The Thanksgiving Turkeys used to go to Frying Pan Park in Northern Virginia to live their very short lives out in peace and quiet. Then George decided to send them instead to Disney land for commercial exploitation and noise and stress before they their death. The poor turkeys were going to die soon of obesity and bad hearts and leg problems, but I think Disneyland made things worse.

One possible use of the toluene comes to mind: if farm animals ingest toluene and their voluntary muscles become useless, then they can only be feed by force and have a meat almost free of nerves, and they will grow faster.

Prescription drugs have multiple side effects that you take more medication for.

Who knows, maybe they’re making a profit off of us getting cancer, or maybe they just want us dead before we can collect our social security money.

Thanks Walt. I got the reference that toluene is used in industrial food stuffs from wikipedia. They said it almost in passing with no further mention. Exley doesn’t like wikipedia which is all I need to trust it. Seriously, I read an article in the NYT on how they vet the articles, and it seems fairly rigorous. I like their breadth of information and have rarely stumped them.

Toluene is a CH3 radical. It is usually immediately absorbed in the nervous tissue of an animal and broken down. Why anyone would try to feed it to animals eludes me. It usually leads to the paralysis of the voluntary muscles.

16 Denis: In reference to all the crap they put in commercial food. At work, I am in the habit of looking up the chemicals we use, in case they are hazardous. Depending on the data sheet, I will: take no precautions, wear rubber gloves or refuse to use it. I also caution my coworkers to use the correct precautions. Including warning women of childbearing age that they should not use certain chemicals. So one day I stumbled across the solvent toluene. The data sheet said that it was largely harmless, but it could cause brain damage in people, and birth defects if handled by pregnant women. Here is the stunning part though: it said toluene is used in industrial food stuffs! What in the hell would we need toluene in animal food for!? Really, if anyone knows let me know. It is driving me nuts.

Back in the days when companies would offer perks to all employees regardless of their rank, my dad worked for Bendix. Each Thanksgiving, the firm would give each employee a 21 pound Beltsville turkey. Dad’s secretary was a widow with a son and a daughter. He made arrangements so she would get two 12-14 pound Beltsville turkeys which she naturally forwarded to her adult children and their families who lived in different and far-away states. She visited each set in alternate years. She left dad a 21 pound Beltsville turkey in her will. He cried he never realized what it really meant to her until that happened.

Libby might not want that pardon from Bush as death isn’t far behind. Maybe he should use the Ken Lay plan fake his death and go to the island get his case dismissed. Now it worked for Kenny boy. The ex Enron losers should keep an eye on Mrs. Lay as she will be visiting her husand on the island to let him know the trick worded and yes and count the money they stole.

Libby might think twice about asking Bush for a pardon now as death isn’t far behind. Libby might want to use the Ken Lay plan and fake his death go to the island and have all charges dropped. Wait a few years come back and say you can’t remember anything about the past. There by keeping all the stolen money and laughing all the way. Ex Enron losers should keep and eye on where Mrs. Lay travels you know she will be visiting her husand on the island just to let him know the trick worked.

I saw a video of the turkey-in-chief expressing his Thanksgiving blessings.
I wanted to throw up.
We have hungry people in America, poor people, unemployed people, families just struggling to survive, people still unable to go home to Louisiana, people mourning their dead soldiers in Iraq, people dealing with their wounded veterans from Iraq and Bush is out there being thankful for his “freedom” and the economy.
This man is a moron, whose antipathy is astonishing. Like so many of the evangelical preachers, he is a fraud, counterfeit and an embarrassment.
