<blockquote>"As we work with Congress in the coming year to chart a new course in Iraq and strengthen our military to meet the challenges of the 21st century, we must also work together to achieve important goals for the American people here at home. This work begins with keeping our economy growing. … <strong>And I encourage you all to go shopping more. </strong>"

....Bush added today that 2007 will “require difficult choices and <strong>additional sacrifices</strong>” from the American people.</blockquote>

How ironic that this guy is still sitting in the White House instead of a home for the criminally insane.

ok... so we go shopping...

has anyone found anyplace that doesn't sell stuff from overseas workers making 10 cents on the dollar for the same job over here used to make...

then... lest we forget... those same said shoppers' jobs are now overseas with workers making 10 cents on the dollar for the same job over here used to make...

oh... i get it... can't shop - too dumb - too lazy - to "librul" - don't go to church

i see - 300 million Americans, 120 million workforce -

that's it 120 million global outsourcing entreprenueurs -

why - so silly of me -

we'll all just "circle charge" ourselves into extreme wealth and happiness while jobs are now overseas with workers making 10 cents on the dollar for the same job over here used to make...

just like the president's "base" - the "haves" and "have mores" - just like the Iraq fiasco contractors - and Katrina contractors - and california energy markets -

'scuse me... gotta go shopping.

We pay taxes for the same reason the small business owner pays the mafia protection money. We pay taxes so the <em>elite</em> may have several homes, fully staffed with (their other) servants. We pay taxes because if we don't, we go to prison. We pay income taxes because the government has made us believe there is a law that says we must...but there is not. Look<em> that</em> up!

Vote with your dollars.

Research purchasing products used or second hand. Consider e-bay as the new wal-mart. Don't throw away items others might use, search out the needy or donate to your local salvation army. Do you really need a plasma big screen tv? Will it make Donald Trumps complextion any better looking? Young children don't need boxes and boxes of toys, they seem more content on the wrapping paper. If your kids wants an x-box, ps3 or a nintendo, recommend they find some part-time work for an item that will be in the attic in less than 2 years. Pirate your music until record companies release their artist hostages. Vintage clothing is a hot ticket, remember, the person makes the cloths, not what GAP shoves down your throat as "trendy hot". Save that $10 and go the the grocery store and not a fast food outlet, prepare your foods for the week and brown bag your lunches. Consider taking a bus to and from work, your car might even last longer. Read some books on home and car maintenance, you'll save boat loads. Go to the gym and monitor what your feeding your body, being proactive about your health will save you thousands in future perscription drugs. Purchase generic items, bottled water is bottled water..flashy labels and trendy names don't make the products taste any better.

The power is in your hands. Voting in elections is nothing more than the illussion of choice. Voting with your dollars will truly get attention, in the most profound way. Goodluck if your brave enough to follow this path, I have, and have more money to show for it. Failing to reconsider your spending habits simply means those who do will know exacually who to string up when the shit hits the fan within this decade.....yes this decade, don't kid yourselves.

We now have a lunatic running this country. Bush is a very very very sick man. I wonder how often he thinks of knocking back a few shots of Jack Daniels?

LUNATIC. When a general doesn't agree (NO SURGE IN TROOPS)this alcoholic and CHEERLEADER(hahahahahaha)they all of a sudden want to spend time with their familes. What is this doing to the moral of our brave troops?

I used to think this war criminal was a puppet, others like Cheney and Rumsfeld pulling his strings. Dumbya is calling the shots. And I want to see a doctor diagnos this mental case.

DELUSIONAL. He's got this grand illusion fed to him by Connie "Auntie Thomasina"Rice, that he is another Churchill or FDR. But the reality he is another LBJ, another Milosevic, another Saddam. A religious zealot and thug.

To hide behind the bible to enhance your wealth and power and those around you (most notably DICK Cheney, ex CEO of Haliburton, ENOUGH SAID)is pure evil. To enhance your wealth and power by spilling the blood of our brave troops is treasonous.

They should lock this guy up in a room with a case of Jack Daniels and let him drink himself to death, putting himself out of his misery and rescuing our country.

That`s right!! Si Byl had nothing to do with the postings.I did it.For one simple reason.unbelievable needed to be exposed for the little lying brat that she is.Since she has been exposed and refused to apologize to the board. The postings have now ceased because of one Zooey had asked me very kindly to stop. Her wish has been granted.

Unbelievable, you seem to sweep what your lying words mean to people as you sweep crumbs off the shelf right into the garbage can.You have no need for anyone but yourself. No details necessary. You have shown your ass.To me.To others.
To all the posters on this board. You have shown your real you.It is a very dark and very ugly person that you are.
I trust you`ll be having no problems with posters here in the future.
And try not to play the victim in this when you are anything but.

What's being forgotten is that this next recession, like the last one, is inherited from the Clinton administration.

How is it possible that an entirely new recession is a leftover from a previous president? Ask a Republican, they'll surely make up any reason you like.

LET'S GO SHOPPING FOR A NEW PRESIDENT.

Let's all bone up on Impeachment 101. Let's see, if Bush and Cheney are convicted ( a slam dunk ) then Nancy is president.

President Nancy Pelosi sure has a nice ring to it.

I'm afraid those tax breaks to the wealthy have not trickled down to the r97 percent that really didn't get a break yet as this same economic problem tainted Reagan and Papa Bush legacy.

Need to do a better job of editing. This quote obviously taken out of context. But, I guess it doesn't matter. The real issue here is trying to focus on the economy as if it was a Bush weakness. Stick with the war in Iraq. Presuming the President needs to do a better job with the economy is like telling Hillary she needs to be more understanding with Bill's liasons.

Christians Outwork Atheists

Relative to our good old European counterparts, it appears we Americans are setting a bad example for the world by working so damn hard.

The following is an excerpt from an article in the New York Times titled \"Why America Outpaces Europe (Clue: The God Factor).\" The article gives an overview of the religious basis for America\'s sustained economic productivity, as compared with Europe\'s increasing secularization, and subsequent economic stagnation.
What clinches the Weber thesis is that Northern Europe\'s declines in working hours coincide almost exactly with steep declines in religious observance. In the Netherlands, Britain, Germany, Sweden and Denmark, less than 10 percent of the population now attend church at least once a month, a dramatic decline since the 1960\'s. (Only in Catholic Italy and Ireland do more than a third of the population go to church on a monthly basis.) In the recent Gallup Millennium Survey of religious attitudes, 49 percent of Danes, 52 percent of Norwegians and 55 percent of Swedes said God did not matter to them.
