Josh Marshall on the latest conservative talking point.

  1. David Hamilton (not afraid to write my name unlike the liberal cowards) says:

Nico, you are an intellectually dishonest moron who doesn’t care about the truth.

  2. SpudgeBoy says:

The blame the American public for Bush’s fu*k ups talking point will do nothing but cause Americans to hate the right wing fringe even more.

The other one that Americans are getting tired of is: “It was not as much a Democratic win as it was a Republican loss.” BullshEt, we out voted their dumb asses. No republican switched votes. There were just more of us. The people knew it was imperative to get the vote out, so we did.

  3. SpudgeBoy says:

David Hamilton (not afraid to write my name unlike the liberal cowards)

You are a waste of air. Go lick your masters boots.

  4. Jeffrey Kohan says:

How dare we Americans did not goose step in support of our Dear Leader. How could we be so ungrateful for the greatness of his vision. We are not worthy of a shining knight like George W. Bush.

  5. ItsJustKarma says:

You Republicans are disgusting. Your stupidity is without boundaries. You useless selfserving scum made this great country the most hated in the world. It comes at no surprise that you morons did get nothing together in the last 6 years and less surprising is the fact that all you can do is blaming it on somebody else. Always blaming it on somebody else. Hell is too nice of a place for you to go.
Go extinct and leave the honest America alone once and for all.

  6. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

David Hamilton: he’s not afraid to write my name unlike the liberal cowards, but he’s more than happy to post ad hominem attacks. He’s intellectually weak.

  7. klyde says:

Rethug thinking(sic) at it’s finest Kondracke and the troll at #1

  8. Marie says:

The arrogance and audacity of those who blame the American people is astonishing.
Don’t blame the moron in chief who led us into this world wide mess through lies, distortions and illegal moves; no, he is the boy-king to be worshipped. He is the born-again one who listens to his own higher power. (They forget that someone who claims to hear the voice of god in his ears is insane. )
No, don’t blame the administration or the neocons who propagated the lies and distortions, and don’t blame the pundits and the papers who believed the lies without question. Don’t blame them – nope – blame the American public for being unable and unwilling to follow Bush any further – finally!
The American public is to be blamed for electing the most incompetent and dangerous fool America has ever seen, yes, but they were listening to those pundits, reading those papers, and believing that their president wouldn’t deceive them.
    Never again.
And the loyal propagandists for George Bush should be condemned along with him.

Comment by David Hamilton (not afraid to write my name unlike the liberal cowards)
You worthless PoS chose the wrong name.

  10. proudleftists says:

Kondracke is just another Fox hack. He must really hate America.

  11. Gregor Samsa says:

Well, Mr. Hamilton, thank you for your very insightful post.

    On topic,

I said it before: This administration’s many, many mistakes are invariably someone else’s fault. It is the most pathetic “who, me?” administration I have ever seen.

Now that conservatives are running out of people to blame (after blaming Kerry, Clinton, Democrats, liberals, etc.) they are simply throwing accusations to the wind hoping they fall on someone else’s shoulders.

The Iraq debacle? It’s the American people’s fault, of course.

  12. Rebel In CA says:

    #1

Tell us; what is the truth?

You claim not to be affraid of writing your “real name”, so let us see if you have the balls to write the “real truth”

  13. norbizness says:

JOSH Marshall, right? Unless the former Supreme Court Chief Justice is roaming the Earth as a zombie.

  14. nobody in particular says:

The Iraq debacle? It’s the American people’s fault, of course.

    Comment by Gregor Samsa — December 1, 2006 @ 2:41 pm

that reminds me of when I was a child. My parents gave me a bicycle for my birthday and about a week later I fell off of it, skinned my knees and got a fat lip. When I came inside crying and told them it was their fault for giving me the bike they looked at me and couldn’t stop themselves from laughing.

If it wasn’t so deadly it would be funny.

  15. Zimzone says:

    #1, Troll Turd alret!
Bush & Co. are running out of excuses & people to hang the blame on.
Get ready for 2 years of ‘it wasn’t me, it was them’ crap.
How ’bout that Congress? The Neosluts promise to do less in Dec. than any other month.
Heckuva job, Roberts, Frist, Spector, Brownback, Hatch et al.
    Must be Clinton’s fault.

  16. alp3 says:

What I want to know is…
Who in the heck is David Hamilton?

  17. Grand Moff Texan says:

Who in the heck is David Hamilton?

Just another ignorant Bushtard. Their value is falling like excrement from a tall moose.
    .

    Comment by alp3 — December 1, 2006 @ 3:01 pm

Apparently some man who is not afraid to post under his real name, unlike them darn liberal cowards…

  19. RealScientist says:

Kondracke and whatever freak posted comment #1 illustrate perfectly the pathological aversion to responsibility held by the pathetic Bush-worshipping crowd.

  20. upside00 says:

Was it also the American people’s fault that 2 oil companies and (almost) a baseball team in Texas were run into the ground by Guess Who??

Maybe Daddy can dig his Sonny Boy out of this mess too….. but money won’t pay the entire bill this time!

  21. Republicans are the fear and smear party says:

David Hamilton. Very common name. Must be at least a couple hundred thousand in America. Which one are you?

    John Smith

  22. Mr Blifil says:

I think David Hamilton is the one who got into trouble for photographing pre-pubescent girls, no?

  23. WaltTheMan says:

May all the David Hamilton’s living in the US be spared any rancor from the posting of that name in #1.

  24. Mr Blifil says:

Yeah we liberals sure are cowards for hiding behind anonymity. Because no right wingers would ever consider publishing personal information online without permission. And none of their right wing hooligan troglodyte friends would ever conceive of making death threats or spamming the targeted individual. Nah. That’d never happen.

