Too late. Not to mention probably the same old pap, just reshuffled, reworded, rehashed. Stalling tactics galore, W has already decreed that he’ll listen, but not do anything other than stay his curse.
You heard what Bush said yesterday, no withdrawal from battlefield until mission is completed…and victory is achieved. And how retired James Baker and Congressman Hamilton are going to give Commander in Chief Bush his long sought victory..?!!
If this groups part was to be at all relavent it should have been out way before the election. Events don’t wait for people to take months to figure out how to react to them.
Study Group: After careful consideration we adopted the lyrics of a song from the Band ‘Clash’:
“Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble
An if I stay it will be double
So come on and let me know
Should I stay or should I go now?”
Remember the NIE that was mentioned in the run-up to the election? The one which was not made public? The one which purportedly showed the situation on the ground far worse than the NIE from last April?
And remember FOX News saying, ‘Civil War in Iraq; could this be a good thing?’
Then there were all the Republicans before the election saying we were in World War III, or IV, or V or whatever.
Now the Iraq Study Group will present its findings on the day America was attacked by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor. Of course, there’s no symbolism in that date, is there? And all the Project for a New American Century needed was another Pearl Harbor to jump start its push for renewed American Imperialism using the power of the American Military to forward American Interests.
It will be interesting to see how many times Pearl Harbor and World War II will be invoked. (Oh, and remember, the Bush family fortune was made by bankrolling Hitler’s War-machine.)
Face it, the Al-Sadir folks just pulled out of the government and without them there is no consensus for anything. Iraq is lost and Bush is living in fairyland. Enough already.
I’m remembering another song, perhaps by the Clash as well:
I nominate “Saved by Zero” to be the official legacy anthem for Emperor Zero, who fiddles as Iraq, New Orleans, Darfur and the Amazon basin burns………….
Perhaps Baker would be so good as to define victory
in simple single sylable words so Crawford’s village idiot can understand it. Clearly, victory, being three sylables, is beyond him.
Now the Iraq Study Group will present its findings on the day America was attacked by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor…

still creepy, but pearl harbor was attacked on the 7th…
You know that Bush is having another study done so as not to have the Baker Group as the only recommended ideas. Of course, he will select the study done by his selected group, not the Baker Group.
Why are they taking so long to get this out? And the Baker Group does not even include one military person in there to give advice on how to handle a military situation. Don’t hope for much from either group, as Bush will not pay attention to either one. It is just a waste of time and money and lives for his photo-ops.
#19: December 7th is reserved for the President to declare that he’s heard and understood what the group has said, but that they’re wrong and we’re “adapting to stay the win, of course.”
#21 – That’s the nutshell. I agree. Bush is going to be really angry when he tries to refute the report. I can’t wait to hear that speech. The blame will all be on the Iraqi’s by then. It’s already started.
By the time the report comes out, it will likely be irrelevant. Can anyone say why it has taken this long for a report that was supposedly completed weeks ago? Even now, when Hamilton has declared they have completed it, why must they wait another week?
Is it because they have nothing of any consequence to propose?
They have to rush it out while there still is an Iraq to study.
November 29th, 2006 at 2:22 pmBrace yourselves for a load of cynical, manipulative crap, the true purpose of which is to save face for Junior, Iraqis be damned.

Take your time. It’s not like anyone is dying while you dither…
