“Of the 383 pieces of legislation

that were signed into law during the two-year 109th Congress, more than one-quarter dealt with naming or renaming federal buildings and structures — primarily post offices — after various Americans.”

This might be a good thing, considering the harm they could have done.

    I will fix this quote:

“Of the 383 pieces of legislation that were signed into law during the two-year 109th Congress, more than one-quarter dealt with naming or renaming federal buildings and structures — primarily post offices — after various Bush Cronies.”

There we go. That is what we call truth in reporting.

How does this number compare to the last 2 years of the Clinton regime?

You talk about this like it was a BAD thing, but I betcha a BUNCH of these here places was named after the greatest preznit there never was, and by that I mean Ronald Wilson Reagan!

Rest in peace, Ronnie! We’s watchin’ yer back!

What does it matter? That was a republican Congress also. SO, if those numbers are worse than these, then that means the republcains were just as bad then.

If it’s important for you to know, go ask at a neocon site or do some research on your own. Isn’t the “well, Clinton…” retort getting a bit worn out and tired to you, yet?

  14. KRank says:

Just think how much worse off America would be today, if those post offices hadn’t gotten renamed. Then try to tell me how awful this Congress has been.

  15. And You Thought REAGAN Was Stupid says:

Ronnie even has a foundation dedicated to promoting his memory, The Reagan Legacy Foundation. Of course, if you need a foundation just to promote your legacy, it must not have been so much to brag about to begin with.

  16. Marie says:

Really important stuff. On the other hand, look at the consequences of what they did do!

  17. plum says:

Interesting how the only sponsors mentioned in the article were Democrats. The liberal media at work.

(The only Republican mentioned was a long-serving senator who was going to have a bridge named after him. The sponsor of that bill was left out.)

Can I get a post office named after me? Can I? Please? Can I?

The Gregor Samsa post office. I like how that sounds.

I think I have some money for that Congressman who can help me.

    So, can I? Plleeaaasse?

  23. Eargy Earp says:

Actually this is probably the safest type of legislation for the 109th. That and horse meat legislation.

Anything more serious than that and we’re kissing our a$$es goodbye!!

  24. Jericho says:

ROFLMAO!! You see, the more changes, the less changes. This will probably also be the case with the change in Iraq-strategy. No change in the content, just a change of the guy explaning to us how we shouldn’t be told the real strategy for reasons of national security.

  27. Hank says:

Look on the bright side- when they were busy naming post offices, it kept them out of trouble. And given the horrible stuff they were doing the rest of the time, this is a good thing….

And we pay these ass%2les how much a year? Not forgetting their staff and all the other expenses either.