  25. Yikes says:

I’ll post this again. It’s a hypothetical but based on FACT indictment of Bush et al from a former federal prosecutor. Please read and pass on.

  26. RealScientist says:

Nico, you are an intellectually dishonest moron who doesn’t care about the truth.

Comment by David Hamilton (not afraid to write my name unlike the liberal cowards) — December 1, 2006 @ 2:20 pm

    Noxious, risible, fetid thinking.

  27. alp3 says:

Does a David Hamilton come with a portable pedestal and a pull string?

  28. J Reeves says:

#16 is right — the word for it is “Dolchstosslegende” or “the stab-in-the-back” excuse. Hitler used it to explain Germany’s defeat in World War I. Now it is becoming a conservative talking point.

OOps, did I just compare conservatives to Hitler?

    Well, excuuuuuuse me.

  29. pete says:

Sounds familiar: Hitler blamed the reversal of his war on the German people, whom he condemned for being too weak to live out his vision for them and the world.

  30. Cayobo says:

I hate to see or hear the word “fetid” used….

It makes me think of the womb that gave birth to the Bush clan.

  31. Zooey says:

GWB never takes responsibility for anything he does, and now his minions are taking up the slack.

  32. El Tonno says:

#30 …Hitler accusing his Volk of weakness from Berlin Bunker…

    That was my second reaction.

The first was “America is now considered ‘weak’? When will it be considered ’strong’ then?”

Happily, commentators do not need to reinvent the wheel to make speeches! Comrades, let’s hear some uplifiting hotness from olden times:

Will is the force inside you that commands. You may hesitate from weariness, anxiety, weakness. Will lifts you over every barrier and orders you to do what your feelings and understanding tell you to do. A man without will is like a machine without power. It is useless. But “where there is a will, there is a way,” and where a will orders, it is obeyed, whether a person follows his own will or men follow the will of a leader.

    (From http://www.calvin.edu/academic/cas/gpa/glauben.htm)

  33. jake3988 says:

Good points, but horrendously written article. I had to read it about 10 times before I realized he wasn’t defending it.

  34. SpudgeBoy says:

Their value is falling like excrement from a tall moose.

Do you mind if I plagiarize this a lot?

  35. RUCerious says:

Yeah, it’s a real damn shame the American people didn’t realize you can’t impose democracy at gunpoint. Too bad they were so shallow that reading a book about how great freedom is made them think they should march freedom up the entire world’s arse.
    Too damn bad.

  36. RUCerious says:

    OK, Fine.
My real name is Ragnar Unicorn Cerious.

  37. katy says:

    David Hamilton?
well, now we know who vinnie(s) and/or flaco is…

  38. TSL says:

I’m guessing any plagerism would be welcomed in this case.

    But isn’t “tall moose” redundant?

    Never mind . . . not important . . .

  39. katy says:

also, i thought the latest meme was to blame the iraqis…
they just didn’t want demcracy badly enough…

either way – just another example of not accepting the blame…

  40. RUCerious says:

#40 – Katy – Americans, Iraqis, moonmonkeys, anybody but thems that are actually to blame for the shatstorm that is Iraq.

  41. drtomaso says:

Clearly, its cause US companies are saying “happy holidays” in stead of “Merry Christmas.” Don’t they support the troops?

  42. marblex says:

They’re setting the stage with this meme for another “terrorist” attack.

Will the Amurkkan sheeple finally get that they are the “terrorists”?

This time, Cheney is desperate enough to nuke an Amurkkan town or city.

I hope to hell I am wrong

  43. cookie says:

get ready for another “terror” attack

    they are setting the stage

  44. ItsJustKarma says:

    #43 #44

Maybe Dec 6th would be a good date? I am not alone with my worries. Corner a snake and see what will happen. (Not that I want to insult snakes by comparing them to repiglicans)

  45. ItsJustKarma says:

Wait! If there will be any blasphemy conducted by the bushers and dickers it must be the ‘Fire of the Houses of Parliaments’, right? Because those will be a nuisance from January on in the first place. We have the “Fire Drecree” aka Patriot Act already.

  46. Bluedog49 says:

That first post was funny. Kind of reminds me of an old SNL skit. “Josh you ignorant slut!”

  47. barfly says:

Comment by I Never Had Sex With That Woman Bwahahaha

    Meet me, coward.

  48. Steven38 says:

I think the purpose of the war for many hardcore neo-cons is the war. That no one is able to figure out what the war is accomplishing is irrelevant. People are suppose to be war lovers like the neo-cons. I think the worst eventuality for the neo-cons is that Iraq just becomes another Middle Eastern state, sells oil, and is a country the US has very limited influence over. At this point in time this is the best possible outcome but from the viewpoint of the neo-cons the worst possible outcome. The hundreds of billions of dollars spent and lives lost were spent essentially for zilch. Much better for the 101st Fighting Keyboardists is a general World War II conflagration, where the US can be put on a total war footing, civil liberties can be abridged, punditry jobs are secured for at least another decade and large parts of the Middle East are bombed back to the stone age. Of course, with this the reputation of the US sinks to the bottom of the sea but the fascistic neo-con program has some appeal as the US has been backed up against a wall. The goal of the neo-cons now is a much larger disaster than the already humongous disaster that the neo-cons have already lead the US in to. For the neo-cons what to do is all about what is best for the neo-cons rather than what is best for the US.

  49. skip says:

The Republican Neo-Con media whores are in full blown Blame America First mode

  50. JPark says:

TP, can you please delete the oversexed barfly imposter?
