Moqtada al-Sadr is “not a big problem

and we will find a solution” for dealing with him, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki told President Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice today. A senior U.S. intelligence official estimates that “the militia of radical Shiite leader Moqtada al-Sadr has grown eightfold over the past year and now fields 40,000 to 60,000 men. That makes it more effective than the Iraqi government’s army, the official indicated.”

Wow, No wonder Bush likes Maliki, he is just as dumb. You could call them Dumb and dumberer. Just wait until al-Sadr gets word of what Maliki said. I would be scared if I was Maliki. You don’t want to piss off somebody with an Army bigger than yours.

  2. Xenon says:

Gee, isn’t one of the cornerstones of “democracy” the right to protest and/or disagree? Quite frankly, given the “success” of the whole Iraqi operation, Bush and company should be quite proud that their edicts have taken such a firm foothold in the hearts and minds of their converts!

  3. RUCerious says:

No, not a problem for Mal as he is al-Sadr’s beeyatch.
Perhaps a problem in terms of ever halting the sectarian civil war, but not for Mal, personally.

  4. Badmoodman says:

al-Maliki obviously hasn’t found the shutoff valve for the stupid gas George Bush was inhaling.

  5. Zooey says:

In other words, Maliki is hoping to kill al-Sadr before al-Sadr kills Maliki.

  6. Rebel In CA says:

I guess Nouri didn’t get the memo that say Sadr is forming a coalition with the sunni, the kurds and the Christians called the “National Front” whose aim is to end the hostilities and get rid of the American puppet government.

  7. big papa says:

al Maliki is as dead as Bushiva’s legacy, and rightly so…

…hopefully Bushiva will get what he deserves too!

  8. libra says:

The only way Moqtada is “not a problem” for Maliki is if Maliki’s “solution” is not to go back to Iraq, but retire in some undisclosed location that he’s pre-negotiated with someone (US?)
