Americans see civil war in Iraq, want to withdraw.
According to a new Harris poll, 68 percent of Americans say they believe there is a civil war in Iraq, compared with 14 percent who disagree. Only 13 percent think new Defense nominee Robert Gates will make the situation in Iraq better, versus 42 percent who think he will make no difference. “About half of those polled would like the government to set a timetable for withdrawal of U.S. troops in Iraq, while 18% favor withdrawing all U.S. troops now and 19% favor sending more troops to stabilize the situation.”

There needs to be a more urgent effort by the Left to get our own media message machine in place. Sure we have the Democracy Alliance and MoveOn.org currently working on this but we have to work harder. At this rate it may take us another ten years before we have the same media advantages as the Reich-Wing. We have to use 2007 very wisely by further laying the groundwork for future Liberal victories. We need to restore the glory of Liberalism. Remember people, it took the right-wingers over fourty years to get where they were in 2006. It shouldn’t take us half as long because most of America agrees with us anyway. So let’s get cracking and use our time in 2007 to ensure that our GOTV efforts are even stronger in 2008 than they were in 2006. We must invest in efforts to microtarget voters in as many districts as possible while running candidates in every district.

In fact, it is quite remarkable that this site continues to exist without the ads or the tip jar seen on so many other sites. That would also account for the total lack of coverage of the recent escalations in the Palestinian Holocaust.

The Palestinian side of the story was left unheard: the two uniformed Israeli soldiers entered the autonomous Ramallah during the mass funeral of a Palestinian child, whose body was found in an Israeli settlement a day before: that’s why so many media teams happened to be in Ramallah at the time. Rumors spread that the soldiers invaded Ramallah in order to spill even more Palestinian blood. This does not excuse their killing, but two uniformed occupier’s soldiers violating Palestinian autonomous territory during a funeral of a murdered child is a very different story from the one that stayed in the Western collective memory – namely, as yet another instance of the eternal framing “They are killing innocent Jews” (file under anti-Semitism, Holocaust, etc.).

Yeah, your summer climate is most likely a bit better than here. More than a bit, but I don’t mind hot weather. I’m NOT a cold weather person.
I checked Bozeman Montana’s temperature earlier this evening–8 degrees below zero. That’s cold, and it’s not even December yet.
Obviously, global warming hasn’t hit Bozeman yet. Dubya has two more years left in office, so Bozemanites can look forward to warmer temperatures–that’s for sure.
