After being stonewalled, he decided to up the stakes in order to get that fat ass that wanted to use his image and words to at least recognize the mistake and misquote. You are showing some reading comprehension issues. The article is clear that the lawsuit alleges Michael Moore’s film “denounces the United States military action in Iraq” by attacking President Bush. It says nothing about the film portraying Sgt. Damon in that light at all.

Come to think of it, what lawyer would take a client who says “I just want an apology. If I get an apology, that’s all I care about….oh, and by the way, if I don’t get an apology, then I want to sue for 150 million dollars” and then goes out and tries to get just an apology?

Keep in mind that this soldier was shown, out of context, denouncing the United States military action in Iraq and attacking President Bush. Both of these are chargable under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So, Moore, for his own desires not only damaged this mans reputation but threatened his livelyhood.

Kerry like Moore also used this same footage of my husband. He used it and implied that he knew the father of this injured serviceman and that the father told him he did not want his son to go to war. Have you even bothered to study Sgt. Peter Damon’s story.?Or is it a case that since it was someone you agree with (MM) that they are untouchable. The good Sgt Damon would have been happy for a simple apology but kept getting stonewalled while Moore kept lining his pockets using the good Sgts name. Just because NBC sold the rights to Moore does not give him the right to take statements out of context and twist them to meet his own agenda.

I mean, really. That lawsuit was filed last June. It’s old news.

And why did the guy wait TWO YEARS before filing a lawsuit for “defamation and infliction of emotional distress?” You’d think if he were distressed over Fahrenheit 9/11 had have known about it a lot sooner.

Let’s face it, the guy gave NBC permission to use the footage. NBC sold the rights to Mr. Moore. It’s not like Moore had a secret camera and video taped the guy without his knowledge.

The only “truth” in your link, robert, is that the guy found a lawyer two years later who would file a lawsuit on his behalf. I’m sure if you looked for two years, you could find a lawyer to take on just about any case, especially if you paid him or her up front!

Personally, I’m wondering if the attorney involved got sanctioned for filing a frivolous lawsuit. I also wonder if this suit has the financial backing of any of the right-wing groups that financed the Paula Jones litigation against Clinton.
