taxonomically classified as in terms of his biological morphology?? That’s really sad!
