Senate environment committee chairman James Inhofe (R-OK) “will hold his last hearing as chairman Wednesday to highlight media coverage of global warming,” National Journal reports. “Inhofe has criticized news outlets for their coverage of global warming, which he believes is a hoax.” The last time Inhofe challenged the media, it didn’t go so well.

I bet Inhofe hates The Weather Channel. They have a special section on global warming. Bye Inhofe, see ya, well… never gonna see ya later.
December 4th, 2006 at 5:49 pmGood riddance!
Too bad we don’t elect media representatives either. I would love to see most of those talking heads go with him.
December 4th, 2006 at 5:51 pmInhofe = Waaaaaaaaah!!!
I love the weather channel — so much weather.
December 4th, 2006 at 5:53 pmSurely anyone with Inhofe’s staggering intellect can find a fine job somewhere, for example writing for National Review.
December 4th, 2006 at 5:55 pmThe Weather channel is good because its always benign programming, it’s not under anyone’s control. It’s mellow, and it’s based in Atlanta, where I hear people are pretty progressive. (don’t leave Atlanta if you are smart).
No politics in weather.
December 4th, 2006 at 5:59 pmAnd all that horrible weather isn’t happening to me. Cuz, you know, everything’s all about me.
Inhofe had a tiny segment in “An Inconvenient Truth” where he was being

I can tell you that the rumor is mostly true (I grew up here). You still have a lot of rednecks running around - but the city has become more and more liberal each year since we had the Olympics - and has evolved a real diversity of people from different cultures.)
It’s just too freaking hot here in the summer. And the traffic is seriously horrific. Otherwise, it’s cheaper than most capital cities and the winters are mild…
December 4th, 2006 at 6:05 pmanyone remember a santorum related attempt to put the weather service under governmental control? shut down accu-weather?
something like that… wonder if inhofe was involved…
i like the weather channel too… but love accu-weather on my puter…
December 4th, 2006 at 6:06 pmDid you like the movie Zooey?
I liked it. Except for the part with Inhofe, I forgot about that part.

uh - ya think?
December 4th, 2006 at 6:07 pmSantorum was trying to keep the US Weather Sevice from using the information they gather unless there was a major storm or weather event. He wanted to have the service give the information to for-profit companies like Accu-Weather which was a major contributor to his campaign.
December 4th, 2006 at 6:16 pmKaty,
Thanks for confirming my notion, I needed some validation. :)

A bit like putting Michael Jackson in charge of the Vienna Boys Choir.

I did. I liked how they put the personal stuff in between all the depressing shit.

December 4th, 2006 at 7:16 pmzooey - or anyone - how did you put that line through the word @ #6?
i’m on a mac, mind you… not sure we have the same commands…
December 4th, 2006 at 7:23 pmBarbara Boxer could not chair this committee soon enough.
December 4th, 2006 at 7:27 pmInfohe has about as much cognizence about global warming as the planet Uranus has sunlight. And he’s about as far about from understainding the subject as that planet is from the sun as well. Of course considering where his head seems to be stuck I’m not surprised that it’s dark in there. Just like Uranus. But since where his head is stuck seems to be full of money as well as the usual “stuff” that one would find there I guess that would be inevitible…

It would serve Sen “In-a-huff” if he got a job as a weather reporter on Weather channel, and was given the segment on global warming.

December 4th, 2006 at 8:37 pmA really nice feature — Weather Channel plus the FireFox Browser.
I now have real-time weather status and three-day forecast in the status line of my browser and local radar screens are just a click away.

I left you a comment back on the legacy thread. That article was pretty solid imo…it even brought up some of the Energy Task Force stuff which is still pretty deeply hidden.
Thanks!!!
December 4th, 2006 at 9:12 pm#31 I wish you would stick to your own weird, unloved kind but that certainly isn’t going to happen. My next wish would be that you would realize what an asshole you are and change.

December 4th, 2006 at 10:20 pmYeah, kind of a neutral reason. Evolution doesn’t pick good or bad( neither do regressive genes).
December 4th, 2006 at 10:29 pmSome of the comments sound as if In-hoax is going away. However, while fortunately he will no longer be chairing the Environment Committee, he unfortunately will still be a member of the Senate–at least until enough voters in Oklahoma develop the good sense to vote him out of office, or he dies.

December 5th, 2006 at 2:07 amRemember that Simpsons eposide when the comet was going to hit Springfield? At the end the townspeople march off toward the Observatory shouting:
“Let’s destroy the observatory so this’ll never happen again!”
Isn’t that Inhoff? Let’s shut down research and discussion so the climate won’t change?
How can people possible not see the evidence of climate change? Our weather has been completely screwed up since 1980. That was the first year I remember people discussing how different the weather had been from any previous time. And it’s only gotten worse since then.
Grouch Marx said, “Who are you going to believe? Me, or your own lying eyes?”
