And she’ll appear to be totally stunned by the criticism. Geographically, it’s a very small space where that kind of thinking is conventional wisdom. Geez, I wish some of these people would get out a little more often and venture a little further beyond the beltway.
Since when does it make you a maverick to be pandering to the base, kissing the asses that have held you in contempt ever since they smeared you right out of contention six years ago?

Is there a required script somewhere that says, “If you’re talking about McCain, make sure you use the word “maverick” as often as possible whether or not it fits the context of the discussion?” Someone needs to chronicle St. John’s flip-flops over the past 2 years. He’s not a “maverick,” he’s a “disingenuous, arrogant, sycophant!” And don’t we ALREADY have a president possessing those charming traits of character?
