Another mass abduction in Baghdad.

“Gunmen in military uniforms kidnapped dozens of people Thursday from a major commercial area in Baghdad, the second mass abduction in the capital in a month, and nearly 30 people were killed or found dead elsewhere in Iraq.”

That is just amazing to me. How can mass amounts of people be abducted? I know how, its just amazing. The imagination know no bounds, these “insurgents” have lots of time to think up new stuff, and lots of motivation to do so. Can’t we just send them some Christmas cookies? (Made of plastic explosives). Alright, Allah cookies.

  3. Ugh says:

Didn’t the united states do a mass kidnapping by gunmen in uniforms recently under the guise of “illegal immigration”?

But..but..all the good news from Iraq says everything is golly gee wonderful.

  6. Yikes says:

FotTruth, great idea. But explosives is the wrong approach. How about putting some fresh Afghan cocaine into them. We could get them addicted, then arrest them for being drug addicts. Voila, problem solved.

  7. ScrewBush says:

Abductions, dead bodies, blah, blah, blah. Hey, but did you notice that some of those folks were killed in front of a newly painted school? Did you, talk about bias. I agree witha Laura. Hell, some of those abduction might have taken place thanks to brand new vehicles provided for by US tax dollars. Did you think of that?

  8. Trizza says:

This administration couldn’t care any less about Iraqi’s being abducted. My guess is that we will still read reports like this even after Bush sends another 20-40k troops to Iraq. What’s really sickening is the fact that over a year ago, we were begging Bush to send more troops before the situation got out of control to which he insisted that he only listens to the commanders on the ground. But now, since he doesn’t have control of congress anymore, he is “open” to suggestions. Most of which he rejects.

What’s truly sad is that this sort of news story has actually become commonplace.

Repubs grouse about how much damage we would cause Iraq by precipitously withdrawing, but honestly…how much worse can it get?

I think the White House would prefer we use the term, “Civilian Misappropritation” or “Forced Relocation” as it would sound less like a civil war.

By the way, a few weeks ago one of our fighters was shot down and the pilot was missing. Did we ever get him back along with those soldiers who were kidnapped in broad daylight in the middle of Baghdad, or are we still looking for them along with the WMDS?

this type of news interferes with American’s holiday thoughts, prayers, plans, whatever. The average American needs to be hauled out of his/her cozy home, mall, shop dragged to Baghdad and witness first-hand the death, destruction his president has rendered. NIMBY NIMBY and out of sight out of mind

  13. Rebel In CA says:

As you can see the Shrub-In-Chief’s plan for total victory in Iraq is working.

    Baddo,

That’s why I have supported the idea of a Baghdad webcam. Or series of webcams. I know, they will mess up the network, and shoot the cameras.

That’s a good place to piss away some more $. Perhaps another Haliburton contract could get the job done? Still, it might have some merit and it would be cheaper and more effective than using toy airplanes and remote controlled robots to keep an eye out for killers.

Of course, the cams would be like the rest of Baghdad and be without power much of the time.

Personally, I think the easiest and cheapest way to win the war would be to buy off the killers for say, $100,000 each, and give each one either a free camel or a ticket to Crawford, Texas for a photo op with King George.

Superb idea but if they find out you did it you will be picked up secretly in the night and promptly dispatched to Gitmo or some other secret facility in Europe. Watch your back.

DO not use the term “killers”….many of them are nationalists trying to to rid their country of occupiers like your brethern did against the British in the 1770’s and like the IRA did and PLO and so on and so on. Stupid Americans like you dont understand the aspiration to live free of occupiers…….
