has hired criminally-indicted ex-Rep. Tom DeLay’s (R-TX) former spokesman Kevin Madden to help gear up for his presidential run, the AP reports.
UPDATE: Ezra Klein writes, “Mitt Romney has named his two primary economic advisors for the 2008 campaign, and, to his credit, they’re proponents of, quite arguably, the most politically radioactive ideas in economics.”

The Republicans in power are so screwed up they can no longer learn from their mistakes, it seems. They must get all their information about the world from Fox News and the right wing hate radio squad..
November 30th, 2006 at 11:36 amWell, before anyone starts gripin’ about this… like yew Demmycrats allatime do… think of the WISDOM here…
By hiring the spokesman of a criminal, Mr. Mitt will get the benefit of a wealth of experience. And if he starts veering towards criminal behavior in his campaign, this here Madden dude can say, “Nuh uh! That’s CRIMINAL!” And he’d KNOW, on accounta he’s seen it FIRST HAND!
(And if he’s related to the FOOTBALL Madden, he could add a “BOOM!” after each sentence… like punk-chew-ayshun!!!)
See? There’s METHOD in Mitt’s Madness!
November 30th, 2006 at 11:42 amExcellent….
November 30th, 2006 at 11:44 amWonder if anyone ever told Mitty that you’re judged by the company you keep.
November 30th, 2006 at 11:46 amtoo bad 50% of this country does not care about criminals working in washington. “those” people will see it as an asset.
November 30th, 2006 at 11:46 amAnd I so thought that a GOP Mormon might have some hidden morals (guess I was wrong).
November 30th, 2006 at 11:47 am#7…… Precisely.
November 30th, 2006 at 11:57 amWe have no “boss”.
Which is why we are here, to discuss, identify, and to resist authority that is not of our choosing.
Sounds like you are the minion with the despotic boss…………..
Wonder if anyone ever told Mitty that you’re judged by the company you keep.

Shhhh…no, don’t tell him…this is gonna be good.
November 30th, 2006 at 11:58 amDoes Madden get to wear the magic Mormon underwear too?
November 30th, 2006 at 12:08 pm“[As] we seek to establish full equality for American gay and lesbian citizens, I will provide more effective leadership than [Ted Kennedy].”
- - Barney Frank? Nah. That’s Mitt Romney, running for US senator in Massachusetts, in a 1994 letter to the Massachusetts Log Cabin Republicans. Yeah, like ANY Republican candidate in ‘08 will repeat those words.
November 30th, 2006 at 12:12 pma little info on Mitt at TPM:
November 30th, 2006 at 12:14 pmTPM has some stuff on Mitt:
HERE
November 30th, 2006 at 12:16 pmThis is Mitt’s ‘kiss of death’ and his early ’swan song’….adios, Mittsey!

And more intellectually honest.
November 30th, 2006 at 12:46 pmpsychotic paid troll perhaps…coming in here witha variety of monikers.
November 30th, 2006 at 12:48 pmWhats the big deal? The original title is worded very misleadingly. Gov Mitt Romney has not hired anyone who has been criminally indicted. He hired someone that once was a spokesperson for someone ELSE who was criminally indicted.
Give me a break. Making a mountain out of a molehill.
November 30th, 2006 at 1:40 pmWe all know Democrats hate Republicans and vica versa but if you had to elect a Republican isn’t Romney the best choice?

Well if I HAD to chew off one of my own fingers, I’d pick the third on my left hand because it’s the one I use least, but I don’t see myself as having to knaw off any of my fingers anytime soon and I SURE don’t see myself being forced to vote Republican. Thank you for the offer though.
November 30th, 2006 at 4:41 pmI, for one, have seen enough religion in the White House. After W claims he gets his instructions from a “higher power” I don’t want a guy who might get his advice from a guy named Smith whose followers thought it quite all right to slay those who disagreed.
November 30th, 2006 at 7:22 pmModern Mormons have separated from the Fundamentalists, nonetheless, let’s try a little more secular governing for a while.
If you want to ripoff the electorate…
…hire a criminal mastermind…
